The Dumbest Man on the Internet Is Very Excited by Russian Anti-Obama Racism

And his commenters respond with torrents of outright racism and homophobia
Wingnuts • Views: 24,746

Today, the Dumbest Man on the Internet can barely contain his excitement over an ugly racist incident in Moscow — because it was directed against President Obama, of course.

Jim Hoft drools: Russians Shine Laser Show of Obama ‘Fellating’ Banana on US Embassy in Moscow (Video) | the Gateway Pundit.

As usual, Hoft’s idiotic “commentary” barely qualifies as English, and has random sections highlighted in bold text for no reason:

This year on Barack Obama’s birthday a group of Russian activists shined a laser show of Obama fellating a banana on the US Embassy in Moscow.

The laser show was projected on the outside of the US Embassy in Moscow.

The Russians shined the lasers on the embassy on the day of the president’s 53rd birthday.

The laser show switched from Happy Birthday Obama to images of Barack in a birthday hat eating a banana.

A group calling itself ‘The Moscow Student Initiative’ claimed responsibility for the projection. They called the show “a gift to Barack Obama.”

The image isn’t the only thing being “projected;” obviously Hoft sees the banana as a gross phallic symbol instead of a piece of food, but tellingly, he switches randomly back and forth between describing it as “eating” and “fellating.” I think Hoft may have some personal issues he hasn’t dealt with.

But as freakishly grotesque as Hoft’s semi-literate blurts are, his commenters take it to the next level of hate speech, with hundreds of ugly homophobic and overtly racist comments. A small sampling of the knuckle-draggers (I’m hiding this section by default because it’s incredibly disgusting):

Is this a reference to his purported sexual persuasion?

[…]

Yes, Obama is gay. Kudos to the Russians for calling it like it is…
We have a wuss, gay POS socialist community organizer in the WH !

[…]

The world hates Obama. Retribution is coming…it won’t end well for the man. Eventual impeachment (and it IS coming) will be the least of his problems.

[…]

Yep, thats no banana. That’s a man baby.

[…]

I want to see O-bola, O-Dark-Zero Hero of Benghazi frog marched out of the White House wearing black and white striped pajamas with a ball-and-chain around his feet. (And I don’t mean the First Transvestite, either.)

[…]

Thank goodness! I thought the movie was about how Mooch looked like a male ape, with a foot long penis! At least that secret is safe.

[…]

Why are black people so offended by monkeys and bananas. The hysteria they whip up over the comparisons makes me suspicious.

[…]

They know…..too close for comfort, especially since they’re just as close to apes genetically as they are humans, since they don’t have Neanderthal DNA like everyone else does (only exception is Aboriginese).

[…]

And even the Aboriginese were smart enough to get the he11 out of africa and evolve.

[…]

The proper term is faggot. The little queen is a faggot.

[…]

LOL!!! Bangin’ on the bongos like a chimpanzee.

[…]

that wasn’t a banana 0bama was sucking off…. that was Chris matthews small weiner, Bill Clinton’s, and Karl Marx’s small weiners at the gay orgy 0bama usually has with union thugs

[…]

Well usually it wouldn’t be a bannana but rather Moochie’s cock

[…]

Its mooooochelle’s penis. Or any one of the thousands of other penises the little queer clown has ingested.

[…]

How dare they insult monkeys.

[…]

This despicable little traitor deserves nothing less than to be slowly hung by the neck until dead.

[…]

Reggie’s tool in his monkey mouth?

[…]

The Open borders Ape is firing 500 US Army Majors and 300 Captains..

[…]

That’s not Obama. It looks more like a picture of a chimp.

[…]

Should have had him swinging from a tree.

[…]

Liberals:”You must worship Obama, He’s the Messiah”
USA: Nope he’s a chimp from Chicongo….errr I mean Chicago

[…]

LOL, everyone knows he sucks dick. It’s obvious, my only question is if his “daughters” are really his kids, or if they had a donor.

[…]

It would have been factually accurate had they depicted Obama swallowing Michelle’s phallus instead of that banana.

You gotta admire the cojones on McDaniel. He’s not only wanting the Mississippi GOP to invalidate Cochran’s win, he wants them to turn around and give him the nomination, but without first putting it to a vote. He just wants them to take his campaign at their word that the numbers are in his favor and he’s the nominee.

