Chuck Johnson Sneaks Back Onto Twitter, Attacks @DeRay McKesson Again

He can’t help giving himself away
Weird • Views: 37,181

Yes, Chuck C. Johnson is openly admitting tonight that he’s using the @GotNewsResearch account ostensibly created by his crony Shannon Knutsen, with tweets written in the first person clearly referring to our earlier article on him stalking Twitter’s offices in San Francisco.

Johnson is also using the account to try to raise money to go after DeRay McKesson again.

Right now, it seems it’s Chuck in a Shannon disguise.

However, to those of us who know his style, he ain’t fooling anyone.

Since no one ever suggested that Shannon was stalking anyone ever, that tweet makes no sense if it was anyone else but Chuck who wrote it.

Scott Walker is shitting on us all.

Manure report cites ‘massive regulatory failure’

Weak regulatory oversight has allowed large-scale farms to “spiral out of control” and pollute groundwater without consequences, advocacy groups claim in a new report released Wednesday.

The report’s authors accuse the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources of giving “tacit approval” for pollution by ignoring evidence of widespread spills, intentional discharges and the over-spreading of manure.

The report focuses on 16 large dairy and beef farms, referred to as concentrated animal feeding operations, in Kewaunee County, where some studies suggest one-third of private drinking wells are contaminated with nitrates, E. coli and other harmful bacteria.

Just as stupid as the sorta-armed robber who shot a blank gun at an off-duty Philadelphia police detective during a pizza place robbery. Naturally, the cop shot him dead.* Only difference is that the robber only got himself killed while that foolish woman could have killed her kids.

*: There haven’t been any protests in this Philly case, even though the cop is white and the robber was black. The pizza joint caught the whole thing on video, complete with the muzzle flashes from the perp’s blank-gun. Add in the testimony of the pizza stand’s employees, and this one is being properly regarded as a justified shooting.

Understanding how that sounds…. what’s a woman to do who has no money for a babysitter or daycare, she has no one available to watch her kids for free, she can’t leave them at home alone and would be in just as much trouble if she did. Apparently they won’t let her bring them to court with her and they provide no facilities to watch them. Yes, leaving them alone in a hot car is deadly and is a very, very bad thing to do. Yet, I can’t help but feel some sympathy for her plight and that of those little kids given no more information.

I’m going to just go ahead and say it… The blacks are the ones causing the problems and this ‘racial tension.’ I guess that is what happens when you flunk out of school and have no education. I’m sure their parents are just as guilty for not knowing what their kids were doing; or knew it and didn’t care. Weird indeed. Water ice is a good guess, but how? Low velocity collisions are possible among asteroids, though unlikely. Could this one have bumped the surface just fast enough to squash the impacting body without vaporizing it? Such a feature would accumulate dust pretty quickly so this would have to be very recent as well.

True fact: I worked as an extra in the Hannah Montana movie. Got paid $65 for two days of standing in 90-degree Tennessee heat waving a sign around and yelling “Miley! Miley!” or some such thing.

You won’t see me. Maybe you can see the sign I was holding, though.

This whole escapade was my ex’s idea. Our niece was once a Hannah Montana fan (but not at the time we went to TN for the shoot), so when my ex saw the ad for extras, she persuaded us to go. All three of us were supposed to be extras. But the heat got to niece and ex-wife, and only I followed through.

I never saw Miley or Billy Ray. While we peons were trying to avoid heat stroke, the stars were chilling in their air conditioned trailer while the director shot around their eventual appearances. We extras were told to look and cheer at big X’s made of gaffer’s tape.

Here’s an amusing tidbit of life in China. After seven years of allowing pirated streams of The Big Bang Theory to be online, the state censors last fall banned TBBT entirely. No reasons were given, but Chinese netizens suggest that the humorless censors thought “big bang” means explosions, and banned the show because they thought it condoned or encouraged violence.

Many other American shows have also been eliminated from China’s video streaming websites, not that it prevents determined viewers from seeing those shows.

In April, the censors also banned 62 anime and manga titles, and last month banned 38 more, including Sailor Moon, Conan the Detective, and Naruto. shanghaiist.com

Censors said the streaming websites “induced teenagers to engage in violence and pornography.”

Watched The Aviator on Netflix this week. Howard Hughes is best known to the general public for being a completely batshit weirdo, but he was also a genius, a visionary, and often a very kind and sensitive man.
He was a billionaire at 20, at a time when a billion dollars was still a LOT of money, as the joke goes. He could have spent his life as a useless playboy but he chose a very different path, one that nearly killed him more than once.

