Hilarious: Dinesh D’Souza Falls for Fake Photo of Hillary Clinton With Confederate Flag

Conservatives and their fake news
Wingnuts • Views: 66,600

Convicted felon Dinesh D’Souza, who is often described as an “intellectual conservative,” fell hook, line and sinker for that fake photo of Hillary Clinton with a “Confederate flag” on her bookshelf, debunked yesterday by LGF contributor “Vicious Babushka.”

In the replies to D’Souza’s tweet, numerous people have informed him it’s not real, but more than two hours after he tweeted it he still hasn’t corrected it, or answered any of these people.

At Talking Points Memo, Brendan James suggests D’Souza may have edited the image himself, but that’s unlikely. As we pointed out yesterday, the fake photo originally appeared on July 5 at this loonball right wing site. And they still haven’t corrected or retracted their post, either.

Conservatives will undoubtedly still be circulating this fake photo for the next ten years.

UPDATE at 7/7/15 11:24:24 am by Charles Johnson

Here’s another popular conservative blogger who fell for this fake; @GayPatriot has nearly 48,000 followers.

The difference is that #UniteBlue will delete it when you tell them it’s fake.

Yeah, I have to admit that I briefly fell for the Palin in the bikini photo with the rifle. But operating under the maxim “if it seems to good to be true, it usually is,” tends to produce the best results. You’ll see them crop up again from time to time, usually either in an ironic usage, or by people so dimwitted it’s amazing they aren’t confined to rotary leashes in their relative’s back yards.

So yeah, pics that in and of themselves prove some ideological point tend to be faked.

Well, other than the occasional Rep. Weiner dick-pic, that is…

True… but many of the left wing fake photos tend to be so absurd it’s kind of obvious they’re fakes, like the Scott Walker underwear picture.

This one, on the other hand, was clearly intended to deceive people.

Former President Carter will be in my neck of the woods this week doing a book signing courtesy of Bookends tomorrow evening. That privately owned bookstore is a huge stop on the book signing circuit, and I’ve gotten quite a few autographed books for gifts from there.

Some of the biggest lines have been for WWE personalities (go figure), though a few politicians have had lines running around the block and the some, including Hillary a few years back.

The Carter book signing will actually be at the Ridgewood YMCA.

If you read history the entire 1840-50s was the southern politicians, especially the fire eaters, threatening to secede. And then they lost the 1860 presidential election and faced the possibility that the government would actually try to limit the expansion of slavery into the territories.

At which point, before the new President even took office, they flipped their lids and started a war which led to a lot of people being killed and their regional economy being devastated for decades. In addition to totally losing their institution then and there that they were willing to burn down a country to keep.

And, of course, all this was someone else’s fault.

A quick check of Hillary Clinton’s bio on Wikipedia yielded the information that she graduated Wellesley College in 1969, which leads one to surmise that either 1) young Hillary’s hideous pants are actually hideous ‘60’s pants, not hideous ’70s pants (which is an important distinction: the 1970’s were one of the worst “fashion deserts” in history); or 2): the Hillary-in-hideous-striped-pants pic isn’t from her college years.

I have a theory that the south would stay in the union so long as they held the “violent intimidation” upper hand. So long as they could sack Lawrence, KS, or beat Charles Sumner half to death, and get no response from the north, they were happy. Then John Brown tried to start a slave insurrection, and they decided to run away, tails between their legs, lest their violence be thrown back in their faces.

I always have to suppress my gag reflexes when the southern aristocracy gets treated as some sort of dignified class. They were violent savages.

re: #108 Jack Burton

Especially for 1969, neither the glasses, nor the hairdo are remotely over the top.

Take a look at either of my parents’ high school yearbooks from 68-70 and OMG! What were some of these people thinking?!!?

Class of ‘69 here—go Spartans! My yearbook was a sea of guys with horn-rimmed glasses and girls in early-60s beehive hairdos. It must have been a convention to fix themselves up that way, because none of the girls ever showed up in school with hairdos like that.

“I’m accountable,” Mr. Christie explained. “It happened on my watch. So you’re accountable. It’s different from being responsible. I think responsible is (for) if you did something. Accountable is, listen, it’s on the governor, the buck stops with me. So I’m accountable. That’s why I fired the folks I fired immediately.”

Well, that clears things up.

Oh but I do. David Barton, for example, is hilarious, a comic genius in fact. His biggest prank was filling a supposed history book with ridiculous errors and actually getting a publisher to print it. They were so embarrassed at their own gullibility that they withdrew it when they got the joke.
Even funnier, he has soberly intoned that Jesus was against the capital gains tax and the minimum wage, and now he has declared that it is un-Christian for people to retire when they get old.
What wonderful satire! Such a sense of the absurd!

Politifact has created an entry for the fake Hillary photo: politifact.com

I’ll give you a hint about the rating…it rhymes with ‘cants on hire’

They burned those pants?

VB has arrived.

The Elders of Zion is a nice touch. She needs to be burning a U.S. flag and stomping on a Bible though.

Cruz, Beck, et. al. warned us this would happen:

‘Homosexual Acts’ Now Okay at Baylor University

For years, Baylor University, the largest Baptist school in the world, considered “homosexual acts” the same as sexual assault, incest, adultery, and sexual harassment. No longer. The university has dropped the ban from its sexual-conduct policy, which had previously considered it among a handful of “misuses of God’s gift.” The new policy no longer bans specific acts, but simply says “physical sexual intimacy is to be expressed in the context of marital fidelity.” Never a school on the cutting edge, Baylor lifted its ban on dancing in 1996.

See, you were also warned about polygamy!

Polygamists want questions on faith quashed at water hearing

A polygamous sect seeking more water for its South Dakota compound wants to block discussion of its faith and member’s personal details during a hearing with regulators.

An attorney for the group argues the information isn’t relevant to the application to the South Dakota Water Management Board.

[…]

The group’s secrecy and history have raised concerns about how many people live at the compound and whether more are coming.

She tweeted a picture of herself dressed as Lucille Ball from I Love Lucy standing next to her son Bobby, who was dressed as Lucy’s husband, Cuban musician Ricky Ricardo and wearing brown makeup.

i think there was also some guy there from india or someplace named desi arnaz but maybe he wasnt important and besides his skin wasnt brown

Well, Bobby might as well write his Cooking Channel show (Not My Mother’s Meals) off, which is a shame, because I actually kind of like it.

You know, I thought he would have the good sense to not act like his mom and to keep his own (public) nose clean, but, as they say, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, apparently.

i think the most interesting thing about the photo is that these guys imagined that desi arnaz had brown skin just because he was cuban whereas in reality arnaz was a thoroughly european looking person

[Rhetorical question, of course: bottom (if not subterranean) bar will be set at this year’s GOP debates….]

You guys must have missed it the first time. I did it originally back in December. I’m glad you like it.

I saw it the first time you posted in December. Since then, whenever I’ve seen his book cover, my brain translates it to “Why Stoolidge Matters”.

I grin every time.

re: #171 SteveMcGaziBolaGate

Jethro Tull is seriously underrated. I actually have more Tull in my library than Led Zeppelin and Beatles combined. They could rock, so well that I think their reputation earned them the first heavy metal Grammy. The next year Metallica thanked them for not putting out an album.

My dad went to a Jethro Tull concert for his 70th birthday. I…what? I assume they have some new band members?
