Chuck C. Johnson Attacks Dana Loesch: All Sane People Win

“I’m limited legally in what I can reveal.”
Wingnuts • Views: 34,023

Here it is, folks — the hit piece on Dana Loesch Chuck C. Johnson has been threatening to post all day; he finally worked up the guts to go through with it: BUSTED: The Real Dana Loesch: A Hypocrite and a Fraud Lying About Andrew Breitbart and Me.

Hilariously, this whole brouhaha was started when Chuck and Dana got in a pissing match over who was really the inheritor of dead Andrew Breitbart’s “legacy.”

Yes, that’s right — they’re squabbling over who’s the sleaziest bottom feeder of them all. Pardon me while I put on some more popcorn. Can they both win?

UPDATE at 1/24/15 8:22:09 pm by Charles Johnson

Loesch fires back at the Ginger Avenger.

@STKnutsen works for him. She’s some kind of wingnut church secretary in GA who fancies herself a professional researcher. She’s the one who misidentified the slut walk dc photo as being of the alleged UVA rape victim, to try and support the otherwise baseless assertion that she’d “cried rape” before.

@jlangdale claims he got paid by Chuck once too, for some scoop. The guy seems a little bit unstable and desperate to horn in on Chuck’s grifter revenue stream. But he was a USAF image analyst and knows how pixels work, so there’s that. He started calling him out on Twitter more and more broke publicly with CCJ about a month or so ago, around the time of the Neil Degrasse Tyson hit piece.

When I was stationed at Ft. Ord, the conf. room next to our shop had a tv, and at lunch time we’d all run in there to eat and watch Jerry S. The great thing about that show is that no matter how messed up you thought your life was, you could watch that and think “I’m doing pretty damn good. Life’s ok!”.

I also love the time he got punked by the group of street performers from New Orleans. I was dating a girl down there at a time (the second ex), and it was the talk of the town. (The Springer story, not me dating a girl).

A. Reading Chucksie’s “attack”, I’m not clear on what the crime is. Her husband benefited from a tax credit? A politician paid them to use their studio for something? So fucking what?

B. Dana Loesch is, according to all evidence, a horrible person. However, Poophobbit made sexist attacks on her on twitter, so I hope she finishes him like Sub Zero in Mortal Kombat.

Which makes me think that a gory fight game featuring Right Wing Media figures might be fun…

My new name for UpChuck is King MyAss, because:

- He uses the word My a lot because everything is about him
- Under oath he’d have to admit “My sources all come from my ass”
- King Midas Midas died of starvation as a result of his “vain prayer” for the gold touch. I see some interesting parallels.
- Everything he touches turns to poop
- My Ass is what I’d like to tell him to kiss.

I’ve been away from LGF and the internet for most of the weekend and I missed all of this.

I really hope the run-up to these two articles was more entertaining than the articles themselves, because they both pretty much sucked.

I’ll give Loesch a slight edge because she appears to be slightly more familiar with spelling, grammar and punctuation. But reading dueling articles by two pissy wingnuts is painful enough in itself.

HAHAHA, good luck kid. I’ve met Savage, and worked for The Stranger for awhile. There’s nothing to find, the guy has lived his life in the open longer than Greene has been alive.

I can kind of wrap my head around the Log Cabin dudes who just wanted to argue for economic conservatism while fighting for their own equality int he courts. In case people forget LCR ended up being the party responsible for bringing down DADT. However else one feels about them that’s kind of fucking amazing.

What I will never understand are this weird group of young Tea Party gays who constantly argue against their own equality under the law. The do it under some monomaniacally strict and pedantic reading of the Constitution. One where it’s not the text itself they hold dear, but what they subjectively glean to have been the intent of the people who wrote it. In their view there is no such thing as the tyranny of the majority on this issue. Until the elected legislatures grant gays equal rights to the institution of marriage it’s not legit, and it’s somehow actually fascism for the courts to step in and rectify these injustices.

Shaking my damned head.

Scott Walker’s presidential pursuit has damaged his image with some republicans here.

Gov. Scott Walker rejects Kenosha casino project

Gov. Scott Walker has rejected the Kenosha casino project.

Walker announced Friday that he had informed the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) of his decision about the casino project proposed by the Menominee Tribe of Wisconsin and Hard Rock International.

