Chuck C. Johnson Still Trying to Bully Politico With Lawsuit Threats

Delusional
Wingnuts • Views: 42,360

Yes, he’s still ranting about suing Politico, folks.

I have to admit I’m hoping he really does try to sue Politico, because it will be fun to see him have to pay their legal bills when he loses. Which he will. But no real lawyer will take a bogus case like this, so it probably won’t happen unless he finds an attorney completely devoid of ethics.

Oh, and this one is a real jaw-dropper. The Ginger Avenger is now trying to picture his extortion threats to out purported rape victim “Jackie” as… kindness. This guy has some serious screws loose.

I want my critics to think I am a paper tiger right before I strike.

Shouldn’t that read “pooper tiger”?

Chucky doesn’t quite understand that someone who keeps issuing threats but never goes through on them when his bluff is called is very much a paper tiger. If he wants his critics to believe him anything but, perhaps he might consider not lobbing threats like a monkey flinging shit.

So he’s suggesting that a journalist should not be judged upon what he reports or on whether he does so truthfully, but simply on the “veracity” of his reporting?

Well, I guess that explains why Fox News is so popular.

The photographer who took that terrible/awfu/scary photo of upchuck should be hanging his head in shame, not shouting to the world that he’s responsible for it. From his twitter feed, he’s as much of a whackjob as upchuck.

I have no way of knowing if that is true or not. It would explain a lot about his apparent social awkwardness, especially in his earlier years, but I don’t think it is relevant. He has a malignant streak and is being actively encouraged in all this by people who should know better than to do it.

If upchuck ever gets to the point of filing an actual libel lawsuit, I would LOVE to see this defense invoked. (Hilarity would ensue.)

Claimant is incapable of further defamation - e.g., the claimant’s position in the community is so poor that defamation could not do further damage to the plaintiff. Such a claimant could be said to be “libel-proof”, since in most jurisdictions, actual damage is an essential element for a libel claim. Essentially, the defense is that the person had such a bad reputation before the libel, that no further damage could possibly have been caused by the making of the statement.

The DNR/LNR bandits are basically saying in plain text that Russia does supply them with weapons, and are complaining about an alleged new policy that pushes them back into Ukraine (the Moscow handler allegedly prohibited them from leaving the hryvnia-zone). Putin’s regime will, of course, dismiss this as “not evidence”.

U.C. Berkeley Police Investigate Cardboard Cutouts of Lynching Victims Found on Campus

news.kron4.com

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Three cardboard cutouts of black people were found hanging by nooses Saturday on the Berkeley campus of the University of California.

“School spokeswoman Amy Hamaoui said police are trying to determine who hanged the effigies that were found at two prominent campus locations Saturday morning. The spokeswoman said the effigies appear to be connected to a noon-time demonstration nearby planned to coincide with a national protest against police brutality dubbed “#blacklivesmatters.” (my emphasis) The effigies appear to be life-size photos of lynching victims. Two depicted men and third was a photograph of a female victim.

“The effigies had names of lynching victims and the dates of their death. At least one effigy had “I Can’t Breathe” printed on the front. Hamaoui said it’s unclear who hanged the effigies.”

I totally agree. I was looking forward to Chuck Todd squirming.

I did hear an interesting point on Melissa Harris-Perry’s show today, however, and I would like to hear a lawyer’s opinion on this. One of the panelists she had on said that the fact that Bush’s White House counsel had declared these techniques to be legal would make prosecuting those who engaged in torture difficult. I had not considered that before and I wonder if that’s one of the reasons DOJ has stated it will not prosecute.

I was on a call with a client this afternoon and in the background I heard Al Shaprton’s voice blaring from the March in DC. What he was saying and the way he was saying it reminded me to a point of Martin Luther King Jr.

“I have a dream” was in 1963.

It is FIFTY ONE YEARS later and we’re still dealing with this.

Given what’s been happening around the country as of late, MLK day next month will be interesting.

Hola Lizards!

At work we have been tasked with decorating our cubicles because the VP of our division doesn’t want to lead a bunch of slackers who don’t want to be festive. I have spent a grand total of $5 on decorations — $1 on a roll of wrapping paper to use on the cube walls, $1 on candy canes, and $3 on some glitter ornaments. That’s as much effort as I’m willing to put in. He’s going to have to live with it.

Our commander did that—each office door to have a holiday theme. All it takes is a stocking and a few bits of wound moulage from the flight surgeon’s training kit: Ta Da—“A Jeffery Dahmer Christmas”.

Bond failed miserably in that film as an agent though. A real M would have fired him after that, if Bond didn’t let her get killed that is.

For me, the saving graces of previous Bond films were the diabolical villains and the occasional touches of humor. The Craig films have lost those things and so become just grim fantasies. Jason Statham is doin’ it better now IMHO.

I found a fair bit of humor that was more to my liking than, say Moonraker but that’s to be expected with that many movies over 50 years. To me the Craig is the best Bond since Connery and, at times, better than him. Perhaps because I read all the books, I prefer a darker & grittier Bond. For the history buffs lizards (of which I know there are many), I found a great item on Hulu. It’s called “Blood On Our Hands: The English Civil War”. It’s done very much like Ken Burns “The Civil War”. Shots of re-enactors as background, sepia tone photographs (yes, I know that photography didn’t exist then). All the “dialog” is from letters and journals of the time.

Very nicely done. I’m giving it 5 stars.

I will not appologize for liking the scene in die another day where we got to see James’ car and the bad guys car to after one another revealing all sorts of cool gadgets to counter the other guys gadgets that was a cool idea that had not been done in a Bond Movie before.

