Cyberstalker Chuck C. Johnson Suspended by Twitter for the 4th Time

Will Twitter finally make it permanent?
Terrorism • Views: 75,167

The news of the morning is that sociopathic stalker Chuck C. Johnson has finally crossed the line again, and been suspended from Twitter for the fourth time.

The reason this time: he posted what many construe as a threat to black activist DeRay McKesson:

Was it a serious threat of violence? Chuck will no doubt argue that he was only talking about writing about McKesson. But it needs to be pointed out that Chuck has built a significant following on Twitter of the worst kinds of people — neo-Nazis, white supremacists and right wing extremists of all kinds. He uses the language of violence in a very calculated way, to incite these crazy people against his targets. And Chuck’s targets are: women who report being raped or harassed, black activists and victims of police violence, and anyone who criticizes him publicly.

With me, Chuck crossed the line into real-life stalking, hunting down an address he thought was current (it wasn’t — it was an apartment where I used to live), and posting pictures on Twitter of himself standing outside the apartment building grinning malevolently. Twitter took no action against him for this, even though it’s a very clear violation of their rules.

If past experience is any guide, Johnson will be reinstated by Twitter again, because their much-vaunted new push to protect their users from cyberstalkers like Johnson seems to have no teeth.

And as I wrote this, my prediction came true; he’s already been reinstated by Twitter.

UPDATE at 5/24/15 10:56:22 am by Charles Johnson

Twitter may not have reinstated him; their system is cached and it takes time for results to propagate across their network. He’s showing as suspended in some Twitter clients, and active in others. Time will tell whether he’s gone or not.

UPDATE at 5/24/15 11:10:08 am by Charles Johnson

He’s now showing as suspended in all my Twitter clients, both mobile and desktop.

Is he tweeting on another acct?

Yeah, I just checked. Still suspended.

Not sure what you’re seeing Charles, but check again. He’s still being reported as suspended when I check in both Tweetdeck and via the web client. Just to be sure I emptied my cache, closed down and launched again and, still suspended.

Yeah, it might’ve been a caching issue. I’ve never visited his vile timeline and it shows as suspended for me. That being said, it’s only a matter of time until he’s allowed back on the Twitterwebs. You know it, I know it, we all know it.

7 teleskiguy  May 24, 2015 10:56:30am

I think people are confusing Twitter’s web client and mobile clients. I can see a few of his tweets on mobile, but once I tap ‘See More Tweets’ I get an error screen. On my desktop it’s showing his account being suspended.

It’s not your browser cache that retains it - Twitter is a massive system of servers spread across the world, and updates take time to propagate across the whole network.

I’m not counting on that, though. But it’s nice to dream. :)

We have to remember that last time Upchuck was “permanently suspended”, he blamed it on the “Ferguson mob” and compared himself to the NYT publishing Darren Wilson’s address—they weren’t “suspended”.

He called it “censorship” by Twitter. This sociopath will use every trick in the book to avoid responsibility.

I really don’t know how Dick Costolo or the other bigwigs at Twitter live with themselves. CCJ has been doing this for years, and each time (hopefully excluding this one) the little prick has been let back on.

I realize Costolo is probably purposely insulated from banhammer decisions. Still, I sometimes wonder if Costolo is aware of CCJ and is sympathetic to CCJs world view. How many times can a person post Gofundme’s for doxxing and murder-for-hire on Twitter, and just get slightly slapped on the wrist?

My honest best guess as to what did it -> When @deray complained. Chuck tagged his handle in the tweet, and because Deray could honestly claim it was a threat directed towards himself the automated reporting bot finally big footed that complaint straight to a human being for confirmation, et ouilla Chuck was suspended.

In other words, just like before none of the thousands of other complaints people made mattered one whit. Twitter only really gives a shit when the target of harassment or violence files a report themselves.

