At Least 2 Shot Outside Muhammad Cartoon Exhibit

48 hour rule applies here, we don’t have real details on who or why, although we all probably want to speculate.

At least two people were shot Sunday afternoon in the parking lot outside the Curtis Culwell Center, where the American Freedom Defense Initiative was hosting its inaugural Muhammad Cartoon Exhibit and $10,000 Cartoon Contest.

The cartoon exhibit featured “images of Islam’s prophet, both historic and contemporary, and speeches by leading voices of freedom and internationally renowned free speech advocates,” according to an AFDI release

UPDATE at 5/4/15 4:28:05 am by Thanos

The gunmen or their motives are not yet identified, and I’m still not going to speculate on that. What I will say is that the press is being remiss in their duty to report all of the facts.

So I will detail the history, not because I think the gunmen are somehow justified, (they are not, whatever their motive,) but rather that the public needs to be fully informed before shaping opinions.

In this country you have the right to hate, to be a bigot, and everyone else has the right to point that out.

Pam Geller, Robert Spencer, and their foreign allies have used their Free Speech rights in the US to persistently smear, hate, and defame all Muslims worldwide for over a decade. The history is long, and includes all of the standard theocratic hateful lies & libels traded in tit for tat manner by the six major branches of Abrahamic religions circling the Mid East since the time of Alexander. It also includes newly minted modern conspiracy theories cooked up by Spencer and Geller (creeping sharia anyone?)

You could write a book debunking the insane bigotry of these two and their allies, but I’m not going to - instead I will link the many pages here at this site that detail the long history of bigoted insanity and the alliance with the new Far Right movement in Europe in the hopes that real reporters will delve into this and make sure the U.S. Public at least understands the background.

I will finish by saying this: if you sling shit at a group of people long enough eventually you will find the mean, the crazed, and the extreme among them, and that’s been Geller’s plan all along. There is free speech, and there is provocative free speech designed to make you think, and then further on the edges is free speech designed to provoke, I will let you decide where in this spectrum that Geller lies.

One of the suspects, his prior terror indictment from the FBI, and his possible motives has been identified in this ABC story:

Simpson was well known to the FBI. Five years ago he was convicted for lying to federal agents about his plans to travel to Africa, but a judge ruled the government did not adequately prove he was going to join a terror group there.

Its important to note that in the history of Texas, there has been no reported incidents of people being killed for personal reasons or gunmen engaging in random shootings.

Speculate? I just watched about an hour of Fox News and they’re absolutely certain this was perpetrated by Muslims already.

Of course, I posted in the dead thread. I don’t know if there’s a rule against cross-posting but:

The thing is, it doesn’t matter who did it. It could have been ISIS operatives (shipped in by Obama, no doubt, to soften up Texas for the Jade Helm invasion) or it could have been a couple of rednecks driving by who saw the name “Mohammed” on a sign and opened fire.

If it was the latter, none of the nuts are going to believe it. The former is their narrative and they’re going to go with it.

If this turns out to be Jihadist perpetrated, I wonder if Salman Rushdie’s ‘but brigade’ will make themselves known after this shooting too. If (some) Muslims find images of Muhammad wrong then they are free not to look. They should not be able to dictate to the whole rest of the world at the barrel of a gun what can and cannot be depicted.

Imagine what would happen if a person with a microphone used the power of fear and persuasion to successfully demonize all Jews?

She is promoting an orgasm of dangerous hate without qualifications or exemptions against all muslims.

re: #35 missliberties

BTW, is she married?

Divorced, her ex husband died and there’s some creepiness involved.

Geller and Oshry were co-owners, along with Christ Tsiropoulous, of at least two car dealerships before the Gellers divorced in 2007. That was the same year Collin Thomas, one of their salesmen, was gunned down while closing their dealership, Universal Auto World, one evening.

