Stupidest Man on Internet: Germanwings Copilot Was a SECRET MUSLIM

More derp from the Dim One
Wingnuts • Views: 39,236

DERPJim Hoft, Dumbest Man on the Internet, has discovered the only evidence he needs to assert that Germanwings copilot Andreas Lubitz was A SECRET MUSLIM!

Jim’s evidence: a completely insane, over the top writer for a German anti-Muslim website who goes by the pseudonym “Michael Mannheimer” (real name: Karl-Michael Merkle), who explains that Lubitz occasionally visited the city of Bremen, and there’s a mosque in Bremen, so you FILL IN THE DOTS. What more do you need? Secret Muslim convert! There’s no other way to interpret this overwhelming evidence.

The insane rant that convinced the Dumbest Man on the Internet:

According to Michael Mannheimer, a writer for German PI-News, Germany now has its own 9/11, thanks to the convert to Islam, Andreas Lubitz.

Translation from German:

All evidence indicates that the copilot of Airbus machine in his six-months break during his training as a pilot in Germanwings, converted to Islam and subsequently either by the order of “radical”, ie. devout Muslims , or received the order from the book of terror, the Quran, on his own accord decided to carry out this mass murder. As a radical mosque in Bremen is in the center of the investigation, in which the convert was staying often, it can be assumed that he - as Mohammed Atta, in the attack against New York - received his instructions directly from the immediate vicinity of the mosque.

Converts are the most important weapon of Islam. Because their resume do not suggests that they often are particularly violent Muslims. Thus Germany now has its own 9/11, but in a reduced form. And so it is clear that Islam is a terrorist organization that are in accordance with §129a of the Criminal Code to prohibit it and to investigate its followers. But nothing will happen. One can bet that the apologists (media, politics, “Islamic Scholars”) will agree to assign this an act of a “mentally unstable” man, and you can bet that now, once again the mantra of how supposedly peaceful Islam is will continue. And worse still, the attacks by the left against those who have always warned against Islam, will be angrier and merciless.

For now the German Islam supporters like never before have their backs against the wall.

Michael Mannheimer, 26.3.2015

UPDATE at 3/27/15 11:37:10 am by Charles Johnson

Meanwhile, in the real world: Torn-Up Sick Notes Show Crash Pilot Should Have Been Grounded.

(Reuters) - German authorities said on Friday they had found torn-up sick notes showing that the pilot who crashed a plane into the French Alps was suffering from an illness that should have grounded him on the day of the tragedy.

[…]

“Documents with medical contents were confiscated that point towards an existing illness and corresponding treatment by doctors,” said the prosecutors’ office in Duesseldorf, where the co-pilot lived and where the doomed flight from Barcelona was heading.

[…]

They found no suicide note or confession, “nor was there any evidence of a political or religious background to what happened”, they added.

Would it surprise anyone that Jim Hoft is at epicenter of Germanwings crash conspiracy that the copilot was a secret Muslim? Yup. There he is. And his idiocy is picked up by Andrew McCarthy and others and repeated ad nauseum. Even though it’s so thinly sourced that it’s transparent.

Posted that downstairs just as Charles posted this shiny new thread.

I worry more about Christian law being implemented here than Shariah for one very easy reason. Shariah Law doesn’t have advocates here like Christian law. There are no Muslims in politicians that advocate what the politician downstairs is. None. In fact, I’d say American Muslims as a whole are more secular minded in their approach to law than American wingnuts.

No drama here; after Reid’s announcement, speculation from those who were hoping for drama thought that there’d be a fight for Reid’s replacement at minority leader.

Looks like there’s no drama. Durbin isn’t going for the position, leaving Schumer free and clear to be Reid’s successor.

By tonight, it will be accepted as truth on the Right that this guy was a secret convert to Islam, and every debunking will be seen as proof that the Government and the Media are hiding THE TRUTH!!!!!

Time and time again, it works like this: The Right wants the facts to be a certain way. Some blogger on the Right comes up with an utterly baseless, tissue-thin bit of ‘evidence’ maybe even posts it as an ‘intriguing speculation’. That post gets picked up as a ‘report’ by other blogs. Then more mainstream blogs pick it up as “It’s been substantiated by multiple sources”, all of which are just citing the original speculative blog post. By tonight, it will be on Fox (“Hey, we’re just asking the question!”), and by bedtime your crazy uncle will have posted it on Facebook, with a demand that we deport all Muslims.

re: #66 makeitstop

The right wing is pushing the “Obama war on Israel” meme real hard. Problem is that there really isn’t anything there to it.

Yes, Obama and Netanyahu aren’t close warm personal friends. But they don’t have to be. Obama extended aid to Israel as Israel needed it (new added Iron Domes that Israel couldn’t afford to field otherwise during the last Hamas war).

Israel hasn’t been forced to start new talks with Palestinians.

Netanyahu disagrees with Obama on Iran. But Netanyahu’s been wrong on the Iranian timeframe to obtain nukes for 23 years.

About the only thing that indicates a war isn’t even that much of an issue. Negotiations over renewing an oil pact to make sure Israel gets oil supplies in case of a conflict haven’t been successful since the last deal ended in November. Never used, but it’s a 40-year old pact that has been renewed multiple times.

