Fear the Wrath of Chuck C. Johnson and His Mighty 150 IQ

Inadvertently hilarious
Wingnuts • Views: 36,497

Today we find right wing racist smear artist Chuck C. Johnson totally freaking out because he was criticized by Salon writer Joanna Rothkopf in this article about his character assassination of Michael Brown: This Michael Brown Character Smearing Is Particularly Awful.

In the course of his inadvertently hilarious meltdown, Johnson brags about his “150+ IQ” and says he reads two whole books a week! And he threatens to destroy anyone foolish enough to criticize him by digging into their personal lives.

Right wing journalism at its finest, ladies and gentlemen!

We can also now reveal Johnson’s violent tendencies, with a picture of him brandishing a firearm with a menacing, malevolent smirk; clearly, we’re dealing with a thuggish, violent gangbanger here.

It was something about how MB’s girlfriend was cheating on him and how she just loved the Ferguson “riots”.

Let the mockery begin.

When I was 14, for my German language class in high school, I had to read a German-language book and give a book report on it (thankfully, in English) so I did Kant’s Kritik der reinen Vernunft [Critique of Pure Reason].

44 Franklin  Sep 8, 2014 12:10:57pm

Interesting twist:

Every year at this time, we begin to eyeball NFL rosters for veteran players who could be cut due to the reality that, if they are on any team as of Week One, their full base salaries become, as a practical matter, guaranteed.

The rule comes from Article XXIII of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which provides each player having four or more seasons in the league with a one-time right to “termination pay.”

If a so-called “vested veteran” is on a team at the start of the season and thereafter is released, he has the right to collect the balance of his base salary for the season — even if he later signs with another team.

I’m willing to bet that this wasn’t the first time he’s hit her. Her readily agreeing to marry him and her “apology” I think to me anyhow were signs of a battered spouse. It really is too bad. Sweet zombie Jeebus there are some terminally stupid people in this world.

In a discussion on the Ray Rice firing and suspension, one doofus is whining because, “Its a personal situation, sick of the moral police. At this rate everyone will be fired and let go for doing or saying something that may make people upset. As a society we are going down a very slippery slope.” Another doofus is bitching because, “They can’t do this. It’s double jeopardy.”

NFL is in total cover-their-ass mode over this. Too little, too late in my opinion. Do we know anything more today about the Rice incident than they did at the time the 2-game suspension was handed down? No.

It really depends on whether they had the video or not. The 2 game suspension was always a joke, but there is a difference between, say, pushing someone, and a left cross to the face. If they didn’t have the details, I don’t think it’s fair to say that we don’t know more today than before. If the NFL did have the tape? It’s despicable.

You’ll have to ask the women that. I have no idea, but I do know that it’s more common than one would think.

It is, and I know that, but I still struggle to wrap my mind around it. It’s tragic and I really wish there was something more that could be done to help women break out of badly abusive relationships like this. Mrs. Fish apparently saw the TMZ videos and wondered why they were bashing the NFL; I had to explain to her the light suspension he got.

I’m struggling to figure out why in the hell she went ahead and married him, since this incident occurred prior to said event. Pretty sure if I’d pulled a Ray Rice with the Mrs. Fish, she would’ve bounced my head off her foot a few times, shoved the ring down my throat, and left.

There is a pathology at work. My understanding is that many abusers seek out women who have some issue that makes them think they deserve it. It’s really sad.

$$$$$$$$$$.

I’m sure that’s exactly why women stay with their abusers. You’ve hit the nail on the head. There’s no possible other dynamics that we see play out time and time again, where the abuser has isolated the victim, convinced them it’s their fault, that their only hope is to stay with the abuser, nope, none of that. It’s all just about the money. Because women know where it’s at, yep.

////////

I recommend doing some reading about domestic violence and why women might stay with their abuser. There’s lots of resources out there.

133 A Mom Anon  Sep 8, 2014 12:42:07pm

re: #97 thedopefishlives

It’s not so simple as that. I wish it were. There’s a lot of interpersonal psychological stuff going on in those situations. I know from experience. It’s hard to leave. There’s fear, first and foremost. THE most dangerous time for a woman in this situation is when she packs it up and leaves. She has to do it with an escort or in secret. And even then, after she’s gone, he will try to find her, threaten her and make her life hell.

