Chuck Johnson’s Last Twitter Account, @GotNewsDotCom, Is Now Suspended Too

Gone for good
Weird • Views: 40,533

In the final chapter of cyberstalker Chuck C. Johnson’s ignominious downfall on Twitter, his last remaining account, @GotNewsDotCom, which he used for auto-posting links to his awful website, is now…

This brings the grand total of Chuck Johnson suspensions to seven.

Chuck really messed with the wrong guy when he posted that tweet about “taking out@DeRay McKesson. It’s a little disturbing, though, that it takes a comment like that to a celebrity to get someone like Chuck banned for good.

When Chuck Johnson stalked me in real life, hunted down the address of a former apartment where I lived years ago (he thought it was current), went there, took pictures of himself standing in front of the building and posted them on Twitter, I filed a report of harassment and revealing private information. I thought this was such an obvious case of cyberstalking that Twitter would have to take action.

But this is what I received from Twitter:

And even with Twitter’s much-vaunted new policies against harassment, Chuck has been blatantly violating the terms of service over and over for months, harassing and stalking women, rape victims and minorities, and posting horribly racist comments by the hundreds.

It’s good that Twitter takes action when someone like @DeRay is involved; but you’ll know they’re really getting serious when they take the same action to protect women with 133 followers as they do for celebrities with hundreds of thousands.

QFT.

Twitter’s anti-harassment policy works fine when you’re dealing with celebrity and those with higher profiles, but for someone who barely has followers or following, you’re going to be out of luck.

Because Twitter lives and thrives on eyeballs and deleting accounts of those who engage in TOS violations runs counter to maximizing hits. Of course, if more people simply stop using Twitter because of the ongoing and pervasive harassment, that’s an even bigger hit to Twitter’s bottom line. They’re finally catching up and acting on what should have been done long ago. And they’re finding that there are so many entrenched harassers/trolls that it’s going to be hard to root them out.

Meanwhile, Chuck’s friend “KellyLee” (@jasian12345) has changed her avatar picture again - and it’s still not really her. This time she apparently grabbed a stranger’s photo from Flickr: flickr.com

And of course Chucky’s followers try to deflect and excuse Chucky’s suspension by pointing to Deray’s actions.

We’d just have to ignore the laundry list of TOS violations by Chucky. IF Chucky’s followers want to try and get Deray suspended, that’s their choice, but that’s not an excuse for getting Chucky restored.

He deserves to be gone from Twitter. Permanently. All accounts. All socks. All of it.

He doesn’t deserve to be on the internet at all. Not with his history.

Hopefully, he won’t be able to find a host for his shitty blog, either.

Even the dumbest bird that can fly knows not to crap in it’s nest. Twitter execs take note, you can learn from nature. Clean Your Nest!

re: #6 Justanotherhuman

He deserves his access to the Internet. So that the light can be shined on the hatred he spews, condones, and encourages daily. Exposing him and his fellow travelers for who they are and what they represent.

But private companies have no obligation to help him with that - so if they find Chuck violating their TOS/rights of use, he’ll find his world of opportunities shrinking into the dark world of white supremacists and racists who will likely find his actions and behaviors to be unacceptable as well (you can imagine how a white supremacist would treat someone who didn’t marry another white; it wouldn’t be pretty).

I do find it strange that Twitter actually suspended his gotnews acct. Not that I am sad about it by any means, but there are a lot of offensive website based twitter accounts.

All I ever saw there was BREAKING NEWS headlines with a link to his site.
Did he start using it for personal commentary or did Twitter just decide to unilaterally ban all of his accounts ?

11 Justanotherhuman  May 26, 2015 10:21:21am

re: #8 lawhawk

Well of course he can access the internet; that was a poor choice of words.

But as you say, no one has to help him build his “empire of hate”. None of them should be that hard up for cash.

But I think he’s been enabled his entire life, and it won’t stop in some quarters.

re: #10 blueraven

Twitter TOS/rules of use allow Twitter to suspend/ban all accounts of the user. So if Chucky was using one that got him banned, the suspension can apply to all accounts, especially if he was establishing other accounts to circumvent the original ban.

Oh, and as for yesterday’s threatened suit by Chucky against Twitter, he’d have to show his finances to say that he was economically harmed.

Discovery would be an absolute bitch. Every one of his site sources would be scrutinized. Every last one. And he’d have to show how the value was diminished.

