Blogger Chuck C. Johnson Hypes White Nationalist Website - Again

Crowing about being defended by racists
Wingnuts • Views: 29,221
Chuck C. Johnson posing with his best friend

You may recall this LGF post from a couple of weeks ago, in which we called out right wing smear artist Chuck C. Johnson (most recently infamous for alleging — with no evidence — that Ferguson teenager Michael Brown had been involved in a second degree murder while a juvenile) for linking to a really nasty homophobic article at racist website Takimag: Blogger Chuck C. Johnson Hypes Ugly Anti-Gay Article at White Nationalist Website.

When it was pointed out to him that Takimag is an overtly racist site, with a list of absolutely horrible white nationalist and antisemitic contributors, he responded by saying he was just “exploring different ideas.”

Well, he seems to have decided now that he likes those “different ideas,” because today he’s crowing about an article at Takimag that defends him against people who criticized him for his disgusting comments about beheaded journalist James Foley:

Maybe it’s just me, but it doesn’t seem very smart to boast that white nationalists and far right racists think you’re groovy.

Exploring different ideas my ass.

CCJ is a racist.

Takes refuge behind other racists. Then deflects attention by claiming that anyone who points out he’s a racist is themselves a racist (and let it be noted that shortly after that tweet above that Charles posted, CCJ muted me).

Because he couldn’t handle being exposed as a smear merchant, liar, and racist.

CCJ still hasn’t retracted any of his claims about Michael Brown being involved in a murder. He’s still exploring that idea too.

Back during FDR’s administration, they tried to pass a Federal Anti-Lynching Law.

Southern States claimed “states-rights”.

I’m going to go with both, for the win! Sigh.

We’re having people over for dinner this weekend, one of whom is a wingnut of rather epic proportions. I just found out he’s a birther too. Damn it. If he starts on the whole “certificate of live birth” crap, I’m ready for him. My BC, my son’s and my daughter’s all say that right on top. My husband’s says something like “birth registration notice”. I have copies of all of them in my kitchen office.

I’m hoping we can keep the politics out of it, because outside of this, he’s a really funny person, a blast to hang out with. Perhaps the power of the Lasagna and Tiramisu shall tame the madness. We shall see.

You’re being intolerant of my intolerance, you bigot. Despite what conservatives believes about liberals, we are willing to give you the benefit of the doubt but when you start scapegoating entire groups, yep we’re going to call you a bigot because guess what that’s what bigots get called. Conservatives are such whiny children when it comes to have their bigotry called out. Sorry assholes you don’t get to corner the market on hate and then cry like babies when you’re called out on it. That’s not how life works.

1. Gather a lot of really sick ideas in one place.

2. Call it a political philosophy.

3. Pretend all political philosophies are equally legitimate.

4. Act outraged and victimized if someone dismisses your whole philosophy as bigoted.

The older boy’s girlfriend comes from a VERY conservative family - so much so that she has not yet introduced him to them. If this goes on, and they eventually tie the knot, I foresee a really tense set of social events around the wedding. The older boy is not good at holding stuff in, and has that Aspergerian difficulty understanding the failure of others to see what he finds so obvious.

I wouldn’t want to be him at Thanksgivings with her family!

Nowadays, conservatives increasingly see nothing wrong with Takimag. White supremacism is really coming out into the open in the conservative movement. Absolutely nobody on the right is speaking out against this stuff. They just keep promoting people like Hoft and Johnson even though they’re completely open about their affinity for white supremacists now.

Doesn’t help that you have “intellectual conservative” mags like NR that happily employ white nationalists for them. Conservatives and conservatism needs to some deep soul searching about their ideology and what it will mean to be a conservative in the 21st century. I am not one who thinks that conservatism is an ideology that will die out and it’s exactly because of that, that I want them fixing their bugs now rather than running away from it and crying about the mean old left calling them racists.

THIS.

It’s how they got the white working class in the 60’s. Hurr hurr LBJ is spending YOUR TAX dollars to help black people. And it sadly did work. It was pointed out by another lizard that Americans were just fine with the welfare state until 1960’s liberals decided you know these programs should benefit everyone black or white and the resentment that a black family may get the same social security or medicare benefits as white people is exactly what Nixon and later Reagan used. I have zero respect for either man because of the way they exploited racial intolerance to gain higher office. They can talk about what LBJ said in private all they want but at least LBJ wasn’t a race baiting asshole like Nixon and Ronnie were.

