Bam: Chuck Johnson Is Now Suspended for the Sixth Time

Buh bye
Weird • Views: 38,180

I know everybody’s probably getting a little tired of hearing about the Ginger Avenger today, but for completeness’ sake I have to note that the second account Chuck Johnson registered today after his main account was permanently banned, @freechucknow, has now been suspended as well.

(And of course, earlier today he had his lawyer send a ridiculous lawsuit threat to Twitter.)

This brings the number of Johnson’s suspensions to a nice even 6, two of them today. Will he try to come back again, knowing he’s certainly on a watch list now and will get suspended again for continually violating Twitter’s terms of service? Stay tuned for the next thrilling chapter in “The Amazingly Unemployable Chuck Johnson.”

What’s the over/under on him screwing the pooch on the GNDC Twitter account?

2 makeitstop  May 25, 2015 3:29:31pm

Waiting for him to put on the next sock…after which, hopefully the other shoe will drop.

3 goddamnedfrank  May 25, 2015 3:31:13pm

Now just to get @GotNewsDotCom suspended as well. Honestly that should have happened already since the tweet that got @ChuckcJohnson suspended was an attempt to fund his targeted harassment of @deray through the Got News website.

Who has been protecting Chuck?

I have to wonder if Twitter has been slow to ban him because he is on a federal watch list and they are only now realizing that the threat is minimal to non-existent?
Internet chatter is often useful to law enforcement and the intelligence community. Obviously, neo-nazis, terrorist sympathizers, and kooks in general are aware of this kind of surveillance, to the point of paranoia. Even so, they are so stupid and so blinded by their ideology that they will often post material that is very useful to those who know how to distinguish a real threat from a free-lance doofus.
There may therefore be a certain reluctance to ban them so long as any possibility exists that useful data could be culled from their rants.

GOP lawmakers to fast track abortion ban after 20 weeks

State Republicans are looking to fast track a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, potentially bringing the proposal to a vote before the Legislature begins debate on the state budget in June.

State Senate President Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) told the WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network last week that she hopes to see a vote on the proposal, which has more than 30 co-sponsors, as soon as possible.

“As soon as we can do the logistics of sorting out committee meetings and getting those things done, we will be proceeding,” Lazich said.

It’s fun how those refinery talking points change every year or so. Back in the ’00s, gas was high because there weren’t enough refineries. Five years ago, we had so much excess refinery capacity we could take TransCanada’s oil and refine it for export. Now it’s back to we don’t have enough refinery capacity?

It’s dumb that Twitter doesn’t have a report category allowing you to label an account as belonging to a user that has had multiple other accounts suspended. The connection between Chuck and @GotNewsDotCom is ironclad, there’s no reason for Twitter to allow that account to remain up, especially since he used the GN website Paypal donate link to fundraise the stunt that got him suspended to begin with.

MrBWS: Umm…lemme meet you out front…

There are TWO uniformed troopers, TWO marked Kentucky state police cars outside.

Distrust of government mixed with intense individualism. Evacuating along with “the herd” is seen by some as the act of “sheeple” who will be simply herded by the government to the purpose that cabal [fill-in-the-blank] has designed. Staying and toughing it out is evidence of self-reliance in that world-view.

I fully expect the nut-o-sphere to light up with claims that the aid for flood victims is somehow part of the “Jade Helm Conspiracy” and that FEMA purchases of relief supplies to replenish stockpiles FEMA is going to be using is fact a plot to deplete America’s stocks of survival food.

I think we’ll only get a hard rain this evening since it looks like the worst of the storm will be north of the city. I do fear for the newly hatched baby mockingbirds in the tree next to my patio though.

Probably not a smart move for Chuck to hire the real life equivalent of Barry Zuckerkorn to draft his legal threats to Twitter.

114 lawhawk  May 25, 2015 5:00:01pm

So, since I’ve tweeted that chucky deserves banning for his lies, smears, and attacks on people that constitute harassment and a TOS violation, to say nothing of using multiple accounts to continue that very intention in circumvention of the suspensions, all those other accounts should also be suspended as per Twitter’s TOS.

And of course there are people who reply to this thinking that Deray should be banned for the same.

Except that he didn’t explicitly put money up to take out anyone. The difference is totally lost on these nuts. DARVO in full effect here.

Further thoughts on Twitter’s banning of Chuck (to expand on a comment I made yesterday).

Twitter’s first big event was the protests going on in Iran. They had been set up for people to put up information when they only had their phones, and, for the longest time, the only information coming out of Iran were tweets. That type of event was what Twitter was supposed to be designed for, not the latest grumpy cat photo.

So, as far as Twitter was concerned, going after Deray was the ultimate attack on what they believe their purpose is. To go after someone known for protesting was to go after (what the company believes is) Twitter’s core responsibility. They’ve put up with cat photos for the same reason the first amendment puts up with Playboy.

Could they have done it sooner, and been justified? Yes. On the other hand, Chuck should have seen where the line was.

