Right Wing Blogger Chuck C. Johnson Claims the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Is “Working With” Him

Tweeted this morning by the far right blogger who’s so evil-minded even a lot of conservatives despise him:

The equally disgusting Jim Hoft echoes Chuck C. Johnson’s claim in a new post, with no source whatsoever (which means his source is probably Chuck C. Johnson), titled: Breaking: St. Louis Post-Dispatch Also Files Lawsuit for Michael Brown’s Arrest Records.

The Gateway Pundit can confirm today that The St. Louis Post-Dispatch also filed suit for Michael Brown’s arrest records.

If this is true, the Post-Dispatch is collaborating with the worst people in the right wing in what can only be described as a pure character assassination smear. Even if Michael Brown did have a juvenile arrest record, it’s absolutely irrelevant to his shooting death; the only possible reason to try to get his juvenile records is to further poison the well.

I found no mention of this purported lawsuit at their website, but I’ve emailed the Post-Dispatch asking if this claim is true and I’ll update this article if/when I receive a reply. I also contacted their account on Twitter:

So it’s true after all.

Post-Dispatch Seeks Juvenile Court Records.

In response to a number of inquiries today, I wanted to confirm that the Post-Dispatch filed a petition last week with the St. Louis County Family Court seeking the release of any juvenile court records it may have relating to Michael Brown.

The court filing is just one avenue of many in our continuing commitment to cover a significant news story for our community.

We have taken this action as a professional news organization, independently and not in conjunction with any other organization, as we seek to report facts and not rely on innuendo or speculation.

Note that Chuck C. Johnson was lying that the Post-Dispatch was “working with” him.

It’s still very, very disappointing that they’re doing this. It’s a completely irrelevant issue. I can only think it’s driven by a desire to attract a right wing audience.

Californian lawmakers passed a law on Thursday requiring universities to adopt “affirmative consent” language in their definitions of consensual sex, part of a nationwide drive to curb sexual assault on U.S. campuses.

The measure, passed unanimously by the California State Senate, has been called the “yes-means-yes” bill. It defines sexual consent between people as “an affirmative, conscious and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity”.

The bill states that silence and a lack of resistance do not signify consent and that drugs or alcohol do not excuse unwanted sexual activity.

Based on a posting by Judicial Watch, claiming that their sources indicate that there’s a threat of VBIEDs coming across the border from the Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez.

Trying to get a vehicle across the border is a whole different level of expertise than trying to get people across the border. A whole lot more difficult to do - and a whole lot easier to spot.

It’s a threat, to be sure, but it’s not a ZOMG 11ty threat.

Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.

They update them every six months or so. The latest came out two weeks ago:

Chihuahua: Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua City, and Copper Canyon are major cities/travel destinations in Chihuahua - Exercise caution in traveling to the business and shopping districts in the northeast section of Ciudad Juarez and its major industrial parks, and the central downtown section and major industrial parks in Chihuahua City. U.S. citizens should defer non-essential travel to other areas of these cities and anywhere else in the state of Chihuahua and travel during daylight hours between cities. In Ciudad Juarez, personal travel by U.S. government employees outside the north/central and northeast portion of the city near the Consulate General is restricted and private U.S. citizens should defer non-essential travel to those areas as well. In Chihuahua City, U.S. government personnel and their family members are permitted to travel only to the central business districts and the city’s airport. Personal vehicular travel during daylight hours by U.S. government personnel and family members is authorized between Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua using the Highway 45 toll road. Although homicide rates in Ciudad Juarez have decreased markedly from a peak several years ago, the city still has one of the highest homicide rates in Mexico. Crime and violence remain serious problems throughout the state of Chihuahua, particularly in the southern portion of the state and in the Sierra Mountains, including Copper Canyon. U.S. citizens do not, however, appear to be targeted based on their nationality.

STL Post Dispatch has a reporter covering the courts. If there’s a decision being handed down, they’ll be there. Doesn’t mean that just because they’re in the same room that Chuck and the Post Dispatch are working on this together - let alone going to come to the same conclusions.

Johnson’s posts upon the decision are going to be predictable - especially if the motion is denied.

But what’ll be even more funny is how quiet he’ll get when the records are released and there’s nothing indicating any kind of violent record at all.

All while the incontrovertible fact remains is that Wilson shot an unarmed black man with a 3 second break between volleys.

Abbott Cancelled Debate

Current AG and Gubernatorial candidate, Greg Abbott, takes a page out of the Rick Perry playbook and refuses to debate Wendy Davis (as previously scheduled)

AUSTIN — Attorney General Greg Abbott backed down from a televised gubernatorial debate scheduled for the end of next month, WFAA reported this morning.

Abbott, GOP nominee in the governor’s race, was set to spar Sen. Wendy Davis, the Democratic nominee, in a statewide debate hosted by WFAA-TV in Dallas Sept. 30 but stepped down Friday citing format concerns.

“Due to our inability to agree on specific details of the format, Attorney General Greg Abbott will regretfully not be participating in the WFAA debate,” said Robert Black, Abbott’s senior campaign advisor, told WFAA.

According to his acceptance letter, Abbott agreed to the debate with a few requests on the terms, including: candidates would be seated at a table, the debate would be held in a studio with no live audience, and that the debate last no longer than an hour.

“We look forward to negotiating any additional issues with all parties involved,” the letter said.

The station described the debate as a roundtable. A WFAA-TV representative said the terms initially requested in the letter were met. It’s not clear at this time whether the Abbott campaign attempted to negotiate any additional terms with the station.

Now, we all know why Perry didn’t want to debate his opponents for TX Governor. Ooops! Abbott may be just as stupid, or worse.

The Post-Dispatch may be doing this because they suspect there is nothing, or almost nothing there. It could blow the conservative bigot smear campaign to bits.
Note that none of MB’s associates, classmates, or family have mentioned any juvenile trouble. Bigots like Hoft and ChuckC would simply attribute this to a conspiracy of silence they assume to exist in what they see as a crime ridden and dishonest population. In real life, though, a kid does not behave like a thug to the degree alleged without making some enemies and stepping on toes.

As the last child of 6, I don’t have memories of weeks spent with Grandparents, or any other close relationship with them. They were already in their 70s by the time I remember them at all, and my Mom’s father had already died when I was only 6. The older kids all have stories about him, and my other grandparents that I missed out on.

Sadly because my own children were born when I was already in my mid 30s, they never got to really know their grandparents, either.
