Hilarious! Stephen Colbert Makes Mincemeat of Bill O’Reilly’s “Mercenary Army” Idea

Bill, baby doll - you’re of my ilk!
Humor • Views: 34,999

Comedy Central Video

Bill O’Reilly took great umbrage at Stephen Colbert’s relentless mockery of his moronic idea to use a “mercenary army” to fight terrorists like ISIS, so Colbert doubles down and mocks the living [bleep] out of O’Reilly in this utterly hilarious segment. Colbert at his best.

Still think it hilarious that BillO, desperate to find somebody who thought it was a good idea, boasted that Henry Kissinger agreed with his idea. Because we all know that Henry hasn’t yet found a US-funded death squad he didn’t like.

This segment is hilarious, except for the part where BillO actually gets highly paid for his show.

Where the hell did you find a 25,000 private mercenary army? And, who pays for it, arms them, feeds them, transports them, leads them, holds them accountable, etc?

The follow up segment with Adm. Mike Mullen was pretty good too.

Simple, you look in the Yellow Pages under “private military company.” Best bet is Blackwater or whatever they’re calling themselves these days. Just don’t count on actually holding them accountable for anything, because they’ll likely sue you instead.

I’m so glad Bill’O still does irony, even though it’s inadvertent.

The AAAS Science Magazine has some articles up that I suspect will become fodder for the usual noise machines:

Ebola survivor II, Nancy Writebol: ‘We just don’t even have a clue what happened’

[…]

N.W.: I don’t know how I became infected and how I contracted it. There are some thoughts about how I might have gotten it. Nobody is really sure, least of all me. I never felt like I was unsafe and I never felt like I walked into a situation where I was being exposed. I was on the low-risk side of things. I never was in the crisis or the Ebola center. I was always on the outside. I made sure doctors and nurses were dressed properly before they went in, and I decontaminated them before they went out. We kept a close check on each other about whether people felt safe.

We had an employee who was doing the same job that I was doing. He got sick and I didn’t know he was sick. He didn’t tell anybody. He actually thought he had typhoid. The day that I started having symptoms, at least a fever, was the last day I saw him. He did have Ebola. He did not survive.

[…]

and Ebola survivor I, Senga Omeonga: ‘Every day I’m still thinking: When was I contaminated?’

[…]

Q: Why do you think so many health care workers have become infected?

A: There’s a lot we need to learn. From my own experience, it’s really the lack of protective equipment in our hospitals in Liberia. Right now we are starting to have more. In the beginning, we didn’t have enough to protect ourselves as health care workers.

There were also problems with the patients we were receiving. A lot of them were lying when they come to the hospital. They didn’t even tell you they’re having fevers. They’d say they fell down or were on a motorbike, or someone pushed them, or they went to work and passed out. Sometimes you put a patient on a table to assess them and find out different symptoms.

[…]

Q: Did you have fluid touching you?

A: It’s hard to tell. He was a wet patient—he was having diarrhea and vomiting. Probably somewhere I touched him. At the time he was declared negative, I was sitting in his room talking to him and being close to him. I don’t really remember direct contact. Maybe the last few days when he was almost abandoned. Everyone was afraid to touch him. He was screaming. I removed his nasogastric tube and he was fighting. I had my face shield and mask on.

Maybe it was in the beginning, when I was sitting in his room. Sometimes I had just a T-shirt on. I don’t know. There are lots of questions. Every day I’m still thinking: “When was I contaminated?”

[…]

I’ve mentioned this here before, but cognitive science appears to back this up, as even Fox News itself has reported:

The researchers found that volunteers who identified themselves as liberal tended to have a larger anterior cingulate cortex, a region of the brain linked with monitoring uncertainty, which could help them cope with conflicting information. On the other hand, those who identified themselves as conservative have a larger amygdala, an area linked with greater sensitivity to fear and disgust [my bold - HGT].

So, in other words, Louie Gohmert has a full head of hair it’s just that his amygdala has grown so large that it covers it up.

Friend of mine has his 84-year-old father visiting. Codger insists on watching Fox News all day, every day, and screaming at the TV set. Asserts that Fox News is the most popular network because “everybody watches it.”

Until it was pointed out to him what the commercials are on Fox: canes. Walkers. Scooter. Walk-in tubs. Buy gold/silver. Reverse mortgages.

You can tell who watches a network by what the advertising is aimed at. Not sure how many 20somethings are really lining up like outside the Apple store to get their mitts on the hottest new model of Depends undergarments.

Thomas Muthee, Sarah Palin’s very own witch doctor.

Thomas Muthee (born c. 1955)[1] is a Kenyan preacher and bishop. During the 2008 United States Presidential campaign, his visit to the Wasilla, Alaska Assembly of God in 2005, including a blessing that he gave Sarah Palin, was widely discussed. His prior claims of successful spiritual warfare in Kiambu, Kenya involving an alleged witch known as “Mama Jane” also came under specific scrutiny. In addition to his Alaskan visits, Muthee has spoken to churches in multiple European countries and is involved in humanitarian work in Africa.

An update on the jury misconduct investigation in Ferguson, where the woman involved is now using the Weiner Defense:

Woman denies sending tweet sparking Ferguson grand jury misconduct inquiry

The woman, who CNN is not identifying, said in an interview with reporters on the doorstep of her home that she hadn’t used her Twitter account in months and thought she had deleted it.

“I didn’t care for it because I just don’t get the whole Twitter thing,” she said, adding that someone had hacked her account and posted spam in the past.