So, of course the inability to seal a deal somehow means Obama has gone to war against Israel.

That’s easy - THEIR freedom to do what THEY want, including limiting the freedom of others to do what THEY don’t want them to. Thus, the freedom to carry a gun anywhere, regardless of the wishes of others; the freedom to discriminate against others; the freedom to prevent people you don’t like from getting married; the freedom to never have your beliefs challenged, while forcing others to be indoctrinated in them.

“…On Friday, the ACLU settled a class action lawsuit, pending court approval, against officials in the East Texas town of Tenaha and Shelby County over the rampant practice of stopping and searching drivers, almost always Black or Latino, and often seizing their cash and other valuable property. The money seized by officers during these stops went directly into department coffers. It was highway robbery, targeting those who could least afford to challenge the officers’ abuse of power, under the guise of a so-called “drug interdiction” program and made possible by Texas’s permissive civil asset forfeiture laws.”aclu.org

“…the police here allegedly have found a way to strip motorists, many of them black, of their property without ever charging them with a crime. Instead they offer out-of-towners a grim choice: voluntarily sign over your belongings to the town, or face felony charges of money laundering or other serious crimes.

More than 140 people reluctantly accepted that deal from June 2006 to June 2008, according to court records. Among them were a black grandmother from Akron, who surrendered $4,000 in cash after Tenaha police pulled her over, and an interracial couple from Houston, who gave up more than $6,000 after police threatened to seize their children and put them into foster care, the court documents show. Neither the grandmother nor the couple were charged with any crime.”

I think the right wing is hell-bent on launching an actual, literal progrom against American Muslims. This will seem alarmist to some but keep in mind that I am close to the rwnj heartland and get to see them in action every day.
One factor that is especially frightening: In areas like Lubbock or the DFW exurbs, many local Muslims are doctors, engineers, and wealthy entrepreneurs. They own a lot of local investment property and live almost hedge to hedge with crazed Islamophobe gun fetishists. What happens when the official extortion rackets that pass for police in much of the hinterland start to think they can use “civil asset forfeiture” to seize all that nice juicy Muslim-owned property? This could happen in response to another incident like the Boston bombing, and it could happen anywhere in the country since it is RWNJ dogma that the entire Islamic faith is a terrorist monolith.
The long arm of federal law would move quickly to counter any such effort, of course, but that may not keep the ‘phobes from trying. A sizable fraction of RWNJs already believe that local sheriffs essentially have nullification powers against federal and state law and some sheriffs believe it themselves. They also have years of fantasy gun humper indoctrination and the very real example of Bundy Ranch to convince them that they can in fact defy the federal courts and law enforcement and even resist the national army. They will be crushed, of course, but with considerable bloodshed and a legacy of bitterness that will last for centuries.

This might be a little optimistic. 2026 for peak emissions and then start reductions? Better than not doing anything…

Statement by the Press Secretary on Mexico’s Climate Announcement

The U.S. welcomes the Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) submission by President Peña Nieto earlier today and applauds Mexico for being the first major emerging economy to formally submit its INDC. Mexico is setting an example for the rest of the world by submitting an INDC that is timely, clear, ambitious, and supported by robust, unconditional policy commitments. In particular, Mexico’s target to peak its emissions by 2026 and drive them down thereafter is a landmark step in the global transition to a low-carbon economy. Mexico’s submission is in keeping with the Lima Decision calling on all parties to submit their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions well in advance of COP21 in Paris this December. We hope that Mexico’s actions will encourage other economies to submit INDCs that are ambitious, timely, transparent, detailed, and achievable.

We have no way of knowing what the future may bring. Some event in the coming years could turn our nation into a war machine even greater than after 9/11.

Certainly we’ve sown enough seeds to bear some bad fruit in future decades.

For now I think the concentration on teh ghey is indicative the of deeper problem of failed world views, of disconnect from reality, and so on.

Climate change will, eventually, given enough time, force migrations away from current population centers, mostly headed north (due more to desertification than daily high temps.) I would not be surprised if by the end of the century we see even more genocides than we’ve already seen.

Wrapped up into this will be the religious themes that are the fig leaves of our aggressive nature.

Nader is responsible for 10,000 American and 100,000 Iraqi deaths, but only a little.

I’m reminded of Ursula LeGuin’s “The Lathe of Heaven”, where the psychiatrist figures out how to harness the power of his client’s “effective” dreams, and tries to use it to Make The World Better. The problem is, he lacks a unifying vision, so the whole world starts falling apart.

Here, Rand lacks an actual principle beyond “I should be President”.