I love that the MS GOP told him to take it to court.

State GOP Chairman Joe Nosef suggested in a letter to McDaniel attorney Mitch Tyner that the candidate move his challenge to the courts. Nosef explained that he would not be able to convene a meeting of the executive committee, citing a law that requires a petition for judicial review to be filed 10 days after a complaint reaches the state party’s executive committee.

Two days later, Federal Security Service (FSS) Director Nikolai Patrushev announced that the Ryazan incident had been a training exercise.[2] This led some, such as Alexander Litvinenko and Anna Politkovskaya, to speculate that the apartment bombings had been carried out by the Russian secret service FSB (formerly KGB).”

And both of them murdered by Putin since.

In Ukraine (and Poland), no one doubts who was behind the bombings, nor behind the downing of the Polish president’s airliner.

It’s a popular idea among the right, the nationalists. There has been an official Polish investigation that blamed mostly the Polish pilots. Macierewicz tried to debunk the results of this commission by creating his own. The result:

Commission’s findings were almost universally ridiculed by experts in the field.[92] Among errors made by Macierewicz’s “experts” - none of which actually had any experience with air crash investigations, or aeronautics at all[93] - were basic errors in performing simulations,[94][95] mistaking trash bags for fallen tree,[96] and plain confabulation.[97] In order to debunk commission’s fringe theories, the Committee for Investigation of National Aviation Accidents created a web page explaining the situation in layman’s terms.[98][99]

Might just be confirmation bias at play. Racists being more likely to simply assume prison life reflects their own views, and racism tending to be a more conservative / revanchist trait therefore such people being more into punishment, less interested in rehabilitation.

If anyone is talking to a wingnut who claims the California drought is a man-made political problem because of the May 2007 court decision to redirect water to the Delta in order to save the Delta smelt, I have a couple of figures that might help.

Since May of 2007, the redirection of water has reduced the amount available for irrigation in the San Joaquin Valley area by ~3,300,000 acre ft. However the drought has removed ~13,333,330 acre ft of water from the same area. That doesn’t include water lost by evaporation.

The drought is measurably the result of a reduction in rainfall, not the redirection of water. The redirection is adding to the problem but it certainly isn’t the reason farmers are suffering. Adding that water back into the irrigation system wouldn’t help the majority of farmers, but a normal rainfall would help them all.

Just as a side note - the Delta suffers an incursion of salt water when the water level drops and that affects the viability of surrounding farmland. Adding water to the Delta not only saves the Delta smelt but reduces the salt content of surrounding areas.

Forgotten but not gone: AOL’s dial-up internet service still makes more money than their ads

At the end of June 2014 AOL had 2.3 million customers using its pre-broadband services, paying on average $20.86 per month.

As most of the costs for getting people onto this service were paid long ago (hardware, infrastructure, advertising, etc) this means the company still makes a whopping $155 million from dial-up, which compares nicely to the $144m it takes home from ads.

Experts have speculated that many of these subscribers might not be aware that they’re still paying for their dial-up service, while others have made the switch to broadband but wrongly believe that dial-up is necessary for the faster service.

Now to SBU’s new theory. While something like this (the terrorists planning to destroy a Russian plane to provide a casus belli) is possible in principle, I’m worried by the fact that they already claim this hypothesis to be the truth, even though in their video -
Youtube Video
there is no evidence of this per se, only evidence that it was possible (because the planes’ routes intersected). Possibility does not translate to probability.
Not to mention that acc. to SBU’s own intercepts the terrorists thought that they downed an Ukrainian military plane (and indeed, that’s how their sources bragged about it to the world in the first hour after the tragedy). This seems simply to contradict that the plane was downed with any such intent.

Yeah, that doesn’t really pass the smell test. If the rebels / terrorists wanted to down a Russian plane they’d have been best served by A.) first moving the launcher as close to the front lines as possible, and B.) asking Russia to give them a Snow Drift command vehicle so they’d know what they were shooting at.