It was never about “breaking news” as most people understand it. It was a series of opinion pieces about “exposing” people, esp women’s identities when they had reported rape, or other vulnerable people and their personal information. This guy was no “journalist”—he was an exploiter of people of the worst kind.

re: #18 blueraven

Facebook’s TOS is actually more restrictive than Twitter:

We do our best to keep Facebook safe, but we cannot guarantee it. We need your help to keep Facebook safe, which includes the following commitments by you:
You will not post unauthorized commercial communications (such as spam) on Facebook.
You will not collect users’ content or information, or otherwise access Facebook, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our prior permission.
You will not engage in unlawful multi-level marketing, such as a pyramid scheme, on Facebook.
You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
You will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.
You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
You will not develop or operate a third-party application containing alcohol-related, dating or other mature content (including advertisements) without appropriate age-based restrictions.
You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working or appearance of Facebook, such as a denial of service attack or interference with page rendering or other Facebook functionality.
You will not facilitate or encourage any violations of this Statement or our policies.

[snip]

f you violate the letter or spirit of this Statement, or otherwise create risk or possible legal exposure for us, we can stop providing all or part of Facebook to you. We will notify you by email or at the next time you attempt to access your account. You may also delete your account or disable your application at any time. In all such cases, this Statement shall terminate, but the following provisions will still apply: 2.2, 2.4, 3-5, 9.3, and 14-18.

So, if he continues to use Facebook as a platform to harass, he can get banned from there as well.

Chucky is done…this is it, it’s completely over for him

Twitter is all he had. No one goes to his soon to be defunct “news” website…no one will ever have him appear as a talking head. All he had was twitter, which explains why he went into an absolute meltdown over this suspension.

All he really had to do was sit back and take his suspension and come back in a month or two. As a veteran interneter, I’ve seen message board meltdowns before and this is exactly what it looks like….the guy is gone for good and that’s a beautiful thing

Even if he is economically harmed, is there really anything he can do about that? Twitter is not obliged to help him spread the bile he spews, are they?

Yeah, they may have been willing to let @gotnewsdotcom slide until Upchuck decided to threaten them with a lawsuit. That probably was the last straw. I’ve been alerting Twitter to this sock puppet for a couple days.

(My most popular tweet ever)

Let’s face it, even with @deray involvement, Twitter was probably going to reinstate Upchucks account sooner or later. It’s only when he created serial accounts and openly mocked the company that they decided they had enough. Remember folks, forget about the TOS. Twitter is a private company. They are under no obligation to allow anybody an account. The CEO of Twitter could select a random account to suspend each morning just for the fun of it, and there would be no legal recourse.

re: #25 blueraven

Not likely. Twitter was never under any obligation to provide him any economic opportunities or business opportunities.

Twitter makes it clear that the TOS violations are sufficient for a banning. He violated them, he got banned (finally). And all accounts under his name are also banned (per TOS).

31 Ace-o-aces  May 26, 2015 10:34:09am

Oh, @gotnewsfan still exists, but they haven’t tweeted anything in a couple of weeks. I don’t think it’s a sock puppet though. I think even they gave up on Upchuck after the Amtrak crash when Goatnews went crazy with the racism/homophobia.

Well yes, I understand that his website is not really news, but there are plenty of offensive blogs and websites that masquerade as such.

The twitter account Per se didn’t contain offensive material that I saw, though it did link to it.

Yep, it was pretty much the classic case of the board bully finally getting shitcanned. Everything from the multiple suspensions that got lifted after (false) promises of better behavior going forward, to running afoul of someone the mods (Twitter) couldn’t afford to have leave leading to a longer suspension, and the creation of socks in violation of the rules leading to a perma-ban when the mods realized they were wasting their time with the temporary suspensions.

But I’ve seen this enough times to know he’ll find some way to return. It’ll be weeks or months, but he’ll find a way to sneak back in. Or he’ll be able to con the mods again into believing he’ll play nice.

And if you read this piece of crap, here’s what you find:

She is most likely one of these four girls…

So he didn’t “ID” her at all! In fact, assuming one of these four women is actually the anonymous author of the Jezebel piece, he published the names of at least three women who have NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

This is why he’s a total scumbag.