Next is one’s own self worth. I believed my abuser when he told me no one else would want me, I was worthless, a whore, used up, etc, etc, ad nauseum. Combine that with terror and it’s hard to move forward. What it took for me was a co worker intervening and giving me a safe place and a support network. And do you know, to this day almost thirty years later I am still scared this guy might find me? He threatened to kill me, my kids and anyone I loved if he ever found me. I don’t doubt it. I’ve looked him up a few times, he has a long police record including rape and sexual assault and domestic violence that happened after I left him.

People always ask “why does/did she stay?” I really wish the question instead was “why is it that so many men do this and other men defend it?”. Until we get there instead of questioning the victims reasons, we’re not going to see this problem go away. And yes, I think it does have to start with men, just like getting rid of rape culture will require men to step up in large numbers and confront the men they know. Women have been doing all the things we’ve been told to do since, well, forever and rape and domestic abuse still happen. It starts with the ABUSER, not with the abused.

Janay is very fortunate that she didn’t suffer more serious injuries when her head hit the railing in the elevator.

Mike Francesa just made a great point about that - the league and NFL teams all have security people working for them with extensive LE backgrounds, some even former FBI.

If the league did have the full tape and only suspended Rice for two games, it’s beyond shameful.

But if they didn’t have it - what does it say about a league that will sniff out particulars about drug usage or cheating (Belechick’s ‘playbook-gate’) but not for domestic abuse?

The PR hit that the NFL took today may be orders of magnitude larger than it looks from where we stand now.

You may not be trying to blame the victim, but we now have people saying that the reason she stayed in the relationship was probably just $$$$ and with that comes the implication of “well she’s just a golddigger and so she deserves it.”

I’m sorry, it doesn’t. There’s a lot of info out there on the mindset of domestic violence victims, on what the abusers do to separate the victim from a support network and make them dependent on the abuser so the victim feels trapped, on how hard it can be to get away. But hey, the guy has money so clearly THAT’S IT, and it’s her own fault for staying with him because she wanted the money.

GGT is going to blow a lid when she sees this discussion. But hey, at least we now have a clear cut example of why it is so hard for DV victims to get support - since everyone is happy to judge that they didn’t end it at the right time, or were a victim in the wrong way.

Offer her asylum. Resources in your area, something. He will kill her or hospitalize her at some point. If they have kids, he will hurt them too if he’s not already. The longer it’s allowed to continue the sicker he will become. You have a good heart, let her know there’s a way out. It’s not easy, it’s scary as fuck, but it can be done.

I know you weren’t blaming the victim, but I want you to understand the cultural conditioning behind what you said there. It’s incredibly rare for the abuser to be questioned first as to why he’s such an asshole. It’s almost always “why does she stay?”. And really, if anyone should have to leave the home and life they built behind, IT SHOULD BE HIM, NOT HER. She’s paid enough. So have any kids, if there are any.

The NFL lied.

The only question is when did they lie. Today or months ago.

Based on what the beat reporters like Peter King and Chris Mortensen had been reporting, it looks like both.

If the NFL had access to the same video the police did, then they knew and saw this video months ago - and still handed down the 2 game suspension.

And sorry, but there’s nothing in that video that diminishes what Rice did.

I’d be willing to bet there was coercion by the NFL for her to stay with the guy and try to make it seem like it was a one time thing in order to make the whole issue “go away”.

I’ve been in abusive relationships before (on the receiving side as a guy) and they really do wreak havoc with a persons sense of self worth to the point where you begin to believe the abuser and depend on them for your sense of self worth. It’s not pretty and took me years to climb out of that hole even after the relationship ended.

It doesn’t even have to be a romantic relationship. It can be a professional one, too.

I worked for the same guy for 15 years, 14 of which were very good. The last year, not so much. I became familiar with how an abuser isolates a victim and makes them think they have no alternative. This guy had me convinced that nobody else would hire me, that I was dependent on him to have any professional future. When he needed my help on his lawsuit against our old company, we were ‘all in this together’, ‘It’s your fight just as much as it’s mine!’ Then when he was settling, I asked how it was going, and he shouted at me that it was HIS money and who was I to expect anything?

I look back and I’m ashamed that I was so easily, and thoroughly manipulated.

