Abstinence Advocate Bristol Palin Is Pregnant Out of Wedlock for the 2nd Time

No lectures please
Wingnuts • Views: 54,667

Bristol Palin, who’s been advocating abstinence as a spokeswoman for the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, announced today that she’s pregnant out of wedlock for the second time.

And she doesn’t want any lectures from you people.

I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.

But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.

Combine this with the still unexplained cancellation of the wedding and I’m really beginning to wonder just what the full story is. We might need to call Maury Povich.

What this post requires is some examples of the lectures Bristol has been giving to others.

As I said downstairs, she’s no longer a teenager in a bad place because of her mom. She’s signed on to get paid by griping about culture wars stuff, mostly having to do with personal virtue in and around sexuality.

Also clarifying would be to point out how much money she makes selling those ideas.

Because let’s face it, this whole wingnut purity thing is built on grifting and hypocrisy.

12 Sionainn  Jun 25, 2015 6:01:55pm

She has the option of giving the baby up for adoption to a loving couple instead of being raised by a single mother…because we all know that kids need two parents in their lives.

Bummer that we opened a new thread just as I made my latest guitar post downstairs. Good for a better laugh than the story.

Is it ok if i feel sorry of Bristol’s children and pray they escape from the family someday? And believe that Dakota Meyer dodged another bullet?

27 thedopefishlives  Jun 25, 2015 6:12:47pm

“Sex for me, but not for thee” is the name of the game with the conservative right. I’ve mentioned this before, so many of the religious folk spend so much time and effort suppressing their natural desires, when they do finally cut loose, it’s like a sexual bomb going off. Sometimes it results in tragedy, other times in kids, other times in public-servant-gay-sex scandals.

I’m curious, how does one become an expert on abstinence? You’re basically saying “I’m an expert on not doing something. If you listen to me, you can not do things yourself”. (and then fail miserably at the not-doing part).

re: #8 Charles Johnson

No options for her. There’s only one thing she can do.

And lucky for her she’s in a financial position to be able to handle all this.

From Guttmacher Institute:

Women with family incomes below the federal poverty level ($18,530 for a family of three) account for more than 40% of all abortions.[32] They also have one of the country’s highest abortion rates (52 per 1,000 women). In contrast, higher-income women (with family incomes at or above 200% of the poverty line) have a rate of nine abortions per 1,000, which is about half the national rate.

[…]

Most women identify multiple reasons for having an abortion: Three-fourths cite concerns for or responsibility to other individuals, including children; three-fourths say they cannot afford a child; three-fourths say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or the ability to care for dependents; and half say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner

I would hope that this would cause reflection from the Palin clan and maybe a little empathy for those in a less fortunate situation than they are….but I doubt it

Bristol is Preggers, SCOTUS rules in favor of ACA and for broad interpretation of the Fair Housing Act. It’s going to be a busy night at the wingnut tavern as they drown their sorrow in cheap booze. If only the Supremes had issued a favorable ruling on SSM today as well, they would be jumping of the cliff like lemmings. (and yes, I know that they don’t really jump off cliffs in RL)

However I don’t know if word leaks out on rulings early - like, when all of Washington already knows what the outcome will be, but it’s not public yet… I’m unclear on how the SC issues its decisions.

His 1000 Years of Popular Music project, which this is on, is masterful and he shows, especially with the 16th century break, what an understanding of popular music he really has.

Quite a coincidence that Bristol Palin’s unwed pregnancy announcement coincides with Fox’s announcement of firing her mother.

See, that confused me - a twitter handle like @love2godown21 suggests a porno spambot. And yet, if you actually view that person’s profile, it’s (as the tweet suggests) an old, raving wingnut (in other words, much more brain-bleach-inducing than a pornbot could ever be *_*)

Indeed. I visit the blog all the time, which usually seems pretty sober, but had never followed them on Twitter. They’re definitely a bit less reserved there—they look like fun, so I’m following them now, heh:

And with that, I’m off to catch some Z’s.

republicans 25 no, 2 yes.
democrats 44 yes, 5 no

The republicans continue to pander to ignorance. Too bad there is not a vaccine against that.

Best evidence yet that Republicans choose their positions to oppose whatever Dems are for.

Here’s another court decision that should piss the hell out of wingnuts:

JERSEY CITY — A New Jersey jury on Thursday found a non-profit group that provides gay-to-straight conversion therapy guilty of consumer fraud for promising clients they could overcome their sexual urges by undressing in front of other men, pummeling an effigy of their mothers, and re-enacting traumatic childhood experiences.

In the first case in the nation to put the controversial practice on trial, the jury concluded that Arthur Goldberg and Elaine Berk, the founders of Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing in Jersey City and life coach Alan Downing to whom JONAH referred patients, “engaged in unconscionable commercial practices” and misrepresented their services.

Bwahahaha.

From my email today:

Here’s what Jeb Bush had to say about the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act:

“This decision is not the end of the fight against Obamacare … We need a President who will repeal and replace Obamacare with a conservative solution.”

And Mike Huckabee:

“Today’s King v. Burwell decision … is an out-of-control act of judicial tyranny.”

And Marco Rubio:

“I remain committed to repealing this bad law.”

Almost every Republican running for president made an out-and-out promise to dismantle the Affordable Care Act if elected.

When Misty Copeland made her New York debut in the double role of Odette/Odile in “Swan Lake,” the most epic role in world ballet, two aspects of the performance on Wednesday afternoon proved marvelous. One: that it all happened successfully. Two: the curtain calls.

Let everyone know henceforth that an African-American ballerina has danced this exalted role with American Ballet Theater at the prestigious Metropolitan Opera House. Let everyone know that other African-American dancers, Raven Wilkinson (who danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in 1955-61) and Lauren Anderson (who, with the Houston Ballet, was the first African-American ballerina to became a principal of an American ballet company), brought her bouquets onstage. And let everyone know that her fellow dancers shared her applause with pride.

Bummer that we opened a new thread just as I made my latest guitar post downstairs. Good for a better laugh than the story.

Is it OK if i feel sorry of Bristol’s children and pray they escape from the family someday? And believe that Dakota Meyer dodged another bullet?

Yeah, its fine. Meyer got real lucky to avoid getting attached to the Palins. A man with his amount of courage deserves better than them.

If I were a religious fanatic Jesus-Fearin’ Bible thumper I would suggest that one Bristol Palin has a very difficult time keeping her knees together.

But I am not a Jesus-fearin’ Bible thumper. What I would say is that she displays evidence of a normal, healthy sex drive and the need to act on it. She evidently feels compelled to enjoy sex the same way a high percentage of other young adults enjoy sexual activity, but chooses to not partake in responsible birth preventative measures. Since she comes from a family structure based on moderate monetary wealth, she doesn’t have to worry about the dire poverty and health risk factors other unwed mothers must face in the choice to deliver a fetus to maturity or not.

She also publicly displays a massive amount of hubris, entitlement, and hypocritical narcissism so like her mother, it is scary. For Bristol, sex for me. None for you.