You may remember that MrBWS had a very serious health scare during winter with a bad case of flu followed by coughing up blood. A CT revealed a 5cm mass in his lung, on his brachial tube next to his heart. The initial diagnosis was 99% chance of lung cancer.

Officials: 30 people missing in flooding along Blanco River

statesman.com

Hays County officials said 30 people are missing in flooding along Blanco River in Central Texas.

Hays County Commissioner Will Conley said there have been two confirmed casualties from the weekend flooding, up from the one reported Monday. He also said that 12 people remain missing and another 30 are unaccounted for.

The second body was found today in Caldwell County. Both of the dead are still unidentified. More

Some people just aren’t getting the concept. They are using Deray’s tweets as proof that Twitter targeted Chucky. Or something.

That’s not exactly proof of anything. Chucky’s actions stand on their own as exhibit A for being suspended per Twitter’s TOS.

If you’re trying to claim selective enforcement, Chucky’s not your poster child - not when he was engaging in all manner of violations - from harassment to doxing to putting a hit on others. Targeted harassment. Threats of physical force/harm.

Each one of those was a violation. Altogether, they mean he deserves banning.

This wasn’t just an isolated event. This is all Chucky ever used Twitter for - to harass, smear, lie, and dox.

And Twitter finally acted and banned him from their service.

Court won’t lift hold on Obama immigration action

bigstory.ap.org

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A federal appeals court refused Tuesday to lift a temporary hold on President Barack Obama’s executive action that could shield as many as 5 million immigrants illegally living in the U.S. from deportation.

The U.S. Justice Department had asked the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse a Texas judge who agreed to temporarily block the president’s plan in February, after 26 states filed a lawsuit alleging Obama’s action was unconstitutional. But two out of three judges on a court panel voted to deny the government’s request.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the government would appeal, either to the full appeals court in New Orleans or to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The states suing to block the plan, led by Texas, argue that Obama acted outside his authority and that the changes would force them to invest more in law enforcement, health care and education. But the White House has said the president acted within his powers to fix a “broken immigration system.” More

This case was appealed by the DoJ from Andrew Hanen’s court in Brownsville TX. Hanen was a GW Bush appointee.

Rescuers have reached one of the nine miners trapped underground in a gold mine in the Abitibi region of Quebec.

They became trapped around 3:30 a.m. ET in the Westwood Mine in Preissac, after a collapse that appears to have been caused by seismic activity.

“Nobody has been injured. [They’re] in top shape. We talk with them every 15 minutes,” said Sylain Lehoux, the mine’s general manager.

One of the miners was trapped alone and separated from the eight others, according to Lehoux. Rescuers have now reached that man, but have not yet brought him to the surface.

The company has suspended other work at the mine for the day as rescue efforts continue.

How thoughtful of them to close the mine during rescue efforts…

DFW runway closed due to sinkhole

Dallas/Fort Worth Airport shut down one of its four main runways on Tuesday morning because of a sinkhole.

Airport airfield inspectors found the sinkhole in a grassy area about 250 feet between a taxiway and runway 18L, which sits just west of Terminals B and D, said airport spokesman David Magaña in a statement. The sinkhole, estimated at 25-feet-by-25-feet, is located towards the south end of the runway.

“The sinkhole is not located on the runway or taxiway itself, but in an area called the safety area,” Magaña said. “The runway will remain closed until repairs are completed.”

He used one of these accounts to threaten legal action against the similarly named but sane blogger Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, who has apparently done great damage to award-winning journalist Chuck C. Johnson by documenting all the stupid shit he does on Twitter. As the Sane Johnson notes, the Insane Johnson might actually have won himself an extra double secret suspension by creating the extra accounts, which violate Twitter’s rules against creating “multiple accounts for disruptive or abusive purposes;” Twitter also warns that “Mass account creation may result in suspension of all related accounts.”

Didn’t Chuck many times claim he was not affiliated with any party that he was an equal opportunity career killer?

Now he is being vilified all over the ‘net as a right wing conservative nut job and his name recognition is off the clock all over the ‘net today and he can neither claim he is not a party guy or take part in all the recognition.

He finally makes it big time…remember, there is no bad publicity…and he can’t mine it.

