Breitbart Staffers Tell Buzzfeed Donald Trump Is Paying for Favorable Coverage

Too good to doubt

The far-right propagandists at Breitbart “news” are denying it, of course, but BuzzFeed’s McKay Coppins is reporting that he has sources inside the Breitbart fever swamp telling him Donald Trump is paying them for their non-stop glowing coverage of the rude, crude billionaire.

According to four sources with knowledge of the situation, editors and writers at the outlet have privately complained since at least last year that the company’s top management was allowing Trump to turn Breitbart into his own fan website — using it to hype his political prospects and attack his enemies. One current editor called the water-carrying “despicable” and “embarrassing,” and said he was told by an executive last year that the company had a financial arrangement with Trump. A second Breitbart staffer said he had heard a similar description of the site’s relationship with the billionaire but didn’t know the details; and a third source at the company said he knew of several instances when managers had overruled editors at Trump’s behest. Additionally, a conservative communications operative who works closely with Breitbart described conversations in which “multiple writers and editors” said Trump was paying for the ability to shape coverage, and added that one staffer claimed to have seen documentation of the “pay for play.”

All four sources spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to jeopardize their jobs; and none knew exactly how Trump’s alleged arrangement with the privately held company worked.

After years of dealing with Breitbart’s horrible sleazeballs, I can find within myself no surprise or even skepticism that they’d do something like this; these right wing “journalists” have no sense of ethics whatsoever, and they’d take money from someone like Trump in a heartbeat.

What’s interesting though, is the news that there are staffers who are apparently so disgruntled with Breitbart’s sleazy business practices that they’d leak damaging information like this to BuzzFeed. All is not well at the hate site that Andrew built.

How surprising…..NOT.

Unfortunately, the rubes and slackjawed mouthbreaters haven’t figured it out that Trump is in the only for himself. Putin would eat him for lunch and floss his teeth using Trump’s bones, and notice how Trump has been so radio silent on Israel.

Wouldn’t surprise, considering the cretins Breitbart employs.

Now if he snagged the Takimag crew, well, then it’s turn out the lights time as the vertically challenged lady approaches the stage.

A somewhat similar fracas occurred with one of the founders/big dogs of CATO passed away, and there was a shitstorm as to whether or not the estate was forced to sell their equity investment back to CATO or not.

I got no polite words.
Not. A. Single. One.

A Florida police officer received an earful from a disabled veteran after harassing him for parking in a handicap spot in front of a Walgreen’s store, despite the fact that the veteran had a handicap sticker in his window.

In the video — uploaded to Facebook — the veteran identifies himself as Isiah James and goes off on an expletive-filled tirade against the officer. He explains that he received multiple wounds after serving three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and being blown up eight times by “motherf*cking IEDs.”

Things turn even more contentious after the officer, identified as G. Wilson, smacks the camera out of the veteran’s hand — cracking the screen — and causing James to call for another officer saying Wilson is “out of control.”

“Officer, I’m a damned disabled veteran,” James explains to the Riviera Beach officer.

“Does that make you any better than a citizen or an old lady in a wheelchair that really needs that place? I’m just saying, you’re walking. You’re walking,” Officer Wilson said. “A U.S. citizen is a U.S. citizen. So what makes you any better than an old lady that can’t walk?”

Another officer appears on the scene as James, once again, explains that he has screws and pins in his leg and that he had to go through the Veteran Affairs office and the Department of Motor Vehicles to get his handicap sticker because he has a legitimate disability.

A trapped Wilson continues to insist that the disabled veteran is still in the wrong while denying he broke his phone when he smacked it out of his hand.

Feel a little sad. On the last day of school senior year, I and the others in my government class wrote letters to ourselves 10 years from then (this year). A classmate asked for the addresses of students and two of the names on the list who were in the same government teacher’s class. Two of those guys have since passed on. One of whom was a friend I had known before even elementary school and the other was in the class with me and died not even a year after graduation. Makes me sad thinking about how we’ve lost three people already (Granted a big class) but we’re all only 28 years old.

I’m 64 and it never gets any easier. The only good thing is you are still here to bitch moan and complain. And take a few minutes every once in a while to think what has passed. I just lost a good friend, a musician, who we had put together a bar band with. Fell into it, and it was going to work. Knew him about 8 months. We were going to play our first set at a festival this upcoming weekend. We practiced the 9th of July, I went to Colorado and on the 11th learned that he was found dead by his one son. He was 48. It hit me hard. Real hard. I count my blessings as best I can.

It’s just so sudden. And they obviously only do increase with age and as time goes on. Hard not to think about my friend as a kid. We lost another classmate just a month or so back. I wasn’t particularly close with the guy but I had shop with him in seventh grade. It just breaks your heart. Obviously dying is part of life but that doesn’t make it easier.

