Right Wing Bloggers Desperate to Blame Germanwings Crash on Muslims

Crazed
Wingnuts • Views: 39,655

By now everyone’s heard about the reports that a French prosecutor has alleged that copilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed a Germanwings A320 into an alpine mountain late Tuesday. Key word, of course, being “alleged,” because nothing has been determined for certain yet.

But that doesn’t stop the Stupidest Man on the Internet, the inestimable Jim Hoft, from screaming: PHOTO—- the Copilot Who Murdered 149 People on a Germanwings Airbus A320 | the Gateway Pundit.

DERPPhotos were released today of the copilot who murdered 149 people on a Germanwings Airbus A320.

The copilot would not let the pilot back into the cockpit after he left to use the restroom.

28-year-old German Andreas Lubitz trained in the [sic] Phoenix, Arizona and is pictured here in San Francisco.

Somehow Hoft managed to refrain from automatically blaming the crash on Muslims, as he normally would — probably because he knew his knuckle-dragging readers would do it for him. And they responded like Pavlov’s dogs:

News of recent conversion to Islam in 3…2…

[…]

the PC crowd will never ‘reveal’ his true ‘ties’

[…]

another pilot “…trained in the US.” —
but- this was not a terrorist- attack -
NO-
islam is a religion of peace-
Right

[…]

Andreas Lubitz, peace be upon him, is no more Islamic than the Sharpton is hustling.

[…]

“Not known” just means he was smarter than the stupid (liberal) people running Germany.

[…]

Time that we start testing every pilot before every flight. Hand them a bacon sandwiche and throw any that don’t eat it off the dam plane.

[…]

Showing pix of him at San Francisco proves his communist leanings.

[…]

This tragedy should be blamed on muslims anyway ! : without 9/11, and other arab/muslim “air terrorism” (highjacking etc), the cockpit door would have been normal (not reinforced etc) and it could have been opened by the locked out pilot/crew who then could have retaken control of the plane.

[…]

[…]

Was he a Muzzie who changed his name or had converted recently?

[…]

Photographed at a sodomite mecca.

[…]

Could this be the new ingenious tactic the terrorists are using to down planes?

This crazed response isn’t unique to Jim Hoft’s hate site; if you look at comments on any right wing blog or media site today you’ll find similar Islamophobic rants. For example, from the story at Breitbart “News:”

Accommodations to Islamic pilots could allow them room for a prayer rug in the cockpit and allowing them to navigate towards Mecca for Prayer Time before readjusting heading for final destination.

[…]

No Qu’rans allowed signs posted

[…]

yelling Allah Akbar while downing a plane is so yesterday..

[…]

The ACCELERATING demographics in Europe show that the ‘NO-GO’ areas of ISLAMIC CULTURE are GROWING and, as they MERGE, there will be FEWER and FEWER places to LAND.

[…]

Does O-hole allow Muslims to pilot AF One?

It would be interesting to know, how many times AF One has been flown by a Muslim?

[…]

I think andreas last thoughts went to Allah

At Breitbart there are thousands of comments like this. There’s a deep, deep sickness running amok in the right wing base.

In 1913 these conservatives would have been wailing about how Jews murder Christian babies and consume their blood.

It’s like I noted downstairs, they were all sure that the nutter who went wild with a machete in an airport was a Muslim…until he turned out to be an old white Jehovah’s Witness, at which point the story vanished from their radar.

3 Nyet  Mar 26, 2015 11:28:16am

You might want to add various tweets alleging he was a Muslim, because they found some completely unrelated namesake on facebook with anti-Muslim, pro-NPD messages. Chucky retweeted one, even.

I have zero doubt about that and as I told you the present conservative bigotry against Muslims is what inspired me to do my research paper on Anti-Semitism in Russia during that era.

You bet “There’s a deep, deep sickness running amok in the right wing base.”

It was reported by MSNBC that a friend of Lubitz’s said he had taken a 6 mos leave of absence from Lufthansa recently because of “burn out” (even though he had only 600+ hours of flying at the time of the crash). It could be that if it was a deliberate act that he may have suffered some kind of psychotic episode, a breakdown. He had returned to work passing a physical, flying test, etc. but had not undergone psychological testing which they said was a requirement for being first hired, but not done after.

