Make it as simple as possible: “I have complied with all requests to turn over emails in my possession dealing with official State Department matters. Any requests to see those emails should be addressed to the State Department. All the remaining emails are of a personal manner. If you wish to see them, you’re going to need a warrant. Good day.”

Oh go fuck yourself Bobby. Apologize? You got a lot of fucking nerve asshole when Cotton’s the one attempting to subvert the President’s FP because your fucking party can’t handle the fact he’s president. So Bobby why don’t you apologize for your party being a total bag of dicks the past six years to the president simply because your party is full of dicks who aren’t over the Civil Rights movement being a success.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) won’t join the chorus of politicians denouncing former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani (R) for saying President Barack Obama doesn’t love America.

In a statement titled “Gov. Jindal Refuses to Condemn Mayor Giuliani,” the Louisiana governor wrote, “The level of the President’s love for our country is immaterial at this juncture.”

Jindal is a big part of why they’re the stupid party. What’s fucked up and this is why the GOP leadership is worse than the base is he’s really not a stupid man. You don’t become a Rhodes Scholar by being stupid but Jindal knows how to act the fool because he knows his party would rather vote for idiots who tell them that homosexuals having the same rights as them discriminates against them and that men and apes coming from a common ancestor is terrible. Jindal’s awful. He may be one of the most pathetic members of the Republican Party knowing his background as a son of Indian Immigrants and knowing full well his party treats immigrants like his family like trash.

Well I guess my point is by saying he’s not stupid is that the guy obviously has some intelligence. I think if Jindal wanted to, he could be a smart and reasonable voice in the political discussion but he chooses to pander to the base. I remember Fiorina or Whitman seriously trying to claim that because she was governor of Alaska and remember at that time, she had been governor not even two years that somehow made her more experienced than Biden who had been in the Senate since the early 70’s even though Palin was representing a state with a smaller economy than many large metropolitian areas. They made a deal of Alaska being America’s biggest state but totally ignored the obvious which is not even a million people live there. Her issue wasn’t her on paper qualifications anyhow, it was that she was out of depth and had no knowledge on any issues.

Unlikely, everyone thinks this is the biggest thing since Watergate now, but that happens with every news story now. It’s way to early in the election cycle for this to be a big factor. That’s a great point. Really, it’s not rocket scientist. There are some things that really shouldn’t be for profit. Wingnuts accuse liberals of thinking government is always the answer but I’d say we’re the ones who have more faith in both private and public institutions. I remember when Mitt Romney held a press conference about wiping the servers used when he was Governor of Massachusetts.
That was really a good one.

Oh wait…

Just before Mitt Romney left the Massachusetts governor’s office and first ran for president, 11 of his top aides purchased their state-issued computer hard drives, and the Romney administration’s e-mails were all wiped from a server, according to interviews and records obtained by the Globe.

Romney administration officials had the remaining computers in the governor’s office replaced just before Governor Deval Patrick’s staff showed up to take power in January 2007, according to Mark Reilly, Patrick’s chief legal counsel.

The governor’s office has found no e-mails from 2002-2006 in our possession,” Reilly said in a statement. “Before the current administration took office, the computers used during that time period were replaced and the server used during that time period was taken out of service, all files were removed from it, and it was also replaced.”

Andrea Saul, a spokeswoman for the Romney campaign, said the governor’s aides did nothing wrong.

“In leaving office, the governor’s staff complied with the law and longtime executive branch practice,” she said. “Some employees exercised the option to purchase computer equipment when they left. They did so openly with personal checks.”

Here’s another one they like to use but they like to say that the poor should just rely on charity rather than public aid. I’ve got nothing against donating to charities but wingnuts of course ignore the corruption that does exist within charities. Really, I think the modern liberal is someone who realizes like a responsible adult that sometimes are better off in the public sphere, somethings in the private, and some things in both. Here’s the thing - if these were emails to someone on a .gov account, the emails would be swept up in the inboxes and be subject to federal rules on maintaining information.

If they were sent to someone outside government, they wouldn’t be subject to retention rules, unless that org has retention rules about emails too (and quite a few do because of federal requirements).

But what CCJ is proposing doing is soliciting multiple federal felonies.

The modern conservative meanwhile thinks like a hardline Communist in that he thinks only one way works.

One of the biggest problems with charity is where the money goes.

Much of the ‘charity’ does nothing to help the poor on any level. A very large percentage of the money donated goes to operating costs and management salaries. Many charities have nothing to do with helping the poor in fact.

On top of that the poor and middle class donate more to charities than the wealthy and as the article points out the wealthy generally give ‘charity’ to things they can put their name on.

If charity met society’s needs properly the social safety net would never have been created, because there would be no need to create it.

The incident was ultimately prosecuted in a U.S. federal court as four felony crimes punishable by up to 50 years in federal prison. The charges were three felonies: identity theft, wire fraud, and anticipatory obstruction of justice; and one optional as felony or misdemeanor: intentionally accessing an account without authorization. Kernell pleaded not guilty to all counts…

Kernell was sentenced on November 12, 2010, to one year plus a day in federal custody, followed by three years of supervised release.

If Hillary wins the 2016 election, it will be interesting to see whether the Right is more sexist than it is racist.

Since the GOP needs (at least some) women to vote for it in order to win, there is a reality-based limit to GOP misogyny that is not there in the case of racism.

However, the GOP presently has difficulty with reality-based considerations.

I don’t know. I think they’ve been walking hand and hand openly with misogyny for years. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a prominent Republican ever call out Rush for his disgusting slur that likens feminists to Nazis. They rely a lot on women who think they don’t need feminism or who buy the Democrats have the real war on women because they don’t believe in unrestricted gun ownership.

I remember viewing the (D) primary race in 2008 with near-total lack of interest. As far as I could tell at that time, Clinton and Obama were sufficiently similar on the issues that I couldn’t see the sense in getting worked up one way or the other. I am not a huge Hillary Clinton fan I concede. I’ve explained my reasons before and don’t really need to rehash but even I feel that some of the party’s left is being unflexiable. One can’t help but to admire Senators Warren and Sanders but those two just aren’t presidential material. They’re just not and frankly some people are better legislators than they are executives. The converse is true too fwiw. I also while i am not a huge Clinton fan wouldn’t dismiss here as being close to a Republican either. Her healthcare plan in the 90’s was well to the left of what we call otday Obamacare. I just honestly have Clinton fatigue and I have Bush too. Now if she wins the nomination, I’ll vote for her and I’ll be damn happy she’s president over any of the Republicans. You won’t see me throwing a fit and threatening to vote Green.

I wasn’t really interested but to be frank with you and everyone else, I really didn’t want to go Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. I know that’s not fair to Hillary since she is her own individual but at the same time, you’re talking to a guy who until 2008 had no memories really of anyone other than a Bush or Clinton in the WH. Ideologically, Hillary and Obama are closer together than the left of the party would have told you in 2008 but I really think it meant something to get a fresh name and face out there. I understand the points in favor of Hillary and I’d even go far to say that some of Hillary’s inter-party detractors underestimate her as a candidate but at the same time, I do understand the wariness and I know that some will disagree and I respect their opinions. I’d honestly be more happy going forward with Hillary if I knew new leadership was coming in both the Senate and House. Reid and Pelosi have both been there too long IMO. It’s time for some new people. I just think it’s hard optics wise to sell yourself as the party of the future and new ideas with your major leaders over 70 and I know that’s not fair but there is something to that.