“After a comprehensive review of the potential economic impact of the proposed Kenosha casino project, the risk to the state’s taxpayers is too great,” Walker said. “Due to the compacts negotiated by Governor Doyle, the current cost to taxpayers of approving the proposed casino project is up to $100 million and the long-term economic hit to the state budget would be a potential loss of hundreds of millions of dollars.”

He predictably blames former governor Jim Doyle (mention of this name drives WiGOP Pavlovian response). Cool story bro.

Compact reached with Menominee Tribe over Kenosha casino

…The Menominee tribe hailed the amended compact, saying it eliminates the state’s risk in approving the $800 million facility at the former Dairyland Greyhound Park. Tribe chairwoman Laurie Boivin said in a statement that the compact answers the state’s concerns and Walker now has a “clear path” to approve the project.

The compact lays out gambling rules and outlines how much the Menominee would pay the state if Walker approves the project. WISN-TV reported the tribe would pay the state 7.5 percent of its net winnings from the Kenosha facility.

The compact also states that the tribe would make up any budget shortfall caused by a reduction in payments from compacts with the Potawatomi and Ho-Chunk tribes, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The Potawatomi tribe, which runs one of the state’s most lucrative casinos in Milwaukee, has led the opposition to the Menominee proposal, fearing that a new competitor would cut into profits.

So his story falls apart, but why would he lie?

Iowa conservatives warn Scott Walker about casino expansion

Influential social conservatives in Iowa are warning Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker that approving a proposed Kenosha casino next month could hurt his presidential bid.

In one of the first tests of his second term, Walker must decide by Feb. 19 whether to approve the $800 million project proposed by the Menominee tribe and backed by Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole tribe of Florida.

As Walker considers the impact of a casino on Wisconsin, gambling opponents want to make sure he doesn’t forget Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucus to select presidential nominees. Important for any presidential bid, Iowa is particularly key for Walker, who spent part of his childhood there and now governs a neighboring state.

Tom Coates, executive director of Consumer Credit of Des Moines, wrote Walker after his November re-election and sent him a petition against gambling expansion he said had been signed by 600 Republicans, including U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and both Republican National Committee members from Iowa, Steve Scheffler and Tamara Scott.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Yesterday’s snow was the appetizer for the main course coming Monday into Tuesday. They’re now forecasting a foot or more of snow, particularly from Northern NJ east into NYC, Long Island, Connecticut and up into New England. Woo.

I’d rather shovel snow than trying to unwind the steaming piles of derp dumped by Chuckles, Loesch, and their various backers.

The only thing Loesch has going for her is that she calls out Chuckles for being a derptastic fabulist. And she’s not far behind on that account either. So, it’s really that Loesch isn’t Chuckles.

Both truly deserve each other.

Both lie, obfuscate, and in Chuckles’ case, he threatens lawsuits at every opportunity even though he’s got no concept of the legal system, and frankly doesn’t have any money to do anything he say he wants to do. So, he grifts. All the time.

And while I can’t stand the fact that so much time is spent debunking his derp, it’s got to be done because he’s poisoning the Twitterverse and his stories get picked up by other outlets, even though they’re flimsy and unsourced (he’s got unnamed sources everywhere, which is to say nowhere except the voices in his head).

Comment on the original post…

Wow, a flurry of typical RW nonsense with their inflated proportions being presented as nothing of importance—by them. Love it.

I’m a patient person and an optimist by nature. It’s only a matter of time when these people devoting time to a willing marketplace that feeds them a vocation (let’s be real about the purpose of this fighting couple) find out such markets are as short lived as beanie babies.

The GOP and TP have done a great job inciting their audience into a fear flurry as the number of RW outlets that allow the comment rants of likeminded followers attest.

Eventually, after the election, things will begin to dry up. That’s my hope at least. Until then, the cannibalism that usually comes with extremists vying for the top of the food chain of income and notoriety is great for occasional entertainment. And this is entertainment.

Their market is both proven and tarnished by the wild fantasies of those making a lot more money than these two douches will ever make. That’s what I love about all of this, the more whacked you are, the more you make. Regardless of truth or fact.

Posted previously about that. Paged in fact.

Silver’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are likely to be more complaints or indictments handed down in coming weeks and months because Silver was hardly the only one to benefit from the fact that the legislature is a part-time job (allowing everyone to have side jobs that enhance their salaries, increase conflicts of interest, and lax oversight).