He is a revered figure in the aviation world.

This great film captures both sides of his complex persona perfectly. His epic take down of the corrupt Senator Brewster really happened pretty much as shown, though it was actually a lot slower and less dramatic. The flight of the H-4 Hercules is one of the great triumphal climaxes in the history of film, and a beautiful bit of cinematography and special effects. (Like Hughes himself, I despise the disparaging term “Spruce Goose” since this was popularized by the loathsome Brewster, and the aircraft was actually made of birch anyway.)

I have always believed that Hughes could have gotten the help he needed had it not been for the stigma attached to mental illness in those days. There is no telling what he could have accomplished, or how long he might have lived, if he had.

Do more to counter Russian propaganda

Parliament calls on the Commission to earmark adequate funding without delay for concrete projects to counter Russian propaganda and misinformation within the EU and abroad and to programme “more ambitious financial assistance” for Russian civil society. It expresses concern at the deterioration of human rights and the rule of law in Russia and calls for continued EU support for Russian human rights defenders.

Put an end to Russia’s interference in EU democracies

MEPs are also alarmed that Russia is positioning itself as a challenger of the international democratic community and its law-based order and is supporting and financing radical and extremist parties in the EU. They call for a coordinated mechanism to be set up by the Commission and EU member states to monitor financial, political or technical assistance provided by Russia to political parties and other organisations in the EU and to assess its influence over political life and public opinion. The Commission should also propose legislation ensuring the full transparency of political funding and financing of political parties in the EU by stakeholders outside it, MEPs say.

The European Parliament officially recognizes the threat of the Russian government’s unprecedented propaganda activities in the West and their support for extremists. Why don’t we? The Kremlin’s official state-owned mouthpiece, rt.com, is a favorite source for American conspiracy theorists and nuts of every description. The Russian state’s social media disinformation operations have been exposed by the New York Times, among others. How much more is there? re: #50 wheat-dogghazi-mailgate

What a funny coincidence: my brother William, who’s been trying to break into acting off-and-on for a few years now, was also an extra on the Hannah Montana movie on a couple of the location shoots around the greater Nashville area during filming (down in Columbia and also up in Ridgetop at Smiley Hollow), over about a week or so. He actually made some decent money, about a grand or so IIRC, but some long, shitty hours.

Every now and then, he still gets a Hannah Montana joke thrown at him at work ;-)

Why, yes, accusing “white feminism”, as if it were some sort of a monolith, of being a bunch of cowards and traitors does require more than an individual’s perceptions. And having seen during the Arquette debacle how facts are easily distorted or cooked out of whole cloth, I’m not inclined to simply take anyone’s word on such matters.

Those are different perceived and real which are not really relevant to this issue. I’m talking about how if someone had bad individual experiences with individual white feminists, this cannot be extrapolated. Just as not having witnessed such things cannot be extrapolated.

The facts should be both verifiable and statistically significant to make such a serious judgment. If such facts cannot be furnished, it’s just petty race-baiting that helps exactly no one and alienates allies. If there are such facts, bring them to the table. Gather the links, write an article. Problems should be aired out.

I’m certainly not dismissing the complaint. I will however ask for the real data. Hence my original question: “Is it?”.

Where is the real money coming from?

There is a strong anti-intellectual traidition in America, I think it stems from a time when we were jealous of Europe’s position as a leader in science, art and culture.

Americans compensated by branding Europe decadent and claiming that we were morally superior.

CCJ is just exposing the built-in massive hypocrisy and ideologically void blank space the far right preaches.

All they preach is that business should be able to do whatever a business wants to do. Twitter obviously does not want CCJ around any longer. Yet, like a psycho Junior in high school obsessed with the pretty blonde who won’t go out with him, he keeps stalking around, sending little threatening innuendo, talking trash behind her back, obsessing with little photos of her all over his bedroom wall, etc etc etc…bad enough for an emotionally hindered Juniors in HS, but profoundly disturbing to see this continued behavior in someone nearing 30.

So let’s spell this out for Chuck the very simple, Right Wing Ideology way:

1. Business can do no wrong. And if they do wrong it is not the government’s role to correct it. Supply and Demand should be the ultimate judge.

2. Businesses should have complete freedom of association. They can do business with whomever they want to, and disassociate themselves from whoever they want. This means you, Chuck.

3. If you are not allowed on Twitter, it is your American Right to invent another outlet that can compete with Twitter. Continued encroachment means you are guilty of trespassing.

