Another Deceptive Planned Parenthood “Sting” Video Is Released

Lying again
Wingnuts • Views: 62,627

The anti-choice fanatics at the Orwellian “Center for Medical Progress” have released another deceptively edited, blatantly dishonest video attacking another Planned Parenthood official, complete with ominous sinister background music. (I’m not embedding it here, but you can click the link above if you want to see it for yourself.)

It’s another fake, of course. The official, Mary Gatter, says very clearly that the money she discusses is for handling fees, and that clinics do not donate fetal tissue to make money; she says this more than once, in fact. And again, she’s talking about handling fees in the neighborhood of $100 or less per specimen. Anyone who believes Planned Parenthood is violating federal laws for such ridiculously low rewards is just a fool.

But the right wing liars behind this attack go ahead and claim the exact opposite, because they know the kind of people who are taken in by this stuff simply don’t care whether it’s true or not.

We can only hope that nobody is going to fall for this new video who isn’t already blinded by fanaticism. For example, people like this:

They’re against just about everything and everyone else, too.

But remember, they’re “patriots” and “freedom lovers”.

I believe PP will go down like Acorn. Even before these deceptive video’s, many PP offices have been closed. This will be the nail in the coffin. I hope I’m wrong.

7
Targetpractice  Jul 21, 2015 • 10:53:26am

As we learned with ACORN, it’s not the authenticity of the video that matters, it’s playing it as many times to as many people as possible in order to attain the sort of visceral feelings that will support the anti-choice crowd’s goals. In this case, the goal is to slowly strangle PP out of some twisted belief that, with it gone, abortions will magically disappear.

8
wrenchwench  Jul 21, 2015 • 10:53:33am

Among the many lies promoted by the fetus fanatics: God is OK with lying for this ‘good cause’. The expanded version is, “God is OK with killing for this ‘anti-killing’ cause”. That makes them terrorists.

If you’re going to come and say that these videos are proof that PP did something wrong, you better have actual proof - not a bogus video that is dubiously and clearly edited to try and gin up controversy.

There’s nothing there.

Has anyone figured out if Biomax Procurement Service, the “company” that met with PP was a shell operation set up by the freaks for that specific purpose? Their website comes up as “password protected”

biomaxps.com

And is there really a person named Susan Tannenbaum?
Couldn’t find anyone in Norwalk, CA by that name.

Susan Tennenbaum is a passionate patient advocate and entrepreneur with a vision to bridge the gap between routine medical practice and cutting-edge medical research. She has worked in surgical offices and patient advocacy. She founded BioMax Procurement Services to help give patients and providers an opportunity to give back and to connect medical researchers with critical biospecimens.

Sure, it’s a catchy image, but if it’s not actually affiliated with Center For Medical Progress, then, IMHO, you’re wallowing in the same sensationalist crap with CMP, OR, NRA etc.

re: #12 The Vicious Babushka

The Doug Wilson to which he refers is an extreme fundamentalist Presbyterian who moved to the woods of the great white north. I notice he is getting referrals more and more from the previously-not-Presbyterian evangelical crowd, such as Mullah Mohler’s bulldog Denny Burk who has linked to him a couple of times recently.

Wilson is notorious for such efforts as justifying “Biblical” slavery.

Wilson is a wordsmith and attracts a following but his substance is crap or evasive (such as when it comes to modern science.)

He is the classic Van Til disciple, having ruled out anything as possibly true that isn’t already described by the old Presbyterian articles.

If I believed in God, I’d see it as my responsibility to want to protect the Earth for future generations. i already do as a non-believer but if I were to believe that God created this Earth, I would see destroying it in the name of business and industry as an attack on God’s creation. Well this was pretty much his “argument” that he didn’t call Sanders a Nazi. If Kevin and the stupid morons that run the NRO actually researched National Socialism. They’d see that Sanders’ ideology is far from it. Let’s see. A key tent of national socialism is extreme nationalism. That ain’t Bernie. Militarism and mass armament? Again that ain’t Bernie. Oh I get it Kev, you think that just because the Nazis called themselves “National Socialists” and Bernie ids as a “Socialist” that it means they’re one and the same. Gee by that standard, the German Democratic Republic was a democratically republican form of government. I mean I get it NRO. I know you’re feeling a little guilty knowing that Western right wingers were sympathetic to Nazism for a lot of the 30’s and to hide from that you feel the need to blame Nazism on the left but it’s cowardly bullshit. Not enough separation for me to keep watching.

Abortion

Also in June 2013, Kasich received both criticism and praise for signing into effect a bill that included controversial anti-abortion measures such as mandating any woman seeking an abortion to have an ultrasound and cutting funding to Planned Parenthood. Meanwhile, the bill provided funding to crisis pregnancy centers, which do not provide abortion referrals and are often run by religious groups. Further, under this bill, rape crisis centers received funding for the first time in Ohio history, but a requirement instituted by the legislature stated that in order to collect the funds they would not be allowed to inform sexual assault victims about abortion options.[71]

When Kasich first became governor, he was no different than Scott Walker. He just got slapped down harder. Correct me if I am misremembering.

