Talk Radio Screamer Michael Savage: Obama Is Deliberately Bringing Ebola to America

As always and forever, the US right wing has launched into a deranged orgy of fear-mongering and blaming President Obama over the patient diagnosed with Ebola in Dallas, and talk radio screamer “Michael Savage” is probably the first out of the gate to claim Obama is deliberately bringing in diseases like Ebola, because he wants to turn the US into a third world nation. Yes, he really did say these things, to an audience of millions of people.

I’m grateful to Right Wing Watch for listening to insane freaks like “Michael Savage” so I don’t have to, except when they post these audio clips.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Willful malice and deliberately chosen irrationality are pretty much requirements for the job of RW radio talking head.

Ebola is the October surprise. Obama is going to wipe down the Ebola on the voting machines in republican precincts, ensuring that the hard core base won’t be around to vote against Hillary Clinton in 2016.

I read it on gotgingenews.com I think

He reportedly has an audience of five million people, so yes, he has no problem getting advertisers.

Great effort by Ingraham to tie Obama to ebola. But what loon will be able to link the holy trinity, Obama, ebola and Benghazi?

The best reason to remember that book. Amazing world building and a not bad story but that paragraph was where the book rose above itself to become something a little bit “more” than the usual fake fluff. Rather like the end of “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress” and Manny sitting in silence waiting for MIke to (never) speak again.

28 EmmaAnne  Oct 2, 2014 11:02:00am

I saw Justice Scalia speak yesterday. I already knew I would disagree with him, but I expected him to be impressive - smart - convincing. He wasn’t. He was talking about originalism (in interpreting the constitution). He just made up lame straw men arguments for his opponents and argued with those. According to him, if you aren’t an originalist, you just decide the constitution means whatever you want it to mean on a given day. Come on!

This is now the Official Stupidest Meme Of The Day:

30 jaunte  Oct 2, 2014 11:02:58am

Chris Cilizza thinks Ebola in Dallas could be a big opportunity for Rick Perry to look competent.

“…Being at the forefront of the fight against Ebola — the first-ever case in the United States — affords Perry an opportunity to bend the story about him heading into the 2016 presidential election. Rather than Perry as fumbling dunderhead, there is now a chance for a Perry as competent chief executive narrative to emerge. (Before I go any further, let me note: Perry’s high profile on Ebola is not because of 2016 calculations. But, it absolutely impacts how he is perceived — whether he intends it to or not.) There are very few moments that can draw the attention of the entire country anymore — outside of the SuperBowl is there any regularly scheduled event that can? — but this Ebola story can. Fear is a powerful driver.”

Whereas what he does is to decide the constitution means whatever he wants it to every day.

Yeah Louie that makes perfect sense. Perfect sense you fucking imbecile. Really Louie just resign please, if you really feel that our president would do something like this, why would you bother serving in a government led by him? Oh wait? You like the power and nice benefits that come with being an elected demagogue.

If only hyperbolic ranting and screaming on talk radio was fatal.

40 HappyWarrior  Oct 2, 2014 11:09:20am

There has been no president in history that has inspired more pathetic lies and paranoia about his intentions than Barack H. Obama. None. People were vicious to Lincoln, Roosevelt, and many others but there was never the out effort by so many elected officials to spread dangerous lies about their intentions. I have zero doubt whatsoever in my mind that if Barack Obama had been president during 9/11 or Pearl Harbor that he would have been accused by the Republicans in Congress and their ashsole friends in the media of having given the order himself.

From what I’ve heard, Savage is even more of a lunatic than Rush, and that’s saying something. I don’t doubt that Rush believes the stuff he says, but I’ve always gotten the sense that Rush is somewhat more calculating in his craziness. Savage seems to me as someone a little more unhinged.

I actually had occasion to use that mantra myself once. Back when I was in college, an older friend didn’t feel well and literally started to turn green. I ended up driving him to the hospital in his pickup truck (I had never driven a pickup before).

Fortunately it was not actually a heart attack (it was angina instead), and the friend had bypass surgery shortly thereafter.

Yeah. I remember when a politician would strive to do something uplifting for others no matter the party. The parties had different ways of trying to accomplish it.

Now, like you say, the Republicans are nothing but tear it down, put a stop to it, cut the funding, let ‘em take care of themselves, keep out, stay away from mine and go fuck yourself in the mean time.

And yet, people vote for Republicans. Do we still have a community, a society or are those terms now too uppity/liberal/commie to use the word?

It’s hard to say. The fact that non-wingnuts will vote GOP in response to relatively trivial issues relating to Democrats isn’t encouraging.
