Yes, he’s a racist

re: #9 HappyWarrior

No, he’s talking about Shawn Parcells, who was trying to explain Baden’s results.

A Kansas City man is now front and center in the controversial shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. Shawn Parcells owns a company that provides autopsy services, and some in the forensic community are taking issue with his involvement in this or any other case.

Parcells owns National Forensic Autopsy and Recovery Services. He says lawyers for the family of Michael Brown contacted him because of his expertise in gunshot wounds.

“I am a forensic pathologist assistant and medical investigator,” Parcells told FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien.

Hoft is picking up local/national news reports that looked into Parcells’ background and questioned his credentials.

Baden’s credentials are above reproach. He’s the one who did the second of three autopsies. The STL county coroner did the first, and a federal expert did the third.

Much more common is his inventing derp out of whole cloth, like the orbital blowout fracture. Less common is taking other derp out of context, warping it beyond reality, and folding it into a neat package for the right wing to disseminate elsewhere.

But the viral phenomenon known as the “Ice Bucket Challenge” has not only raised awareness but also money for the ALS Association. More than $15.5 million has been raised over the past month, compared to $1.6 million during the same time-span last year.

86 Ryan King  Aug 20, 2014 8:56:14am
According to his account to the Ferguson police, Officer Wilson said that Mr. Brown had lowered his arms and moved toward him, law enforcement officials said. Fearing that the teenager was going to attack him, the officer decided to use deadly force. Some witnesses have backed up that account. Others, however — including Mr. [Dorian] Johnson — have said that Mr. Brown did not move toward the officer before the final shots were fired.

Really? Where are these witnesses?

I find it hard to believe that Brown was running away from a gun being shot at him, would stop, then turn around and charge at the man firing a gun at him.

Not impossible, but really not plausible.

Excellent police work in Ferguson once again. Woman shot at a protest last week has yet to be interviewed by FPD.

Aaten-White told the Riverfront Times that while she’s heard that police came and confiscated the bullet that was lodged in her forehead from the shooting. But after that it’s been… radio silence from the Ferguson Police Department. “Radio silence” might even be generous; apparently they haven’t returned to interview her or otherwise investigate the incident.

The police do seem to have told the press, as the Riverfront Times notes, that they consider the shooting a “drive-by” and that they’re looking for “four or five” men. But, Aaten-White told Riverfront Times:

Aaten-White says she didn’t see a car or a weapon, and the only “four or five” young black men she observed were the ones who brought her to safety.

“Those words never came out of my mouth. I didn’t know what people were talking about. I never said it was a drive-by,” she says. “Those young men carried me and saved my life.”

Aaten-White has since been sent home. Her attorney apparently hasn’t been able to find out anything about the incident either. He told the paper there doesn’t even seem to be a file or a report on record with the Ferguson police department. And the Riverfront Times had no better luck at getting answers.

The FBI and DOJ are looking at FPD practices overall, as well as the specific acts in the Brown case.

Would it be surprising that they’re not exactly investigating this shooting as vigorously as they should?

Questions that journalists (including Gawker) should look at: what is the clearance rate on crimes in Ferguson, and whether there’s a disparity based on who was the victim of the crime. And does that differ from MO and national statistics.

re: #86 Ryan King

Really? Where are these witnesses?

I find it hard to believe that Brown was running away from a gun being shot at him, would stop, then turn around and charge at the man firing a gun at him.

Not impossible, but really not plausible.

I see the FPD’s story, if the NYT is to be believed, is changing again. Now it’s not that Brown charged, it’s that he turned around and started moving back towards Wilson. And if Brown put his arms down, that would mean he had to have them up. So why, if he was looking to attack Wilson, did he have his arms up?

Quite honestly, it now sounds like they’re moving to argue that Wilson misinterpreted Brown’s surrender as aggression. Perhaps because those “witnesses” that supposedly back up Wilson’s version of events didn’t see him “charging.”

I think the only hope now is for DOJ to charge Wilson on a federal level. I think FPD ruined any chance of a fair investigation and trial the minute that they let Wilson skip town.