Silver’s benefited immensely from the status quo, and he’s fought against efforts to clean up the legislature. But the one step that would do more to stop the corruption and outside influence is the one that few are willing to take - make it a full time job that eliminates all outside jobs.

They’re paid like a full-time position - at $79,500 a year in the Assembly, plus per diems and committee assignments that can add thousands to the base salary.

Silver’s case in particular may have some serious fallout on asbestos litigation in NY and beyond since he works for one of the major asbestos litigators, Weitz and Luxemberg, and one of the major mesothelioma doctors is also implicated.

Among those being targeted or suggested in the next round? Dov Hikind, Greg Ball, George Maziarz, Martin Golden, and Andrew Cuomo (yeah, I buried the lede). There’s Democrats and Republicans on the list, but a couple have already admitted that they’re currently under investigation.

In Hikind’s case, it stems from payments to/from a Brooklyn hospital. Golden’s office confirms they’re being investigated as well. Others were being investigated for improper use of campaign funds to go on trips or make unrelated purchases.

Cuomo’s name comes up because he basically spiked the Moreland Commission which was supposed to be investigating corruption in the state, and instead Cuomo defanged the Commission after the legislature agreed to some cosmetic reforms.

And by putting Silver’s case first, Bharara is signaling to the rest of the legislature that no one is safe, and that they better start dishing or else they too will be on the list for indictments.

The problem is that ‘apostasy’ not only has definition in Islam, but is also punishable by death. Therefore, if you called Islamist terrorists ‘apostates’, the impression the enemy will take is that you want to kill them all, and they’ll use that to fuel their “war on Islam” propaganda.

I prefer to call any of them apostates. They’re simply not following the religious precepts of their religion.

Actually they do. There is no pure religion in vacuum. Religion is always interpretation - more literal, less literal, more creative, less creative, whatever. Unless you can find a method of establishing the “one true interpretation” of Islam, all versions of Islam are on the same epistemological ground (moral questions and compatibility with the modern world aside). Note that “one true interpretation” is not the same as “the original intent interpretation” (otherwise true Christians would have to be YECs, as an example, since the Biblical authors did believe in young earth).

But what if other Muslims do it? For instance, Prince Turki al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia, who all but called ISIS “apostates”?

Moreover, the group’s styling itself as “Islamic State” shows it is completely out of touch with reality and ignorant of international laws, since the dictionary definition of the word “state” is: “a politically organized body of people usually occupying a definite sovereign territory, overseen by a group of permanent institutions.” The essential components of any state are, therefore, a government, a people, a defined physical territory, and sovereignty, as well as the international and legal recognition of its statehood. Neither Iraq nor Syria totally fall under the control of this group, neither does it practice its authority via permanent institutions—and, of course, there is no international recognition of any kind for this so-called state. As for its “Islamic” credentials, these are completely bogus. The members of this group are indeed the new Kharijites of the Muslim world (a 7th-century group that left the fold of Islam and was notorious for its barbarity and cruelty). ISIS’s crimes testify to the appropriateness of this particular appellation.

In Muslim terms, that’s pretty much outright calling them apostates.

Indeed. Just as killing Christians are Christians, killing Muslims are Muslims.
Someone who says otherwise merely arbitrarily picked one interpretation of Christianity (or Islam) and declared it as correct.
It is not possible to do it consistently outside the religion (an atheist has no business picking “one true version” of any religion, for example).
It is possible to do it consistently inside the religion (a member of sect A can consistently believe that a member of sect B is an apostate). But such intrareligious classification is not binding upon anyone outside that particular sect.

They practice a very fundamentalist form of Islam, but the USA accepts and tolerates it because they help support our interests in the region (at least over the short term).

But we blithely forget that fifteen of the nineteen 9/11 attackers were Saudis, or as initial news reports indicated “men with Saudi passports”.

The same thing can be said these days about the “intent of the Founders” concerning the Constitution, an exercise that goes on today and some of what we’ve seen in Iowa.

Yes, it was human beings, and that’s the point. Interpretation of sect A is not more correct than that of sect B unless you happen to be a member of sect A.

