Let this one marinate some:

The who of who will be upset by the ruling breaks down as follows:

1) a minority community that has suffered numerous indignities, including being racially profiled (and for which the local community is being treated as a piggy bank); or

2) a group of supporters for a cop who shot an unarmed black man who also happened to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars all while letting their racist flags fly.

Also upset by the ruling? KKKers. Xenophobes. Racists.

Which group has an actual grievance and should be upset if a grand jury verdict isn’t returned for an indictment? It’s the black community.

If an indictment is returned, it still doesn’t guarantee a conviction - only that it gets heard in court.

The more this goes on, the more the conviction of Johannes Mehserle seems like a miracle. And I was mad at the time, because it looked like he got off lightly (reduced sentence on a lighter charge than the community was demanding).

I gave up on an indictment when McCullough and Nixon announced within hours of each other than the former would not go unless asked and the latter would not ask. Nothing I’ve seen in McCullough’s conduct since has convinced me that he is invested in anything but Wilson being cleared of wrong-doing.

I’m hoping that’s part of the reason why Obama chose Lynch given her background with police brutality cases but I’m skeptical given Obama’s general caution. I’m extremely skeptical and it’s really sad because there have been so many more cases like this before and since Michael Brown where a white police officer shoots an unarmed black person and the white police officer gets off.

My dad is probably best described as a moderate republican but he thinks the current GOP is crazy so he voted for Obama. But the Darren Wilson situation has ratcheted up his fears of racial violence so much that he says he sides with Wilson even if it was a bad shoot! I just really don’t want to discuss this with him ever again. He won’t change his mind and I don’t want to hear such ugly thoughts again. It is such a mind boggling thing that a man who is so kind and thoughtful otherwise can hold onto such a repugnant and ill conceived mindset.

But we shouldn’t be talking about these things because the good law abiding folks in Ferguson, and the suspect’s family, are not going to be any cause for concern or civil unrest or criminal activity towards LEOs and the community at large. They would never do such a thing. Why are we even talking firearms and gear loadouts? That’s preposterous! We’re only inciting violence from the calm, mature, civil folks who are just standing on the sidewalk minding their own business. They would never take to the streets or taunt police or break and throw things and fire guns and start screaming like bloody murder when even touched by a police officer. That’s absurd.

This guy will be on the streets tonight looking for an excuse to blow nnocent people away…and he is bragging about it.

Phillips has been recently working for Russia’s Zvezda TV channel, run by the Defense Ministry. He previously worked as a freelance journalist for RT and has been held by Ukraine’s troops several times.

In late May, Phillips was detained by Ukraine’s servicemen and released only after the incident was reported by foreign mass media outlets. In July, the journalist was deported from Ukraine and banned from re-entering the country for three years.

Four months ago, Andrew Cuomo falsely stated that New York just recently started seeing tornadoes. On Saturday, the governor gave a press conference where he slammed meteorologists for their largely accurate Buffalo snow forecasts. As usual, Andrew Cuomo is clueless.

Don Paul, chief meteorologist for Buffalo’s CBS affiliate, said it best on his Facebook page:

Governor Cuomo’s attempt to scapegoat the National Weather Service for an inaccurate forecast in advance is not only completely in error—the NWS did an outstanding job—but is a disservice to the public and to the hard-working staff of this federal agency. No forecast of such an historical disaster is going to be absolutely perfect, but no one who lives here can say this event was not well forecast in advance, or that the warning headlines of its impact to come were not well explained in advance…his statement is disinformation, purposeful or ill-informed.

I’m willing to go one step further and point out that Andrew Cuomo’s attempt to trash the National Weather Service for this unusual lake effect snow event is nothing but a cheap and sleazy attempt on his part to garner public support for a weather forecasting system he wants to implement in his state.

Want to really rock someone that loves to put Christmas decorations up early, mention that in the past many people didn’t put up the tree and decorate it until Christmas eve. That was a big part of the holiday and made it really special.

And the tree came down the day after New Years if it stayed up that long. After all…it is called a Christmas tree.

It all goes to show you how big advertising dollars, commercial store decorations and keeping up with the Joneses can change people’s perceptions of the whole holiday.

Problem here is according to the law, all Officer Wilson has to say is he perceived a threat to his life. It’s impossible to argue whether that perception was right or wrong, the question is if he felt it. If yes, no charges.

The law is fucked up. I want him indicted so we can have a trial and get everything out on the table. I want us to have this public conversation. I still am hoping for that.

But I am really surprised at the demographics of the jury. How the hell does an area that is 80% black have 9 of 12 jurors that are white?

This is the most bungled, tone-deaf situation I have ever seen in my lifetime when race is a factor. I guess I should not be surprised, but I have seen a lot of shit and this is the worst display of lack of common decency and respect for the legitimate concerns of a community I have ever seen.