This is the most disgusting thing I’ve seen so far about this: speculation that the copilot was an ‘omega male’ suffering from ‘omega rage’:
alphagameplan.blogspot.co.uk

I haven’t even looked at the comments yet, this is from the blog itself: (emphasis mine)

Now, obviously no one else was responsible for Lubritch’s actions if it indeed was Omega rage at work. He alone bears the blame. But it is somewhat haunting to think about how many lives might be saved each year if the sluts of the world were just a little less picky and a little more equitable in their distribution of blowjobs.

I see, it’s wimmens fault. Apparently we’re all ‘sluts’ but also need to be ‘less picky’. And they claim irrationality and illogic are ‘female’ traits!

So there you have it folks. A blowjob could have stopped it all!

My comment on that turd of a post by ‘Vox Day’ from the previous thread:

re: #494 Dark_Falcon

My first thought was to wonder again why ‘Vox Day’ hasn’t joined ISIS, since his screed basically boils down to The solution to disaffected and depressed men is to enslave women”. How anyone can reach that conclusion after the events of the past 14.5 years I cannot fathom.

The upside that I see is that women being able to be chosey in their mating habits might help cut down on the number of nutbars like Vox Day in the world.

16 iceweasel  Mar 26, 2015 11:34:42am
As a 28 year-old airline pilot, Lubritch would likely have been married in a more traditionally structured society. It’s not impossible that the Germanwings deaths represent more of the indirect costs of feminism.

Moreover, TB/VD’s piece FAIL’s on its own ‘logic’: The guy was an airline pilot with no children, so he had money and he flew to places where prostitution is legal. So if he needed access to a ‘slut’, he already had that.

I know that TB/VD’s argument is intrinsically a turd, but I just wanted to point out that even if it wasn’t he still FAILs.

I think pulling a Romney really needs to be added into the political lexicon.
Romney (v). To take a position one day in front of one audience only to take the contradictory position in front of another. Ex: Scott pulled a Romney when telling the nativists that he opposed amnesty but told the Chamber of Commerce people that he favored a path to citizenship.

And his caving to the anti-gay bigots who made him fire Grennell. They use two recorders for a number of good reasons. Among them is that the things have to be very robustly built and having two recorders reduces the chance that all of the data would be lost in a catastrophic crash.

Way back in the past I worked for a company that made flight data recorders for NASA and the military. Once a year they would pull two of them off of the line at random, load test data and then throw them out of an aircraft flying over China Lake, CA, at a specified speed and altitude. The data on them had to be recoverable when they dug the things out of the dry lake bed.

I think the initial point was that with data storage being so small and inexpensive why not have all the data stored on each recorder for even better redundancy. That way if one recorder is vaporized and the other isn’t you still have a full set of data.

Germanwings plane crash: Who were the victims?

There were victims from 18 countries on board, although most were Spanish or German. […]

• An Australian mother & son
• Sixteen schoolchildren
• Three generations of one Spanish family
• A woman and her seven-month old son
• A young man from the UK
• A husband and father of four from the UK
• Two opera singers
• A newlywed couple
• Two Iranian reporters
• Three U.S. citizens
• Two Colombians
• An Argentine couple
• An Israeli
• A man from Belgium
• Three Mexican citizens
• Two Japanese

Not true, Obama’s a liberal. Liberals were largely gone from the GOP by 1995, though Newt let a couple in the House stay on with leadership support, because they helped him keep control of the chamber.

The President is a centrist. A stimulus package is what any sane President would do to react to an economic crisis as bad as the Great Recession, and Obamacare is directly modeled on Romneycare which was based on proposals by the Heritage Foundation and endorsed by Newt Gingrich.

178 lawhawk  Mar 26, 2015 12:48:23pm

Let’s see, if we go by presidencies (and this is off top of head):

Obama, fewer dead (American or Iraqi) than predecessor. Not forcing Israel to engage Palestinians in peace talks; talks ongoing on Iranian nuclear program. Drone strikes. AQIP, ISIL, al Shabaab active across region. Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. Arab Spring: old guard authoritarian regimes tested and overthrown from Tunisia to Egypt and repression thwarts efforts in Iran, Gulf States.

Bush:
hundreds of thousands killed in Iraq, 4000+ Americans killed in Iraq. AQ active across region, began limited drone strikes as tech still evolving. Iranian nuclear program proceeded despite attempts at sanctions (sanctions continue to this day). Lebanon becomes mess (including Hizbullah war against Israel in 2006). Operation Cast Lead. Palestinian elections result in Hamas taking parliament, civil war with Fatah. Gaza disengagement. 9/11. Israel takes out Syrian nuclear facility in 2007.