4. Trespassing in the real world means the owner of the property has the right wing carte blanche to shoot you. (remember we are talking hypothetical right wing Utopia here)

5. Virtual trespassing means you are in violation of your own ideology. Any persons supporting your trespassing are also in violation and subject to the same terms of use you are in violation of. Those that support this trespassing endeavor are also guilty of a massive ideological hypocrisy. …Nothing new here in the Utopia of our Right Wing

One Governor’s Audacious, Unprecedented Effort To Use Personal Wealth To Re-Create The Legislature

thinkprogress.org

(snip)

The Few, The Proud, The Wealthy
The wealth of Rauner and his network is being deployed through a variety of means. The most explicit is the governor’s campaign fund, which still retains about $20 million. Rauner contributed more than half of this himself — $10.5 million — after the November election, and it’s from this pool that the $400,000 in Republican legislative contributions originated. On top of this, a super PAC called “Turnaround Illinois” was recently formed by two of Rauner’s former campaign aides, with the goal of supporting “needed reforms”, and “to oppose those who stand in the way.”

That PAC reflects the name of the governor’s legislative agenda, “The Illinois Turnaround,” and Rauner is one of only two disclosed donors to the fund, contributing $250,000 to it at the end of April. He has also publicly embraced its mission, stating, “Since we won the election, there have been many donors, both in Illinois and around the United States, who believe strongly in the vision that we have for turning Illinois around and believe very strongly in our leadership and have offered to send financial support. So we’ve created that PAC to begin to receive those contributions.” Political observers predict that Turnaround Illinois will concentrate its energy and resources on the state’s Republicans, who currently hold roughly 38 percent of the seats in the General Assembly. But the maid/nanny without whom it would be impossible for my spouse and I to both work full-time — she’s probably Black or Hispanic, and we probably don’t give her paid vacations or health care, we’re probably paying her under the table so she’ll be screwed if she ever needs Unemployment or Disability or when she’s old enough for Social Security…

re: #136 sagehen

Even as a lowly office worker in the early 1960s, I employed a Black nanny for my kids who was recommended by a neighbor. She worked for $20/wk plus I paid her bus fare, also. That was fully 1/3 of my weekly pay before taxes. Even so, I felt very bad about the fact that she had to leave her own 2 little ones at home with her own mother as their caretaker, just to keep mine for so little. I didn’t expect her to do housework or anything else, except to watch the kids.

At the time, there were few daycares for working women, esp at the lower end of the pay scale. Most women in my position had family or a neighbor keep their kids in order to work, but that wasn’t an option for me. I did find a daycare in the working class area in which I lived after I moved, but it turned out to be little more than a warehouse for children, as I found out. I didn’t have a car at the time and these people both picked up and delivered my 2 pre-schoolers; otherwise, I would have had to do a bus which would have taken a lot of time, the service being what it was.

When I got involved in the women’s movement a few years later, these were issues that a few of us constantly brought up—race and class. I’m not sure that a whole lot has changed in 40-something years, though.

OT:
Texas Man and His Dog Found Dead After Becoming Trapped Inside Car

A U.S. Army veteran from Texas and his dog were found dead after an electronic malfunction apparently caused the pair to become trapped inside the man’s sports car.

Port Arthur police officials say 72-year-old James Rogers and his Shih Tzu, named “Baby Girl” Leia, were found unresponsive inside the Chevy Corvette on Monday afternoon.

Police believe Rogers became trapped inside the car with electric locks and windows after a battery cable came loose and locked the doors and disabled the horn, NBC affiliate KBMT reported.

I wonder if battery going dead presents a similar issue.

There is a manual release lever safety feature next to the driver’s seat closest to the door, a feature listed in the car’s handbook — but many owners are not aware of it, experts said.

Now God has really pissed me off!

C’mon, he gave us 85 years of Ornette, that is enough for most of us.

As a young lad in Gary, Indiana, I had just taken some yellow tab acid. I had previously taken only fairly pure stuff that took a long time to get off on because there was little or no speed mixed in with it.

But these little tabs had me off like a rocket in less than an hour and I was worried…”Oh my God, what is this stuff gonna be like in another hour?”.

So I went to visit a freind, the one who had turned me onto Ornette and Miles and Coltrane and modern jazz in general.

He sat me down with a book of Hieronymous Bosch paintings and put on Ornette Coleman’s “Birds of America”.