The investigation into the murder uncovered an alleged fraud ring. According to the New York Daily News, employees enabled “underground characters,” including “known” drug dealers, to buy luxury cars using fake identities. Eleven people who worked for the dealership, including Tsiropoulous, were arrested, but Geller escaped the scandal unscathed. According to The New York Times, she received a $4 million divorce settlement, a portion of $1.8 million from the sale of the Long Island home and then a $5 million life insurance payment when Oshry died a few months after remarrying in 2008. The criminal case has not moved forward since the 2008 arrests.

Pointing out that Geller and her fans are stupid and reckless isn’t the same as denying free speech, including the freedom to insult Muslims and their religion. You’ve been here long enough to know that the general reaction here to Charlie Hebdo wasn’t “they deserved it” or “how dare they blaspheme the Prophet”. Nope. He wanted to travel with someone. Nope. All he managed to do, it seems, is get wasted for a few days and pollute Twitter with racist crap.

As for the ticket question, I’ve noticed quite a few people who use Twitter and FB as outlets for their internal dialogues. Most of us would just ask ourselves stuff like, “Should I wear the blue shirt or the grey shirt today?” Then there are those who feel compelled to ask those same questions online. I have a former sister-in-law who uses FB this way.

65 wheat-dogghazi-mailgate  May 4, 2015 1:19:59am

China’s government has once again gone full tilt into the patriotic/nationalistic mode. After lunch today, my students had to attend practice sessions for 红歌 (hong ge) “Red songs” — songs celebrating the Revolution of ‘49 and the Communist Party. I think the protests in Hong Kong have made Beijing nervous, and the Party is trying to whip up nationalist fervor again.

I’ve been reading The People’s Republic of Amnesia, about the 1989 student protests and the violent government crackdown in June of that year. The anniversary is just a month away, and the government gets especially antsy about this time of year. Security in Beijing is typically doubled as the anniversary approaches, and the Internet is even more tightly controlled to block outside accounts of the June 4 massacre. Probably the Red song practice sessions are part of the propaganda efforts.

I recommend the book to anyone who wants to know more about the current situation in China, in light of the 1989 Tian’anmen Square protests.

A protest on Sunday by thousands of Ethiopian-Israelis and sympathizers against police harassment and brutality turned by nightfall into a chaotic and unusually violent confrontation with the police in the center of Tel Aviv.

The demonstration began peacefully in the afternoon with protesters blocking main thoroughfares of Tel Aviv, paralyzing the heart of the city for hours as officers looked on and stopped the traffic. Later, demonstrators hurled stones, overturned a police vehicle and clashed with the police in Rabin Square. Officers responded with stun grenades and water cannons.

Anti-black racism in Israel is nothing new.

A leader of the movement to expel all non-Jewish African asylum-seekers from Israel reveals the real reason for much of the racism: opposition to inter-racial relationships

Israeli anti-immigration riots hit African neighbourhood of Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv has been hit by the most violent protests in its recent history after more than 1,000 Israelis took to the streets in the city’s south to demand the deportation of African immigrants and asylum seekers.

[…]

The protesters claim the Africans are responsible for a rise in crime, bearing signs saying “This is not Africa” and “Stop talking, start expelling”.
“Blacks out!” shouted demonstrators in the crowd, while others yelled “Send the Sudanese back to Sudan”, as other protesters derided the “bleeding-heart leftists” working to help them.

The mob set cans of rubbish on fire, smashed the windows of shops owned by Eritrean migrants and beat up Africans walking through the streets.

I am doubly embarrassed by Donald Sterling’s contemptible, racist comments that surfaced this week. Once as an Angeleno and a second time as a Jew. Indeed, the world’s most racist basketball franchise owner is one of our own. Worse, in the course of his rantings, Sterling attempts to justify his racism by invoking his people and our homeland.