I’ve seen much and lost my mother and father young. Lost friends to war and drugs and themselves. I used to joke that getting old was like your waterproofing wearing off. Like water off a ducks back, but time takes that away and now it sinks in and soaks you to the bones. I’m still shook by this loss. Time will pass and all will be as it will be. Some stay with you and others fade into memory. Some of the hardest losses in my life after a short period of time were manageable because I was young, I was busy with life, and I kept walking. Forward. Tomorrow. If you sit, you get run over. I almost died a few times and what I took from that was a calmness I never knew I had. I hope I still have that at the end of my road. Likely GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump soars in new PPP poll.

Donald Trump’s lead over his Republican presidential rivals grew substantially in the days following the first GOP debate and his controversial comments about moderator Megyn Kelly.

Trump’s support increased by 7 points, to 32 percent, according to the latest Morning Consult tracking poll.

The real estate mogul’s closest rival — former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — lost 1 point, down to 11 percent support among self-identified Republicans and Republican-leaning independents.

Support for all other candidates was in the single digits in the poll.

exactly.
One of my younger sisters is recovering from an emergency triple bypass and her heart has been irreparably damaged due to many previously untreated heart attacks.
My son needs a heart and liver transplant (and is also recovering from a TBI that occurred last summer) and his wife has a congenital heart defect.
My son’s disabilities are obvious because he requires a walker. My sister and dil look OK at first glance.
If any cop would even DARE question their handicap plaque/sticker I would go off on such an epic rant.
But they are white, so no cop would have reacted like the one in Florida.

Former FBI agent John Guandolo is planning to be in Denver, Colo., this week for three training sessions for law enforcement, legislators, clergy and members of the general public — all guaranteed to understand the skills to “combat” the jihadi threat “at the local level.”

But if Guandolo’s previous comments on Islam and strong ties to anti-Muslim groups are any indication, are sure to be steeped in conjured worries and fear mongering anti-Muslim rhetoric. Let’s remember, Guandolo once claimed American Muslims “do not have a First Amendment right to do anything.”

Billed as “Understanding the Threat” and “A One-Of-A-Kind Training Event,” Guandolo plans to host the trainings at the Centennial Gun Club to be held Aug. 13-15.

Since his dismissal from the FBI for a number of ethical breaches and bizarre conduct, Guandolo has devoted himself a rabid brand of anti-Muslim activism, working closely with some of the most powerful and influential anti-Muslim groups in the U.S., on what has amounted to a flurry of accusations against government officials Guandolo says have ties to terrorist organizations.

I honestly thought that Trump’s attacks on McCain would do him in. I get that McCain isn’t beloved with the base but attacking a POW especially by a guy like Trump who didn’t serve I thought would be a bridge too far for GOP voters. I guess not. It’s funny because outside of Mexican-Americans, I don’t like any of the people Trump has attacked but his comments on McCain were indefensible and his comments on Kelly equally so.

Charles P. Pierce:

“…One entire political party has become completely unmoored from reality. This was amply demonstrated on Thursday night in Cleveland. The Republican party held two debates in which one candidate explained about how the EPA should be reduced in size and influence only to the point at which he could sic it on Planned Parenthood. Another candidate proposed biblical tithing as a mechanism for that plutocrat’s friend, the flat tax. Two candidates proposed giving Zygote-Americans Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights. It was downright remarkable how unremarkable these lunatic propositions seemed to be. All the attention centered on whether or not a ferret-headed plutocrat was mean to the nice lady from Fox who believes that Santa Claus is white.”

sooner or later the habitual reality rejectors in the gop will figure out that if they let him stay trump will win the primaries and have to be nominated

The problem for them with that is they can’t really decide which of the 16 not-Trump should be their choice.

In some ways that’s why Romney won the nomination last time. Romney was number 2 (at best) for the majority, but that majority splintered on several favorites. Romney’s steady accumulation was sufficient to win it all.

That knowledge has got to be high on the concern list of a lot of GOP members.

The FBI keeps a large database of DNA tests.

If one is not yet arraigned I don’t know if the DNA can be tested. It is if you are a convict. It is if needed for a trial. Then there is a large number of yet-to-be-tested samples. I suspect that the US Marshals, as agents of the Court, simply stores the swabs for the court and await orders.

Simplistically, it’s been ruled to be the same risk/reward as fingerprinting. Rightly or wrongly, once arrested your fingerprints/DNA can be gathered and checked against the criminal database - crimes solved and unsolved - to see if there’s a match.

That said this is not yet true in all 50 states. But this is federal, and so it applies.