All one could argue is that someone has deviated from classical/traditional/historical interpretations of a particular religion (e.g. Mormons from historical Christianity; Protestants from historical Christianity; Catholics… well, you see where this leads; it’s also highly contextual). “Historical” != “one true” (or do we hold that the modern liberal versions of Christianity are objectively false and heretical, given how strongly they deviate from the historical Christianity? It’s a double-edged sword.)

True.

Yet none of which points very reliably at Saudi Government involvement in the 9/11plot.

When Americans tried to overthrow an African government, was it fair to assume our President was behind the plot? Should Ireland have thought the US government was secretly behind the IRA? Cause lots of American money bought guns and bomb materials.

Many rightly say we invaded Iraq the second time on thin and false evidence. Some of those claim we invaded the wrong country when we went after the Taliban in Afghanistan. That we should have invaded Saudi for no other reasons than A-Most of the attackers were from there and B-We were really really mad enough to invade somebody anybody. Even on on thin or misleading evidence.

These things do not work together.

What happened to the lesson to be far more careful, not less about who we invade?

A part of the reason is that most dart guns are long guns, so to carry one a cop has to not carry the shotgun, SMG, or assault rifle he would need to deal with an armed and hostile human.

It’s also that killing the dog is sometimes done for intimidation purposes as a way to scare those being raided into compliance. One tactic when taking prisoners (or hostages in the case of terrorists) is to kill someone right at the start to let the others know you are willing to kill. Killing a dog can accomplish much of this purpose without the potential repercussions of killing a human.

Don’t know the source of 9/11 funding, but I’m pretty sure it’s knowable, and probably known by people we pay to know things.

Well little if any of this has been dis proven And the money involved was on a scale easily smuggled in for decades from people illegally leaving a country and entering here with their wealth hidden in hard assets or that informal banking system many in the middle east use. When the shah fell people came in with that kind of money in diamonds smuggled out. My dad and I helped one family do exactly that back in the day.

When “Polar Cap” hit, that is to say gold/money laundering raids happened here in los Angeles the number was billions of dollars. No terror involvement there, but it shows how easily money moves under the radar.

As far as any government instigating or knowingly supporting that plot goes, I simply await better evidence than origin.

Absolutely true! Which is why I find the “apostate” approach highly problematic on practical grounds too. Because practically speaking, even if one could establish “the true [insert religion name here]”, it’s not a fact that we would actually want people to follow it. Because while corpora of religious text do contain some “good” rules, they more often than not contain a lot of stuff incompatible with the modern world. So, again practically speaking, in such cases we would like folks to be “apostates”. The opposite approach closes the door for reformism.

Donald Trump arrived at a high-profile GOP gathering in Iowa to train his fire on his fellow Republicans, telling the audience that neither Mitt Romney nor Jeb Bush can win the presidential nomination.

He draw applause for those lines at the Freedom Summit, a gathering that neither of those men attended.

“It can’t be Mitt, because Mitt ran and failed. He failed,” Trump said, bringing cheers from the audience. “He choked. He had that election won.”

Turning to Bush, Trump cited the former Florida governor’s support of Common Core education standards and a path to legalization for undocumented immigrants as straying too far from conservative ideology.

Although Trump is irrelevant in the long term his remarks provide a preview of far right attacks on Romney and Bush.

Moreover, I need to reiterate that when Chris Kyle took aim at that kid, what mattered was not anything the White House had done or said, but keeping that kid from killing his comrades. That may come across as overly simplistic, but it needs to be remembered that in combat some things are brutally simple. In such circumstances, it’s less about which cause is right than about staying alive and keeping your buddies alive.

After the hard wipe it still has 5 on it, but now it seems to be running very nicely again. Now I get to reinstall the apps I want, and get stuff arranged how I like it.

We had a whopping 1/2 inch of snow here on the Tenn-Ky boarder yesterday morning, only problem was that my drivers door had frozen shut, so I had to crawl in from the passenger side. It thawed out quickly once I started driving however, and I could get out like a normal person.

I think again , the designation of “enemy” has to do with public perception of who our “enemy” is and not necessarily the actual situation.

We have met the enemy, and he is us.

