So, that’s animation? So real it made me afraid for the giraffes. : )

They’re such beautiful and graceful animals.

Very cool. I liked some of the little touches in it, like the “Oh, what’s this? A camera?” as they were walking down the hall, and the way the one on the hoist would watch the diving one go down.

Following up from last night I think we can agree that “out of fucks to give” Obama is quite entertaining.

But that got me wondering. Hillary Clinton has been dragged through the political muck for much longer than Obama and I’m sure the worst of it will come next year. If she gets elected will she try to play it diplomatically or just be all out of fucks to give from the get go?

A Las Vegas man claims he started a false rumor that the injuries suffered by Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid several months ago were the result of an attack by Reid’s brother, not an exercise accident.

Larry Pfeifer, a 50-year-old former consultant in the nightclub and entertainment industry, said he fabricated the story after becoming appalled that right-wing political blogger John Hinderaker published a rumor that Reid’s injuries stemmed from an assault by a Mafia enforcer. Pfeifer said he pitched his fake story about the Reid brothers’ supposed fight to Hinderaker, author of the Power Line blog, to test whether the blogger would publish it, as well. When Hinderaker reported it and the rumor was subsequently spread by others in conservative media, Pfeifer says he began plotting to self-report it as a lie to show the lack of credibility and journalistic standards among partisan media figures.

For some people, the dragging through the muck only generates more fucks.

She’ll be all out of fucks to give from the get-go, but she’ll handle it diplomatically. Heh.

I’m watching the video of his appearance on ABC this morning and it’s the same bit: “I have no evidence, I’m just a journalist, but the pattern ‘warrants further investigation.’” Like every other Clinton “scandal,” it doesn’t matter that they can’t prove anything, the “pattern” is what matters because it “looks bad.”

He has a pattern of making claims with no evidence. While I can’t prove he does so for partisan and financial reasons, his dishonesty warrants further investigation.

I have no evidence and I’m not a journalist, but his pattern makes me think he’s a complete asshole.

The “pattern” business should sound familiar to anyone who’s followed the Right’s obsession with the Clintons for any length of time, because it’s all they have anymore. “There’s too many coincidences! They must be up to something!” Any day now, they’re gonna find the evidence they need and the whole thing will fall apart, just like Nixon!

It was a little more nuanced than that. Schieffer introduced Perkins by noting the flood of email that CBS has received from people saying Perkins and FRC don’t speak for Christians, and noted the “hate group” designation, and then let Perkins respond, such as it was.

And that gives us a fine example of why it is so hard to take these people on: nuance is lost and it is easy to twist and turn totally reasonable assertions about these people into an example of “anti-Christian persectution”

Of course, now the dudebros are jumping into the “It looks bad” chorus so as to make it seem as if their opposition to Hillary has anything to do with the supposed “scandals” and not their dislike of the woman. They’re suggesting she drop out of the race and allow others to run, arguing that even if Dems lose next year, they’ll be poised to win big in 2020. And that it’s better to lose to a Repub than drag down the entire party with “scandals.”

Despite the hypocrisy, they “get it” in a way that our own American GOP doesn’t. It almost seems like they’re trolling them.

Anyone who thinks those guys are addle-brained crazies needs to reassess their conclusion. Those guys are very clever & observant and they understand us in a way that we don’t understand them.

Well, my wingnut brother has now decided he’s a libertarian.

Seems when he started spending winters in Arizona, the wingnuttery there is too much even for him to admit he’s a Republican. So, he read a book by Jon Stossel and VOILA—he’s now a libertarian.

So Rand is his guy, except he also thinks Rubio and Walker have a lot going for them, and Christie would be a great candidate, although he thinks it will probably be Jeb. (this all came out in the course of one conversation.)

My brother just likes the libertarian label because, according to him, when one of his liberal neighbors tries to challenge his Republicanism, he says he’s a libertarian and they stop talking because they don’t know how to question him. (Facts were not in evidence, but that’s his story and he’s sticking to it.)