If we assume the gun discharged in the car once, and 9 shots were fired in sum, then that’s 8 ‘mistakes’ made, of which 6 appear to have hit Brown.

I now find myself wondering if the truth is somewhere between Johnson and this. That Wilson tried to get out of his SUV and the door bounced back, smacking Wilson in the face. He overreacted in blind anger and lashed out at Brown, assuming he’d purposefully slammed the door back. The two struggled over Wilson’s gun and when it went off, Brown began hauling ass.

Wilson, finally getting out of his car and pissed off, took a couple shots at Brown. Either one grazing his arm or just one going by was enough to make him realize this cop would shoot him if he didn’t stop, so he turned around to surrender. And when he started to put his arms down, figuring that Wilson would want to cuff him, the dumbass cop instead interpreted that as Brown preparing to attack and started firing in “self-defense.”

The 2003 Lawrence v. Texas decision and the 2013 Windsor v. United States decision, however, have legitimized homosexual equality, meaning that gay adulthood is now a socially acceptable and legally protected condition. From this “emerging awareness” (to quote Justice Anthony Kennedy’s decision in Lawrence) it is logical to assume that one purpose of education now is to prepare young people for their lives as gay adults. Post-Windsor, you will be condemned as a homophobic hater if you disapprove of gay advocacy in public schools, and all opposition to such advocacy must be swept away in the name of “social justice.”

Johnson admits that Brown stole the Rillos. It appears (my opinion) that they both went to the store and purchased goods, but Brown snatched the Rillos at a point in time and the clerk confronted him.

So it’s a theft, or petty theft. Brown paid for something it appears, but not everything.

It isn’t surprising that FPD appears to be incapable of dealing effectively with real crime. Its main function appears to be extorting from the poor via traffic and court fines.

dailykos.com

A few salient points from the white paper linked at the DKos article:

Ferguson is a city located in northern St. Louis County with 21,203 residents living in 8,192 households. The majority (67%) of residents are African-American, while the remainder (29%) are largely white. Ferguson’s unemployment rate is 14.3%, more than double that of both St. Louis County (6.1%) and Missouri (6.6%), and a full 10% of the city’s 9,105 housing units are vacant. 22% of residents live below the poverty level, including 35.3% of children under 18, and 21.7% received food stamps in the last year. Despite Ferguson’s relative poverty, fines and court fees comprise the second largest source of revenue for the city, a total of $2,635,400.72. In 2013, the Ferguson Municipal Court disposed of 24,532 warrants and 12,018 cases, or about 3 warrants and 1.5 cases per household.

A competent grand jury investigation takes time. Whether they need until October or not is debatable. The question is whether McCullough can be impartial and that evidence gathered can support an indictment. I wonder if he can be impartial given his background, his history, and track record.

The evidence that is publicly known thus far would seem to be sufficient for an indictment on manslaughter, if not 2d degree murder. The question, as it does in most officer-involved shootings, is whether the officer feared for his life or the lives of others when he opened fire - giving him the legitimate right to use deadly force. The prosecutor is likely to lean towards giving Wilson that benefit, which would then ignore the excessive force used thereafter.

re: #158 gwangung

A competent police department would, but it would still have a hard time getting outoftowners who have made bail to come back. In a place like Ferguson, I suspect that the cost would be prohibitive for anything less than a major felony. And this is without taking into account court resources and the length of a small town court docket. That could be another reason why the reporters were arrested but not actually booked for anything. If they were actually placed on the books, then the reporters would have a reason to come back with better paid and trained lawyers than the local constabulary are used to.

Better to hope those folks simply never come back.

Recycling the same week old news reporting recaps to claim proof that he had a blowout fracture?

Police claimed he had some kind of facial injury (per a presser held last week). No word on the kind of injury, the extent of the injury, or how it happened.

Because the FPD have withheld all information relating to the actual chain of events at the site of the fatal encounter. They instead have offered up video of an incident at a local market that they claimed they released only because of the FOIA requests but which the FPD said didn’t relate to the stop and that Wilson didn’t know of the robbery attempt. It took days before they offered up Wilson’s name at all.

