Sarah Palin’s Bizarre Disconnected Word Salad at the Iowa Freedom Freakout, Complete

Palin delivers an entire speech in one incredibly long run-on sentence
Wingnuts • Views: 42,747

Even by Sarah Palin’s already low standards, this speech is extraordinarily incoherent and scattered. I’ve seen a lot of her speeches (do not pity me, it is my job), and I can’t remember a more garbled, deeply weird performance from Caribou Barbie.

Now who can argue with that? I think we’re all indebted to Sarah Palin for clearly stating what needed to be said. I’m particularly glad that these lovely children were here today to hear that speech. Not only was it authentic frontier gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

Palin seems to have a cloud of words floating around in her head. A Palin speech is just her pulling them out of the air and trying to make something englishly out of them.

For this she gets paid far more than Victor Borge ever did.

It’s like she just picked words from a scrabble board, threw them up in the air, and voila (a French word), a speech.

So why did she need to write this all down? She obviously read her speech. I can kind of see extemporaneous word salad, but who writes a speech, reads over the aforementioned word salad, and says “Yep. Sounds good.”

I loved that show. I’ve read that the network got so overbearingly involved that the producers eventually decided that it was better for everyone to chuck the whole thing. A shame really. It was different from most shows of the time. And Woodward was one hell of an actor, The Wicker Man and Breaker Morant to name just two films. He was great at portraying characters who kept their feelings in.

In the latest development in an ongoing legal dispute, a woman who previously accused Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan M. Dershowitz of inappropriately having sexual relations with her when she was a minor has signed a sworn affidavit reaffirming her earlier allegations.

The woman, identified in court documents as “Jane Doe No. 3,” claims in the affidavit that she “had sexual intercourse with Dershowitz at least six times.”

Excerpt:

24. Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz was around Epstein frequently. Dershowitz was so comfortable with the sex that was going on that he would even come and chat with Epstein while I was giving oral sex to Epstein.

25. I had sexual intercourse with Dershowitz at least six times. The first time was when I was about 16, early on in my servitude to Epstein, and it continued until I was 19.

26. The first time we had sex took place in New York in Epstein’s home. It was in Epstein’s room (not the massage room). I was approximately 16 years old at the time. I called Dershowitz “Alan.” I knew he was a famous professor.

27. The second time that I had sex with Dershowitz was at Epstein’s house in Palm Beach. During this encounter, Dershowitz instructed me to both perform oral sex and have sexual intercourse.

28. I also had sex with Dershowitz at Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in New Mexico in the massage room off of the indoor pool area, which was still being painted.

29. We also had sex at Little Saint James Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I was asked to give Dershowitz a massage on the beach. Dershowitz then asked me to take him somewhere more private, where we proceeded to have intercourse.

30. Another sexual encounter between me and Dershowitz happened on Epstein’s airplane. Another girl was present on the plane with us.

31. I have recently seen a former Harvard law professor identified as Alan Dershowitz on television calling me a “liar.” He is lying by denying that he had sex with me. That man is the same man that I had sex with at least six times.

bwahahahaaa………..

Palin’s meltdown: GOP firebrand rambles through ‘teleprompter error’ to leave crowd baffled… just after saying she’s ‘seriously interested’ in 2016 run

Republican firebrand Sarah Palin is rarely lost for words - but tonight she was left grasping for words after her teleprompter apparently left her high and dry.

Palin, who was seen on stage rifling through a binder of notes and stringing together one-liners, left even long-time observers baffled after seemingly lurching from joke to joke without making a point.

snip

Sixteen minutes into her speech, Palin had only just finished waxing lyrical about her Iowan hosts, whom she imagined sitting on their porches ‘clinging to your guns, your God and your constitution’.

Political experts who had flocked to the summit to hear the raft of influential speakers were almost lost for words.

One characterized the opening of her speech as ‘rambling incoherently’, while another said she ‘used half of her allotted time talking about herself and taking jabs at media coverage’.

In the course of the address she took it upon herself to bring up recent controversies, including outrage from animal rights activists following a photograph showing her son standing on their pet dog, as well as leaked revealing pictures of her own daughter, Bristol.

When the substance of her speech arrived, she hit out at Obama over his recent executive order on undocumented immigrants, as well as claiming the Democrats have an even worse record for its treatment with women than right-wing organizations.

Despite frequent reference to ‘real solutions’ necessary to solve America’s problems - which she said included a bloated government as well as a President who refuses to listen to Congress - Palin did not elaborate on what they might be.

The content of the speech led to widespread speculation that Palin was flying solo after her prompter broke - though at least one watcher said he could see words scrolling by, which would indicate that the address was exactly what she meant to say

again…BWAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Dershowitz is one thing, but I have a hard time believing that Epstein gave Bill Clinton the “full” treatment when traveling with him, especially with a Secret Service detail present; how does none of them say absolutely nothing to anyone, especially the press, for 13 years? However, given JFK’s history with the ladies as President, it’s within the realm of possibility.