In February 2013, Fournier wrote a column about breaking ties with a White House official after a pattern of “vulgarity, abusive language” and “veiled threat(s)”, but did not identify the official due to his policy of granting blanket automatic anonymity to all his sources.[9] Fournier received some criticism from commentator Glenn Greenwald for behaving in a “petulant” manner and for his policy on anonymity for sources.[10]

Hannity Apparently Upset Colbert Suggested 5-Year-Old Replace Him

Stephen Colbert on Wednesday lauded the star of this week’s viral video, in which an adorable 5-year-old child “apparently” makes his first live television appearance.

But in doing so, Colbert deeply offended Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Colbert calls the child a “natural-born newsman” and jokes that he is leaving the “Colbert Report” because “news anchor babies like this are breathing down my neck.”

“At 5 years old, he’s already got the sincerity of Edward R. Murrow, the reassuring gaze of Walter Cronkite and more gravitas than Steve Doocy,” Colbert said.

Colbert also noted that he already has his own “apparently” catchphrase.

“That is the sort of senseless repetition that marks a real news legend like Sean Hannity,” Colbert said before playing clips of Hannity reporting from Israel constantly using the word “literally.”

“Apparently, that 5-year-old child could replace Sean Hannity,” Colbert said.

The official story was that they indeed captured the Ukrainian Buks, but I take it as a cover story, allowing Russia to supply the Buks. Indeed, the Ukrainian side denied - still before the tragedy - that any Buks were captured.

The biggest problem so far with Putin’s campaign in Eastern Ukraine is simultaneously its biggest asset. There has been a very purposeful separation between the handlers working for the Russian government and the various assets that have been both inserted and developed inside Ukraine. The whole idea was obviously to create deniability for Putin and to make the resistance appear to an organic uprising, instead of what it really is, an astroturfed insurgency.

The problem is that to create this sham they went balls out and for some reason decided to forgo the kind of direct military communications, logistics, command and support structures that would have made the insurgency truly effective. It’s like Putin was totally impressed with his own success in Crimea, and didn’t realize two things. First that the rest of Ukraine wasn’t Crimea, and second that the Crimean annexation was accomplished during a very brief chaotic window of opportunity that followed Yanukovych’s flight towards the end of the Euromaidan campaign.

Another point is that there was unrest among ethnic Russians in either Latvia or Lithuania a couple of years ago, and I seem to recall there was some page where it was shown that a number of the same people also popped up among pro-Russian demonstrators in Ukraine, which lends plausibility to the astroturfed insurgency/unrest angle.
And when one looks at a wider picture, where significant Russian minorities are located and where there has been or is dissent and separatist tendencies, it sure looks like a plan to expand Russia’s borders back to something among the lines of both the pre-1917 and Soviet Union borders overlaid on top of each other.
And yes, there has even been attempts at stirring separatism in Finland which don’t seem to have gained that much traction - so far.

I really don’t like the look of it at all.

Regardless of the technicalities and semantics I still object to anyone using “looting” to describe taking merchandise from a grocery store with 3 or 4 feet of water inside of it. All remaining products within those stores were thrown out during the subsequent clean up and repair efforts anyway.

Can be, a matter of opinion. What it doesn’t necessarily show is racial bias on the photographer’s part.

How soon until Los Angeles decides that it wants water enough that they start pulling more water from the tributaries to Mono Lake than they have agreed to? If I recall there is a long-term project to get the depth of Mono Lake increased over the next decade or so.

That long-term project is the result of a court case. The agreements aren’t there because LA wanted to make them. I don’t think they can make changes to them easily.

The lake level is a little low now, but that’s because of the drought. The low is higher than it was the first time I went though.

When I lived in Montecito it was like pulling teeth trying to convince my landlady that AOL didn’t have some kind of monopoly on her internet access. I rented half a house and was trying to be nice and let her piggyback off my cable broadband wifi network but for some reason she was certain she needed to keep paying AOL to get online.

Not the photographer, nor the caption writer (sometimes the same), but the whole business has that tendency, and I don’t see anything in Snopes to excuse it or explain it away. Doesn’t make one person guilty of anything more than being part of a racist society.

Of course, the banana was a phallic symbol. Do you honestly believe that the Russians are capable of anything more subtle?

The question isn’t why Jim Holt is outraged by that act against an American President - it’s why CJ approves? I don’t care for Obama at all, but damn it, he’s our president, and the Russians have no business insulting America in that manner.