Moviegoers fearing chainsaw attack escape Newport Beach theater

Moviegoers in Newport Beach ran from what they thought was a chainsaw-wielding attacker after a small group burst into a crowded theater and revved the motor of a leaf blower, police said Monday.

A few patrons were trampled as panicked viewers fled a showing of “The Gift” at Edwards Big Newport 6 shortly before 11 p.m. on Saturday, Newport Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella said. No major injuries were reported, she said.

Some in the audience thought the theater was being stormed by a gunman, police said.

Investigators believe two or three men in their late teens to early 30s intended to scare moviegoers, Manzella said. “It appears they were trying to lead people to believe there was a weapon,” she said.

#85 Skip Intro

Billionaire Needs Your Money

Dear Friend,

Are you ready to Make America Great Again?

Since I announced my candidacy for the Republican nomination for president I have soared to first place in the polls, defying the mainstream media and the GOP establishment.

I am rising in the polls because of you — and the fact that I am offering the American people an alternative to the inept career politicians who talk big but never produce results.

I have a long track record of producing big results. Very big results.

Frankly, I am running for president because I hate seeing what is happening to America — the country I love so much.

I am sick and tired of China and Mexico and all other countries beating us at the negotiating table — getting one-sided trade deals from Washington officials.

They have been letting these countries rip off our jobs, killing our potential for economic growth.

Let’s face it, America is in deep trouble.

We are a laughingstock around the globe as our incompetent leaders like Obama and Hillary Clinton get outmaneuvered.

Our economy is a disaster. (Yet the stock market is in record territory again)

I think the American people are ready for some hard truths.

You know I call it the way I see it.

Thanks to Obama, the American dream is dead.

But I can bring it back — bigger and better and stronger than ever before. (He can resurrect the dead?)

Weeks ago the political establishment went crazy when I pointed out the fact that some illegal aliens from Mexico, being pushed into our country by the Mexican government, are bringing crime, drugs and murder to the United States.

The media tried to smear me, claiming I was “racist” and that I attacked the Mexican people.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I forced the media to focus on a number of horrific crimes in which U.S. citizens were killed by illegal immigrants who got into the country because our borders are so porous practically anyone can walk into the United States.

In the face of this media onslaught, my poll numbers actually went up.

I even pulled well ahead of Jeb Bush, the supposed “front-runner.”

Bush is a weak and ineffective leader who would merely preside over the continued decline of this country. If he gets the nomination, we lose in 2016.

I am very critical of John McCain’s record in the U.S. Senate. He has done little to help veterans.

John McCain has been in the Senate for 30 years and worked closely with Senator Bernie Sanders to pass legislation to ensure that no one was held responsible for the scandal at Obama’s Veterans Administration, in which over 1,000 of our veterans died waiting for medical care.

Ironically many of these veterans died in the VA hospital in Phoenix, Arizona — McCain’s home state!

It’s just like Benghazi — incompetent and pathetic officials screw up, then Americans die … and no one in Washington is held responsible.

My concern is for all those men and women who served this country.(Sure it is)

As president, I would build the finest Veterans Hospital system in the world where our veterans would have universal access — and I will do it for far less in tax dollars than we are spending now on our disgraceful broken Veterans Administration health care system.

The political establishment is in shock over the way I have taken the lead in the presidential race — and they are scared to death.

I am not afraid — I know Americans like you are with me.

Because my campaign will be funded mostly with my own money, the Washington insiders know that the lobbyists and special interests will have no influence in a Trump administration.

The special interests know you can’t “buy” me.

As I have traveled across the country I have met thousands of Americans who want to join our crusade. Actually, some people are calling it a movement.

The media, however, wants to claim that I have no grass-roots support.

I want to prove them wrong. I am asking you to stand with me and join with me today.

I believe so much in this campaign and that we can Make America Great Again, that I will match dollar-for-dollar every dollar donated by people like you.

If you will send a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more I will personally match whatever gift you give.

If you can send $500, $1,000 or more, I will also match that.

Show your support by Going Here Now.

I want to show the liberal media that not since the days of Ronald Reagan has there been such a grass-roots movement of people ready to transform our party and our country.

My #1 goal is to create the greatest economic boom in American history, to unleash the incredible spirit of free enterprise in this country — get America moving again!

I have been tremendously blessed in this country.

I want all American families to share in the great economic opportunities this country offers.

I am very rich and I created something very special.

I want to make you and the American people rich.

I have no doubt the liberal media and the GOP establishment will continue to attack me.

But, make no mistake, I will never back down or apologize in the fight to make America great again.

Stand with me today and send a powerful message to the establishment by supporting my campaign.

Please rush me your answer today — Going Here Now.