Clinton:
Iraq no fly zone, sanctions, Saddam continues war crimes against political opponents. Peace deal signed between Jordan and Israel; Oslo Accords, Wye Agreement between Israel and PA; intifada.

Bush:
First Gulf War. Saddam’s repression/war crimes against Shi’ites / Marsh Arabs. No fly zone established. Madrid Conference. Attempt at forcing peace between Israel and Palestinians. Saddam’s Anfal Campaign. Failure to stop Saddam’s campaign against Marsh Arabs.

Reagan:
Marine Barracks bombing. Lebanon Civil War. Operation Grapes of Wrath. Israeli occupation of Southern Lebanon. Hizbullah and Islamic Jihad rise; Hamas. Iran/Contra. Hostages. Iran-Iraq war (at least 250,000 killed, though it was likely closer to 1 million killed on both sides). US shot down Iranian airline over Persian Gulf (USS Vincennes). Operation Earnest Will. Osirak Reactor bombing.

Yeah, lots of death and destruction. And that is just a tip of a very large iceberg.

More than counter Jihad or anti Muslim. They’re xenophobes and Islamophobes.

They see a Muslim bogeyman behind every event, no matter how improbable. Plane crash? Muslim did it. Even when the people involved aren’t Muslim (let’s just project and say that they were on spurious and bogus info).

Bombing? Yeah, a Muslim did it. Except when it turns out to be an honest to goodness false flag op by some older white guy who wants to see US go to war against Muslims.

These are the kind of folks that are 100% convinced a Muslim somewhere in this vast world of ours is to blame for their intestinal difficulties after they eat a bad burrito. They’re basically sick in the head - they have a monomaniacal delusion that Muslims are out to get them.

I think the Hulk might have a few things to say about that. Haha.

I got an email from the Hulk this morning.

Dear Jeff,

Five years ago, millions of barrels of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico during the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The Gulf still hasn’t fully recovered from the spill, yet now the Department of the Interior is proposing to open even more of our coastal waters to offshore drilling. This shortsighted and irresponsible policy would put our coastal ecosystems and communities at even greater risk.

Earthjustice is partnering with groups across the country to demand action now to keep more drill rigs out of the Atlantic and Arctic oceans. And we need your help.

Join me in telling the Obama administration to stop new leasing in the Atlantic and the Arctic oceans.

New offshore drilling and leasing in those areas would open fragile and priceless coastal ecosystems to damage from pollution and spills, pose immeasurable risk to economies and communities up and down the Atlantic seaboard, and accelerate global climate disruption.

An oil spill in any body of water causes irreparable damage. It’s just not worth it. If we’re going to successfully turn the tide on climate change, we must move away from all fossil fuels—whether it’s fracking, tar sands, mountaintop removal, or offshore drilling—and focus our efforts on increasing renewable energy.

Now is the time to tell the Department of the Interior that drill rigs have no place in the Atlantic and Arctic oceans.

Sincerely,

BERLIN (AFP) -
Investigators carried out searches Thursday at two homes of the German co-pilot who officials say appears to have deliberately crashed a plane into the French Alps, a German prosecutor said.

“Both the home of the co-pilot in Duesseldorf and the home in Montabaur have been searched,” said chief public prosecutor Ralf Herrenbrueck in the western city of Duesseldorf.

“Andreas Lubitz, the 28-year-old co-pilot who French authorities believe deliberately brought down a Germanwings jet Tuesday, lived with his parents in the western town of Montabaur, while also keeping a flat in Duesseldorf, Montabaur mayor Gabriele Wieland told DPA news agency.” More

NY Times reporting: Explosion and Fire in the East Village

Fire officials said a blast occurred on Second Avenue on Thursday afternoon; calls began streaming in at 3:17. Firefighters were on the scene of an apparent explosion on Thursday afternoon in the East Village, and a [five-story] building at the site appeared to have been partially destroyed while another building was engulfed in flames.

The authorities were closing down the surrounding streets, concerned about the building collapsing further and sending debris flying.

Officials said that they could not say yet if anyone was in the building when it collapsed or if anyone was in the neighboring building that was in flames.

So would any sane person.

It’s a 5 1/2 hour road trip each way to and from my mom’s house. Fuck anyone who thinks that I’mma take a road trip from Texas to Moscow or London. No. Just….no.

If I have to go that far, I’m flying. Preferably first class because leg room is a thing, and because my chances of not throttling an asshole passenger are that much lower if I’m comfortable.

Apparently there was a stop work order on one of the affected buildings; Con Ed has shut off gas to the area; multiple casualties reported.