Also honestly if Bond is not having fun doing his job, why exactly should I be expected to be having fun watching him? James Bond is like Batman, you get best results if you work with rather than try to fight against the camp inherent in the material (which is why I feel Mark Hamil’s Joker is superior to Heath Ledger’s…)

I think we can safely agree to dis-agree. :) I didn’t mind a little humor in the franchise, but to me, at some point, it had become a parody of itself. I sometimes like the dark-gritty, but then again, that’s why Baskin-Robbins makes more than just Vanilla and Chocolate. (and now I want ice-cream)

There’s a very schmaltzy Christmas Miracle story in there somewhere.

Kristmas Kittehs.

Two frisky kittens enjoying their first Christmas tear down the family’s artificial tree on Christmas eve morning leaving no time to get a replacement.

Forced to enjoy the holiday without a tree, the family discovers the true meaning of Christmas when they have a great time with each other and realize the tree is just a commercial representation and not needed.

The two kittehs are petted by family members at the end of the film, with Mom telling the audience that she was glad to have their little Kristmas Kittehs. They have brought joy to the family in so many ways.

The End.

But no real lawyer will take a bogus case like this, so it probably won’t happen unless he finds an attorney completely devoid of ethics.

Couple of points:

1. A “lawyer completely devoid of ethics”? One would like to think those would be hard to find, but I - sadly - doubt it.

2. “Filing the suit” in and of itself is probably an irrelevancy to assclown hacks like Chuck Johnson - the important part, to him, is more likely to be the Internet buzz he’ll garner by threatening a suit - and then endlessly yammering away online about how righteous he is/how lame his “enemies”, etc. IOW, link-whoring.

Fun as the bottomless well of mockery may be, is there any REAL reason anyone should pay the least attention to CCJ’s sociopathic rantings?

Yes, I’m old enough to remember when The Simpsons aired once a week, on Thursday nights.

Yeah, but are you old enough to remember them as 3 minute shorts on the Tracy Ullman show? And did you have an onion tied to your belt, as was the style at the time?

286 ObserverArt  Dec 13, 2014 7:29:33pm

Later all. Another day another chapter of Chucky C. Johnson Watch.

Not since OJ Simpson toured California in a Ford Bronco has America had its eyes riveted on a slow moving chase like that of America’s Crappiest Award Winning Journalist Charles C. Johnson and his vehicle Got News as it cruises the ‘net.

I don’t think he will. He’s got too many enemies within the GOP to get the nomination.

I can see Rand Paul being nominated, but not Ted Cruz.

When it comes to how low the GOP will go the past few years have convinced me that there’s no bottom. There is also no GOP nominee too repugnant to garner at least half of the vote.

It’s also somewhat off-base, IMO. In neither of the highest-profile cases do we find anything like what happened to Emmit Till. Both Eric Garner and Michael Brown had broken the law, and while Garner should have just been given a ticket and has his ‘loosies’ confiscated, Brown clearly should have been arrested and would have been had he not violently resisted. Both cops made mistakes, but neither showed the hate and premeditation shown by Till’s killers.

Kinda irrelevant though. It’s the whole police reaction to people and black people in particular.

Pick apart specific incidents all you want, but the bottom line is that armed police are killing unarmed black men and women. It’s the POLICE behavior that matters, not the black person’s.

All I’m saying is that the wrongs (real and perceived) causing the present unrest are still orders-of-magnitude less than the horrors visit upon Emmit Till. I understand what you’re saying, I’m just saying that the comparison is incorrect owing to degree of wrongdoing.

And I’m saying that this isn’t the Wrongness Olympics. The basic problem is inappropriate response by police. Emmit Till committed “sins”, too, for which he was forced to pay for his life.

My dog Dark. You always step too far.

And further, Garner had no loosies on him. They were accosting him for his reputation.

And for the fucking last time, Mike Brown was not accosted for pushing the store owner. The corrupt police let that out to taint your sorry ass opinion. It has worked in the past (Emmit Till whistled at a woman, remember - in dispute)

He was accosted for walking in the street.

It doesn’t really matter why Brown was stopped by Wilson. Nothing justifies firing at him at that distance and while he was running a way. Nothing also justifies the DA deliberately feeding the grand jury unconstitutional laws or acting as Wilson’s defense attorneys during the proceeding.

1.Eric Garner didn’t have any cigs on him.
2. He received no medical aid for 7 minutes. They stood there as he was dying.
3. Even if Mike Brown went after Wilson…and that’s a big IF….he didn’t deserve the two shots to his head. His family also didn’t deserve to watch their child lay on the ground for 4.5 hours.

It’s the way they treated these people and the aftermath that is similar to Emmett Till.

Just because you have a criminal record or were “breaking the law”, doesn’t mean they weren’t victims of racism and police brutality.

Just coming up for air from an extended web comic archive dive.

I learned of “Gunnergkrigg Court” this weekend. gunnerkrigg.com by Tom Siddell.

Exquisite fusion of myth, science, fantasy and art. If you enjoy really really good web cartoons you owe it to yourself to check it out.

This is now on my short list with

Girl Genius
Freefall

XKCD.

Just finished my own dive. That is a great piece of work. I’ll be reading the whole thing.

Nope. What happened to Emmett Till was totally unacceptable,

What happened to Eric Garner and Michael Brown was also totally unacceptable.

What will doubtless happen to ____ in the next few days as a result of evil policing procedures will also be totally unacceptable.

I’d advise against any attempt at parsing out degrees of more or less totally unacceptable, since it invariably comes across as excuse-making for the supposedly ‘lesser’ abomination.

It really is this simple.