Bill Clinton took repeated trips on the ” Lolita Express”—the private passenger jet owned by billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein—with an actress in softcore porn movies whose name appears in Epstein’s address book under an entry for “massages,” according to flight logbooks obtained by Gawker and published today for the first time.

re: #178 Dark_Falcon

You cannot excuse bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

Unless that bad behavior involves inviting the head of another government to treat with the legislative branch without consulting the executive.

Because, after all, we are a nation of laws and divided governmental powers, except when the President gets all uppity about six years in insults, obstructionism, and conspiracy theories. He has to be taught his place…by a hyper-conservative leader touting a policy that his own intelligence agency thinks is fucking stupid.

Have you noticed after umpteen years of discussions that you always bring up how it’s “necessary” and “strategic” for the GOP to engage in a three-ring circus of lies, calculated snubs, and empty symbolic horseshit to appease their base. And it still hasn’t occurred to you that

(1) If the base…the voting core, the functional spine of the armature of party politics…are only appeased by scat-throwing and racism, there will never not be a time when scat-throwing and racism will not be the chosen media of the GOP.

(2) You can’t be the voice of milquetoastian resistance to wingnuttery and the voice of milquetoastian justification of winguttery without seeming either disingenuous or deeply compartmentalized.

(3) In excusing this behavior, you’re telling parties external to the party that Republican Daddy Hits Them Because He Loves Them. We’re not “the base,” which means we’re all just on the block waiting to be degraded or denigrated.

TL/DR: You constantly wave away bad behavior. You do not get to tell anyone about bad behavior, even Bill Fucking Clinton’s bad behavior.

In the case under discussion, I don’t see any problems for Bill Clinton in that respect. As to Hillary, I don’t believe anyone has said anything about her being on any of those flights.

Yes, consenting adults is a given. If it’s not, it’s breaking the law. I am super sensitive to sexual assaults, rape and kiddy diddlers. I tend to be rather draconian about what I think their punishments should be. I will spare everyone my tirade about abusers and rapists.

Bill is a dog. I think he always has been. How badly did he fuck US over? That is what I care about.

People cheat. We’re basically animals, right? Men and women fuck. I don’t like judging others myself. I am not a perfect person in many respects. But I am also not a raging hypocrite…and that is what infuriates me.

I wouldn’t take issue with Newt (aside from the fact that it was incredibly distasteful for him to serve his wife divorce papers while she was in the hospital being treated for cancer, which to me is completely disgusting), but sex? Who cares. And those who do care…how pure is your life? (Not YOU you, but you know what I mean).

From “Strong Opinions” by Vladimir Nabokov, “In Answer To The Question: What Scenes One Would Like To Have Filmed”:

Shakespeare in the part of the King’s Ghost.
The beheading of Louis the Sixteenth, the drums drowning his speech on the scaffold.
Herman Melville at breakfast, feeling a sardine to his cat.
Poe’s wedding.
Lewis Carroll’s picnics.
The Russians leaving Alaska, delighted with the deal.
Shot of a seal applauding.

Emphasis mine.

It’s all about HIM. From the title (BUSTED: The Real Dana Loesch: A Hypocrite and A Fraud Lying About Andrew Breitbart And Me) to the tenor of the entire piece. It screams ME ME ME!

I would very much like to see Dana Loesch brought down. Unlike UpChuck, she has a (deeply negative) real-world impact through her radio show and political work.

Perhaps someday, an actual professional journalist can do the job. I hope CCJ’s whiny, useless diatribe doesn’t have the unintended negative effect of increasing Loesch’s standing in the circles where they both move. But since everything CCJ touches turns to shit, I wouldn’t bet on it.

Excuse you, but sooper geniuses with IQ’s of eleventy billion don’t have to listen to mere mortals. Andrew Breitbart said so.

America’s Test Kitchen/Cook’s Country have rediscovered the slow-cooker. They’ve had some great recipes—I remember onion soup and baked ziti in particular.

I’ve been impressed with a lot of the stuff I’ve found on ATK. Found a way to do perfect fried eggs every single time. (I’m easy to please)

The spouse and I use those two recipes all the time, the onion soup recipe especially this time of year. Just between us, the secret is the bread imho. I like a strong sourdough. Mia sposa thinks its more about the cheese.

Disagreement makes for good food. It’s all about the spice, if you catch my drift.

re: #204 The Ghost of the Vanishing Commissar

Excellent post. But I’m afraid it will fall on deaf ears in the case of DF. He seems less interested in constructive dialogue than in the past, more in simply dutifully towing the party line. He also drops more troll type turds into threads, with no real intention of discussing the issue or responding to comments.

You can make really good barbecue with a slow cooker - it does the slow, low heat cooking all day and the broiler gives it that nice brown, caramelized finish.

I know I’ve made this point repeatedly before, but as a J-school graduate it’s glaringly obvious that Chuck doesn’t have a fucking clue how to write. There’s no journalistic structure and horrid grammar all throughout that trainwreck of a post.

That’s why he’s a wingnut “journalist.” It’s just like Christian “Rock.” If you don’t have the skills to succeed in the mainstream, you can still find success in pandering to a cult.