Men who act like their wives are an obstacle to their fun are not going to be great partners. So, is everyone going to tune in and watch what could possibly be one of the most important political speeches we could hear this year?

Yes, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time, one NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will be dancing on the head of a pin trying to explain the NFL’s position on what the hell the players, the team owners and he are doing to try to restore credibility to a league that has been hammered over the last few weeks.

I’m thinking he will give some kind of a state-of the-league address and then book outta the room trying to take very few questions…or he will have some softballers in the room to lob him some easy ones.

Yeah I just don’t get that line of thinking. Why stay loyal to a party that has no respect for your values. You don’t like Obama, fine, but continuing to vote for the GOP and support GOP candidates even though you know they’re off their rocker? I don’t get it. But yeah the people with a pathological hatred for all things liberals I don’t even try to deal with it reasonably. You can’t deal with someone reasonable who thinks that because you’re a liberal it means you’re closer to Stalin on the political spectrum than Washington.

The best (meaning most ironic) part is most of their taxes will go up. Taxes at the very highest, highest and next highest will be radically reduced, while everyone else…nope. No soup for you!

I was explaining this to the older boy’s GF last night, about the changeover from valuing WORK to valuing WEALTH, and how our tax structures were rejiggered to reward wealthy people for being wealthy with more wealth, because a certain percent of Americans who will never be wealthy worship wealthy and the wealthy.

By the way for those of you watching the Roosevelts. My username is somewhat of a tribute to Al Smith. I appreciate his contribution to Irish-Americans and Catholics in American politics and being a wet when it was very unpopular to do so but it’s more a tribute to Herbert Humphrey who in his own words urged the Democratic Party to leave the sunshine of states rights and enter the sunshine of human rights at the 1948 DNC. So yeah. Al Smith is still an interesting guy though he did become very bitter towards FDR.

My wingnut cousin from West Virginia ‘liked’ a post on Facebook which lauded members of the military for openly defying the President of the United States.

Think about that for a moment. They hate the President SO MUCH that they want the Military to disobey their leaders, if not take over outright.

It really has gotten crazy and I see no end to it. Obama could resign tomorrow. Hell Boehner could become president and I think the only thing that would satisfy them would be a Charles I/Louie XVI style show trial that results in Obama being beheaded publicly. C-FAM Blogger Wonders ‘Which Camp To Choose’ Between Ukraine-Invading Putin And Sodomy-Promoting Obama

Definitely, we are living in strange times. Pro-lifers and defenders of marriage and family meet at a conference in Moscow, hosted by two men with close links not only to the Russian Orthodox Church, but also to Russian President (and former KGB-boss) Vladimir Putin just at a time when the latter is waging a war of aggression against neighbouring Ukraine (not to mention the very similar wars he has waged against Georgia and Moldova and, domestically, against the Chechens…). At the same time Barack Obama, supposedly the leader of the most powerful democratic country in the world, is not only the one of the world’s most active advocates of violence against unborn children, but also uses all the powers of his office to wage a full-fledged war, domestically and world-wide, against marriage and the family - which are the very fundaments of any democratic society. And we, perplexed, do not know which camp to choose.

Right now the “Death Tax” which the Kochs want to repeal, only kicks in for inheritances of over $5 million.

Why an ordinary teabagger thinks this will ever impact them, they must think they are going to win the Powerball.

I have a page posted that shows you need more than 2.3 million to be in the top 1%. So few people have more than 5 million it’s crazy to realize that so many are against the “Death Tax”.

You know, I have never had a piece of shoo-fly pie. And I grew up in an area where there were many Amish/Mennonites.

My mother, a 100% German farm-girl, was a hell of a pie and cookie maker. But she never made them or pecan pie. I’m thinking they were just too sweet for her tastes. I think she did make all the others but her cream pies were to die for. Her fruit pies were pretty damn good, but she killed cream pies of all kinds.

I enjoy my fruit pies the best. I have done some cream pies, and also the extremely gooey sweet like pecan & shoofly (which I don’t make any more) but my favorites are Blueberry, Apple and (today’s) Key Lime.

This x100. US conservatism these days is rapidly regressing to the worst available historical models of rightist populism, with bonus points for Koch bothers et al. astroturfing the whole sordid mess.

IMO, conservatism as a political philosophy is only relevant in times of unreasonably radical reform (e.g., the worst excesses of the French revolution). It should be irrelevant for the 21st century US, where the need is for much greater reforms rather than ending reform or undoing past progress.

