Ted Cruz Frightens 3-Year-Old Girl: ‘Your World Is on Fire!’

Insane rhetoric
Wingnuts • Views: 28,308

YouTube

Lovely. Here’s video of Ted Cruz speaking in New Hampshire, spouting crazy apocalyptic rhetoric about the coming destruction of America and shouting, “The world is on fire!” — scaring a three-year old girl who timidly asks, “The whole world is on fire?”

To which Cruz replies, “The world is on fire, yes! [laughs] Your whole world is on fire! But you know what, your mommy’s here and everyone’s here to make sure that the world you grow up in is even better!

Even better than being on fire? Hard to imagine that.

UPDATE at 3/16/15 12:33:59 pm by Charles Johnson

This is how Cruz’s crazy talk is being defended by right wing bloggers:

…the only thing distinguishing Cruz’s line from something you or your three-year-old might hear in a stock Democratic speech about climate change is the hopeful note Cruz sounds at the end. Hopenchange will come and go but melting glaciers are forever. Put away the jumprope and start thinking about boat designs, Janie.

The difference, of course, is that climate change is a very real threat, not a loony right wing fantasy about Obama destroying America.

You know, I am no fan of Ronald Reagan but if these guys want to constantly try to be the next Reagan, they’d know that Reagan did well because he appealed to their optimism not their sense of doom and gloom.

4 HappyWarrior  Mar 16, 2015 12:32:49pm

I swear though, today’s GOP politicians are less leaders but more doom and gloom preachers.

That kid was right being scared. Ted Cruz has a dream? That the world will be even better? So he’s going to go live as a hermit along with about 99.99% of his Cult? That would be great news.

6 Mattand  Mar 16, 2015 12:34:05pm

Who the fuck takes a 3 year old to a Ted Cruz rally?

Probably the same psychos who listen to Rush Limbaugh with their 5 year old grandchildren.

7 HappyWarrior  Mar 16, 2015 12:35:36pm

Is Ted ever positive about this country except when he’s using it as a means to claim that he loves it and President Obama doesn’t?

8 Justanotherhuman  Mar 16, 2015 12:36:21pm

Fucker. Starting them early to absorb the fear.

Reminds me of the So Baptists in the orphanage my sisters and I were placed after my mother died, who condemned my father by telling us he was going to hell.

We were terrified of being totally parent-less and cried for days. They were insufferable, ignorant people who also loved corporal punishment. All the kids were pretty screwed up from fear they’d never see their parents again.

As always, the answer to all the problems is “we need to bring back jobs, and growth, and opportunity” which translates roughly to “we need to let my wealthy contributors more freely exploit the labor of common wage earners and the natural resources of the nation.”

OT, the Older Boy now has a job. Sure, it’s Courtesy Clerk at Safeway, but we’re hoping it motivates him to do something better.

This weekend he pulled an 8-hr shift on Saturday ending at 10:45PM, and Sunday starting at 11:30. A little too close, IMO. He was really feeling down on Sunday morning - “I’m not sure I can do this.” So I spent all day worrying about it - could he even hold down a job at Safeway?

Picked him up yesterday evening, and he was in a great mood - he’d finally picked up his paychecks. Over $200, since he hadn’t picked up any during his first 3 weeks of work!

It’s amazing what a difference actually being paid makes.

I know right? Right down to the fact that they need to have committees to explore that they’re going to a run that they’re going to explore a run. I exaggerate a bit but if a candidate is in Iowa or New Hampshire who typically isn’t there and there isn’t a big race there, he/she is running for president.

Like I’ve said before, if the Koch brothers can keep the lid on, he doesn’t have a chance at the nomination. They think they have the money, so they call the tune. Maybe they’re right. But if it looks like another “safe” candidate like JEB!! is going to get nominated, I wouldn’t be surprised if the lid blew off the teabagger powder keg.

They’ve created this monster, but I don’t think they quite realize what they’re stuck with. And if some nutjob like Cruz does get nominated, what are they going to do with their money? Support Clinton? Ha!

The HoF is independent of the MLB, but there’s precedent for keeping Rose out. Other players that were declared permanently ineligible, like Shoeless Joe Jackson, aren’t in the HoF either.

Also, IIRC, an MLB ban automatically makes a player ineligible for the HoF unless it’s overturned, so as long as Pete Rose’s ban stays in place, he stays out of the Hall.

That’s what I am wondering. I mean Norris did have that kind of catchy ad he did for Huckabee in 2008 but it wasn’t enough to make me vote for Huckabee. Nothing would really outside of Huckabee repudiating his clerical fascist views and vowing to do anything possible to reverse their influence in politics and even then.

Lee Marvin was actually quite the liberal I’ve read. Gave an interview to Playboy in the late 60’s where he expressed support for gay rights. See honestly guys like that are why I can’t just look at older wingnuts and say “Well he’s a product of his generation” because Lee Marvin who would be over 90 years old today gave more progressive sentiments on LGBT gay people than Ted Cruz who was born after that interview has today. Finally saw the Dirty Dozen some months back, Great Escape is still my favorite WWII movie from that era but I enjoyed that one.

But yeah it was more funny watching wingnuts try to claim that Eastwood’s speech helped Romney when in reality I think it just confused the Americans who saw it. Close to the end of his life one of the local stations had Stanley Kramer introducing a “Classic Movies” show every week. He’d start off talking about the movie, then begin wandering all over the place—really it was Rosanne Rosannadanna territory—and then he’d suddenly collect himself and say: “At any rate…blah, blah, blah, here’s the movie:”

It was pretty sad. Eastwood could be in the same situation.