Totally OT, but some good news from the Backwoods homestead:
You may remember that MrBWS had a very serious health scare during winter with a bad case of flu followed by coughing up blood. A CT revealed a 5cm mass in his lung, on his brachial tube next to his heart. The initial diagnosis was 99% chance of lung cancer.
A PET scan a couple of weeks later showed the mass shrinking and no evidence that it was cancer.
A followup CT scan was ordered for 3 months later, which was Friday.
Results are back.
The mass is GONE.
Disappeared.
Zip.

Real Journalist. Real Awards.

I can see why Chuck would be all “she’s a bitch” about her.

Professional jealousy, except Chuck isn’t a professional.

I do think that most people who presented Chuck’s tweet as a threat did so only to get Twitter’s attention and make them finally deal with him for good. I reported it as both that and as targeted harassment. I admit that reporting it as a threat was a cynical move, and I don’t care. He owns the fact that he phrased his tweet in such an ambiguous way. And combined with his previous “with the right amount of $ I can hunt down anyone” tweet he was simply begging to be reported. Also, in a way it doesn’t matter what he meant, it matters what the craziest of his followers might have inferred from his deliberately vague language.

Anyway, in the end Twitter got it right, and suspended him citing the correct rule violation. So what anybody else says about it is irrelevant, that’s the official, definitive reason he was booted. Any talk of false threat reporting and metaphor is a red herring.

257 Charles Johnson  May 26, 2015 2:45:16pm

It may not have been a death threat per se, but what Chuck posted to DeRay was absolutely a threat to harm him. And with Chuck’s audience, that kind of violent language could very easily inspire one of the creeps who follow him to commit real violence. Chuck is very aware of this. I think it’s one of the reasons why he does what he does - he’s trying to get people hurt.

The report specified “threat” as one of violence, which for someone who’s followed Chuck and understands the context, was a stretch at best. But again, I didn’t care, when a person says shit like that, which can be reasonably interpreted as a violent threat then they own it. Context, in that context (heh) becomes sort of irrelevant.

And again, even as I concede it’s not what he meant, it could easily be what one of his more unhinged followers inferred. As such it was massively irresponsible.

At the bare minimum CCJ was always coming from an antagonistic viewpoint. He saw everything as a target to destroy. So, he was hostile from the get go. Maybe not murderous, but definitely he was an enemy to everyone not named Chuck C Johnson.

And with that thought, I really wonder if he has any actual friends and confidants. He is in a place where he may need them now, but he may have burned ‘em all out getting to this point.

I’m not sure how his particular personality type will deal with total rejection. I suspect it isn’t going to be pretty. He may become more monstrous, or maybe he will get his first real lesson in how to chill the hell out.

For his sake, I hope he has a long talk with himself and discovers why he wanted to be such an asshole…about everything and to everybody. He is getting a big life lesson. Heed it.

My favorite thing about Mandy was that she was so incensed by someone using the Lord’s name in vain, but for years had this really lame avi of Calvin peeing on the Arabic script for Allah (God). When people finally pointed out that Arab Christians and Jews prayed to “Allah” too she still didn’t change it. Charles had to basically make her change it by finally telling her straight up how much he didn’t like it.

This has been your Mandy Manners recap. You may now go back to your regular blogging.

One nice thing about this old house. It’s basement is a bomb shelter. My basement walls are at least 18” thick limestone footers. And they run all around the perimeter and there are two more only about 8 foot apart down the center to mimic the main hallway and staircase.

And it is brick except for the third floor which is tudor style. It’s been around for about 110 years now. I’m hoping that means it has stood through some storms.

At least 266 deaths have been reported in Telangana where a maximum temperature of 44.5°C was recorded in Ramagundam city. The First Doc on Homosexuality Was Considered Lost. Now It’s Online.

Debuting on September 11, 1961, The Rejected was notable for not only being the first ever televised documentary on homosexuality ever aired in America, but for its inclusion of homosexuals in the conversation. This conversation often took place between ostensibly straight experts on the subject rather than with the subjects themselves, who are often blamed for their “condition.” The Rejected takes a progressive — for the time — view, often placing the onus on society and its treatment of homosexuals.

Seconded. The origin of religious right activism in attempts to evade school desegregation while keeping tax-exempt status is an important subject.

I find the whole issue a bit strange and sad. In Japan I’d see young children out and about all the time without their parents.

My brother said the same thing, though he typically sees them together in groups as a sort of safety in numbers thing.