They’re hiding behind MRS 610.100 to claim that the report is privileged and can’t be released, even though there’s good legal arguments to make that the document of the actual incident is not the actual investigation.

Hoft is playing his part well - obfuscating, smearing, and doing all he can to blame Brown for being shot and killed by Wilson. Blame the victim, excuse the shooter. That’s what Hoft is up to.

I read an interesting article at the Columbia Journalism Review site. It’s a bit dated (written before Wilson was named) but gives insight into legalities surrounding why the FPD and StLC investigators withheld (are withholding) info.

Microsoft Ditches ALEC In Latest Blow To Conservative Group

Microsoft joins Coca-Cola, General Motors, Bank of America, and Proctor & Gamble as some of the major corporations that have severed their relationship with ALEC, according to CNET. Others — like Google, Facebook, eBay, Yahoo, and Yelp — remain involved with the group.

CNET linked Microsoft’s decision with ALEC’s bid to stop renewable energy projects. As The Guardian reported last year, Microsoft has begun investing in renewable energy, including an announcement that it would run one of its data centers entirely with electricity produced by a wind farm in Texas.

Local pastors are calling on Malik Shabazz, formerly of the NBP to get out of town, and that he’s doing more to stir up trouble than help.

Pastors are pointing the finger at Malik Shabazz, the former leader of the New Black Panther Party, and many church leaders want him to leave Ferguson.

“I am upset with a certain group of them that are rebel rousers. We know them by name. Last night was the scariest night of my life,” said Pastor Mike Robinson.

Robinson said there is growing concern over Shabazz and what he is doing in Ferguson.

“We want Officer Darren Wilson arrested, we’re here for Mike Brown,” Shabazz said. “We’re here for Mike Brown and we’re not going to let outside infiltrators come and destroy our good movement.”

Robinson said Shabazz is an attorney from Washington D.C. who is causing problems.

“I literally watched him cause chaos within a large group of people and prepare to send them to the front line, then he shifts and says ‘let’s keep the peace.’ We’re calling him out. We want him out of our city, we don’t need his help at all, and he’s doing nothing but cause chaos.”

According to the Anti-Defamation League, Shabazz is trying to recast himself as a serious civil rights leader that inserts himself in high profile, racially charged situations. The Southern Poverty Law Center says Shabazz is skilled at organizing provocative protests.

ISIS “speaks for no religion… No faith teaches people to massacre innocents,” Obama said. “No just god would stand for what they do every day. (ISIS) has no ideology of value to human beings. Their ideology is bankrupt.

“They may claim out of expediency they are at war with the United States or the West. The fact is they terrorize their neighbors and offer them nothing but endless slavery to their empty vision. The collapse of any definition of civilized behavior,” he continued. ” People like this ultimately fail. They fail because futures are won by those who build, not destroy, shaped by people like Jim Foley and overwhelming majority of humanity are appalled by those who killed him.”

What would happen if the races were reversed and Brown was white and Wilson was black? The people who have come to Wilson’s defense would flip and would be demanding that Wilson be strung up for murdering a good white kid for no reason. They’d be pushing for lawsuits against the PD for releasing information unrelated to the investigation (the market video), and they’d demand that the focus be kept on the officer’s actions and not on the victim.

Yeah but facts never got in the way of a good lie. Really, let’s see actual photos of Wilson’s eye. Let’s have actual witnesses with actual names collaborate his story. Oh wait, they can’t do that.

Of course not. If they name witnesses, then the angry mob will go around and intimidate them into changing their stories. Gotta keep them, and their stories anonymous even as we continually assert that they “corroborate” whatever version of Wilson’s story we’re trying to sling.

250 lawhawk  Aug 20, 2014 10:41:41am

All the witnesses to the incident say that Wilson shot Brown.

All of the witnesses indicate that Brown was unarmed.

The difference comes in how Wilson initiated contact with Brown and Johnson and what Brown did after Wilson initiated contact.

Some witnesses claim Brown reached into the car. Others indicate that Wilson grabbed Brown into the car.