286 Bass Reeves  Jan 25, 2015 11:02:37am

I saw A.S. opening night, and thought it was a pretty well done, depressing movie. I did not view it as a propaganda film at all. Normally the propaganda movies try to glorify the training and play up camaraderie. I really didn’t see it here. This film spoke to Kyle’s emotional dysfunction, and the overly simplistic view he had of the conflict. None of the people he was close to in the movie (wife, brother, teammates) with had the same view he did, and he obviously couldn’t understand that. Cooper and Eastwood did a very good job portraying that, which makes it odd for me to see people saying the movie glorified war.

re: #256 GlutenFreeJesus

That’s a really good point. Which I don’t think the movie fully explored, but I think that’s because Kyle didn’t understand it himself. He spent all that time over there, and (at least in the movie) never seemed to have any use for the Iraqis other than his terp. What’s particularly sad about that is the whole underpinning of counter-insurgency theory is that you can’t beat an insurgency by killing the insurgents, you have to get the population on your side. The Kyle of the movie (haven’t decided whether or not to read the book) didn’t get that, never understood why he was over there. I spent 13 months in Ramadi in from 2007-2008 (including 8 months before the Anbar Awakening) doing all I could to keep the people I was around alive (both US and Iraqis), and I have no doubt that if the Sunnis hadn’t *decided* to cooperate, no amount of sniper kills would have allowed us to extricate from the country even as poorly as we did.

I guess it is then unfortunate that the audience for this movie has such a lack of nuance. This was a movie that showed the emotional and physical damage done to vets by a war that should not have been initiated, and it somehow gets viewed as a rah rah team film.

Don’t take this as me advocating for people to go to the movies to see it or anything, my only point was the movie wasn’t glorifying war at all, and Kyle doesn’t actually come out looking like a hero unless you blindly believe all members of the military are heroes already.

Heh. Just looked at the weather radar. Green (rain) below I-70…blue (snow) above. I live about 1/2 mile off I-70 and there is no snow currently even though I am just inside the area indicated by the radar to be snowing.

Gotta give that radar credit, it is damn accurate. And I-70 is some kind of a weather barrier.

Interestingly there is one instance where increased snowfall is actually evidence of global warming. In the interior of Antarctica there are regions where it was previously too cold during much of the year for the air to hold any moisture at all, so the areas received very little precip. With warming those areas are now seeing an increase in snowfall / ice thickness.

MrBWS came home a day early and spent most of his time here coughing, sleeping, and generally miserable with the flu.
He left about an hour ago, feeling somewhat improved but still drained. Normally, he doesn’t mind being called out for storm but, still feeling like a stepped on cracker, he’s not looking forward to this big one in the forecast.

We can’t have an amendment that prevents the Koch Brothers from effectively buying and selling politicians, but we can have one that makes bigotry the law of the land.

I wonder if these morons ever stop for a second and consider how they’re going to look to future generations, perhaps contemplating the possibility that they’ll be the subject of the same sort of derision that is shown to those who pushed Prohibition.

Something our cold northeast lizards might want to make…
Taking me second shot at a beef soup. Mirepoix saute then 3 cans beef stock base. Then wine/butter sauteed 1 package mushrooms. Scoop most of the mirepoix out and replace with mushrooms. Add 2 cups water. Cook the 2 packages marinated stew beef cubes in the mushroom pan then put those in. Then saute some cubed potato in the beef pan. then those go in. All in to simmer for a few hours. Started at 10:00 am just now put it to simmer. Stock pot is full now.

Red wine substitutes:
• Chicken, beef, or vegetable stock
• Grape, pomegranate, or cranberry juice
• For acidity or deglazing, add about a tablespoon of red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar per cup of stock or fruit juice
• For sweetness, add sugar or honey

White wine substitutes:
• Verjus
• Chicken or vegetable stock
• White grape or apple juice
• For acidity or deglazing, add about a tablespoon of white wine vinegar or lemon juice per cup of stock or fruit juice

Paul Prudhomme, in his “fork in the road” cookbook turned me on to the idea of using apple or other juices as cooking staple. You add some in, let it really reduce on down. Adds a big kick of flavor.

Stew is what you make it. Brown off the meat well to get some nice caramelization and flavor, get a good bunch of aromatics all sizzling together, add a good base liquid (I love tossing some V8 in there), and toss in what ya got.

Add some love and it will be fantastic.

The joke is that austerity only works when the economy is growing and there is enough work on the private market to take up the slack. Austerity when the economy is in recession is self-defeating.

Maybe. But it’s already plunged since the revaluation of the Swiss franc. I would guess that 1.12 is it for the time being.