Even if Deray made the complaint himself (which I hope he did), I would imagine that thousands of others also complained on his behalf and someone has to notice when bulk complaints come in like that.

re: #20 Mattand

I can kinda see the logic behind the inaction. Like any Internet forum - including this one - taking an active hand in moderation of content implies responsibility for that content. And while on a blog of this size, Charles, Stinky, and the crew of handy-dandy moderators are capable of assuming that responsibility, I somehow doubt that Twitter wants to open themselves to liability if they miss picking up on actionable content. With all that out of the way, it’s pretty clear that the reporting mechanisms Twitter has built are either absolutely inadequate to the task, or being deliberately ignored in favor of lazy inaction. We all suspect the latter, but the only way to know for sure would be to get an insider report. What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall at an internal Twitter staff meeting.

Honestly I really doubt it. The only thing Twitter gives one shit about is their liability exposure to a lawsuit should Chuck or one of his followers take a shot at Deray. They did this because the legal department made them, nothing more.

A Catholic priest and one of his parishioners would often golf together on the weekends. The young man’s foul mouth was notorious; every time he would shank a shot or miss a putt, he would loudly exclaim, “Fuck, I missed!” The priest would admonish him gently and play would continue. One day, near the end of a particularly exasperating round, the young man watched his ball fall into a sand trap. He threw his club down the course, screaming at the top of his lungs, “FUCK, I MISSED!” The priest had had enough; turning to his charge, he rebuked him, saying, “You keep on talking like that, and the Lord will smite you down.” At the sand trap, the parishioner pitched his shot clear over the green and into the weeds on the other side. As he stomped his foot and waved his club in the air, suddenly, a bolt from the blue came down and struck the priest dead. As the young man stared in shock, a voice boomed from the heavens: “Fuck, I missed.”

Tweets like this:

Have been coming every few minutes since the article at Western Journalism was posted.

It’s the usual excuses, full of misleading statements, such as Josh Duggar got counseling.

That article has been tweeted so many times that I wonder if there is a campaign on to do so, by the readers of Western Journalism.

(Western Journalism, not to be confused with similarly named organization by Joseph Farah, is mix of religious right and glibertarianism: westernjournalism.com
It is owned by “Liftable Media Inc.”: liftable.com
It is run by Patrick Brown: slideshare.net
twitter.com
who is, I think I read somewhere, the son of a preacher.)

Anyway, point is, the misinformation in that article is continually be tweeted, but I don’t know if the accounts are bots, or just people who act like bots (I suspect the latter, given the religious indoctrination of the Duggar cult.)

The author of that Duggar excuse article is ascribed to one Steven Crowder: westernjournalism.com
whose article lists are what you’d expect from the usual right wing writer who is trying real, real, real hard to look reasonable but still writes crap.

The article originated on the LouderWithCrowder website: louderwithcrowder.com

Where we find the actual author was one Krystal Heath. It turns out on that blog site a few sane commenters are point out how far from reality Krystal Heath’s assertions are, but the sane voices are being attacked by the Freeper/CCJ type of idiots.

I guess I’m journaling this in case I ever turn it into a Page, but I think there is more to this if I were to dig. Liftable media itself is just another click-bait idea, but somehow Patrick Brown has gotten lots of people to tweet articles, especially this one.

148 Dr Lizardo  May 24, 2015 1:11:10pm

OT, but remember a few days ago where President Obama said that what we’re seeing in Syria is the result of anthropogenic climate change?

And the wingnuts derided him for it?

Yeah…….here’s the deal.

From 2006-2011, up to 60% of Syria’s land experienced, in the terms of one expert, “the worst long-term drought and most severe set of crop failures since agricultural civilizations began in the Fertile Crescent many millennia ago.” According to a special case study from last year’s Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction (GAR), of the most vulnerable Syrians dependent on agriculture, particularly in the northeast governorate of Hassakeh (but also in the south), “nearly 75 percent…suffered total crop failure.” Herders in the northeast lost around 85% of their livestock, affecting 1.3 million people.