This is reminiscent of a building explosion just over a year ago up in Harlem. Killed a bunch of people. Turned out it was a gas explosion, though not sure who was at fault (the building or ConEd).

I’ve been by that site a bunch of times in recent weeks, and they’re setting up a memorial for the victims of that incident.

it would really benefit the national dialog if any of us had any idea or explanation, much less agreement, on the meaning of the word “liberal”

i invite D_F or anybody else to submit their definitions

“conservative” could benefit from this exercise as well.

for myself, i claim no real knowledge on the meaning of either term, so i don’t use them, except in quotes to signify my lack of acceptance of them as really meaningful

To my way of thinking, the essence of conservatism is attachment to the status quo.

Those right-wing whackjobs who want to privatize Medicare and Social Security aren’t conservative — such a big change in such basic programs, that have been in place for generations and people have spent their whole lives counting on them… that’s not conservative. It’s just right-wing revanchism. (opposing same-sex marriage is legitimately conservative)

Part of the problem is that people (especially swing voters and ‘both-siders’) don’t believe that this kind of fact can be established in politics at all (much less that a diagnosis of madness applies specifically to the GOP).

I agree at heart with a lot of conservative principles, like individual initiative, self-reliance and free markets.

but I see the free market as a mechanism, not an ideology. and I do not think that individuals and families with limited incomes and resources can be expected to negotiate on equal terms with multi-billion-dollar international corporations for terms of employment, health care or financial services.

and I believe that a free market needs a strong infrastructure to function to the benefit of all of society. and not just a physical infrastructure of roads and communication, but also a legal and regulatory infrastructure.

and we cannot leave that infrastructure in the hands of the producers alone if we want the market to function to everyone’s benefit.

those are the points where modern “conservatism” lost me ages ago, not counting the social and religious issues they champion.

The Pope is visiting New York.

A limo driver meets him at the airport. After getting all of Pope John Paul’s luggage loaded into the limo (and he doesn’t travel light), the driver notices that the Pope is still standing on the curb.

“Excuse me, Your Holiness,” says the driver. “Would you please take your seat so we can leave?”

“Well, to tell you the truth,” says the Pope, “they never let me drive at the Vatican, and I’d really like to drive today.”

“I’m sorry but I cannot let you do that. I’d lose my job! And what if something should happen?” protests the driver.

“There might be something extra in it for you,” says the Pope.

Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Supreme Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 105 mph.

“Please slow down, Your Holiness!!!” pleads the worried driver. But the Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens.

“Oh, dear God, I’m gonna lose my license,” moans the driver, wishing he’d never gone
to work that morning. The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches. But the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle and gets on the radio.

“I need to talk to the Chief,” he says to the dispatcher. The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he’s stopped a limo going a hundred and five on a city street.

“So bust him,” says the Chief.

“I don’t think we want to do that, he’s really important,” says the cop.

The Chief exclaims, “All the more reason!”

“No, I mean really important,” the cop says. The Chief then asks, “Who ya got there - the Mayor?”

Cop: “Bigger.”

Chief: “Governor?”

Cop: “Bigger.”

“Well,” says the Chief, “who is it?”

Cop: “I think it’s God!”

Chief: “What makes you think it’s God?”

Cop: “He’s got the Pope for a limo driver

My dad’s kind of car. Mine too if I ever own a car. I don’t have a need for speed.

Some times flat out acceleration can get you out of a bad situation. I am only talking about a momentary need…if the car is regulated to the road speed, you may just be screwed. Also, speed is required to actually pass. I think this would make the roads more dangerous actually, as drivers will be all stuck up each others taillights and then temperatures will rise and bad things will happen.

“That scandal prompted the Inspector General’s Office to take a broader look at how the Justice Department’s four law enforcement agencies — the DEA, Secret Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Explosives and FBI and Marshals Service — handle allegations of sexual misconduct. The review covered October 2008 to September 2012, according to the report. In addition to the sex parties, the office found evidence of other in appropriate behavior, some involving prostitutes, others involving relationships between superiors and subordinates and unwanted, sometimes lurid, advances from colleagues. Some of these cases weren’t properly investigated or were not run up the chain of command, the report said.”

The law may have changed since I was being taught such things, but they had to tell us than one part of the drivers’ ed film they showed us was wrong. It had the guy passing someone never going over the speed limit and making note of that fact.

We were told that Washington is the only state that (you can start so many sentences that way) you’re actually required to go over the speed limit while passing. The law only said you were to spend “as little time as possible” in the wrong lane.