US conservatism is growing more and more reactionary. And honestly even those conservatives of the French Revolution era weren’t really conservatives. I don’t see Burke as a conservative for his age. He was a supporter of the American revolution and sympathetic to how the Irish were treated. He wasn’t Robespierre of course but I’d say he wasn’t really a conservative by his own time’s standards. The conservatives of those times were the ones championing absolute monarchy “because that’s all we’ve known and it works.”

My one cousin lately has been using Facebook to demonstrate his abject ignorance and the barely hidden racism that unfortunately informs that side of the family:

• Quasi-birther post showing Uncle Sam praying the next POTUS is an American who will defend the US. I pointed out the current POTUS is and took out Bin Laden, among others. No comment from him.

• Pulling the false balance card with the Ferguson shootings (“We need to hear both sides of the story before we judge”)

• Went full metal Truther on 9/11 and defended it by claiming to be just asking questions and questioning authority.

He never graduated high school and was a shitty student all around, and it’s showing. I may skip the family Xmas party this year.

If you don’t mind saying, where did you grow up GeneJockey?

I’m from north central Ohio and there were/are many Amish and Mennonites in that area. I was on an old race forum back in the late 90s and there was a teacher from out in the Calgary Canada area that taught at a Mennonite school. He told me that there are more Mennonites in Ohio than anywhere else. I told him I was surprised there were Mennonites in Calagary.

Many people think Pennsylvania is the largest home to Amish, but I’ve been told Ohio has more. I don’t know, but I always liked going by some areas of Ohio that still look like the 1800s…like the farms around Shreve.

And just like my mothers side of the family…there are tons of Germans that came to America in the mid-1800s and bought property and set up farms. So, the whole area I grew up in still had many great old world foods traditions and life styles.

I miss the old Catholic Church Festival at my mothers old home and farm area. That was some great food as it was all fresh off the farm, cleaned, prepared and cooked by the local German ladies.

Yep. I’m 54, my husband is 47. We have about 2K in a 401K. The first one lost 65K in the crash, and then when he lost his job we had to cash out the rest of it so we wouldn’t lose everything. We have some equity in our home, but we had to refinance a couple of times (and we didn’t use our house as an ATM, we have a non variable rate mortgage ) and so that effects things.

We don’t live like kings at all. The only actual splurge thing we have is a Harley but I can’t get my husband to even think of selling it (which would get us almost out of all our debt besides the house, but that’s a whole other issue, GRRRRR). We don’t spend money, mostly because we don’t have it. I drive a compact car, my husband has a work truck. We can’t even afford to insure our kid so he can drive. It wasn’t always like this, my husband was a middle management guy, making 6 figures. Until 2008 when after 15 yrs the company let him go without so much as a warning it was coming. In fact, they led him to believe he was next in line for a VP job with them. Since then, he’s been making less than half of that, he had to go back to being a blue collar worker, the kind of work he used to be the boss of.

I suspect we’re not alone at all in that. But I wake up sometimes scared shitless that we’re going to end up homeless and our son will have no one to help him if something happens to us. (he has Asperger’s Syndrome) It wasn’t supposed to turn out like this. We did all the things you’re “supposed” to do and it got us nowhere.

In other words, they wanted to use the vault as a secure storage room so they dumped us out into general population.

I couldn’t handle general population now, with my own office space for 10+ years.

re: #209 A Mom Anon

You are not alone. There are many going through tough times. There are many sleepless nights in America. I sure as hell wished the Republicans and others realized how some people really see things.

re: #209 A Mom Anon

Unfortunately I have a story very similar as do many, many more Americans today. The middle class was heavily damaged in 2008 - 2010 and it isn’t recovering in a meaningful way. We did most of the “right” things (marriage, home ownership, etc.) and got kicked in the butt anyway.
I get frustrated when so many won’t see that a large part of the problem is the GOP and their hatred for our president.

Wow - it seems like things in Kansas may get even more interesting. It seems Kobach needs permission from the feds to get the military/absentee ballots sent out a week later than they were to be sent and as yet he hasn’t petitioned them for that (they’re supposed to go out today)

re: #216 ObserverArt

my response to you Art is that they don’t care… they are well paid lackeys on the influence gravy train kept in line with the knowledge that they got theirs, fuck you. Not saying that there isn’t a smattering of delusional true believers in the free market baby jeebus but for the most part, these guys are part of the wealth machine, in place to keep the wealth exactly where it is and if possible funnel new sources and old sources of wealth into their hands. Admittance to the club is difficult to obtain and as such, most of the GOP legislators knew that they can be the first off the ship if the tune isn’t danced to properly. Fortunately for them, real revolutions aren’t commonplace or else there would be a lot more heads on pikes.