“DS: It’s the world! You go to Israel, the blacks are just treated like dogs.
V: So do you have to treat them like that too?
DS: The white Jews, there’s white Jews and black Jews, do you understand?
V: And are the black Jews less than the white Jews?
DS: A hundred percent, fifty, a hundred percent.
V: And is that right?
DS: It isn’t a question - we don’t evaluate what’s right and wrong, we live in a society. We live in a culture. We have to live within that culture.”
(via Deadspin)

My initial reaction was outrage and disgust. How dare this despicable human being lie about his fellow Jews and Israeli culture to hoodwink his girlfriend into believing that it is acceptable to mistreat black people? I was outraged. After all, black Jews are obviously not treated like dogs. White Jews do not really think that black Jews are less than white Jews. Preposterous! The nerve of that man!

Then I realized that, while Sterling’s choice of words was inelegant and imprecise, he wasn’t lying. Too often, white Jews do treat black Jews poorly. We do have a bit of a race problem in our communities.

I would welcome a religious figure cartoon contest as long as it wasn’t done by David Duke-like figures.

There’s nothing wrong with making fun of Jesus, Moses, Buddha or Muhammed, even if it hurts someone’s feefees (get over it), but it’s wrong to do it to promote a hateful agenda. Indeed, it is wrong to even open a charity to promote a hateful agenda.

They were yelling “fire” in a not-so-crowded theater, but “fire” nonetheless.

Some didn’t mind giving their names to the press, so you know they’re prepared, as in being heavily armed themselves.

These people really do want a physical war of ideologies, not one of dialogue and an understanding of differences.

Well, I disagree but at what level does it have to rise for you to describe it as not being “free speech”?

To me, it’s hate speech, not just some “contest” and designed to stifle the rights of those with whom they disagree, on the basis of their hatred of them. Geller & Co are promoting a kind of sedition with their ultranationalism using and destroying the tenets of the Constitution for others, and it’s something a lot of people in this country wouldn’t know from a pregnant cow. I think they’re proto-fascists, not cryptos.

re: #94 Nyet

So you would ban the contest?

I’m not for banning anything except enemies of this country operating under the pretense of “defending” the Constitution with their proto-fascist ideology.

Since these people preach ultranationalism and are in bed with the proto-fascist types in Europe, they certainly are getting away with a lot using the guise of “free speech”.

And as long as they’re able to get away with it, and considering the “softer” kinds of fascist thought that circulate in this country, we could be in for a very bumpy ride in the future politically, even worse than what we see today.

103 Shiplord Kirel  May 4, 2015 3:45:11am

The rightwing freakout over this incident has already reached Biblical proportions and most of the drooling masses are not even awake yet.
We are likely to see storms raised, rivers shifted from their beds, and the very axis of the Earth disturbed before the day is over.

Here in the DFW area, the uproar is incredible, with people reportedly waking each other in the middle of the night to share the news. Among other things, they have already connected it with the non-existent ISIS camp in Mexico and, (of course) with Operation Jade Helm.

On the good news front, the wounded security guard is already out of the hospital and Wilders and Geller are leaving town.

No, I wouldn’t ban the contest, but I certainly think Geller & Co and their spreading of hate should be condemned roundly by anyone who actually thinks everyone has the same rights.

Geller & Co certainly don’t think others do. And yet, they’re getting a sympathetic ear and a soft landing in the press.

And we don’t even know who those shooter were yet.

105 Nyet  May 4, 2015 3:51:23am

re: #104 Justanotherhuman

No, I wouldn’t ban the contest

Yes, that’s what I assumed. And that means that you do, necessarily, think that they’re engaging in free speech (which can take the form of hate speech as well), even as you’re saying that you don’t.

If that wasn’t free speech, it would be on the level of libel, revealing of state secrets, child porn and so on, and it would have to be illegal.

As such, their speech may be harmful, hateful and so on, but it’s still free speech.

I gotta say, this whole thing smells fishy. If they were jihadis—and I guess they could have been—it seems like they would have done a lot more damage. Opening up at a distance so they just nicked one security guard outside the venue is the kind of thing Texas mouth-breathing Neanderthal gun nuts would have done. Daily Beast is claiming one of the shooters is identified as Elton Simpson, both shooters were from Pheonix, and Elton apparently has been arrested and tried for terrorism before. FBI apparently weighed in.

