Breitbart Writer: Men Who Support Feminism Are “Sexually Frustrated Dickless Wonders”

I don’t know where anyone gets the idea that misogyny and sexism are core values of today’s conservative movement — except maybe from Breitbart “News,” where Milo Yiannopoulos levels a blast of pure crass hatred at the #HeForShe campaign that has to be seen to be believed: THE UN’S RISIBLE #HEFORSHE CAMPAIGN: POINTLESS SELF-FLAGELLATION FOR SEX-STARVED BETA MALES.

Some men will do literally anything to get laid. Witness the outpouring of support among sexually-frustrated dickless wonders for #HeForShe, an attempt by the United Nations to get men on board with feminism. This mission is necessary, in case you were wondering, because the shrieking harpies of the third-wave feminist movement have alienated most of their own sex with their bullying, lies and harassment.

So the boys have been called up in service of the man-haters, and, such is the diseased world in which we live, they have come charging down the corridor with their tails wagging, regurgitating platitudes about the “urgent need” to “address sexism and gender bias” in the hope of a smile or nod of appreciation from the sisterhood. Can anyone else spot what’s wrong with this picture?

That’s right. It’s a patronising, gendered, borderline sexist campaign that reduces men to cheerleaders for the fairer sex. What ever happened to equality? Reading the #HeForShe website, it’s clear: equity and fairness is no longer the mission. Bullying and bias are issues strictly and exclusively affecting “women and girls,” while the responsibility for policing society is of course up to all of us.

Go ahead and have a look at the HeForShe website, and see if Yiannopoulos’ description of it is even close to being fair. In fact, this whole piece is one of the most grotesque and disgusting articles I’ve seen yet at the hate site that Andrew built.

The use of a photo of Emma Watson is especially revealing. This Milo Yiannopoulos turkey probably wishes that nude photos of her had actually been hacked, so that he could jack off to them and then call her a slut.

Even if you don’t agree with what Watson said in all areas she touched on, she said nothing than could be possibly characterized as “man-hating”. But that fact slides right past this Breitbart troll, who instead chooses to bath in the raw sewage of misogyny.

For a while Quinn dated a programmer named Eron Gjoni. Gjoni sparked the #Gamergate debate when he wrote online that Quinn had cheated on him, one time with a journalist for the games website Kotaku. The implication was that she had done so to get better reviews for Depression Quest. Quinn and Kotaku have denied those claims, but what followed was #Gamergate.

The claims instigated a huge backlash on Twitter and online forums like Reddit and 4chan. Some people used the allegations against Quinn as proof that there’s corruption in video game journalism — that game developers and game journalists have grown too cozy. Others attacked Quinn based on her gender, calling her a “social justice warrior” — an insulting term for people who are deemed to be uninterested in games themselves, just in using those games as a platform to promote themselves or their ideals.

That’s where things got ugly — horribly ugly.

Quinn was soon flooded with death threats and rape threats. Her personal information, even photos, were hacked and posted online, forcing her to leave her home.

“It’s like the Internet is eager and waiting for a reason to be a total scumbag to you — at least if you’re a woman and you’re a loud, outspoken woman,” she says.

It really takes only a couple generations for domestic pigs to revert to the much less cute, much more dangerous variety, complete with tusks. Pretty much all the wild pigs in America came from escaped domestic pigs, but if you encounter a big boar in the wrong place he will tear the hell out of you. I have a boar skull that a friend of mine gave me (he didn’t want it as a trophy because he’d only shot it because it was obviously sick). The exposed length of the tusks - 4 of them- is about 5” each.

I have never been big on Gin, give me a good sipping rum or tequila any day. My dad’s favorite drink has always been genever, which is sort of the precursor to gin. For a long time you couldn’t find it in the states so he always used to bring a couple bottles back when he visited family in Portugal. Lately it is becoming easier to find over here especially at some of the higher end liquor stores. Don’t know if you have ever tried it, but it is much like gin and he swears by it.

What do you like and why?

My tastes haven’t developed in a singular direction w/r/t gin. There seems to be ones that lean heavily on the juniper/spruce, and those that have a more elaborate bouquet. The former I prefer with tonic, the latter for most other applications.

The one thing I know about genever is that there’s two jonge genever and oude genever. Both are malty compared to gin, but the latter is aged in wood barrels. It thus can be malty like scotch, but with juniper, etc.

I sampled both during a one night stop in Amsterdam years back. I don’t remember having a preference. I was jet-lagging like mad.

Your standards that you find everywhere are going to be Tanqueray/Bombay/Hendrick’s (top shelf). Out of those, I like Tanqueray in tonic (my standard) and Hendricks if I can get it with muddled cucumber (it’s growing on me). Both are more complex, Tanqueray tends a little more floral I think. If you can find the Tanqueray Rangpur that is a tasty sipping gin in a tonic (nice lime notes) and 10 takes it up to even more floral.

My favorite complex (and probably more floral) gin is Long Table from Vancouver but that is not sold state-side yet that I know of, so… Cape Rock from CO is also good, as is Leopold’s (also out of CO) and The Botanist (Scotland, surprisingly). At this point you are starting to pay more - most of these are around the $30 for 750mL mark (similar to Hendrick’s - all well worth it in my opinion). Most of what is on the market these days tends to be more complex and my tastes probably trend that direction. The Sipsmith I mentioned above (London) is nicely piney though.