Nader:

facebook.com

As you ponder your potential moves regarding President Vladimir V. Putin’s annexation of Crimea (a large majority of its 2 million people are ethnic Russians), it is important to remember that whatever moral leverage you may have had in the court of world opinion has been sacrificed by the precedents set by previous American presidents who did not do what you say Mr. Putin should do - obey international law.
The need to abide by international law is your recent recurring refrain, often used in an accusatory context toward Mr. Putin’s military entry in Crimea and its subsequent annexation, following a referendum in which Crimean voters overwhelmingly endorsed rejoining Russia. True, most Ukrainians and ethnic Tatars boycotted the referendum and there were obstacles to free speech. But even the fairest of referendums, under UN auspices, would have produced majority support for Russia’s annexation.
Every day, presidential actions by you violate international law because they infringe upon national sovereignties with deadly drones, flyovers and secret forays by soldiers - to name the most obvious.
[…]
“Do as I say, not as I do,” is hard to sell to Russians who are interpreting your words of protest as disingenuous. This is especially the case because Crimea, long under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, became part of Russia over 200 years ago. In 1954, Soviet leader, Nikita Khrushchev gave Crimea to Ukraine, which was then part of the Soviet Union, out of sympathy for what Ukraine endured under the Nazi invasion and its atrocities. It mattered little then because both “socialist republics,” Ukraine and Crimea, were part of the Soviet Union. However, it is not entirely clear whether Khrushchev fully complied with the Soviet constitution when he transferred Crimea to Ukraine.

And so on, and on, and on… That’s not even an appeaser level, he’s an apologist.

I read the book when I was about 15 or thereabouts; when it got to the part where George reveals

that the “real world” had been destroyed in a nuclear war in the late 1990s and the world of The Lathe of Heaven was one he’d dreamed up as he lay dying of radiation sickness in the ruins

caused me to go back and re-read the book from the beginning in case I’d skimmed over some important clue.

Buchanan, Johnson I would say were worse. Grant isn’t as bad as the record says. I used to lean on that side but then I realized much of Grant’s presidential reputation was created by opponents of Reconstruction who would not give him credit on supporting civil rights and taking on the KKK. I wouldn’t call USG a great president but not as bad as advertised. CCJ’s pal Cal was pretty damn bad though. As bad as Hoover’s response was to the Depression, Silent Cal’s would have been worse.

Until relatively recently, US Grant’s reputation had been shaded by his detractors. While Grant had his defenders in the post-Civil War era and his memoirs actually quieted the Lost Causes down for a few years (in part because he’d wrote them while he was dying and attacking him then or shortly after he had died would have been seen as being an ass), for the most part the Lost Causers were the more determined and they simply kept YERPing until more rational people gave up and quit challenging them.

In a stunning turn in a legal saga that has lasted more than seven years, Italy’s high court has not only rejected the convictions of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito, it has annulled them and declined to order another retrial.

After 10 hours of deliberations, the ruling closes the case, and Knox and Sollecito are free without fear of charges or, in Knox’s case, extradition to Italy.

Near Knox’s home in Seattle, Nicky Woolf hears what he believes are fireworks.

And that’s that. Game over.

I know, that’s pretty much what I said, that Grant’s reputation was in the toilets since you had the Lost Causers writing the narrative on the Reconstruction era. Grant’s rep has actually gotten better due to people like my old history professor’s buddy Eric Foner.

I think Obama would want to enjoy his retirement. The only reason why Taft took that position is because Taft’s real passion was law. He was much happier in his work as Chief Justice than president. Only way I could see Obama joining the USSC is if CJ opened up and I don’t thin Roberts is going anywhere. It was a shrewd move on Bush’s part making a young judge the CJ. Roberts easily could be there another 20-30 years.

392 HappyWarrior  Mar 27, 2015 3:02:20pm

The one nice thing I will say about Dick Cheney is he showed some rare humanity in supporting SSM. Yes, I would agree that he only did it because of his daughter but there have been other GOPers like Alan Keyes that when faced with having a gay child remain as hateful as ever. Now that said, I find it awfully telling of Cheney’s character or there lack of that he involved himself with everything in the Bush administration but he had no problem at all with Bush pushing the FMA and then the GOP pushing the SSM bans.

As such, to do clinical research with marijuana, you need a license from the DEA and your study approved by the FDA, and to obtain research-grade marijuana, you have to go through the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Popular Science explains. Otherwise, since it’s federally illegal to have marijuana (even in states that have legalized marijuana), researchers working in hospitals, colleges, or other institutions that receive federal funding risk losing their funds to do this research. They are not ignoring the 2nd half of the Bible, they just follow NT Jesus’ other teachings:

Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

He who rejects me and does not receive my sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.

Some interesting background on Putin and how he was traumatized by the fall of the Berlin Wall and subsequent events, courtesy of the BBC:

Vladimir Putin’s formative German years

Anyone who wants to understand Vladimir Putin today needs to know the story of what happened to him on a dramatic night in East Germany a quarter of a century ago. […]

Putin-watchers believe events such as the uprising on Kiev’s Maidan Square, have revived bad memories - above all, of that night in Dresden in December 1989.

“Now when you have crowds in Kiev in 2004, in Moscow in 2011 or in Kiev in 2013 and 2014, I think he remembers this time in Dresden,” says Boris Reitschuster. “And all these old fears come up inside him.”
Inside him too may be a memory of how change can be shaped not only by force, or by weakness - but also by emotion. In 1989 he saw in Dresden how patriotic feeling, combined with a yearning for democracy, proved so much more powerful than communist ideology. […]