Every year, the Pentagon makes new proposals for base closings around the country. Every year, local profiteers and their Congress-whores join forces to prevent these closings. This has gone on since the end of World War II. The result is that the US has more military bases dotted here and there, especially in backward areas like Texas, than anyone in the military thinks we need.

It is time to take another look at these bases, and to let the hypocritical appeals of wingnut conspiracy-shills in Congress fall on deaf ears. In particular, there is a huge National Guard training facility in Bastrop County. It is owned by the state, but all federal support for, and participation in, the use of this facility should stop as soon as decently possible.

Dyess Air Force Base, which is located in a wingnut stronghold and has been specifically targeted by wingnut conspira-liars, has long been on the Pentagon’s short list of bases it would like to get closed. It is time to make this happen.

In Non-upChuck New….

I tried something (stove top pizza) that a friend sent me a link for. I had my doubts, but gave it a shot. Here’s the recipe, as sent and tried…

1/2 cup self rising flour
1/2 cup AP flour
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp honey
2/3 cup warm water

Mix all together in a large nonstick pan… then spread dough (and it’s a wet sticky one) out evenly across the bottom. Top with favorite toppings, cover and cook on MED for 5 minutes. Uncover slightly and cook an additional 10 minutes. Enjoy.

I’ll let you think about this for a minute, make your decision on how it would turn out.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Lets just say that it was the single biggest fiasco that I’ve ever fixed. The dough stuck to the high-grade non-stick pan on the bottom, the rest was a steamed partially cooked mess. Once it cools, it’s going into the trash.

Finished off the last of the wings from yesterday along with some ‘tater salad.

re: #203 RealityBasedSteve

I’d still eat it.

What???

Yepper…. I had a very bad feeling about it before I started. The worst thing is that I could have knocked out a perfectly acceptable quick pizza dough in 15 minutes, and 20 minutes after that have a great pizza.

Oh well, live and learn

On the other hand, I made Pozole for the family (after having to go to two stores to get enchilada sauce that didn’t have ‘tomatoes’ as the primary ingredient), and Dad and the siblings loved it.

His memory is shot, and he’s not always clear on where he is, but he still appreciates a nicely cooked meal.

re: #203 RealityBasedSteve

Non stick pans are always iffy in my opinion. Awhile ago I started building a small collection of old cast iron skillets and got a 16” Griswold bail handled griddle that works as a makeshift pizza stone. I’ve used the skillets for stuff like this. One good trick is to heat up the skillet or griddle in the oven 1st, especially with cast iron because it will soak up a lot of heat but doesn’t conduct very well so will get hot spots on the stove top. Don’t mix in the skillet, mix in a bowl and then pour into a heated lightly oiled skillet when ready.

Then you might be able to finish it off on the stove top on low heat, but still best to put the skillet back in the oven.

The reason you want old cast iron is because the new stuff has a terrible pebbly finish that no amount of seasoning will make non-stick. I don’t know why the market for quality cast iron just disappeared but the stuff Lodge cranks out today just sucks.

The BRAC process was set up so that no one delegation could kill needed closures for their state’s bases. You were presented a list of bases to close, and Congress has to provide an up/down vote. It’s worked well in the past, but we need additional closures to address ongoing consolidation of base needs and how the military operates and deploys.

I agree with you on the cast iron. I’ve got several old pieces that are my favorites. I don’t think it would have helped with this particular fiasco however.

I do a split roast chicken by getting the cast iron pan just about NASA hot, then put the chicken in it, and into the oven. That way it cooks from both top and bottom at the same time.

Keeping one tab on LGF and one on Facebook, to check on the Texas connections. So far, the sisters-in-law who live northeast and northwest of Austin respectively are OK, with their families ditto. Both on slightly higher ground, fortunately. Several of the friends from Austin have commented, all wet but none flooded yet. Friends in Nacogdoches wet but okay (with one scared little kitty). Waiting to hear from the sister in Fort Worth and worrying now about the cousins in Houston & Galveston.

It was sunny here most of the day, only one short loud thunderstorm after 7 pm. For Denver lately, that’s great weather.

Now I’m being kicked off of Twitter for promising to “take out” (meaning “expose) DeRay McKesson, a paid protestor with a history of anti-white activism. (I’ve exposed the criminal backgrounds of other Ferguson protestors, including a convicted child molester and a pro-terrorist protestor. I even exposed Shaun King, a protester who has a history of stealing from victims.)

I suspect I will be reinstated because I’m a real journalist and they can’t control me. If not, you can find me here (when my website isn’t down because of an illegal DDOS attack).

If you support independent journalism, here’s your link.

If you want to join me in researching things, editor@gotnews.com.

I’m also planning a Reddit AMA at some point in the future and plan to be on a large podcast on Tuesday.

My critics are upset with me for being a better journalist than they are and because I publish the real news.

I make no apologies for being good at what I do. That is, after all, why I’m being kicked off of Twitter.

As a share holder of Twitter stock I find this all deeply ridiculous. Twitter is being used to censor journalism not promote it. This isn’t good for Twitter’s share price in the long run.