I’d be glad to see him personally go fight a war with Mexico. Good riddance.

I would bet money he didn’t serve in the military, but would be happy to vote for all sorts of wars to send our troops to die fighting.

re: #94 HappyWarrior

It really has gotten crazy and I see no end to it. Obama could resign tomorrow. Hell Boehner could become president and I think the only thing that would satisfy them would be a Charles I/Louie XVI style show trial that results in Obama being beheaded publicly. And even then I doubt they’d be satisfied.

Of course not. All the other liberals need to be killed as well.

Only when the world is pure can America be safe!

re: #211 klys

Both sets of numbers are low. I at least had some familiarity with the income numbers, but the wealth ones are also staggeringly low to me.

Of course, living in CA is living in a fiscal distortion zone too.

I can certainly see that living in a high cost of living area can make the numbers seem low but many people are still underwater on their homes.
There has been some recovery but there are still vast amounts of un/underemployed. Part time hours that barely get your family through the month, car repairs that throw you in debt, etc. It’s still real hard out there for many of the former middle class. For many, retirement is just a fantasy, far off event that can’t be addressed now.

re: #198 HappyWarrior

US conservatism is growing more and more reactionary. And honestly even those conservatives of the French Revolution era weren’t really conservatives. I don’t see Burke as a conservative for his age. He was a supporter of the American revolution and sympathetic to how the Irish were treated. He wasn’t Robespierre of course but I’d say he wasn’t really a conservative by his own time’s standards. The conservatives of those times were the ones championing absolute monarchy “because that’s all we’ve known and it works.”

I agree that Burke was a relatively moderate conservative. He just happened to be the first to explicitly set forth a defense of the way things are/were that is not just mindless traditionalism.

Also agree that absolute monarchy is the platonic ideal of conservatism, even if disguised at times. For example, US conservatives would happily accept absolute rule, as long as it is by plutocrats as opposed to an explicitly hereditary absolute monarchy.

If I recall correctly, Burke supported modest reforms, making him considerably more reasonable than WF Buckley with his “stop history” nonsense.

re: #207 ObserverArt

South Central PA, near Gettysburg. Farther west than Lancaster, with a smaller population of Amish. Mennonites are a minority there, but they’ve been there for centuries.

The thing about the Amish is that their population grows, and they have to find someplace to expand. My wife grew up in a farming town out in the toe of New York. Lots of family farms, but like a lot of family farms, the last 50 years have not been kind. The Amish started moving in about 40 years ago, and now are a substantial presence there.

As someone who deals with such contractors, my hope is that your employer doesn’t do anything stupid to draw the attention of certain three-letter agencies, some of which represent the DoD, in moving your team out of your vault.

You’re former active-duty, IIRC; I’m sure you know the drill already.

I don’t remember encountering this guy Gavin McInnes before, but wow, what an evil piece of work he is. 40,000 right wing followers on Twitter for an overt racist.

He doesn’t think very highly of Asians…wonder if that includes Upchuck’s wife…

Fox News Guest Launches Race-Based Attack On Neil deGrasse Tyson

McInnes currrently writes for Taki’s Magazine, a “paleoconservative” website that publishes overtly racist articles including ones by neo-confederates. At Taki’s, McInnes has referred to Asian-Americans as “slopes” and “riceballs,” suggested Muslims are “stupider” and “more violent” due to inbreeding, defended blackface because some minstrel shows were “just mimicking black people” and “fun,” backed the racist comments of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, and argued that to yell the n-word at someone is “not racist” but “just very rude.” He also owns his own website, streetcarnage.com, where he defended Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s racist comments because Bundy was just “wonder[ing]” if African-Americans were better off under slavery. In 2013, 18 Milling Rising gave him a “Lifetime Achievement Award in Hipster Racism,” a brand of racism marked by making “ironically” racist “jokes.”

@Gavin_McInnes defends yours truly from the Twitter lynch mob…

Which is a pretty ironic turn of phrase, seeing as the people defending you are the spiritual (if not literal) descendants of the actual lynch mobs.