The human and economic costs are enormous. In 2009, the UN and IFRC reported that over 800,000 Syrians had lost their entire livelihood as a result of the droughts. By 2011, the aforementioned GAR report estimated that the number of Syrians who were left extremely “food insecure” by the droughts sat at about one million. The number of people driven into extreme poverty is even worse, with a UN report from last year estimating two to three million people affected.

This has led to a massive exodus of farmers, herders and agriculturally-dependent rural families from the countryside to the cities. Last January, it was reported that crop failures (particularly the Halaby pepper) just in the farming villages around the city of Aleppo, had led “200,000 rural villagers to leave for the cities.” In October 2010, the New York Times highlighted a UN estimate that 50,000 families migrated from rural areas just that year, “on top of the hundreds of thousands of people who fled in earlier years.” In context of Syrian cities coping with influxes of Iraqi refugees since the U.S. invasion in 2003, this has placed additional strains and tensions on an already stressed and disenfranchised population.

This problem has been compounded by poor governance. The al-Assad regime has, by most accounts except their own, criminally combined mismanagement and neglect of Syria’s natural resources, which have contributed to water shortages and land desertification. Based on short-term assessments during years of relative plenty, the government has heavily subsidized water-intensive wheat and cotton farming, and encouraged inefficient irrigation techniques. In the face of both climate and human-induced water shortages, farmers have sought to increase supply by turning to the country’s groundwater resources, with Syria’s National Agricultural Policy Center reporting an increase in wells tapping aquifers from “just over 135,000 in 1999 to more than 213,000 in 2007.” This pumping “has caused groundwater levels to plummet in many parts of the country, and raised significant concerns about the water quality in remaining aquifer stocks.”

On top of this, the over-grazing of land and a rapidly growing population have compounded the land desertification process. As previously fertile lands turn to dust, farmers and herders have had no choice but to move elsewhere, starve, or demand change.

In a nutshell, a severe drought - one of the worst in recorded history - compelled rural farmers, herders and their families to move to the cities, which were already a powderkeg owing to the nature of al-Assad’s dictatorial regime, and………boom. The fuse was lit.

So President Obama was right; AGW is one of the factors behind the Syrian Civil War - along with other issues, both political and religious.

people.com

Here’s the last google cache: webcache.googleusercontent.com

However, I see the main family website is still up.

Inmotion, the hosting company, now puts up a generic Inmotion page about the site not being available.

I think this is just the beginning. The reality TV show was of a fake family. The real family has deep problems.

We read at times about “epistemic closure” but I suspect in the Duggar case we are seeing physical closure - isolation from the outside will strengthen.

Their enablers, such as their fellow church members, and the in-laws (Seewalds) will probably be the suppliers of stuff for the family.

Maybe I’ll be surprised and something good will come of this, but I will be surprised if that happens.

She is SO much better than everybody else around her, and they are jealous of her and are trying to ruin her life. And don’t let her get started on how nobody listens to her when she tries to tell them what they are doing wrong.

I may have to move, otherwise I may just lean over and say “It’s really because you’re an obnoxious, self-centered bitch with the self-awareness of a sea slug. Only special snowflakes get to be the center of the Universe, and you’re no special snowflake”.

Maybe if Jim Bob and Michelle cared about something more than just procreating and actually raising a family, and yes there is a difference, their son wouldn’t have turned out to be such a sick freak.

I don’t disagree but don’t take the “talent” part too seriously. It’s probably just TLC’s way of saying he was fired over conflict with the “star” of the show. This is what pisses me off about the Duggars though. When I first heard about this family, I really didn’t think less of them for having so many damn kids and honestly I still don’t, it’s their decision ultimately, not something I’d do or recommend but live and let live I guess but then I see how big a problem Michelle, Jim Bob, and the clan have a problem with gay people. “Jimmy” being gay had no effect whatsoever on her and her children at all and that she got him fired simply for being gay while she herself knew her son had molested their daughters shows what a hypocritical witch she is.

The excerpts don’t do the meeting justice. It’s an all out orgy of old white men trying to sound more educated than the next.

All while simultaneously trying to be more validly “white”.

