Texas State Representative Identifies Himself as Former Fetus

Politics • Views: 32,074

Austin may like to keep it weird, but this is definitely taking that weirdness to new levels. Rep. Jonathan Stickland (R-Dist 92) is trying to make a point in favor of pro-life/anti-abortion, by indicating that he’s a former fetus.

Texas State Representative Jonathan Stickland (R) came up with a unique way to great abortion activists when they visited the State Capitol.

On a sign outside of his office door, Stickland now identifies himself as a “FORMER FETUS” — right next to “District 92.”

Stickland wrote on Facebook that he posted the new sign “in honor” of Planned Parenthood’s visit to the Legislature.

“Today Planned Parenthood is visiting and lobbying the Capitol. In honor of their visit, I put this sign up on my office door,” he wrote. “Organizations that murder children are not welcome in my office.”

Clearly, his mental faculties haven’t fully developed, because he could also be a former sperm, former zygote, former embryo, etc.

He could also be former Star Stuff (since everything on this world was synthesized in stars across the universe):

Youtube Video

But I think that might have gotten in the way of his message since he’s catering to a specific group of people who don’t particularly care for science.

This Rep also supports TRAP laws and reducing access to health care for women across the state.

UPDATE at 3/11/15 10:15:57 am by lawhawk
UPDATE at 3/11/15 11:26:25 am by lawhawk

Should it be surprising that Stickland can’t follow legislative rules?

Now expect the typical “I’m being repressed” BS from Stickland even though he can’t be bothered to follow the rules.

Why not go a step further and point out that he’s also a former sperm that his father could have jacked out.Sorry for being crude but this is just creepy shit.

Obviously, Stickland snorted too much of the insecticide he was spraying…

In 1988, Stickland’s parents moved the family from his native Plano in Collin County to Hurst in Tarrant County, where he attended W. A. Porter Elementary School and Smithfield Middle School. He enrolled for his freshman year at Richland High School and then for two years at the newly opened Birdville High School of the Birdville Independent School District, both in North Richland Hills in Tarrant County. Stickland ended up leaving high school between his junior and senior year and obtained his G.E.D.

Stickland entered the community college, Tarrant County College, and also Parkland College, in which he studied sales and marketing.[3]

After college study, Stickland went to work in the pest-control business. He took a full-time sales position with Truly Nolen Pest Control and then as manager of residential accounts for Prime Pest Management, both in Fort Worth. He obtained a pest control state technician license and launched his own consulting business, which he still operates.

Stickland and his wife, Krissy, met in church. The Sticklands have two daughters, Andie and Carlie.[4]

Kerry, who famously protested the Vietnam War after serving in the conflict shot back: “Killing more innocent people? The City Council is next to go - anyone who was in office there before Brown was shot needs to be gone. They’re all responsible for the conditions found by the DoJ report. They’re the ones who used the racist police force to turn the population in a revolving door revenue generating system that perpetuates the racism and keeps the poor from ever advancing out of these conditions.

And when that’s done, tackle the county police, along with all the other fiefdoms that do the same thing that Ferguson did.

And not just in Missouri. There are states across the country that have the same situation - just not the spotlight shone on them the way it was in Ferguson.

Re:Warner, I expect he’ll get even more like that given that he had a real scare in his last election. I don’t dislike him like Timothy does but I understand where he’s coming from since Warner I think would rather be something for everyone than stand on principle which is something I’d expect and have seen more out of Tim Kaine. Their votes and actions on the Keystone treaty are a good example of that. Webb rubbed me the wrong way since he was a former Reagan admin undersecretary trying to straight to the Senate without having made his bones in state Democratic politics first. I remember and that primary was one of the first things I ever voted in but I really wanted to say fuck it and write in Thomas Jefferson’s name but I couldn’t write people in so I think I ultimately went with Webb over Harris Miller but I wasn’t happy with Webb. Webb as I got has done some good things on veterans affairs and criminal justice issues but he can be a bit of a doofus. I also recall one of our lizards pointing out that he’s as close to a climate change skeptic as you’ll find in the Dem party.

I’ve had a conservative tell me he was simply incapable of empathizing with homosexual couples who want to marry; couldn’t even imagine, even as a hypothetical, what it might be like to be legally barred from marrying your loved one.

I was reading one of the preliminary reports about the Oso landslide in WA last night. And also a short report about a rockfall in Utah which damaged a house (found that because a subsequent rockfall in the same town killed two people in their house about a quarter mile down the road from the house the report was on).

One of my main conclusions is that humans in general do a very poor job of identifying risk.

At least he’s honest. But that’s the problem with conservatives and conservatism. Empathy never comes into play. The rare times you’ll see conservative policy makers back things like gay marriage (hi, Senator Portman and VP Cheney) or better health care for the mentally ill (Hi, Senator Dominchi) etc is when the issue hits close to home. What separates ideology aside liberals from conservatives is liberals are willing to place themselves in other people’s shoes. That is to say, I may not be the children of undocumented immigrants myself but I empathize with their situation. Your average con OTOH goes “Tough shit, their parents shouldn’t have broken the law and they should be deported immediately.”

That’s the problem with humanity (conservatives and their type mostly). They have the absolute inability to understand, to empathize, to understand anyone other than themselves. They are all either budding sociopaths or full-blown sociopaths (not the kind that kill other people, but textbook sociopath is what I said above).

My sister is a teacher and she arranges a baby to be brought into her classroom several times a year and she discusses empathy (at an appropriate five year old level) and brings that into these children’s lives at an early age. Sometimes, that is the only time this concept is given to a lot of kids.

Add to that empathy, sympathy, understanding, compassion, and the general ability to think of the greater good of a nation and the people therein…the octafecta of the conservative psyche.

It’s not even the inability, it’s the lack of desire and I sadly have seen it here with some of the conservative posters that have posted here throughout the years I’ve been here. It can be difficult I guess not to place yourself in another person’s shoes but I really feel that is ultimately what separates us from the cons. Ideology is one thing but the ability to realize that someone in a tough spot may need a hand and doesn’t want to hear empty rhetoric about bootstraps is really a gamechanger.

Wouldn’t surprise me. That’s the weird thing about the right. They get their message of contempt for higher learning and the liberal areas from people who have benefited from that. Kind of like when Romney actually said Obama spent too much time at Harvard or when BA, MBA, and JD from public university Santorum called Obama a snob for thinking all American children should have access to post-secondary education.
