Glad Jon pointed that out. You don’t see the Arlington County chairman doing what Rudy does with 9/11 and that’s because that individual has more class than Rudy does. Rudy thinks because he was mayor during 9/11 that he shouldn’t get any criticism for assine comments like the ones he made about the President.

Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda, and a terrorist who’s responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children.
Took me ten seconds to find that.

Yep like wanting to believe that the president that has done more than any other president against Islamic terrorism is somehow a sympathizer to their cause. Really not only is it downright offensive to claim President Obama sympathizes with the terrorists, it’s downright absurd but these people want to believe anything negative about President Obama because they have no use for reality. Just a world where somehow despite being charge of the mission that killed OBL that President Obama is somehow an Al Queda sympathizer.

I sure wish the ‘net could get videos working better. Flash crashes suck.

Wasn’t there going to be a new HTML standard or something that would replace flash player? Or is the problem all of the old videos that are already flash coded might not be playable in a new format.

Chrome is even worse.

Funny thing…I now find IE 11 (11.0.9600.17633) works the best with flash videos and sites that have a ton of ads. Many times I copy links from LGF and open a tab in IE which is always on in the background and no crashes and faster loading times.

I used to never touch IE and now I find I am using it more and more on my Windoze 7 systems.

Fiore, who is also CEO of a healthcare company, told listeners to her weekly radio show on Saturday, that she will soon introduce a “terminally ill bill,” to allow more non-FDA-approved treatments for those diagnosed as having terminal illnesses.

Her “healthcare company” is “Always There Personal Care of Nevada”…a nursing home, and she/her company have hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax liens:

Michele Fiore, the newly crowned Assembly majority leader-to-be, has had more than $1 million in federal tax liens filed against her and her business during the last decade, some as recently as this summer.

The liens, listed below, were filed in Nevada and Colorado, and include nearly $350,000 in liability for taxes she withheld from employee wages during the last six years. Fiore’s company, Always There Personal Care of Nevada, has had nearly $700,000 in liens filed against it during the last decade, some of which (nearly $200,000) have been released.

How are things going down there in the backwoods? I’m hoping the cold predicted overnight Thursday and into Friday/Saturday is the last of the deep cold for this winter. Right about now 35° during the day and 20° at night will be a freaking heat wave!

I was up around 3 am or so and caught the waterline to to toilet tank just as it was starting to freeze (temp then was 3F, dropped to -2 just at dawn), so stayed up until temps got to 10-11F late morning. Took a nap, woke up to 23F, currently 25.
All that deep snow is now dense white ice of death, so hauling water to the barn is excitement I would prefer to avoid, but the goat was happy to see me arrive (actually, she was happy to see liquid water arrive…)

I hear we should have highs near 50F this weekend. I have my shorts and flipflops ready to go!

Meanwhile, over on the Culture Wars front, Neil Gaiman takes on the issue of whether everything we see, hear and read should be Sanitized For Our Protection, with his collection of short stories called Trigger Warning.

Recursive alert: I’m posting this about the dangers of reading comment threads where people discuss touchy topics, on a comment thread where people discuss touchy topics.

On the one hand, “Do not read the comments” is always the wisest information you can pass on to anyone. Babies being born in the next few years will probably have “Do not read the comments” tattooed on the backs of their hands. On the other hand, it is always absolutely fascinating to see what people are thinking, to watch things growing into huge games of telephone. To watch somebody misunderstanding something and then explain the thing they’ve understood, and watch people get involved. The nature of people in groups on the Internet is always fascinating for me. You get to see people at their best and their worst.

those would be the spill cleanup jobs, that the property owners who were eminent-domained (hey, I just made up a new phrase!) would be required to pay the costs, not XL…that language was actually in the bill.

re: #52 WhatEVs

Download CCleaner and run it. That fixed my Firefox right up. Now everything, including flash, works again.

It was miserable last week.

It used to be called Crap Cleaner. They shouldn’t have bothered re-branding it. It still gets rid of crap.