Capitol Police detained GotNews editor-in-chief Charles C. Johnson at a fundraiser for House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) in Bakersfield, Calif. over the weekend. Johnson said two policemen interrogated him in the hot sun for an hour and a half outside a country club. He said police questioned him about his political views and if he wished to harm the Speaker. He said police had oddly personal questions for his wife.

“I think a charitable explanation is that it was a mixup,” Johnson told The Mirror in a phone conversation Monday. “They threw me out. I was detained, they asked me all these questions, they asked me about my private life, my political views, when I was married, if my wife is a U.S. citizen. They asked my wife a bunch of questions.”

That must have been fun for her. It seems like she’s usually pretty insulated from his shit, this was an opportunity for her to get a rare wake up call and catch a glimpse of just how much of a pariah she’s married to.

He explained, “One of the Capitol Hill officers said that one of the staffers said I was belligerent and I said that they should check that because it’s a lie. They turned back and interviewed [the staffer] and the staffer recanted.”

Johnson admitted he didn’t know for sure if that is what happened with the aide, but that was his impression. “I don’t know if this actually happened-only that the Capitol Hill police asked about it,” he wrote.

So Chuck actually has no evidence whatsoever that the staffer recanted.

Police asked if he’d ever approached a member of Congress. “I said no, thinking that they meant like, walked up to and talked to them on the street,” he said. “I have gone to members of Congress’s homes before, both invited and uninvited.”

Johnson explained, “The ‘uninvited’ question brought us to the Sen. Cochran affair. I said there was some real questions as to whether or not he lived in that house in D.C. and that I had gone there.”

Mississippi burning, Johnson chased away by goons

They then asked him about Mississippi. “I said that I had investigated a voter fraud incident in Mississippi involving Senator Thad Cochran and the Barbours buying black votes to defeat Tea party challenger Chris McDaniel,” he said. “I said that I had been present in Mississippi and had witnessed some of the corruption and been chased out of the state by two goons.”

Johnson said police told him that going to a senator’s home is illegal. “I said that it was not and that I had filmed the entire episode on camera with a friend and that we spent a total of ten minutes at the home,” he said. “They said it was in a legal gray zone. I said that it was not, especially as I was reporting on the incident. They said it was illegal if I was harassing them. I said, well, there’s no evidence that I harassed anyone and he [the officer] said that it was inappropriate to visit the home.”

Alluding to Cochran’s marital situation, Johnson told police that “it was inappropriate to live with a mistress and staffer and that I had no intentions of going to members of Congress’s homes. We agreed to disagree.”

It’s no wonder why the Capitol Police considered him a threat. Showing up at people’s homes uninvited is creepy as all hell. Something Chuck would intuitively understand someone did it to him. Total empathy deficit and frontal lobe disinhibition.

But, you know, he’s kind of sort of right about the world being on fire. In an irony he cannot appreciate. The world is warmer than would be optimal for us, and it’s getting warmer still. One consequence is we get more forest fires. In Greece, it’s been so bad it’s damaged the economy, and Greece teeters on the edge of leaving the eurozone.

So no, the world is not burning. Not exactly. But more of it is, and that’s not a good thing.

It’s not St. Patrick’s Day without the Dropkick Murphys:

The Big Guy was surprised when the WKRP concert headliners physically attacked the audience. He didn’t know about the Dropkick Murphys and the neo-Nazi who walked on, but not off, stage.

ROFL. That’s not going to happen. Ot at least it shouldn’t.

He bet on his own team when he was managing them, meaning he could directly affect the outcome. Yeah, his stats as a player are legendary, but come on. There has to be at least a tiny sliver of integrity left somewhere in the MLB.

Never has been, never will be. Why pretend in this case?

He was more honorable than most - he always bet they’d win.

Without the Pogues, there’d have been no Dropkick Murphys.

New Jersey Senate rejects $225M Exxon Mobil settlement

I’m sure Lawhawk got around to this already, but Jesus Christ, what a bullshit move by Christie.

1) It’s a short term cash grab to plug a hole in the overall budget, so he can run for POTUS while claiming to have fixed the budget.

2) Letting a major oil company off the hook for fucking up the environment? Thats Conservatism 101, kids! Can’t piss off any potential donors!

3) This is the same guy who wants to run an oil pipeline through the Pine Barrens. With this kind of leadership, if that were built and caused a major spill, Christie would apologize to the oil company for the forest being there in the first place.

Your moderate Republican party, gang…

Traditional Irish Music - Brogan’s Bar - Ennis, Ireland

This reminds me of NC mountain music and it should, considering the Celtic roots of many who settled there.

Irish Pub—

Plasma screens & neon lights,
Kara-farkin-oke nights,
The bouncers they can pick the fights,
We’ll call it an Irish pub,
Plastic cups, a polished floor,
We’ll hose the blood right out the door,
And let the knucklers back for more,
We got us an Irish pub,

Whale, oil, beef, hooked! I swear upon the holy book,
The only ‘craic’ you’ll get is a slap in the ear,
Whale, oil, beef, hooked! I’ll up & burst yer filthy mug,
If you draw one more shamrock in me beer!