The best single-note gin I have ever had comes from a tiny micro-distillery in CO, in Ridgeway - Trail Town Still. All he puts in is juniper. That’s it. No other botanicals, no other nothing. Just juniper. It is AMAZINGLY good. His balance is spot on.

If you drink G&Ts, play around with the tonic water! This is such a big factor. My personal favorite is the Whole Foods 365 brand, but other folks are fond of Q-Tonic or Fevertree. It’s a personal preference. I find the 365 to have a nice sweetness that pairs well with a HUGE variety of gins and it is also a hell of a lot cheaper than some of the bigger name ones. I am also playing some with tonic syrups at this point although I have been less impressed by those so far?

I have only rarely met a gin I didn’t like. There was one up in Canada that was made from potatoes; that tasted very green. I’m not a fan of more rye-forward gins although if you like whiskey you might not mind them so much. St. George out in Alameda here does some nice stuff but I can’t remember if I preferred the green bottle or the blue bottle, which means it’s probably time to buy one of each and remind myself. The red bottle is rye forward. (They have real names but I can’t remember them.) I haven’t been all that impressed by Junipero out of SF or Aviation - they’re fine, but nothing to scream “KEEP ME IN THE HOUSE AND HOARD THE LAST DRINK UNTIL YOU GET ANOTHER BOTTLE.” Death’s Door is the micro-distillery up in MI/WI but that is another rye-forward one so I tend to add elderflower liquer to that. It makes it more drinkable. There’s also …Bluecoat? out of Philly which is tasty enough (that bottle lives at my parents’ house) but still doesn’t break into the top 5.

Oh. The other recent good find was Barr Hill out of VT (I think) which is made using honey as an ingredient. You can definitely taste the honey. It is fantastic and I need to track down a bottle.

So my daughter has a report due Tuesday.

I’ve been asking everyday and making sure everything is on track, seeing what she needs to do for research, materials for the display and my wife has said she’s got it covered.

I told them all week, lets have it done saturday evening so we can check it and fix anything that still needs to be done.

I went out with my youngest and my wife and oldest said they would work on it an show me after dinner.

I’ve been asking everyday and making sure everything is on track, seeing what she needs to do for research, materials for the display and my wife has said she’s got it covered.

I told them all week, lets have it done saturday evening so we can check it and fix anything that still needs to be done.

I went out with my youngest and my wife and oldest said they would work on it an show me after dinner.

So its after dinner and they didn’t do shit.

So now they’re working on it now, with me providing technical support for typing stuff up and ideas for putting the display together.
I hate being an asshole, but FFS, I feel like I have to be sometime.

Eh, I don’t know. I count 40 municipalities in Wayne County, spread over 672 sq. miles. St. Louis County has 90 municipalities over 524 sq. miles.

Makes me glad that where I live, Nashville & Davidson County, went metropolitan in the early 60s. We still have a few small “satellite cities” within the city/county lines (Belle Meade, Oak Hill, Goodlettsville) with varying levels of cooperation and integration with Metro and one of them decided to unincorporate and come under Metro’s control a couple of years ago (Lakewood).

Still, I rather have this than what some friends of mine have to deal with living in the Birmingham area (and that I have to also deal with on the phone every day at work), where there’s ten zillion separate duchies within Jefferson County surrounding Birmingham proper.

Thanks for the extended response. I’ll note down the smaller distilleries as things to search for.

Right now my cabinet contains two St. George’s: the blue label is Botanivore, the green is Terroir. I keep them next to one another in the hope they’ll reproduce. The first is more balanced, the second is intensely spruce-y (because it’s made with spruces), which was initially mouth-puckering but I’ve learned appreciate. Good tonic water (Fevertree) has gone a long way towards making me understand the appeal of a G&T.

I’ve also got a bottle of Old Tom done by Ransom Spirits; very different. Supposedly it’s a historical recipe, which hits both my food and history nerd-love. Lots of coriander and citrus—very different, quite nice.

They are good gins, just not capable of breaking my top 5 list.

I should add tonight’s gin with food is an Old Tom style Limited Edition Tanqueray. It’s definitely on the complex, not juniper-heavy side of the equation.

A foodie friend of mine, who also writes a column for the Louisville Courier-Journal, recently linked me to an article about how many micro-distillers buy a lot of their wares from larger, wholesale distillers and just relabel them.

I’ll need to track down the article, but this site cites a similar statistic.

It starts with us being a grain-to-glass micro-distillery. According to the American Distilling Institute, only about 30% of America’s micro-distilleries ferment their own mash. 70% of micro-distilleries simply buy grain neutral spirits and merely re-label them, throw in some fruit, sugar or artificial flavors, re-distill them, or blend them with some of their own.

It is a fair point but with gin, a lot of the flavoring comes from those herbs/fruits/whatever. That being said, I do my best to support all varieties. :D

I sure hope I never get pulled over right after there’s an officer-involved shooting then. Or anything like that.

Either we trust them to be capable of doing their jobs separate from emotion or we don’t. When they are responsible for public safety and administration of law, we should be able to hold them to a higher standard when on the job.

Stress can reach a point where rational thought just evaporates. American antiaircraft gunners shot up an American paratrooper drop in Sicily despite having been specifically warned and vehemently ordered to hold their fire.

They’d been under German air attack all day and they’d just got too twitchy to remember orders.

And these are people who WANTED the paratroopers to live and make a successful drop. But they killed them anyhow.