To be quite honest, it very much bothers me that the only witness accounts are police officers. That’s the reality I exist in today. The cop who was shot (in the ankle) was unarmed, and he was a guard. So what was with SWAT guys with plate carriers and long guns?

132 lawhawk  May 4, 2015 4:52:43am

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Saw this story in the AM news reports and am waiting to see what else comes of the report. Can’t wait to see how two gunmen turn into two hunters who had missed their targets, or that it was two sovereign citizens who thought the meeting was a Jade Helm exercise, or that there was indeed a pair of Muslim extremists who attempted to carry out an attack and failed, but not before hitting a security guard.

Meanwhile, the GOP clown car needs to fold down the rear seats, because two more just got on. Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.

Ben Carson might be a great doc, but his prescription for the nation would be a death sentence. Awful doesn’t begin to describe these two.

And frankly much of the GOP polling has found that neither is what the GOP is looking for either. They’re too fringe for even the GOP. Fiorina can’t claim business prowess when she ran HP into the ground, and she couldn’t even follow through on her worst decision because the mere mention sent Wall Street into convulsions that warned off HP to make a deal that would have overpaid for an acquisition by several times the company was worth.

That’s business experience you can’t buy (except with a golden parachute attached).

Oh, and the tag team duo of Bridget Kelly and Bill Baroni will be in federal court this morning to answer the indictment in Bridgegate. Not guilty pleas all around to be sure, but when the governor’s own investigation fingered the two of them and the federal prosecutor indicts them, the claim that they’re being set up by a liar in the form of Wildstein rings hollow.

They were in on it. And they should be prosecuted to the max, though I figure that plea deals will be forthcoming as the reality of the indictment settles in.

Ynet: Lieberman announcement: Won’t join new Netanyahu Government

Avigdor Lieberman will lead his Yisrael Beytenu party into opposition and will not join the new government, the outgoing foreign minister announced Monday, effectively ending a years-long partnership with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud.

“I am happy we chose principles and not portfolios”, Lieberman said at a faction meeting in Jerusalem. “What’s being built is not a national camp, but a government that smacks of opportunism”.

With Yisrael Beytnetnu’s departure, Netanyahu is now looking at a government of just 61 out of the 120 members of the Knesset.

What does this entail in a couple of words?

With Netanyahu having less than 48 hours to close the deals needed to ensure a government headed by him (otherwise the decision on who gets to assemble and head the next government heads back to the president, who may give the job to someone else, possible Herzog), this is quite the development.
With Lieberman out of the picture, even IF Bibi somehow succeeds in coming to an agreement with the two remaining political factions he can add (Bennet’s right wing party, which Netanyahu SERIOUSLY screwed in the last elections, and the ultra-orthodox Shas, which has conflicts with Netanyahu and the other ultra-orthodox party already in the potential new government, Yahadut Hatorah), it’ll still be the WEAKEST government in the country’s history…

re: #170 Nyet

With 61 seats being the maximum number of seats possible, Netanyahu’s got a bare minimum coalition, which means that new elections could be in the offing if Netanyahu runs into more trouble. It also indicates that Lieberman may have designs for being prime minister down the road and thinks that he’d do better in the opposition than in the government. He’s going to run as opposition in that Netanyahu isn’t extremist enough in going after Hamas, the terror threat, and Iran.

It also means that the leaders of those parties still to negotiate terms with Netanyahu’s coalition are likely to get choice assignments. That means Shas (a religious party) and Bayit Yehudi (far right).

182 Archangelus  May 4, 2015 5:57:23am

re: #173 Archangelus

Another little fact: The party headed by Lieberman, who was Netanyahu’s closest ally and BFF for pretty much 99% of their careers, was deemed until today as the Likud’s “best natural partner”… Says an awful lot IMHO.