She further said that she knew no one on the grand jury hearing Wilson’s case and told CNN she had left a voicemail for St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch about the tweet. She hasn’t heard back from his office, she said.

“It had to have been hacked,” she said of her account. “I promise you I did not do any of this.”

I think I saw the same ad for the watches. It was a beautifully produced ad, eyecandy animations and stunning art direction. If it was for anything else other than dropping $400K on something that I pretty much use my smartphone for these days, I’d consider the product.

As for plugging crazy luxury watches to a late-night audience of bong-huffing college stonemonsters, well, there’s an Aeron office chair still spinning in the suite of the executive who greenlit that ad buy.

Keep some aloe plants (they’re pretty); when you need to, slice open a spear and rub the fresh gel directly on your burn. Repeat every hour or two, it’ll fix it right up.

For an immediate burn (like, I just came into the house this minute after noticing) — treat like a kitchen burn. Butter works surprisingly well.

I posted this over at the Molotov Mitchell page, but I thought the rest of the lizards need to see how dangerous this guy is and what we are facing here in North Carolina. He was one of the major contributers to the birther movement back in 2007,and he and his wife are hard core Dominionists/Christian Reconstructionists.
***************************

Molotov Mitchell is this insane asshole.

splcenter.org

In advertising, everyone knows the most important group to reach is the 18-34 demographic. These days, 18- to 34-year-olds even have their own evangelist, a pop culture-savvy Christian hardliner with the word “zealot” tattooed on his forearm and wrath emblazoned in his heart. His name is Jason “Molotov” Mitchell, he’s 33 years old, and he’s a self-declared “Christian Supremacist” who wants his co-religionists to shove aside “effeminized American Christianity” and start “advancing the Kingdom on earth.”

That means abolishing homosexuality, subjugating women, and “crafting the body … into a weapon for God and the Movement, ready and able to serve at any time” — in other words, unquestioning acceptance of draconian Old Testament law, and a willingness to impose it on others.

Mitchell looks like a hipster, but he reads the Bible like a Christian Reconstructionist, or one who seeks to impose biblical law on secular society. In a 2009 video blog for WorldNetDaily (WND), a far-right online publication (see also Joseph Farah profile above), he endorsed a Ugandan bill that would make homosexuality in many cases a capital offense. In 2011, he chided Christians who condemn Islamic Shariah law because it permits polygamy and the stoning of adulterers, noting that both are permitted in Christian Scripture.

The fact that this guy has an actual chance tells you how fucking insane the GOP has become in North Carolina. Mitchell is a real life Dominionist: God’s Law right now (!) and death penalties out of Leviticus et al (IE the Pentatuch). Natch, he and his wife are proponants of the Pink Triangle pseudo history where the gheys are really behind the Holocaust.

Andrew Sullivan on him here:
dish.andrewsullivan.com

Right Wing Watch here:
rightwingwatch.org

queerty.com

Good’s Jennifer Rawls ran into the Mitchells at a cocktail party and learned—despite their cute well-dressed hipster look—just how batshit crazy they are.

I bring up the video Molotov made supporting Uganda’s anti-gay bill, and he is quick to justify it. “I was supporting the right of Ugandans to pass their own legislation. I’m sick of white liberals trying to dictate the way that black people live in other countries.”

Is Molotov trying to play the race card here? Really?

Plus, he knows anti-gay Ugandan pastor Martin Sempa personally. Sempa, he says, “is a great guy, and I respect him tremendously. If Martin Sempa and the Ugandan people want this type of bill, I say let them have it.”

Despite their fiery diatribes, Rawls learns how medieval Molotov and Patricia’s relationship is.

“I submit to my husband,” [Patricia] says. “I think it’s a delicate balance because it doesn’t do him any favors if I agree with everything he says. He wants me to tell him what I think about things. Why would he marry me if he didn’t value me, right?”

“Duh, ‘cause you’re smokin’ hot!” Molotov replies.

Patricia responds in all seriousness, “I consider myself smart, and I try to be wise. We are a team, but if it comes down to him or me, his opinion goes. You could make a wartime analogy: Sometimes your captain tells you to do something that’s not right, but it is better to go with the captain than do your own thing.” Molotov has a tendency to speak over her. Although it can be hard for Patricia to get a word in, of the two, she is more sensitive to media portrayals. She seems to understand that their politics alienate people and sometimes encourages Molotov to temper the most inflammatory rhetoric. At the end of the conversation, she hedges, “I’m not sure if I explained that very well.”

You can see his rants at WND. His infamous “Kill the Uganda Gays” video is no longer up at Youtube, but I’m sure you find it coiled around the bitter black embers of Jospeh Farrah’s heart.

Former President George W. Bush, who before leaving office warned against withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq too early, told Fox News that America has since learned the “lesson” that Iraqis are not yet capable of providing for their own security.

i remember how he told us back in 2003 how we were gonna have to occupy iraq permanently at a tremendous cost to american taxpayers

“we are bringing permanent american military dictatorship to a country that has only known dictatorship”, he said at the time

The fact that this guy has an actual chance tells you how fucking insane the GOP has become in North Carolina. Mitchell is a real life Dominionist: God’s Law right now (!) and death penalties out of Leviticus et al (IE the Pentatuch). Natch, he and his wife are proponants of the Pink Triangle pseudo history where the gheys are really behind the Holocaust.

You can see his rants at WND. His infamous “Kill the Uganda Gays” video is no longer up at Youtube, but I’m sure you find it coiled around the bitter black embers of Jospeh Farrah’s heart.

You should turn that into a page. Get more attention for it.