I notice they love to use “the Jews” in some cases.

I am sitting near a person at Starbucks who is complaining to her companion how every bad thing that has ever happened to her in her entire life has been the result of other people conspiring against her.

Visibility was for crap (10 foot was common, best was maybe 20), but we had a good time. Tried out some gear changes / modifications and most worked like I had planned, one needs a little more adjustment before it’s what I was aiming for.

Now the gear is hanging up and drying, I’ve got a bucket of wings (wet) from Buffalo Wild Wings and a Root Beer. Gonna binge watch some OZ off of Amazon Prime and just enjoy life.

Depends. If he has a static I.P. then he could be blocked by using that. Since most people use dynamic I.P. addressing, blocking by I.P address is virtually impossible (you have to block entire ranges) thus cutting off a large group of people. A more targeted approach is to block the MAC I.D. (serial number) of the modem they are using. This method only denies access to one single device. Does Twitter (or Charles) use this method is a matter of speculation.

Well static I.P and MAC I.D are about the only two ways I can see to filter out unwanted visitors as that is what I have available to me at my level (home network) Learned this the hard way. But if you have a better way, I am all ears. BTW, home network is set up to only allow KNOWN wireless MAC I.Ds.

You’re pretty much right about that. Any authenticated website has username-level bans; most forum software packages have IP and IP range bans that can be applied in software. To do real filtering requires modifications to the server firewall, where you can apply MAC-level filtering. That’s pretty much as granular as you can get in the network stack, and it’s generally enough unless you’re dealing with a dedicated hacker type.

They also don’t seem to realize that free speech doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want with no repercussions. For instance, I could call a fellow lizard an asshole and I would be within my free speech rights to do that without worrying about the police coming to my door and arresting me but the lizard community would be free to call me an asshole back and ostracize me. So many Americans think free speech= I can say whatever the hell I want and you have no right to call me out. It’s never worked that way at all.

So sad that Todd Kincannon and the Twitter Gulag Defense Network (I still crack up when I type that) are no longer able to help him deal with this terrible, terrible tragedy.

Perhaps Michelle Malkin can step in—she’s always been a big defender of those in the gulag. Why, when conservatives were first being dragged off to their horrible fate, she said

The Left wants to wear down conservatives until they crawl away defeated, tails between their battered and bloody legs. Silencing the Right is not enough; they want conservatives to disappear from the public sphere. We hope these Twitter vigilantes aren’t holding their breath—conservatives don’t retreat, we reload.

Or who could forget that time CCJ tearfully remembered listening to Rush Limbaugh with his grandmother or the time(s) CCJ retweeted a white supremacist claiming it was healthy to have “differing opinions” heard.

I agree, but I want it to be for the “right” reasons, as it were; I don’t want him to be a martyr to anyone or for innocents to be caught in the crossfire.

The only people who will consider him a martyr are racist, misogynistic fuck heads.

Anybody else imagining little Chucky in the basement of his in-law’s house throwing a tantrum like a little baby? Fists clenched screaming about how life is so unfair?

Y’all, I’m REALLY enjoying the celebratory mood around LGF today. This is the most fun I’ve had on here in weeks.

Great job everyone!

He’s calling all those important people he knows, finding out how little clout they have.

And hitting a fuck load of voice mailboxes.

GotNews (or gotnews.com) is an investigative journalism website run by blogger, reporter and public defecator Charles C Johnson.[1]

I can only take so much of the “race realists”, even when playing their videos sped up and skipping parts.

One thing I notice is how incapable they are at dressing themselves. Not only the colors and patterns, but the shirts and jackets just don’t fit.

But they are sure to tell me that they are smarter than brown people.

Just to try and prove that I’m not on all the damned drugs, here are the tweets the fucking Bilderbergers or whatever apparently don’t want you to see. Basically typical me stuff, but they must be secretly full of fnord and nuclear launch codes and horrible truths that will drive you all irrevocably insane.

Anyway, that’s it. You’re all totally boned now and Cthulhu is probably going to swallow your soul.