BTW the reaction here on all sides is STAGGERING - there were hints of a fallout between the Likud and one of the potential coalition partners but everyone assumed it was the new political hero Kahlon, who in the end signed a treaty with the Likud last week..

Or link your credit card(s) to your smartphone and use Near Field Communication, and tap your iPhone with ApplePay or Android device with Google Wallet.

Lots of stores are starting to accept both forms of payment now and it really is convenient, and is just as secure as swiping a card.

I doubt that Lieberman has prime ministerial ambitions - he has no chance of that in any scenario and he’s well aware of it, and while he’s aspired for high roles and reached them, he’s surprisingly realistic when it comes to what he knows he can and can’t do (pretty much the only good thing i’ll say about him).

This is more about Netanyahu signing a deal with a couple of parties already which basically gutted most of the past two year’s legislative efforts, including efforts Lieberman’s party has made. It’s also because of agreements made with the ultra-orthodox Yahadut Hatorah which went against most of what Lieberman’s party (which is highly secular) ran on in this election and the previous ones.

Lieberman is saying that it’s a matter of principles, and that an agreement that guts nearly everything they promised their voters and everything his party fought for over several years isn’t worth it..

What he’s really saying in between the lines: “Bibi stabbed us in the back with a big blade - now we’re using it to slice off his legs..”

Well, merely drawing cartoons of Muhammad will never be “not free speech”, whether done with an evil agenda or not. [Excluding the “ticking bomb” scenarios, which are purely theoretical.]

I would actually ban explicitly racist cartoons in Europe. The US has its own free speech tradition, so I wouldn’t in the US.

When it comes to fundamentalist Islam, the last thing I have trouble with is a ban on portraying The Prophet. For that, I have an awful lot of trouble with their misogyny and homophobia.

Alan Keyes: Gay Marriage Ruling A ‘Just Cause For War’

If the United States Supreme Court presumes to impose any redefinition of marriage on the states, respectively, or the people, without addressing the issue of unalienable right it involves, with reasoning that respects God-endowed right (which is the logic by which the American people asserted, and still claim to possess and exercise, sovereign authority over themselves), the Court’s decision will be an attack on the very foundation of constitutional government, of by and for the people of the United States. It will be a high crime and misdemeanor that effectively dissolves the just bonds of government between and among the states, and among the individuals who compose the people of the United States. It will therefore be just cause for war.

Paradoxically, when I was getting a new bank account (or rather having my name put on an existing one) to send that SS payment to, they took my SS card as a second piece of ID, despite hearing for 45 years: “It’s not identification.”

Bottom line: You don’t need it for what it was for, but may need it for something else.

Aside from all that, it’s a gross lie. The poor have been constantly getting poorer for 40 years now. You have to ignore inflation to say something like that, and nobody’s that stupid.

He’s doing the usual conservative splaining but blaming poverty on unwed parents which simply gets away from a lot of problems stemming from policies that he and his party strongly support or oppose. Make it easier to afford college? Rand and his party are against that. More funding for K-12? Against. Less harsher drug laws against though Rand isn’t as bad as most Republicans on that though he’s two faced still. Rand can act like he’s a “different kind” of Republican all he wants but he’s still the same sorry piece of shit that said he would have oppose the CRA 1964 and no amount of pandering will change that.

It’s the same mindset that tells poor people to stop complaining because “I made 2 dollars or so on minimum wage in the 60’s and I’m fine.” For a bunch of people who claim to be more economically literate than the left, this is yet another example of conservative economic illiteracy.

Dunno. You’d have to have a definition of ‘poor’ that can be held steady, something like kilowatts or some unit of effective work at their command. It’s bullshit anyway, since relative deprivation is what counts.

They’re a good example of the ‘relativity’ of economic status. The first one I ever heard of, around 1956, cost a fortune and was owned by Debbie Reynolds. Now they are cheap enough for our poor to obtain one from a ‘poorer’ worker in a developing nation.

