All the shameful things that have come out of this tragedy, and they top it off with a news dump. Typical, and shameful.

Somehow, it doesn’t surprise me that this comes on the Friday before the week of Thanksgiving, when most people will be making travel plans, preparing for the arrival of relatives, or setting up plans for Thanksgiving dinner rather than paying attention to the news.

No charges, to be released around midnight. Darren Wilson to be whisked away to the capitol for the unveiling of his bust in the Limbaugh wing of the hall of great Missourians.

I’m not convinced these “sources” know anything. I think the grand jury will bring an indictment against Wilson.

Off topic, but a House panel report on Benghazi debunks the idiotic conspiracy theories.

If it does, I will be the first to admit I was wrong. Based on the events since August, I don’t expect to be making such an admission.

Yeah, the report gets dumped weeks after the Election, on a Friday afternoon when the Ferguson GJ is expected to make its announcement.

In other words, they might as well have just tossed it in the garbage for all the relevance it will ultimately have.

12 BeachDem  Nov 21, 2014 4:33:02pm

With all the supposed extra training and such that they’ve had for dealing with the Ferguson protests, don’t you all think they should, by now, be able to identify and isolate those anarchist and communist crazies who have been showing up?

Charles was able to identify them just from still photos early on. You’d think the cops and/or the FBI and Homeland Security gang who are hanging around would be able to draw a bead on them and get them the fuck away from the legitimate protesters.

13 Shiplord Kirel  Nov 21, 2014 4:34:03pm

A minor benefit if the GJ does somehow indict Wilson: The anarchists will be sent slinking back to mom’s basement with their tails between their legs. I wonder if they will scream “betrayal!”?

14 Targetpractice  Nov 21, 2014 4:36:36pm

If there is an indictment, one of the first things we can expect will be wingnuts screaming that the jurors were pressured into it by the “angry mob” and/or the Feds pressured McCollough to bring charges. There will be, in some way, an effort to portray an indictment as a miscarriage of justice.

Or that Obama and Eric Holder bribed them into indicting Wilson to distract from the immigration EO…as well as Benghazi.

But it doesn’t work that way. The only people on the scene who gain from controlling the crazies/provocateurs are the legitimate protesters. If they have spent their last 104 days growing a strong leadership and disciplined structure, they can ‘dissuade’ the parasites.

I’m really curious what they think was going to happen. That if Wilson’s efforts to erase his identity had succeeded back in August, he would have just gone back to the job as soon as the GJ let him go?

I imagine all the major papers right now have two stories ready to go the moment they hit “Post.”

Bet that they both start with:

“Deaths and injuries follow Wilson verdict…”

Fox wins either way. They can go with outrage over the obvious interference/intimidation by the Obama administration or they can go with outrage over how poor officer Wilson was demeaned and put under house arrest for months for just doing his job.

Those thinking there will be an indictment handed down made me wonder about something.

Would a cop have a contract with the city/police department with language that if he is found guilty of a major crime while as a cop and on duty, he’d still be eligible for back pay while off under investigation, future retirement, any insurances and any kind of resignation settlement?

If that bit about him being in negotiation to resign is true, would they even be negotiating a settlement if they thought he was going to be indicted and he would be getting no further monies?

It’s probably a complicated story. What if, for instance, he’s negotiating a resignation in the event he’s not indicted, on the theory that his continued presence on the force would make for bad community relations?

110 Charles Johnson  Nov 21, 2014 6:05:17pm

Chuck C. Johnson went way out there last night after Obama’s speech - pure unhinged ranting. I’ve had him muted for a few days because it gets to be too much, but I was just checking out his timeline from last night, and hoo boy, Stormfront time.

Chuck is bilking the right wing base with this crazy talk, but he has to actually believe it himself too, at least on some level. This is one screwed up person.

I’ll have an article tomorrow. This was an exceptionally crazed outburst.

It’s not even to their satisfaction that they claim. They just say questions over and over, then wingnuts go around claiming that this president is surrounded by controversy as evidenced by all the questions. I’ve yet to have a conservative bring up any kind of legitimate question. Well yeah. In the DC animated universe, no one will touch Mark Hamill’s Joker. He’s brilliant. It’s like having anyone else as Batman. They’ve had some good actors, but why bother when Kevin Conroy is still alive?

For live action film, however, the Joker needed an upgrade since the Nicholson version didn’t age well. And thank the FSM that Nolan decided to make Bane a real threat instead of wasting him the way Schumacher did.

Yes this I can agree with they even found a “realisticish” way to have venom be involved in Bane, though I am surprised they went English rather than Latino for his voice…

Honestly I think the Batman the Animated Series (and anything else springing from that) version of the Joker will end up aging better then the Dark Knight Joker, because Dark Knight is more about a terrorist playing headgames, BTAS has a supervillain who will half poison fish giving them crazy grins so he can try to patent them…

Dark Knight’s Joker will become as dated as the 60s is today in a few decades as we leave the war on terror behind us.

(Not say it wasn’t good it’s just in my opinion Markhamil’s was better, though on the other hand Mark Hamil has had two cartoon series, and four video games at least (Arhkahm + DCU Online) to perfect how to play the role.)
