I’m setting up a Facebook Page for LGF, and I’ve now got the auto-posting thing together - whenever I post something or promote a page to the front, it now uses the Facebook API to post there as well.

Pages are different from user profiles: Facebook Page vs Facebook Profile: Do You Know the Difference?

(I should have done this a long time ago, but to be honest I really don’t like the Facebook system on a lot of levels.)

I haven’t made our Facebook Page public yet - I’ll post something about it when I do.

Elizabeth Lauten has removed her FB page where she made that nasty comment about the Obama daughters, then deleted that post after it got lots of attention. Then she made a very weak apology on her FB page last night, and got hammered for that as well.
(Her twitter account is still active, however. For now.)

Facebook is a lot easier for trolls to create mayhem.

Plus, there’s some kid with the same name posting all over YouTube, if you can imagine such a thing.

(I’ll post more from his CD when I get to the shop.)

So, last Thursday, I turned on a whole new generation to Columbo.

One of my students, a 10-year old, she’s a big fan of detective stories and films; so I pulled up an episode of Columbo on YouTube, and her English is good enough that she could understand it.

Heh…..she text messaged me today and said her and her older brother - another one of my students as well - have been binge-watching Columbo after school.

They love it.

They were well written and crafted, though I always enjoyed it more if I didn’t watch the crime. It would still be obvious WHO did it but it was more fun, for me, to watch him catch the villain without knowing everything.

I just finally finished with the Thanksgiving food. Cooked all day Wednesday and a lot of Thursday. Dinner for 7 around the campfire Thurs. Eve; leftover dinner for 3 last night (without a microwave - died Thurs night) and a movie, Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Just made ham salad with much of the leftover ham, split all the other leftovers, including more ham and the turkey and took half of all of it to my friend. Only thing left is to finish eating all teh goodness.

I am triumphant.

Republican Congressional Aide Says Obama Daughters Lack Role Models

A Republican congressional staffer is contemplating what it means to be classy after receiving criticism for an online rant against Sasha and Malia Obama.

Elizabeth Lauten, the communications director for Representative Stephen Fincher, wrote on Facebook Friday that President Barack Obama’s daughters should “try showing a little class” after their less-than-enthusiastic appearance at Wednesday’s White House turkey pardon, according to the Commercial Appeal newspaper in Memphis, Tenn.
[…]

Lauten also took issue with the outfits that Malia and Sasha wore to the event. “Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar,” she wrote.