I just use the coupons I get from the store—they have a machine that spits them out from your history of shopping and they’re not all for that day, so you can save them for some things later. I really hate coupons and try to clean up on the 2-fers, for which, if you only get 1, they charge half price. And sometimes, even on the sale price, they’ll have a coupon as well. So, win-win.

310 wheat-dogghazi-mailgate  May 4, 2015 8:24:05am

Coupons are a scam. The companies using them assume that only a certain percentage of consumers bother with the things, and they can adjust the retail prices to offset any potential losses if couponers are especially active. The coupons are a way to draw people to a particular product and away from a competing (or a low cost store) brand to boost sales.

It’s a retailing gimmick, and I’m not convinced that couponing really saves people money, but my dear daughter is a great believer in them. So I just keep quiet when I go shopping with her.

DVD players? $20 at Rite Aid.

Flatscreen TV? 32” LED on sale at WalMart right now for $160.

Cellphone? Prepaid cellphones are so ubiquitous that there’s not a crime drama now that doesn’t include how a call can’t be traced because it came from a “burner” phone.

Central air? Refrigerator? Find a house that doesn’t come with those these days.

Microwave? Goodwill’s got a selection for pocket change.

The poor have this shit not because they “have it so good,” but because what used to be high value items are now being sold at what once was “fell off the back of a truck” prices. Don’t give them shit just because you haven’t priced the cost of a TV lately.

The people like Rand Paul who say the poor are so rich they can afford TV’s and such base these conclusions on what Rand Paul and other rich people buy. They don’t shop at Rite Aid and Wal Mart to buy low end wares. They get the pricey, high end stuff, so they figure everyone goes out to buy $400 DVD setups and huge LED TVs for $1,400. In other words, they’re totally disconnected from the reality of living on low wages. Remember when Bush Senior was so entranced by the laser scanner at a supermarket?

My dad eventually gave up his TV repair business in the late 1970s, because it was no longer cost effective for people to get their TVs repaired. They’d just buy a new one that was better than the old one. It got to where his only customers were little old ladies and a few businesses that kept TVs going for background noise/entertainment.

I was a lucky kid. Since my dad was in the TV fixin’ business, we had an RCA cabinet model in the 1960s, later a Magnavox or a Motorola, and then a Zenith, IIRC. Plus, my folks had a 19” in their bedroom, I had a 13” in mine, and we had another 13” in the kitchen. Being a dealer for the companies meant he got demo models.

Actually they are comparing the poor of America to the poor of 3rd world countries. So as long as the poor aren’t digging in garbage dumps for food, they aren’t poor.

And the building is owned by the school district. There was a commenter on TPM last night, who lives in the area, who said he/she had really tried to convince the school district not to rent the building out to Geller et al.

I used to when they wouldn’t even start fishing for their checkbooks until the total was rung up.

Heh. My experience in every grocery store or department store I have ever been in. Get in line and suddenly *know* that the person in front of you is going to take 10-15 minutes to buy twenty items due to the fact that they start fishing out coupons and the checkbook only after everything has been rung up.*

Only thing I dislike more is the oblivious people who block an entire store lane with their cart while taking two minutes to decide which flavor of baked beans they are going to buy.

* - And they don’t fish out the ID until asked. And then realize that they can’t buy everything there and then hem and haw over what item to have taken off the charge. I’ve gotten close a time or two to tossing a $5 to the cashier and tell them to just give the item to them.

I had an old VT-320 (DEC) monitor. Mentioned it one day to our IT network manager and he perked up and told me to bring it in.

And he should probably be happy they have TVs. Otherwise they might be out doing something he doesn’t like, like organizing.

There are 5 houses in a row. There are 5 houses in a row. Knowing how the logical puzzles usually work, I had to assume that what was meant is that one house was on the left side of another no matter how many houses between them, not that they were adjacent. Otherwise the problem boils down to drawing a 5x5 table and is not all that interesting.