It’s like a columnist I like from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Bill McClellan. Human interest, underdog against the system, righting wrongs, isn’t afraid to go after those who abuse power. Basically one of the good guys. The PD is an employee owned paper as I understand it, and they have a part ownership share in the St. Louis Cardinals. Whenever he talks about the Cards, particularly regarding some trade or other deal, always starts with “As a part owner of the Cardinals…”. With him, it’s totally tongue firmly in his cheek. “I suppose there’s some people who think it’s ironic or whatever,” Johnson said about his desire to conceal his whereabouts when we finally spoke by phone. “I’m just trying not to make it easy on people. There’s a reason I own several guns.”

[…]

“It’d be very easy to write a ‘Fuck Charles Johnson’ piece, and in many respects, however you write the story, it doesn’t hurt me either way,” Johnson told me. “You may decide, for instance, what many people on the left and the right think—that I’m a sociopath and blah blah blah. Or, on the other hand, that I’m ‘working on some new entity that’s going to be controversial.’ There’s a degree to which, however you turn the lens, both things will be true.”

[…]

Johnson’s still pissed off about it; he told me he’d like GotNews to “curb-stomp” mainstream Republicans like former party chair Haley Barbour, with whom he’d clashed with in Mississippi.

[…]

This was not the unhinged Johnson of Twitter, who had justified doxing Jackie by noting that a friend of his had called her a “lying bitch.” He had a ready explanation for this—it’s performance art. “On Twitter, like, I have a certain kind of personality, a pugnaciousness, like an alter ego,” he said. “You know, like when Spider-Man puts on the costume, for instance, he’s no longer a mild-mannered photographer. He has an attitude. I do that because I want my content to really go viral.”

[…]

Of course, I had to ask him about the allegations. “For the record, I did not shit on the seventh floor, but I wish I did,” he told me.

Deray is a shining example of how to use something like Twitter to bring on smart, effective, intelligent conversation and change in a critical area.

In many ways, he’s the Anti-CCJ.

Exactly.

But there is something.

Chuck’s lawyer has a Twitter account: @BurnsLawFirm

And all four of his tweets are about upchuck’s Michael Brown nonsense.

I’m remembering back in high school that there was a kid in my class that had an almost identical name as mine, last name spelled differently but sounded the same. Also, it’s not a very common last name. It was apparently confusing enough for the administration staff that I was frequently sent his notices for detention, suspensions and assorted punishment for fucking up. This was really irritating because I was a good student who never got in trouble at all (except for getting a single Saturday school ding in my Senior year for skipping class.)

I’d kind of forgotten about all that until just now, and am realizing how much it must suck to have a name doppelganger like CCJ.

re: #268 Charles Johnson

I find it really irritating when journalists fall for Chuck’s “I’m really a nice guy, it’s just an act” bullshit. The evil shit is no act. What’s an act is when he bamboozles gullible journalists into believing it’s an act.

It was no act when he hunted down my address and showed up outside my old apartment. That’s not acting, it’s stalking.

Like many sociopaths, Chuck knows how to act sane in front of people he thinks can benefit him.

Even if it is “performance art” (which is garbage), it takes a certain moral, uh, flexibility to act that way. Non-sociopaths can’t flip that kind of switch.

Jeez—he really does have the perfect lawyer for him. In addition to the somewhat overly dramatic motto, “Tireless Advocacy. Uncompromising Integrity,” the phrase on the crest of his logo is

fortis cadere cedere non potest

which translates to:
The brave may fall, but cannot yield

and is the Motto of Fahnestock Family Arms and the Palmetto Guard of Charleston, South Carolina.

Not too pretentious for a personal injury lawyer.

I did notice that Hannah Giles (O’Keefe’s hooker to his pimp) is now married to Joseph Basel, one of the other geniuses who was involved in the break in at Mary Landrieu’s office—and another of the upchuck lawyer’s buddies. They’re all such charming people.

re: #316 teleskiguy

goddamnedfrank,

Any bizarre chicanery with embedded tweets today?

No. I’m allowed to tweet “@ChuckCJohnson” again and people will see it. Those three or so phantom tweets that I sent while the rule was in effect are still in my timeline though, only I can see them and only when I’m logged in. If I log out and then search my own timeline they’re invisible. It’s pretty damned weird.

My best guess is that I was subject to an unintentional glitch that temporarily flagged tweets I sent containing @ChuckCJohnson with some kind of data flag that the Twitter engineers use internally when testing the system. I was awake and looking at Tweet Deck when Chuck posted the tweet that got him banned, and I jumped on it and reported it immediately. It’s conceivable that my report somehow linked my account with his suspension and that triggered the glitch.

It has been pouring rain relentlessly for the past two+ hours. The bayou about 50 feet away is fixin to top its banks as are other bayous throughout the city. According to the teevee weather guy we have gotten 5 - 7 inches of rain and will get 2 - 4 inches more before this storm finally moves along. It seems to be stuck. Areas are flooded that have never flooded before. It is now a Level 1 emergency. A lot of people are a whole lot of fucked right now.
