Blogger Connected to Chuck Johnson’s Crusade Against Thad Cochran Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy

Chuck’s friends taking the fall

Tonight we have some fallout from Chuck C. Johnson’s crusade against Thad Cochran in Mississippi, as a far right blogger pleads guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary in a plot to take video of Cochran’s wife as she lay bedridden in a nursing home: Kelly Pleads Guilty to Conspiracy in Cochran Photo Case.

This, my friends, is the kind of horrible shit Chuck Johnson was involved in.

CANTON - Clayton Kelly took a last minute plea deal before his trial for breaking into the nursing home room of U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran’s late wife last year and videoing her for a political hit piece.

Kelly’s lawyer said testimony from nursing home guards while arguing motions to dismiss the case tanked Kelly’s strongest defense — that he did not sneak into the nursing home, but was allowed in by guards.

Attorney Kevin Camp said that while he had not been allowed to talk with guards, he was led to believe they would say Kelly was waived in to see Cochran’s wife. But on the stand Monday, a guard from St. Catherine’s said Kelly obviously lied about who he was there to see, or he would have not been allowed in without clearance from nurses or the Cochran family.

“The officer saying he had gotten in by deception — I think (Kelly) sort of realized he didn’t have a whole lot of options,” Camp said. “… He couldn’t take a chance.”

Note: Chuck Johnson was subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury in Mississippi in a related case, but ignored it.

One down, One to go….

Does the fact that upChuck has ignored a subpoena for a Grand Jury mean that a bench warrant has been issued for him?

Now, if only we could get a bunch of investors for Sell-Sword together, have him meet them at a nice hotel in Gulfport. You know, maybe some fishing, talk over investing in your enterprise.

This is possibly one of the things that makes me despondently worried: it’s the perfect recipe for re-normalizing racism, sexism, etc. The media so desperately wants to maintain the golden mean bullshit that it’s relegitimizing the worst sins of the psychotic wing of the GOP that has taken over and basically won discussion after discussion by sheer volume rather than any merits. And because they’re so piss-scared of the ‘liberal media’ label, they go fucking along with it and give cover under ‘boys will be boys’ shit while giving the third degree to anyone who calls out the double standard.

I encourage the GOP in this campaign to “Drive Up the White Vote”. Hey Ann? All white people who are on your side already vote—have in the last four presidential elections at least. The white people who don’t vote:

1) Can’t afford to take time off work, or

2) Couldn’t register because they move around all the time chasing a job they can live on, or

3) Didn’t register because they’re afraid of being called for jury duty, wich would ruin them, or

4) Live in areas that are too far from a polling station because you’ve closed down most of them, and can’t take the bus to get there, because you’ve eliminated that, too….

There are many more reasons.

So I encourage this effort. Register every white person in the country while continuing your voter-suppression tactics on People of Color—go ahead! I dare you!

On one hand, I’m so jealous that you got to play with some great folks. On the other, it involved touring, which I could tolerate for about 10 seconds.

A double stack of Marshall 100 watt amps and cabinets. On that tour they were rented and I had huge problems with them not sounding right, melting down, sometimes outright blowing up during a show. Touring in the early 80s was pretty primitive.

Got an 85 year old house which I love. Spent the first couple of years restoring it to it’s former glory, such as removing the cheap light fixtures and replacing them with rebuilt/restored art deco pieces that were period correct, remodeling the kitchen to put in new electrical and then garbage disposal, built-in dishwasher, stove hood, etc. while retaining and fixing up the original built in place cabinets.

They don’t build them like this anymore. Pity.

I ran sound and did some roadie work for a midwest heavy rock band 1973 through ‘76 when not busy with art school. Know all about that. One good thing for a while with those guys were they were using Acoustic 370 series solid-states. Cut down on the problems. Also cut down on the warm sounds too. Ouch!

It was the head of the Repub party in Houston, one Steven Hotze who was openly advocating replacing the US Constitution with Biblical law. Ann Coulter doesn’t give much of a care about the electoral math. Her strategy can be summed up as “Spewing hate and filth for profit.”

Frankly, I don’t think bombthrowers like her want Republicans to win the White House in 2016. Because if Republicans held the entire government in January of 2017, then there would follow at least two years where the chances to spew would be greatly limited and so would the bombthrowers’ book sales and speaking engagements, since the party in power has to at least try to get things done and cannot simply “hold the line”.

On that same note, Jep Robertson of Duck Dynasty had a golden opportunity to draw a positive distinction between the Robertsons and the Duggars, and instead he joined Megyn Kelly in providing cover to a child molester:

Jep Robertson of the Duck Dynasty clan has revealed he was molested at 6-years-old.

The youngest of son of Kay and Phil Robertson told ET on Monday that a far older girl once forced him to touch her under her shirt and pull down his pants on the school bus.

Here’s the disgraceful part:

But, eventually, Robertson was able to tell his family about what he’d been through as a child.

‘I think we as a family just stuck together and prayed a lot,’ said Jep, who suggested that another reality TV family, the Duggars, do the same.

While he said he doesn’t know Josh Duggar, who’s accused of molesting four of his sisters as a teenager, or what’s ‘in his heart,’ Robertson said they can make it through the media scrutiny if they stick together.

GO TEAM GO!

I’m sorry Dark_Falcon, but your naked partisanship is quite tiring.

I couldn’t find a way to work this into a conversation, but this article really needs to be seen widely so I made a Page about it:

While I grant that I taught at a university and not at a junior or high school and readily acknowledge the difference, none were more respectful to me as an educator and a woman as were my black students.

I’m sorry, I misread Dark_Falcon’s comment entirely. Although I disagree with his assertion that people like Ann Coulter want Republicans to lose in 2016.

Because if you’re not a saint at 14, you deserve to get smacked down and sat on.

So much wrong with that whole Kelly crapfest—where to start:

1. Mark Fucking Fuhrman sharing his oh so expert opinions on police procedure and race relations.

2. “Race aside, Megyn, I think to watch a woman being handled like that by a guy who’s two times her size made me totally sick to my stomach,” Fowler said.
Sort of right sentiment, but race isn’t “aside” and a 14-year-old is a kid, not a woman (unless it’s Josh Duggar, then he’s a young, innocent, pubescent adolescent)

3. It looked kind of bad, the way he was attempting to get her on the ground.” Word of wisdom from Fuhrman.

4. “The girl was no saint, either…” I’m sure he didn’t know she was 14 at the time,” Kelly replied. “Maybe he did, we can’t assume it. But now we know, and she looked like a young woman.
Cogent, insightful commentary from the kocktail dress-clad Kelly.
Ugh.

I am not at all surprised that GOP racism gets a pass from the modern media. The sad truth is that there are more quietly racist white people than anyone wants to believe. A lot of good, blue collar Democrats went for the GOP because of Civil Rights, followed by another exodus once liberals committed to fighting for women and gays to have something like equal status.

On a related note, I see that Irene Gallo has been humiliated by Tom Doherty and Tor for telling the truth about the Sad/Rabid Puppies, with some assistance from fantasy leftist Eric Flint who keeps telling people that the Puppies aren’t racist, homophobic scoundrels - despite the rather large amount of available evidence to the contrary - and establishes his authoriteh on this point by saying that he was a labor organizer back in the day.