So it appears little Chuck C. Johnson is having quite the day. When he first was mentioned around here I thought, as did others, what a piece of work. Then Charles started to cover his tweets, eventually building up to complete pages about Chucky C.

Many of us stated “that boy ain’t right” and it has shown he fits the description. But WOW! I don’t think you could write the story and how far this dude is willing to go to do whatever he is doing, which I don’t think is clear yet.

Even Chuck C. seems to fly by the seat of his pants lashing out at whoever attacks him, or going down the unknown dark roads that he thinks lead him to that big story to keep him the greatest journalist ever.

He has got to blow soon and do something that is really going to get him a real reputation…one I don’t think he is going to like.

So, back to reading about Chuck CJ and all your comments. I hope li’l’ Chuck doesn’t explode before I can get caught up. He’s a real shooting star and about to hit the atmosphere for that big flash in the sky.

It can be even harder when you’re a guy on the receiving end in those situations (not at all diminishing what women go through in them) given that you’re supposed to be “the man” and there’s no way a woman could be that abusive to a man.

My uncle went through that in his divorce (years ago). His ex-wife, my former aunt, would hit him with a 2X4, he was the one who took care of their kid and did most everything. He took the abuse until he couldn’t anymore and finally left. Of course she got custody of the kid and the courts couldn’t believe that a 6’4” 200+ lb guy could be abused like he was.

re: #176 Brother Holy Cruise Missile of Mild Acceptance

Yes, it happens to men. We have a friend whose wife drinks too much, only behind closed doors, then she screams horrible things at him. They have 8 kids, I never knew til recently. He wants to leave, he’s just not sure how. All of their kids are grown except the youngest who is in high school. She doesn’t hit him, but she’s verbally and emotionally abusive and likes throwing and breaking stuff. So it does happen to men, a lot more than we might think.

What often happens though is that these cases where the men are the victims, is many people, MRAs, other guys and abuser allies, use this as a reason to negate the male on female violence. I know you are not doing that, but your story is part of a larger narrative that does that. Domestic/relationship violence is a problem, no matter what genders are doing what to whom. None of it is acceptable and ALL of it is REAL.

re: #176 Brother Holy Cruise Missile of Mild Acceptance

It can be even harder when you’re a guy on the receiving end in those situations (not at all diminishing what women go through in them) given that you’re supposed to be “the man” and there’s no way a woman could be that abusive to a man.

My uncle went through that in his divorce (years ago). His ex-wife, my former aunt, would hit him with a 2X4, he was the one who took care of their kid and did most everything. He took the abuse until he couldn’t anymore and finally left. Of course she got custody of the kid and the courts couldn’t believe that a 6’4” 200+ lb guy could be abused like he was.

Indeed. My friend’s girlfriend has hit him a few times (she’s mostly viciously emotionally abusive) and he feels the need to point out every time that she really didn’t hurt him. That isn’t the point!

Consequences for one’s actions? What’s that? // Oh wait, that thing conservatives like Carson only want people who they deem less than them to face. Rice got off too easily as far as I’m concerned. No jail time and would have been only suspended two games if the tape had not come to light.

216 Brother Holy Cruise Missile of Mild Acceptance  Sep 8, 2014 1:33:35pm

re: #189 A Mom Anon

That’s what my situation was like, minus the kids. The ex would drink, a lot, and was very verbally and mentally abusive. That to me is almost worse than had she been physically abusive. I know all too well that there are a lot of people who would use a situation like mine to negate situations like the one with Rice and his wife and it pisses me off as well because no one should abuse anyone full stop.

I am willing to bet if there weren’t so many stereotypes a lot more men would come out about abuse they’ve suffered but even if that happened it should be part of a larger effort to stamp out abuse period. Not to just say “see it happens to men too”.

I think, having gone through what I have, is one of the reasons why I can’t stand abusive people or situations. I have been close to decking certain acquaintances after seeing how they treat their wives given what I’ve gone though and based on a sense of how women should be treated.

I also have a high sensitivity level to this stuff having been in the BDSM scene for a long time and learning to recognize the difference between what consensual adults do and real abuse.