From the article:

For the sake of clarity: the houses are adjacent to each other in a line and the directions are from the perspective of someone looking at the houses.

It’s looking more and more like Ohio governor John Kasich is getting ready to take a seat in the GOP Clown Bus.

Ohio.Com - With Scott Walker a 2016 GOP force, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder ponder White House runs

WASHINGTON: Wisconsin’s Scott Walker has emerged as a force in the 2016 White House contest. It’s a position two other Republican governors from the Midwest, lesser known but similarly ambitious, undoubtedly would like to be in.

Like Walker, John Kasich in Ohio and Rick Snyder in Michigan have strong resumes and political successes in states where the GOP often struggles. They offer a distinct form of pragmatic politics that differs sharply from that of their combative counterpart in Wisconsin.

Kasich has taken steps toward a presidential bid, emboldened by the absence of a clear front-runner and by warm reviews from appearances in New Hampshire and South Carolina. The 62-year-old former congressman was in Washington to sound out prospective staff and gauge establishment support soon after setting up a political organization to facilitate his national ambitions.

“I didn’t fall off a turnip truck,” Kasich said at a Capitol Hill news conference. He cited his 18 years in Congress, a subsequent decade in the private sector and his current status as a two-term governor. “I’m more experienced than anybody in the field.”

—CUT—

Just a little full of himself, but that is Johnny Kasich.

Looks like America will be getting a view of his act soon!

Aware of that. He was far from perfect, but he did establish some useful ideas in theology that led to better things:

The notion that everyone is equal before God led us to realize that everyone should be equal before the Law.

The notion that everyone should be free to read and form their own opinions about the Bible led to the notion that everyone should be educated.

Very revolutionary ideas for the times.

From the Wiki page: After leaving Congress, Kasich went to work for Fox News, hosting Heartland with John Kasich on the Fox News Channel and guest-hosting The O’Reilly Factor, filling in for Bill O’Reilly as needed. Kasich also frequently appeared as a guest host and analyst on Hannity & Colmes (the title of which was later changed to Hannity).

New Hampshire residents just love their quadrennial ass baths. Attila the Hun would get a warm reception in South Carolina if he had an R after his name.

And, as I like to remind everyone, South Carolina went for Newt last time around.

Hmm, and my newsfeed ratio on articles about the Garland shooting and the one in Menasha, WI is running about 8:1.

Speaking of Texas, guns, reserve deputies—this one has it all:

San Marcos police are investigating a road rage incident involving a Wilson County reserve deputy who fired his weapon into a tractor-trailer…

Zurita was in his own personal vehicle trying to perform a type of traffic stop after he was cut off by the tractor-trailer. He fired at the grill five times and one at the windshield. Collins ducked to avoid being hit, and struck Zurita’s vehicle as he tried to get away.

Reserve deputies—what could go wrong? (See Oklahoma, Tulsa.)

Or “ex”-MIL, if Hot Asian Wife really did kick him out…

Maybe his future-ex-MiL paid his ass to go away.

Drive by post: Geller and Spencer will try that, but the MSM might keep on the story in order to push a “scary Texas” gun-control angle.

BBT

No offense, but you sound like you’ve fallen in with the “Obama is gonna take away all our guns” paranoid militia members. You’re not really that stupid, are you?

The thing you forget is that Fox News, the WSJ, talk radio, and right wing internet sites are hugely popular profitable conservative outlets with tens of millions of followers. Which means the MSM is not monolithically left by any stretch of the imagination. So, your implication that the msm is out to get you is a paranoid teabag fantasy.

All of which runs against your little self-narrative of being the reasonable moderate Republican.

This is from the same Charles Johnson that continually posted the Danish cartoons back in 2006?

Detroit Local Powers First EV Charging Road in North America The road, about a mile from Local 58's hall, uses rubber-coated copper inductive-charging coils buried under the asphalt that transfer power to a receiver pad attached to a car's underbelly, much like how a phone can be charged wirelessly. ...