All witnesses agree that Brown was shot to death by Wilson.

Any reasonable observer would know that the key to a prosecution is the item I highlighted above. Hoft is trying to obfuscate and put the blame for the incident, and the ensuing use of deadly force on Brown. That’s even as multiple witnesses agree that Wilson was with his hands up.

We can’t get a complete forensics picture because the investigators have not released details that would inform on those points (such as where everyone was standing when each shot was fired, how many bullets were fired, where they were fired, etc.)

The black community? They’d be like - this happens to us every day - where cops kill black kids for no reason, so why start with media attention now, when a white kid is killed in an excessive force instance.

i disagree

it’s only been a few decades since a black kid was brutally lynched for looking at a white lady the wrong way. many of the people involved are still alive

a few years ago a gay kid was dragged behind a car until he was dead

groups of people who historically have been vulnerable to violence continue to be vulnerable to violence, and people who feel they have a right to commit violence against vulnerable people continue to feel they have a right to commit violence against vulnerable people

It helps to remember that the Hoft crowd was trying to convince people that George Zimmerman had suffered deep lacerations and a skull fracture due to have his head “repeatedly slammed into the concrete,” and was danger in choking on his own blood from his broken nose, despite the medical report saying he had some cuts, a broken nose, and no signs of a concussion besides a mild headache.

I posted in a different thread that I’ve broken one of my orbital bones taking a baseball to the face. Blood was streaming out my nose. Complete vision loss in the eye. I imagine that if this was indeed a “bone crunching” punch, as has been asserted, that the impact was at least in the neighborhood of what happened when the baseball hit me.

Was I ambulatory after taking the blow? Sure. But I certainly didn’t forget that I had been hit and I certainly knew that I had a pretty significant injury. There is no way that he would’ve been able to ignore the issue.

And swelling? When my mom came to see me (I was in college at the time), she walked into my room from my “bad side”. She didn’t even recognize me.

Oh, to add, I was ultimately released—after about 4-5 hours, which included a cat scan for a concussion; a visit from an eye specialist; and other assorted treatments. I still went back to the dorm and vomited blood that night. I had to sleep upright to reduce swelling, then had a return visit to the doc to check for a detached retina, double vision, etc.

Point being—this isn’t the type of injury that entails a quickie check up and off you go. It’s an ordeal.

That’s not entirely true either. An orbital blowout fracture can be minor, for which treatment includes oral antibiotics and steroids to reduce pain and swelling. More severe instances can require surgery to repair the damage done.

It clearly didn’t require surgery, because we know Wilson was released and left town.

So, the question is whether Wilson’s injuries are consistent with a minor orbital blowout fracture, or no fracture at all. Given that we know the symptoms of this kind of injury are double vision and blurry vision, it undermines the claims that he had this kind of injury because it would have affected his aim (6 shots hit Brown’s torso and head) and he wasn’t immediately sent to the hospital for treatment (because even minor fractures could lead to the loss of vision).

Fox reports another police leak:
Missouri cop was badly beaten

EXCLUSIVE: Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department’s top brass told foxnews.com.

“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

But he was well enough to get out of his SUV and put six rounds into a moving target, including the kill shot.

281 lawhawk  Aug 20, 2014 10:57:37am

re: #277 jaunte

Yup, and this leak is giving credence to Hoft’s claims.

The source claims that there is “solid proof” that there was a struggle between Brown and Wilson for the policeman’s firearm, resulting in the gun going off - although it still remains unclear at this stage who pulled the trigger. Brown started to walk away according to the account, prompting Wilson to draw his gun and order him to freeze. Brown, the source said, raised his hands in the air, and turned around saying, “What, you’re going to shoot me?”

At that point, the source told foxnews.com, the 6 foot, 4 inch, 300-pound Brown charged Wilson, prompting the officer to fire at least six shots at him, including the fatal bullet that penetrated the top of Brown’s skull, according to an independent autopsy conducted at the request of Brown’s family.

Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in the fracas, and was left dazed by the initial confrontation, the source said. He is now “traumatized, scared for his life and his family, injured and terrified” that a grand jury, which began hearing evidence on Wednesday, will “make some kind of example out of him,” the source said.

The source also said the dashboard and body cameras, which might have recorded crucial evidence, had been ordered by Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson, but had only recently arrived and had not yet been deployed.

It’s a post 9-11 CIA type show. The British perspective is interesting. It has over 10 “volumes” so it will be interesting to see how the ideology of the show changes over all the “volumes.” I’m on #4.

There was one show in which they had to capitulate to the US Secret Service for Bush’s visit to see Tony Blair. I rather enjoyed that. Not because I think we are superior, but because it showed the British perspective of American arrogance.

The anonymous source is a liar.

However, foxnews.com’s source insisted that there was absolutely no spin agenda behind the tape’s release and that there were a number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) media requests filed by media outlets seeking it. Tom Jackson is said to have waited on publicly releasing it, and did not want it shown until Brown’s grieving mother first had the chance to see it.

“He defied the FOIAs as long as he could,” noted the insider. “A powerful, ugly spin has completely ruined public discourse on this whole situation.”

Is there proof of no FOIA request for the tape that nobody knew existed?

Thanks for your information. It seems important that dealing such a blow with a fist would leave tell tale injuries on the hand as well——-something the autopsy did not find present. It is possible, however that the car door bumped Wilson’s face. Judging from how he looked in the video immediately following the shooting spree, there could have been no significant injury. He was not bleeding and he did not even touch his face or eye area. The other officer was also not acting like, “Hey, let me check out your face——it looks like you have an injury….”

What does he say about wounds to Brown’s hands (bruising, hemorrhaging, etc.)? That would be dispositive as to whether he hit Wilson with sufficient force to do as Hoft claims.

And yet we haven’t seen a picture. Just a steady stream of leaks to move the meter against Brown. I don’t think there’s anyone that wouldn’t view the situation a bit differently if there was a picture of Wilson that was consistent with him having received a “severe” beating.

Beaten nearly unconscious, with a facial fracture no less, but able to get out of the car, line up on Brown, and fire multiple rounds, six of which hit Brown at distance (which is still undetermined because Baden’s autopsy could not conclusively determine whether there was GSR due to the fact that he didn’t have the clothes to test).

Beaten nearly unconscious, but not taken away in an ambulance once backup arrived.

You know, I thought it was implausible that a guy who followed a teenager through a neighborhood and confronted him, when he’d been told not to by the police, and who wound up killing said unarmed teenager, could be considered to not have, in fact, instigated the killing of said teenager.

Police appear to have ‘lost’ the bullet that struck Mya Aaten-White and was removed from her skull.

She also retained Marwan Porter, a Florida-based attorney who specializes in cases involving police misconduct and personal injury. He’s in town now, and Daily RFT spoke with him yesterday as he drove to the Ferguson Police Department to try to obtain Aaten-White’s case files.

“We want to find out who and what agency took possession of the bullet,” he said. “We want to identify who was responsible for firing the weapon that ended up with a bullet being lodged in the front of Mya’s head.”

When we spoke with him several hours later, the story just got weirder.

“I’ve talked to both the St. Louis County Police Department and Ferguson…they have no record…no file number, no report,” he said. “They don’t have anything.”

As anyone who’s watched L&O, NCIS, Bones, or CSI would know, if you’ve been involved in a fight and were found deceased, the coroner/medical examiner would find bruising on the hands, unless the person didn’t put up a struggle. The reason that we know this is because it’s an accurate reflection of what coroners find when reviewing the remains of someone who fought back and died. It’s a trope of tv shows dating back to Quincy because it’s true.

Baden’s statements regarding the autopsy don’t indicate any bruising to the hands indicative of a fight.

We’d have to wait for the official autopsy, and the DOJ autopsy to confirm that there was/wasn’t any bruising that would indicate that Brown landed a punch on Wilson.