That’s the thing about defending an indefensible position - if you avoid the REAL reason (“We hate them!”), your arguments just get lamer and lamer, and more easily punctured. I suspect that each successive losing defense of SSM bans will get progressively more nonsensical, like the arguments for Intelligent Design every time another ‘irreducible complexity’ gets unwound.

fun with freeps - “sure sounds like ted cruz is running”

Whoever wins a Presidential election in the United States henchforth…
IS THE ONE SUPPOSED TO WIN…

It’s beyond voter fraud.. it’s gone to “Animal Farm”..
Voters “fed”, “milked”, “processed”…

Moos, grunts, squeeks, and Oinks are noted then disregarded..

Any that don’t like it.. are “Anti-Milking”.

I see very little chance for Ted. He has not been running for 10 years already. He has not got the many years of IOUs out. He has not worked the network for nearly long enough. Jeb and Mitt have. One of them, in the normal course of events, will be the Nominee. They have the benefit also of the backing of the Big Money and of the NRC which will duly trash Cruz and anyone else who is not In Line for ther supreme Republican honor- the Nomination.

And that is the supreme honor because Republican mainline candidates do not aspire to any higher. The Presidency is, to them, a pain in the ass and they don’t want it. They do crave the recognition of their Party after which they will strive to throw the election.

Sometimes, as with the Bushes, it doesn’t quite work out and they must serve. Bush II even seemed to enjoy it in his second term. Bush I couldn’t do anything that would have thrown his own election because he couldn’t convince the voters that he wasn’t Reagan Redux, much as he tried, and he tried. He surely breathed a sigh of relief when he didn’t get elected to a second term.

Do we agree a conservative can not get elected by the base alone?

Will we still stick when he has to move his message to attract the liberal middle, by de-emphasizing for a period of time the social issues? How about when he can not for a moment pal around with Palin and expect to win.

The party of the “Mississippi treatment”, which is now destined for all conservatives running against Establishment candidates, could make one reasonably wonder why a true conservative would even run on the Republican ticket.

Cruz may be the only one alive with the ability and the tone to successfully deliver a conservative message and make it palatable to a near socialist leaning majority of American voters.

How he battles both the Republican Party Establishment and their candidates and the Democrat Party and the Wall Sreet globalist contingency and the Chamber of Commerce, all at the same time, will be a VERY expensive and arduous endeavor.

323 Kragar  Sep 8, 2014 2:44:46pm

The formation of the Indomitables comes after years of escalating and violent rhetoric from the League, as well as a search for more ideologically extreme white nationalists to enliven their membership — a pattern that has been ongoing since 2007, when the LOS national conference was titled “Southern Secession: Antidote to Empire and Tyranny.” Just this week, for example, blogger Spelunker published a detailed profile of LOS member Abe Monroe, who attended a rally with LOSers last November and who just posted to Facebook pictures of the words “White Power”in block letters tattooed with a swastika across his back. While Monroe is a minor player, he is representative of that new type of southern nationalist the League now seeks.

That is especially true if one takes to heart Hill’s own words, which show an increasing extremism. In an essay published last month on the LOS website, Hill argued that the Second Amendment extends to “weapons systems,” touted guerrilla warfare applications and listed “primary targets”as the fight for a second secession continues.

“The primary targets will not be enemy soldiers; instead, they will be political leaders, members of the hostile media, cultural icons, bureaucrats, and other of the managerial elite without whom the engines of tyranny don’t run,”Hill wrote. He concluded the essay by quoting Psalms: “Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight.”

Is this meant to be a “news” show for people too stupid to digest anything not doled out by members of the “rapidly aging high school jock” demographic? Is this Honey Boo Boo for airport terminals? Another little update about the Beavercreek Walmart killing murder.

That bold, brave “ex-Marine” who made the 911 calls, Ronald Ritchie?

When confronted with his seven-week service record, however, he confirmed that he had been quickly thrown out of the US marine corps in 2008 after being declared a “fraudulent enlistment”

and

The Crawfords’ attorneys told the Guardian that they had learned the preliminary findings of an autopsy were that he was shot in the back of his left arm and in his left side, supporting their claim that he was turned away from the police officer who shot him.

That said. Mike DeWine, Ohio’s sleazy AG won’t release the video…

DeWine has said that releasing the footage would be “playing with dynamite” and prevent any trial from being fair.

but, it appears Mikey thought it was OK to show it to that 911-calling “ex-Marine”

Ritchie told the Guardian that he, too, was shown the surveillance footage by officials in the attorney general’s bureau of criminal investigation

So, to recap—Richie is full of shit, Mike DeWine is a lying, slimy weasel, and John Crawford was shot dead in Walmart, while holding a BB gun in one hand and a cellphone in the other.

