WHOA! Gateway Pundit Lies Again!

This time it’s Hoft’s moronic partner
Wingnuts • Views: 37,195

Jim Hoft is well known as The Dumbest Man on the Internet, but he now has a partner who’s giving him real competition for the title, Andrew Marcus. In addition to being blindingly stupid, Marcus is an utterly shameless liar who never hesitates to twist facts around to suit his one agenda — attacking President Obama. And the right wing herd never fails to go for it.

Today Hoft’s idiot partner bleats: WHOA! Obama Halts Visa Applications From Israel | the Gateway Pundit.

WHOA! I mean, WHOA! That’s intense, dude!

No Jews Allowed

Democrats have a Jewish problem:

US Embassy in Tel Aviv Severely Restricts Visas for Israelis

Tourist visa process cancelled until further notice, embassy announces.

From the Obama State Dept:

“Due to the current security situation in Tel Aviv, U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv remains open but is operating at reduced staffing until further notice, and has canceled routine visa application processing and American Citizen services,” the statement says. “Emergencies involving an American citizen and visa applications will be considered on a case by case basis.”

Progressives are not 100% on Israel’s side.

h/t US_Patriot1776

How shocked would you be to discover that this rancid hyperbole is a complete distortion of the truth?

Here’s the US embassy’s full statement - they’re short-staffed due to the security situation and have temporarily suspended visa processing. And it’s very unlikely that President Obama had anything to do with this decision, of course.

American Citizen Services | Embassy of the United States

Due to the current security situation in Tel Aviv, U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv remains open but is operating at reduced staffing until further notice, and has canceled routine visa application processing and American Citizen services. Emergencies involving an American citizen and visa applications will be considered on a case by case basis. If you had a scheduled visa appointment, you will receive an email informing you of the appointment cancellation, and another email with a new scheduled appointment. If the appointment is not convenient for you, you may reschedule your appointment through the scheduling system. You are not required to pay a new fee. We will update the website and our facebook on any developments. To ask for an emergency appointment, please email NIVTelAviv -at- state -dot- gov (for visas) or AMCTelAviv -at- state -dot- gov (for U.S. Citizens Services) and explain the nature of your emergency. We will respond to your email quickly with additional instructions.

And the pathetic Right Wing Unison Nitwit Chorus immediately jumps all over this bogus post, of course:

Jim Hoft lie about Obama policy. The hell you say. But it’s rich to accuse Obama and the Democratic Party of being hostile to Jews when Hoft’s party has zero Jewish elected officials on the federal level.

I have noticed, on social media - specifically Twitter/Facebook - recently that a whole bunch of these “I Stand by Israel” Tea Partiers - I identify them as such by their Gadsen flags, and other similar memorabilia - almost to a person also actively follow (and tweet/retweet) straight up white nationalist individuals and organizations. To repeat from the last thread.

I praised Max Seddon’s reporting on Ukraine at Buzzfeed, but the praise was premature.

In the latest article he claims to have uncovered an Instagram account of a Russian soldier working in a Buk missile launch system on the Ukrainian territory.

He quotes the soldier thus:

“Sitting around, working on a Buk, listening to music, basically a good Sunday.”

However it’s a mistranslation. In the context “buk” is an abbreviated form of “noutbuk”, which is, of course, “notebook”. So it’s “We’re working on a laptop”, instead of “on a missile launcher”.

The hint is the “personal computer” emoji that follows the word “buk” and that can be seen on Android devices. Here’s a screenshot courtesy of Backwoods Sleuth:

The soldier’s comments under some other photos make clear that his vehicle is an APC.

This misinformation has spread like wildfire and after the inevitable refutation it will backfire, because now all the real evidence from social networks will be dismissed because of this idiocy.

Spot on.

The collapse of the Dispensationalists’ timetable - note that Late Great Planet Earth is well past its sell-by date - is, I propose, a non-trivial player in the social fabric we see today, especially the Tea Partying angst.

Instead of going through the existential grist mill that accepting that one’s beliefs were just wrong, they now engage themselves in trying to pin the angst-tail on the donkey.

This guilt-shifting - away from their own intellectual errors and onto someone else - has been building for decades.

This is why I keep coming back to theme of “worldview collapse”.

When the real world isn’t what you want it to be, the easiest way out is to enter a pretend world.

If you had a scheduled visa appointment, you will receive an email informing you of the appointment cancellation, and another email with a new scheduled appointment. If the appointment is not convenient for you, you may reschedule your appointment through the scheduling system.

My god, it’s just like Kristallnacht, if, instead of attacking Jews, the Nazis had rampaged through Germany politely asking Jews to reschedule their appointments due to staffing shortages.