Most police officers have had experience, not just with charging psychos, but with reckless types trying to punch them through a car window. Few of the latter end up being shot, though other forms of rough treatment are commonplace. I’ve never tried it myself, but hitting somewhere through a car window is apparently hard to do. During my deputy days, I had a 50 year old truck driver throw a punch at me through my window. Unlike the fat teenager who had charged me a little earlier, this was a tough, scary looking guy. Scary but stupid. I ducked, he knocked my cap off and broke three of his fingers against the door frame. I think I was laughing too hard to shoot him, as he jumped around screaming and holding his bloodied hand (they were bad fractures). He was not handcuffed nor did he go immediately to jail, a visit to the ER came first and jail later.

DSM-4-TR

A) There is a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three or more of the following:

- failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest;
- deception, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure;
- impulsivity or failure to plan ahead;
- irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults;
- reckless disregard for safety of self or others;
- consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;
- lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another;

B) The individual is at least age 18 years.
C) There is evidence of conduct disorder with onset before age 15 years.
D) The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode.

ASPD falls under the dramatic/erratic cluster of personality disorders

ICD-10

The WHO’s International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, tenth edition (ICD-10), has a diagnosis called dissocial personality disorder (F60.2):[10][11]

It is characterized by at least 3 of the following:

- Callous unconcern for the feelings of others;
- Gross and persistent attitude of irresponsibility and disregard for social norms, rules, and obligations;
- Incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, though having no difficulty in establishing them;
- Very low tolerance to frustration and a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence;
- Incapacity to experience guilt or to profit from experience, particularly punishment;
- Marked readiness to blame others or to offer plausible rationalizations for the behavior that has brought the person into conflict with society.

The ICD states that this diagnosis includes “amoral, antisocial, asocial, psychopathic, and sociopathic personality”. Although the disorder is not synonymous with conduct disorder, presence of conduct disorder during childhood or adolescence may further support the diagnosis of dissocial personality disorder. There may also be persistent irritability as an associated feature.

It is a requirement of the ICD-10 that a diagnosis of any specific personality disorder also satisfies a set of general personality disorder criteria.

I’d be interested heh in what the highest upding was for yesterday and then seeing what it was for the same date ten years ago. Ditto downdings.This place has changed and for the better.

It was more than just saying she should have had an abortion, it’s implying that she should have because he has Down’s syndrome. That moves far too uncomfortably close to eugenics-type arguments for me.

There were lots of other things to criticize her for without needing to go there.

I am absent from that pile-on.
I think what raised the ire of the then-lizards was not so much the poster’s opposition to McCain’s choice of Palin, as the attack on Palin’s children, in particular the decision to bring Trig into the world with Downs syndrome and to hold Bristol out of school during her pregnancy. These are very personal decisions that outsiders should not try to second guess. It also didn’t help that the poster used the expression “trailer trash.” I would have given it about a thousand downdings for that alone if I had them and had been there.

Right, that part bothers me too. I had no issue with what she chose to do in regards to having her child. I did take issue with Palin using Trigg as a defense mechanism against attacks on her though and then claiming that liberals hate kids with DS. That one hurt personally. My great aunt had Downs Syndrome and my grandfather, her little brother loved her very much and he was liberal. Hell though on the subject of Bristol, Obama as a candidate showed a lot of class there that I know for a fact would have not been offered his way. He talked about being the child of a teen mom himself and wished Bristol well. I can’t imagine any GOP candidate showing any class to Obama’s family if one of his daughter’s at that age were unwed and pregnant. Hell they’d be using it as “proof” of their superior “family values” and the usual suspects would be talking about unwed blacks and pregnancies. I have a lot of problems with Palin but being a 40+ year old mom was far from them. It’s Pro-Choice after all and my own youngest brother was born when our mom was 42.

I was called “trailer trash” a lot when I was young. It hurts because I knew that people less capable than I were using it to try to close doors to me. I hate aristocrats in general and the tin horn pseudo-aristocracy of middle America in particular. They still cannot understand why so many intellectuals hold them in abject contempt or why the occasional self-made millionaire goes out of his or her way to piss on them when the chance arises.