I highly doubt he would be much different than Walker if elected.

He definitely got a huge smackdown

The Ohio Collective Bargaining Limit Repeal appeared on the November 8, 2011 general election ballot in the state of Ohio as a veto referendum. Senate Bill 5 (SB5) was repealed by Ohio voters after a campaign by firefighters, police officers and teachers against the measure

See my #162, He did expand Ohio’s medicaid. That is one difference.

One.

He did. But Walker is now, too, isn’t he? I thought I read that.

IMHO, there isn’t enough space between the pages to separate these two. Kasich just hides it better. Or, rather, he’s smarter than Walker (which is pretty much a given, because Walker is really, really not smart at all).

Yeah I understand what you’re saying. I had that about Bob McDonnell before he exposed himself as corrupt. Definitely do appreciate your insights on him. I am not sure what to make of him yet. He definitely is someone to watch given his position as Governor of a key state alone and former chair of an important House committee though.

Rand Paul pays delinquent property tax bill on the same day he pledges to ‘kill’ the tax code

Read more here: kentucky.com

Meanwhile, records show that Paul, through a company he created, owns a half interest in a condominium in Destin, Fla., that had $2,489 in delinquent property taxes as of Tuesday morning. The original $2,159,14 tax bill on the condo, which has an assessed value of $161,000, was due March 31.

A few hours after the Herald-Leader asked Paul’s presidential campaign about the tax bill, a representative of the Okaloosa County tax collector’s office confirmed that the past-due bill had been paid Tuesday afternoon.

Wilmore is great. He’s been tearing Cosby up from the start. I think he put the rape allegations this way “It’s as if Bill Cosby raped every single U.S president once and then raped (some obscure president forget who he said) twice.” Point being that Cosby doesn’t have one or even ten women accusing him, he’s got over forty. I have to say as someone who wasn’t alive during Cosby’s peak but Good Riddance. I always found him self-righteous as hell when he was talking to other African-Americans. “Let’s see, I can vote for the guy who VP for a Democratic President who balanced the budget and over saw major economic growth;

“or I can vote for the GOP governor who’s cruised on his last name his whole life, but he’s Republicans so he must be good at numbers and defense…”

I can’t tell you the amount of supposedly liberal or independent writing I’ve seen where they all go Obama’s just as bad as Bush. They zero in on the drone/surveillance issues and completely ignore the fact that the guy helped bring us back from the brink of a major depression.

Not that the surveillance issues aren’t worth discussing, but seriously, people. Our unemployment rate is down nearly 3-fucking-percent. The car industry isn’t a smoking ruin. Poor people; sick people; and poor and sick people can get insurance easier now.

So, yeah, President Trump isn’t that hard to imagine. We’ve unfortunately got it in us.

I haven’t been paying attention to this. Was Ms. Pao talking about Reddit or the internetz in general? She’d be right on both counts.

Don’t ever feel bad for speaking the truth.

That’s what makes me want to cry. It’s what *I* have been thinking.

I don’t think Trump could win but it does sadden me since I’m certain that Trump would do better than Walter Mondale and George McGovern did.

I said all along that with the swing voters who only come out for a presidential election, name recognition was the one and only issue. That’s why I said it would be Clinton/Bush. But now with Trump, I don’t know—he’s got at least as much name recognition as Bush. It could wind up Clinton/Trump. My fondest hope is that it winds up Clinton/Bush/Trump. Or maybe even Clinton/Walker (Who?)/Trump.

This is the prediction for edible species.

Which implies evolution pressures will be away from being edible to humans and with ability to tolerate higher temperatures. Pity we won’t see what comes out of that.

One hopes his supporters realize that…but I think not. JMHO.

I didn’t mind Hillary in 2008. I liked John Edwards (may he burn in political hell forever). And I liked Obama. I would have voted for a llama over Palin, though, so it really didn’t matter who got the Dem nod.

I don’t think Hillary ran a very good or smart campaign. I hope she learned from it. We cannot afford any fuckups. The thought of President Trump makes me want to vomit.

I’m still convinced that you and I might have been separated at birth! I also liked Edwards (even voted for him in the primary—shh, don’t tell anyone.) I was also a HUGE Elizabeth fan, and every time somebody was snotty to her, I donated to John. Hate him for being a dick and for doing it to Elizabeth. The worst thing is, his platform was inspiring—even if he didn’t believe it or live it.

I didn’t mind Hillary, but once Edwards showed his true color, I gravitated to Obama, especially when he chose Old Handsome Joe, who I’ve loved forevah.

I would have voted for a tree stump over Palin—wasn’t fond of McCain even before he chose her.

I think Hillary conducted herself well during the Obama general campaign and as SoS, and is stronger now than she was in 08—I truly think she learned a lot from that campaign.

I thought he was Bush’s budget director.