That’s what’s hilarious about this, the only way this bill could have waited until now to be pulled is that Boehner was convinced he had the votes up until 30 minutes ago. He’s never waited until the last second to pull a bill, so the TP must have pulled the rug out from under him yet again.

Southern Peru in winter.

Peru’s government has declared a state of emergency in parts of the southern Andean region of Puno that have been hit with the coldest temperatures in a decade, daily El Comercio reported.peruviantimes.com

The highest mountains are located in the central and southern highlands. These mountains stretch 5,300 meters high on average, whereas the average height in the northern highlands is only 3,880 meters. In the Cordillera Blanca mountain range in Ancash, more than thirty snowcapped mountains are higher than six thousand meters, the tallest being the Huascaran at 6,768 meters above sea level. In the highest areas, the temperature drops to 30°C below zero (-22ºF). Areas above 4,800 meters have no permanent population except for the temporary personnel working in a few mines.

MBF. Ignoring that there isn’t anything substantive to the claims that he’s abused his power to issue EOs?

Take your pick.

Obama has issued fewer EOs than his predecessors - in fact, far fewer.

It’s just that the GOP doesn’t want him issuing them. At all. Or signing stuff into law either. Because their sole mission is to make him a failed president, even if it means undermining the economy in the process (see GOP shutdown). And where the GOP can’t even agree among themselves what to do, they can’t help but find that they’re leaving it up to the President to take action that they’re already suing him for taking in other circumstances.

That, by itself, should render the issue moot. The lawsuit should be dismissed with prejudice. When you’ve got GOPers calling on the President to use his EO power to address the border issue, that tells you all you need to know. They have taken cognitive dissonance to a whole new level.

Like I was saying earlier, the only way I can make sense of this headline and the news about Republicans being called back to the House is that they went to bed last night convinced they had at least 218 votes to pass the bills and then something happened to change that. I can only assume that the TPers decided the votes weren’t there to pass the bill they really wanted, so they rebelled against the first bill. And since Boehner has such a small margin of error on these votes, he couldn’t find any of those he was willing to excuse from the vote who would go on the record as supporting the bill.

Someone needs to remind these fuckwits that a lot of the land on the border is privately owned. Building that Huge Fucking Fence to keep out the invading brown horde would involve that other RWNJ bugaboo known as eminent domain.

Obviously, the Stasi in East Berlin must have been onto something…

I should mention that this is something I speak of from personal experience, having been one of the far right wing evangelical types who saw nothing wrong with confiscating Arab lands from Suez to Jordan and driving the original occupants into the sea. (Yes, I supported Israel owning eveything from the Suez Canal to the Jordanian border)

I my own defense, I can only say that I was:

1. A kid
2. Raised as a dispensationalist fundamentalist to believe the Rapture and the End Times depended on the presence of Great Israel and the destruction of the Dome of the Rock mosque in order to rebuild the Temple of Solomon.

It actually never occurred to me that Jews across the world had their own history and wishes… which had nothing to do with my millenialist religious mythology, and that nobody had ever asked Jewish people if it was okay with them if we made them part of our bizarre future Revelation fantasy.

I also didn’t think of all the Arabic people who likely had no wish to be part of this grand Christian plan (people which at the time were still left wing Soviet bogeymen to me, since these were the days of the pan Arabic movement and Wahabbist terror groups were limited to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt).

I make my own with sour cream and liptons onion soup mix, much fresher tasting than any of the pre-packaged stuff I have tried. That being said, it is still necessary to “double-up” your Pringles if trying to dip with them. Ridged Ruffles are obviously the preferred alternative where it comes to dipping into anything other than thin fondue.

Pringles are older than a lot of some a couple of lizards…. Pringles were first sold in October 1967, and distributed internationally by 1975.[3] P&G wanted to create a perfect chip to address consumer complaints about broken, greasy, and stale chips, as well as air in the bags.[4]

They had large cans that held four sleeves of crisps. I recall my father making a birdhouse out of one of those. Cut the bottom off and put in wooden plugs on both ends. One of the plugs had a hole and a small perch made of dowel. He put it 20’ up in a maple tree every year and the tree swallows nested in it.

That’s why tortilla chips need to be thick — you can’t dip chunks out of salsa and thus have to scoop.

Yeah…I must be one of the ‘old’ LGFers…and if I am not mistaken the Pringles chips were tested in Ohio first. Being P&G is in Cincinnati. I would have been in 8th grade at the time and that seems about right. Never did like them either. Of course we had a local chip maker in north central Ohio where I grew up that made the best chips of all time. So, the Pringles were at a distinct disadvantage right from the start. And the chip company is still around too. I try my best to stay away from them…once my hand is in the bag, I can’t seem to take it out and put the bag away. Chip addiction.