I think the initial point was that with data storage being so small and inexpensive why not have all the data stored on each recorder for even better redundancy. That way if one recorder is vaporized and the other isn’t you still have a full set of data.

That was indeed my point. If both sets of data were stored on both recorders, we’d know a lot more than we do now about what happened.

Anyone know how much data is actually stored on a typical flight data recorder? I’m guessing in the megabytes at most.

OT Drive-by - For those of you with an interest in DNA/genetics, here’s a very geeky article that I don’t really understand:

Large-scale whole-genome sequencing of the Icelandic population (PDF)

Here’s the BBC article that led me to the one above. Thankfully, it’s much easier to digest:

DNA of ‘an entire nation’ assessed

The genetic code of “an entire nation” has effectively been deduced, say researchers in Iceland.

The feat was performed by combining DNA data with family trees.

The team say they could now find every woman at high-risk of breast cancer “at the touch of a button” and it would be “criminal” not to use the information.

The reports, published in the journal Nature Genetics, used the data to make a suite of discoveries including the age of the last common ancestor of men.

DNA is passed from one generation to the next. If you knew everything about the DNA of a child and their grandparents, you could figure out a lot about about the DNA of the parents too.

The deCODE genetics team has taken the whole genome sequence of 10,000 people and combined it with nation-wide family trees. […]

As I recall, the cause of the East Harlem was found to be extremely outdated and crumbling natural gas lines under the building.

re: #359 CuriousLurker

Full sequencing of the 3 billion base pairs in a person’s chromosomes is still a bit expensive (over $1000/person) so it is still somewhat rare.

In Iceland the commie gubmint decided it would be neat to see if they could move medicine along by combining many genome sequenced individuals with the very well documented Scandinavian family trees.

They did several thousand people.

Given the small set of Scandinavian founders in Iceland everyone ends up not being too distant cousins of each other.

By comparing then the sequences of cousins and comparing the results against familial medical conditions one can figure out which alleles of certain genes, or perhaps the absence of entire genes, or other anomalies, can lead to which medical conditions.

As an added benefit, given very long family trees, they’ve been able to compare Y chromosomes of known male cousins and figure out (again, this is not new just better data) mutation rates along the Y chromosome, which is useful for anthropology.

“Matthew 24 Now is our band that has been in the works for many years!” reads a Facebook page apparently set up by the band in June 2013 but not updated since last December.

“We are also known as Busking in The Son; as we have been busking on the streets of Boise Idaho for the last 3 years,” the page read, listing the band members as Peter Green (Gaver), and sons Jeremiah and Nathan.”

And also might have figured out who was messing around while the UK and US had troops on the island during WW2.

Scott Walker spokeswoman disputes report on immigration shift, says his position hasn’t changed

According to Epstein’s report, Walker told New Hampshire Republicans at a private dinner that he would support allowing undocumented immigrants to remain in the United States and eventually become eligible for citizenship.

The article cites “three people present” at the dinner as confirmation of the governor’s remarks.

“We strongly dispute this account. Gov. Walker has been very clear that he does not support amnesty and believes that border security must be established and the rule of law must be followed. His position has not changed, he does not support citizenship for illegal immigrants, and this story line is false,” Walker spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said in a statement.

It’s very simple. Conservatives hate equality and love power. The way the US was founded takes a hereditary aristocracy/monarchy off the table as a goal, so the US right has fixated on an aristocracy of wealth instead.

AT&T is sending people around to try to drum up business for their packages of TV, internet, phone.

One young guy came by last evening, and I felt rather sorry for him—he was dropped off to walk the neighborhood, and the houses here are not close together at all, some 1/4 of a mile apart or more (except for this little enclave). Certainly isn’t what you perceive as a “neighborhood”. We had a nice chat out on the patio and I noticed his water bottle in his back pocket was empty and gave him another. He said AT&T was paying for a motel for the crew, meals, etc, but they didn’t give him a car and this is a rural area.

He told me he’d had another woman down the road call the cops on him (he appeared to be mixed race, with beautiful blue eyes and a stranger, on foot) and he said after he explained his mission, the deputy understood and even gave him a ride to his next house. He said it scared him, the woman calling the cops, said he was from Atlanta and was just up here doing a job.

There are some real assholes in the world. Me, I wanted to mother him, but wished him well and hoped he felt better about what he was having to do. And I hope the dope that let him walk the “neighborhood” around here got an earful.