426 HappyWarrior  Aug 20, 2014 12:05:21pm

YEah, it’s one thing to criticize Sarah Palin and I have done my share of that but I stayed away from criticizing her kids until Bristol and Willow showed themselves to be just as nasty as Mom when they posted homophobic slurs at a critic of hers and attacked POTUS for coming out n favor of gay marriage and like Momma Palin claiming that Obama watched too much Glee with Michelle and their girls and that was why he had decided that. I have much more respect for Bush’s twins, and Meaghan McCain than the Palin older daughters and after last election Romney’s sons who are dicks just like their Dad too.

I thought for a sec I had lost a brother to the derp side. He posted this on FB. (Didn’t write it.)

Why We Didn’t Vaccinate Our Child

But no, it is sane.

We’re not ashamed to say that there are many vaccines we haven’t given our child. Here’s why…

Pertussis, also known as “whooping cough”, is a bacterial disease that can permanently injure or kill a child. Despite the pertussis epidemic currently sweeping California, we didn’t vaccinate our son against pertussis, because he’s only one month old. And you can’t vaccinate a child against pertussis until he is like two months old. Of course we will when he’s old enough. We’re not morons.

Yellow fever is a viral disease that’s common in Africa and parts of South America. It’s pretty much non-existent in the U.S., so it would be kinda silly to vaccinate our son against it now. No one does that. But if we’re ever going to be visiting those parts of the world, of course we’ll vaccinate him against Yellow fever. We’re not drooling idiots with no regard for the welfare of our child.

[…]

[Emphasis added.]

It goes on like that. Actually, it gets better.

not only were they against this heinous degradation of the sacred rights of state legislators, but they they had wilson retroactively promoting an amendment that was pushed by republican senators and passed before he was even nominated

491 lawhawk  Aug 20, 2014 12:56:46pm

AP runs story about Wilson’s family background, much of which is irrelevant to Wilson’s actions on the day he shot and killed Brown. That his parents divorced when he was young, that his mother had multiple arrests and a lengthy criminal record of her own are, what’s the word I’m looking for, oh yes, here it is: IRRELEVANT.

Online court records show that Wilson’s mother — Tonya Durso, also known as Tonya Harris — pleaded guilty in 2001 to a dozen felony stealing and forgery counts in Missouri’s St. Charles County just west of St. Louis and was sentenced to five years on probation, with the judge suspending a five-year prison sentence. Durso was 35 when she died in 2002, and Wilson was placed under the guardianship of Tyler Harris until a St. Charles County judge dissolved that in mid-2004.

Wilson, who has Missouri hunting and fishing licenses, did not answer the AP’s knock Tuesday on his door at his brick, ranch-style home in Missouri’s Crestwood, a largely white St. Louis suburb some 18 miles southwest of Ferguson.

Yet another example of the media sucking. Just because there’s a piece of information about Wilson’s family out there doesn’t mean that it’s relevant to what happened. That he had firearms licenses is irrelevant. That his parents got divorced is irrelevant and so too is the fact that his mother passed away and he was placed in guardianship in 2002 is also irrelevant.

It all adds up to an attempt to make Wilson a more sympathetic figure, and has nothing to do with his killing Brown.

Any minute now, Hoft will be tweeting about how malicious Blacks are beating up innocent white Communists in Ferguson.

Someone send him that vine of Antonio French pushing the RCP guy down and tell him it “shows Antonio French a black alderman and community leader assaulting an innocent white protestor.”

He just might go for it and god knows what he would come up with to embellish the story. That would be friggin hilarious, besides Charles could then do a post on how Jim Hoft defends Revolutionary Communist agitators, lmao!

Ah, OK - hadn’t seen that. However - if true, this debunks Hoft’s story about the “blowout fracture” if he was treated and released for “swelling” and nothing more.

Reuters quoted the police on it, Wednesday:

Noticed something odd from the Reuters quote, jaunte #240:
[snip] one of the few details released about events surrounding the Saturday night shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Thot it was about noon, Ferguson, MO local time. Maybe Reuters routinely goes by GMT?
