Here’s a fun story about a bunch of very corrupt looking cops and city employees cleverly trying to appear racist to avoid being investigated for illegal shenanigans.

Voters in Parma, Missouri voted in their first African-American female mayor.

Tyrus Byrd will be sworn in as mayor on Tuesday evening, April 14 at the Parma Community Building.

According to Mayor Randall Ramsey, five out of six police officers resigned this week, effectively immediately.

Mayor Ramsey said the city’s attorney, the clerk and the waste water treatment plant supervisor also turned in resignation letters citing “safety concerns.”

“Safety concerns,” in this case however is likely a euphemism for “I don’t want to go to jail.” Either that or they’re just a bunch of racist dillholes, but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and go with dirty deeds as the likely story here. See, the old mayor had been in office for 37 years, and the fleeing personnel not only cut and ran without giving official notice, they wiped the computers on their way out.

Mayor Tyrus Byrd began her first day in office with a clean slate. Literally.

Mayor Byrd said the resignation letters cannot be found and that the computers were cleared.

The only plausible reason for fleeing law enforcement personnel to clear their work computers before fleeing their jobs on the eve of a newly elected administration is fear. Fear of what they’d been up to coming to light.

“I think it was pretty dirty the way they all quit without giving her a chance, but I don’t think they hurt the town with quitting because who needs six police for 740 people?” said Martha Miller of Parma.

As for why the police and three other city employees resigned, Mayor Tyrus Byrd is still trying to figure that out.

The resignation letter could not be found.

“They say we have six cops on the payroll. How can we have six cops and we go days without cops patrolling and we have these recent break-ins?” asked one Parma resident.

So there you have it, small town Parma had a Police Officer per Capita rate of 81 per 10K citizens. That is more than Washington DC, the most policed major city in the US and home base for most federal law enforcement agencies. What were Parma residents getting for their tax dollars, apparently a bunch of lazy cops notorious for not even going on patrol.

The new mayor should dig into this vigorously, direct the State AG to convene a Grand Jury and bring in the State and Federal investigative agencies if necessary. Whatever corruption was going on in that town had obviously become deeply entrenched over the last 37 years, reminiscent of the criminal government uncovered in Bell, California.