Sincerely

Donald J. Trump

P.S. I so strongly believe in what I am doing that I am willing to match every dollar you contribute to my campaign. Jeb Bush just raised over $100 million from Washington insiders. His donors are not donating to me because they can’t own me. Show America you want to join me in taking back Washington — Go Here Now.
Paid for by Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.

there can be one, and only one, possible theme song for his campaign.

C’est Moi

C’est moi! C’est moi, I’m forced to admit.
‘Tis I, I humbly reply.
That mortal who
These marvels can do,
C’est moi, c’est moi, ‘tis I.
I’ve never lost
In battle or game;
I’m simply the best by far.
When swords are crossed
‘Tis always the same:
One blow and au revoir!
C’est moi! C’est moi! So adm’rably fit!
A French Prometheus unbound.
And here I stand, with valour untold,
Exeption’ly brave, amazingly bold
To serve at the Table Round!

…C’est moi! C’est moi, I blush to disclose.
I’m far too noble to lie.
That man in whom
These qualities bloom,
C’est moi, c’est moi, ‘tis I.
I’ve never strayed
From all I believe;
I’m blessed with an iron will.
Had I been made
The partner of Eve,
We’d be in Eden still.
C’est moi! C’est moi! The angels have chose
To fight their battles below,
And here I stand, as pure as a pray’r,
Incredibly clean, with virtue to spare,
The godliest man I know!
C’est moi!

Possibly and art car. But look at the decal on the driver’s door. Looks like some type of Possie Comatas or Citizens on Patrol emblem. I still think those cans are gas cans because with the weight on-board he probably gets 1-2 mpg.

Couldn’t find an enlarged decal. If it’s his real SHTF ride, he’s not going to be a problem.

RealityBasedSteve  Aug 10, 2015 • 8:30:25pm

Well, I’m off to bed. Hopefully HostGator will get my email straightened out. 5 minutes from clicking “Send” to it arriving is unacceptable. Especially since it’s sitting exactly 5 minutes on an intermediate server before being passed out their gateway. I’ve sent their support people annotated copies of header files showing just what is happening, spent an hour in chat with them, not feeling good about this. I may just end up going to another hosting company if they can’t get it straight.

The ‘Tech Support” chat line was useless…. yes, I do think I have the right user name and password configured in my email client, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have been able to send the f-ing email to get the headers to demonstrate what the problem is. ARGH… it’s been over 24 hours and all they say is “Our Administrators are working on tickets in the order received.”

I’ve posted the particulars to a number of experienced admins I know, hoping to get more feedback from them.

To the best of my knowledge, and it’s nothing that is showing up in my cPanel, I’ve not configured it to do any kind of “anti-virus” or “anti-spam” filtering, especially on outbound mail.

Any tips from the lizards?

The language makes sure that the power stays inside the group that uses it and guarantees that the great unwashed will be dependent on the intervention of the enlightened to gain any access at all to God (computer).

In the mid to late 80’s I used Unix, LispM’s, VMS & IBM (batch only) and while the LispM’s were cool, the AI Winter took care of them. IBM is the real home of the priesthood. VMS is probably the most fascinating OS I ever used but there’s little a home user can do with it. Unix had it’s foibles growing out of a desire to port a video game to a computer too small to run it and then building a text processing engine on top of those foibles to make the bosses happy with their investment of time, machines & money. But as the Russians put it, Perfect is the enemy of good enough. Unix was, and is, good enough.

Xenix 2.3.5, Minix 1.x, Linux .98 … those were the good days. Technologically better and much more interesting socially than anything else coming out of Redmond. OS/2 had it’s moments and even NT wasn’t too bad before Cutler got shunted aside and graphics drivers got zero ring privilages…

I’m following the aftermath of the IKEA stabbings in Västerås in various fora frequented by right-wing elements this side of the pond.
They’re having a field day and all are all over the place.
Like, did you know this was a bona fide IS attack and the government is covering it up? Yeah, really, that’s how delusional they are here.
Not to mention the slurs used, makes me sick to my stomach.

Interesting idea. The muzzle blast would raise hell with the skin of that aircraft. It is, IIRC, 1/16’ 2024 aluminum sheet on that part of the fuselage. They had a 20mm centerline-mounted cannon pod for the Bronco and the muzzle blast from it, even with a blast diffuser, was enough to ruin the skin. We had to hand make and fit 1/4” thick aluminum panels on the aircraft that used the 20mm.

The normal loadout for our Broncos was 24 Zunis; four four-shot pods under the fuselage and a two-shot pod under each wing outboard of the prop arc. They also loaded the four electrically fired 7.62mm machine guns in the sponsons. Depending, we would also hang four 19-shot pods loaded with 2.75” heavy FFARs and Zunis under the wings. We were fond of the 19-shot pods because they were very close to the proportions of a tall beer can and so we painted them as such.