Another thing that make candidates for the round-file: unreadable clumps of text. Use different font sizes, bolding, bullet points, short but descriptive phrases.

A badly formatted resume will get shitcanned by a busy hiring manager who’s trying to determine who deserves to take up several hours of his group’s time interviewing.

372 EmmaAnne  Sep 8, 2014 3:15:17pm

I’ve hired a few people, and I didn’t really want to know what they had done in the past or their schooling or whatever so much as what they could do for me, preferably quickly without taking a lot of my time. I wanted someone who could deal with clients politely, figure out spreadsheets without too much handholding, write letters competently, show up on time, be organized, not get into spats and resentments with other people.

So I really liked resumes and cover letters that gave me confidence that this person could do that. And when I interviewed people I was mostly looking for red flags - couldn’t get along with previous bosses or coworkers, a liar, no idea what to wear to an interview, didn’t really want this job - just some job.

So my advice to job seekers is to think about what they would want to see demonstrated if they were the hirer and provide those things. Not so much “I had this job title and then I had this job title and I am in this organization” but “I took over ordering supplies and dealing with contractors so my boss only had to go over it with me once a week, and I chose and installed the new billing program.”

It’s pretty inevitable at this point that it’s going to SCOTUS. And when that happens, the only way they’re gonna be able to uphold these bans is by basically shredding the Constitution. They can’t simply pencil out the 14th Amendment when it suits them.

Or, if they were watching to learn something, it was that Todd has a hearing deficiency - like ignoring that President Obama talked about Syria before he went and claimed that Obama was ignoring Syria.

Easy way to open a jar…take something like a butter knife, a small screw driver, anything thin but not sharp and pry the side of the lid a little bit to allow air into the seal. You’ll hear a little woosh of air. Proceed to open jar that is now easy to unscrew.

Little gift idea for you to get for her: one of those grippy things to open jars.
Or just one of those heavy duty thick rubber bands the post office uses when you have a bunch of mail. I’ve got extras of those and they work really well.

Make it a spur of the moment gifty thing, however. Not a good idea for birthday, anniversary or Christmas. Just sayin…

She has several of those grippy things. That’s what she was using when she tried to open the jar. Her wrists were just not strong enough.

actually if you take a butter knife and hold it blade side up and tap the lid in 4 places around the outside it will break the seal enough to open without having to pry it. just tap hard enough to make a small dent in the edge.

Yeah, as does the grippy caps. Just a mention of something that doesn’t have to bought and helps pop the seal that is holding the cap in place so tightly.

No one fix and all that…

Many Chinese brewery workers are partially paid with kegs of beer, which is then often sold on the streets to the public in plastic bags.

I did IT consulting for Harpoon Brewery for a while, they had a policy that every employee was allowed to take home up to 10 cases of beer per month that they very kindly extended to me. It wasn’t in lieu of pay of any sort just a nice fringe benefit.

Yep, that is my preferred method too. Just dent the top edge slightly in 4-6 spots and it comes off much easier. A better working variation of the “spoon trick.”

The thing about a little pry on the side of the lid is no one hears it and if your tricky sees it…and you can strut around like a weight lifter after you opened it up.

Way back in the 80s, a bunch of us took a tour of the Anchor Brewery in SF. At the end, there was a tasting. While we were in the tasting room, employees would come in with mugs, fill up, and go back to work. AND we learned that employees could take home bottles where the label was askew. The tourguide admitted that standards for label straightness became more stringent just before holiday weekends.

But running out of Coke isn’t MY fault. It’s the boys drinking them.

One of the reasons why my current boss likes me so much is because I am creative enough to think outside the box and make things work. Right now I am passively looking for something new on the grounds that A) I want/need more money and B) I would like to be closer to home.

Good luck on the search. Pretty much the only reason I am still at my place of employment is how close it is to home. Being in kinda rural PA limits my chances without traveling 1.5 to 2 hours, one way, per day. Winter can add .5 to 1 hour onto that. Been 6 years, guess I can tough it out for a few more until last child graduates. Then I will think of moving closer to a new position.