Oh wow! I just got a letter from Reince Priebus with a “census” for Congressional District Illinois 11. It’s just filled with wonderful questions. A sample:

Do you generally identify yourself as a:
Conservative Republican
Moderate Republican
Independent Voter who leans Republican
Liberal Republican
Libertarian
Tea Party member
Other ______

Register your opinion on the following social issues:
School prayer
Ban burning of the flag
Ban human cloning
Ban all abortions
Faith based initiatives
Fight against same sex marriage
Ban federal funds for abortion
Ban federal funds for birth control
Other——-

With revelations of “Fast and Furious”, IRS abuses, the Benghazi cover-up and other major scandals in recent years, do you feel Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill have the right to hold government bureaucrats fees to the fire and demand more transparency from the Obama administration?

Do you feel that actions by the Obama Administration in recent years have seriously eroded American’s individual freedoms?

Are Republicans in Congress right to fight back against the Obama Administrations efforts to severely cut America’s military power?

Should American take military action if necessary to keep Iran and North Korea from obtaining nuclear weapons?

Do you support Republican efforts to defer fully implementing Obamacare and replacing it with something that will address the high cost of health care while maintaining the quality of care?

Then there is the money pitch at the bottom. I liked this one:

I cannot send a donation at that level right now. But I am enclosing $15 to help pay for the cost of processing my census document

You wouldn’t believe how many questions are about Obama, as if he were running again. SMH.

I found, I think three or four Kelly Lees who were CA attorneys; then, if you add in people with Kelly as first name, Lee as middle and another surname, there are beaucoup. And, that’s assuming this person’s name is actually Kelly Lee and that she is a CA attorney, which I highly doubt, based on some of the things she tweets.

Maybe the shine is coming off a college education?

New Mexico’s college enrollment is tanking fast

“NM College Enrollment Decline Leads Nation.” Thus did one local headline chronicle the news last week of the precipitous drop in the number of students entering New Mexico’s universities this academic year compared to just last year.

The numbers are stark: Almost 11,000 fewer students enrolled at New Mexico’s institutions of higher education for the fall semester of 2014 than in the fall of 2013.

Think upon it. We’re talking here about a decline of 8.3 percent in only twelve months. The rate of decline in college enrollment, nationally, was 1.9 percent, so to report that New Mexico’s decline “leads” the nation is to understate the case dramatically.

I remember that discussion. There are two possibilities to consider for GOP reform.

1) The GOP starts losing big enough (by continuing exodus of the relatively moderate members of the party) that they have to reform.

2) An influx of sane and non-vicious people into the GOP occurs that is large enough to overcome the current leadership.

IMO, these are both low probability events, but option #2 seems much less likely to work than option #1. In particular, option #2 involves people of good will enabling the jackasses that currently run the GOP to gain more power (supposedly temporarily). That isn’t going to be an easy sell, and it shouldn’t be.

re: #453 Charles Johnson

Now I remember why I never used it—because it wouldn’t work when I had my Pages URL set as my web site. If I take that out, it works.

GotNwes in the public interest has translated Chuck-ese into English.

BREAKING: “World” celebrates “censorship” of metaphor “journalist” #ChuckCJohnson

We at GotNwes know many of you one or two of you are disappointed by the loss of blogger Chuck C. Johnson from the Twitterverse, and frustrated by DDOS attacks on his blog, the parody nwes site GotNewsDotCom.

In the public interest, we present a freely translated version of his latest whine-fest.

GotNewsDotCom’s editor-in-thief Charles C. Johnson appears to have been banned from Twitter permanently for using the metaphor phrasal verb “take out.”

In an interview with himself, Johnson said he was referring to doing an exposé on @DeRay McKesson, a radical activist with ties to Black Nationalist organizations … and Twitter, and CNN, and the Washington Post … and not referring to taking out DeRay as in killing him, or worse yet, as in going out with him on a date. Eww!

Not content to censor just Johnson’s @ChuckCJohnson account and the two others he created in a last minute, desperate grasp to maintain his Twitter lifeline, the service has also banned GotnewsDotcom’s twitter feed as well, in a first ever mass censorship of one person. Except maybe for Todd Kincannon.

I’m joining in the celebrations late. I’m so happy that this fiend has been permanently banned by twitter. Hopefully his Facebook account and his web server are next. Its a shame that it’s taken so long.