I pulled through it, the stuff peaked rather rapidly and I found myself perfectly able to cope with the freakiest sounds and images afterwards.

There is nothing inherently “left” or “right”, these are only descriptive labels that have to be viewed subjectively and in their respective political context.

Apparently they won’t let her bring them to court with her and they provide no facilities to watch them.

In my state there is no problem bringing children to the courthouse and you can bring them into the courtroom with the judge on the bench as well until they cause a disturbance.

This moron already left “a child” in the car in the Sam’s Club parking lot where children are allowed inside. All she was doing at the courthouse was turning herself in. I see no reason why she would not be allowed to bring her kids in. She’s just stupid.

The motor fuel tax isn’t providing enough money so eliminate it? And replace those funds with what, from where? Right. And then disburse these mystery funds in block grants to the states because there’s no way that those busted-ass states whose Republican Governors and state leges ran them into the ground would in any way divert those funds to help balance their budgets. Republicans love them some block grants because they remove accountability from how those funds are used.

A few trillion dollars’ worth of effort and we could destroy ISIS just as effectively as we destroyed the Taliban and Iraq’s militias. Oh, yeah. And after we’ve destroyed ISIS our forces will be able to take a nice break before they destroy its successor.

Maybe it’s time to pay some smart, knowledgeable people from outside of government to determine what we can do, or not do, to preclude the rise of groups like ISIS. It may turn out that, even if one solution is to buy every adult in the ME a new car, we’ll spend less money and far fewer lives in the long run.

It may turn out that, even if one solution is to buy every adult in the ME a new car, we’ll spend less money and far fewer lives in the long run.

Simply put, a lot of it is education, or in this re-education (not to sound like a happy little Maoist or anything).

ISIS is essentially an apocalyptic cult; they fervently believe we’re in the End Times and they’ve based a good deal of their ideology on cherry-picking various eschatological hadiths of dubious veracity. Like any apocalyptic cult, once doomsday - or their vision of it - fails to materialize, their members will grow disillusioned and slowly but surely, begin falling away from the cult.

However, it’s also a bit more than your run-of-the-mill doomsday cult…….many of the core leadership cadre of ISIS is made up of former Iraqi Ba’athist regime members, particularly from Saddam’s old intelligence services. To what extent they actually believe in the doomsday scenarios promulgated by ISIS, I don’t know; I’ve never spoken to any of them. It’s entirely possible they’re just using eschatology to regain power and control in the largely Sunni areas of Iraq - which just happen to be areas seething with a good deal of discontent against the central - and Shi’a dominated - Baghdad government.

Of course, for ISIS, it’s absolutely vital to hold the small Syrian town of Dabiq, not far from the Turkish border, as according to the aforementioned eschatological hadiths, that’s where the armies of the West will be crushed by the armies of the Ummah. Should ISIS lose Dabiq, that means those hadiths are wrong - and that will naturally beg the question in the minds of ISIS jihadists: If those hadiths were wrong, what other hadiths are wrong? Have we been misled? Have we been manipulated?

And once the membership of a cult starts asking questions like that, it’s usually not long thereafter that the cult falls apart. Unless they’re gonna pull a People’s Temple, at that point, ISIS will most likely disintegrate.

There’s only one problem - what happens when those disillusioned ISIS members gradually begin drifting back to their respective home countries? Will they still harbor their murderous takfiri ideology? Or will they have become so disillusioned, so broken, that they simply throw in the towel and give up on their utopian fantasies? That’s a good question, I’d say. And one I don’t have the answer to. Only time will tell.

More than a few, I’m sure. Also, more than a few bored, restless drifter types; adventurers, thinking it’d be a grand old time; that sort of thing. Probably a good deal of riff-raff and from what I’ve read, quite a few young men who were ne’er-do-wells, seeking something to turn their lives around.

Like I said - in some ways, a typical apocalyptic cult, though in this case, led by ruthless men who seek to pursue an agenda of power, no matter the cost.

And let’s not forget about Paul Bremer—appointed the Presidential Envoy to Iraq by Bush and subject to the “authority, direction and control” Donald Rumsfeld—who within less than 2 weeks after arriving in Iraq disbanded the entire Iraqi Army of almost half a million.

Many of them were battle-hardened soldiers, and AFAIK they were overwhelmingly Sunni. So you’ve got a bunch of experienced soldiers—many of whom had probably made a career out of their military service—suddenly unemployed. And pissed off. And part of a religious minority. And probably with access to secret caches of weapons, if they were smart.

What could possibly go wrong? //
