The Feud Between Donald Trump and Fox News Is Flaring Up Again

“Crude and irresponsible”
Politics • Views: 53,417

To no one’s surprise, Donald Trump is still attacking Fox News host Megyn Kelly with some really creepy misogynistic tweets, and Roger Ailes seems ready to call off that “truce” they made: Roger Ailes: Donald Trump Should Apologize to Megyn Kelly.

On Tuesday, Fox News Chief Roger Ailes said in a statement Donald Trump should apologize for a tirade of tweets aimed at Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

“Donald Trump’s surprise and unprovoked attack on Megyn Kelly during her show last night is as unacceptable as it is disturbing. Megyn Kelly represents the very best of American journalism and all of us at Fox News Channel reject the crude and irresponsible attempts to suggest otherwise,” Ailes statement reads. “I could not be more proud of Megyn for her professionalism and class in the face of all of Mr. Trump’s verbal assaults. Her questioning of Mr. Trump at the debate was tough but fair, and I fully support her as she continues to ask the probing and challenging questions that all presidential candidates may find difficult to answer,” Ailes said. “Donald Trump rarely apologizes, although in this case, he should. We have never been deterred by politicians or anyone else attacking us for doing our job, much less allowed ourselves to be bullied by anyone and we’re certainly not going to start now. All of our journalists will continue to report in the fair and balanced way that has made FOX News Channel the number one news network in the industry.”

Late Monday night Trump tweeted several times about Kelly, who had just returned to hosting after a vacation, writing that he “liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly. Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!”

Trump also tweeted that Kelly was “really off her game” and retweeted a tweet that called Kelly a “bimbo.”

Of course, this could all be kabuki theater, staged to keep pumping up the hateful right wing base Trump’s appealing to. Fox News and Donald Trump are certainly capable of something like that.

Capable, yes but I think Trump really thinks this way and how dare anyone question his personal greatness.

That Trump person thinks his money will buy all of the votes he needs to get into the White House. He does not understand politics and he not understand government. Go back to school and try to actually learn something instead of buying it.

We all know how vindictive that jackass is. Maybe he just backed off until he came up with a trump card, so to speak.

Trump’s reigniting the fight with Megyn Kelly is the best news they’ve had in a few weeks. She’s willing to knock him down a peg for them, so I don’t see the long term benefit of this strategy, but hey, I’m just happy I don’t have Trump’s mind.

Oh, I completely agree! He is definitely the dick they want. The pretzel logic conservatives use to support Trump rivals anything Schneider’s could come up with.

My point was that Kelly wasn’t any harder on Trump during the debate than she was on any of the other candidates standing on that stage, yet Trump continues to be all butthurt all the time with continual whining and complaining.

I actually totally disagree with this. Fox was out for Trump in that debate…..

They asked him about his “sexist” remarks — totally fair game. But they could have asked Chris Christie nearly the exact same question about his interactions with voters. While not sexist, definitely showed a disdain for voters

The “When did you become a Republican” question? They could have asked nearly the same question to Rubio about immigration, or Jeb or Christie about Common Core.

They were out to get Trump —- and it backfired spectacularly

Perhaps you’re right and I will amend what I said to; Fox did ask loaded questions of all the candidates. Kelly hit every candidate with something that could be a Bite You On The Ass question (TBH, I thought the reason they did that was to get it out and over with so it wouldn’t bite them on the ass later in the election cycle). Yet Trump continues to be the only one who is going on and on about it.

They just don’t know what to do. They thought they were getting into a presidential campaign which has clear rules of conduct and well-known strategies for winning. Now, they find that instead they are contestants in a reality tv show starring Donald Trump, and all of the rules have been thrown out the window. That’s how you have Walker taking three different positions on citizenship in a matter of days, and Jeb trying to sound Trump-like talking about “anchor babies”, then proceeding to insult both Hispanics and Asians as he babbles incoherently. I know I should be “concerned” about Trump, but I am just enjoying his show too much; he has thrown the GOP race into complete and utter turmoil.

It’s the same idea behind the constant harping from the right on the “leftist media”. Nowadays the media ties itself in knots trying to be even handed whenever there appears to be a political context to anything no matter how simple and or factually checkable a question is. By banging on about Fox etc. Trump reinforces the idea among his supporters that “those people”, whoever that happens to be, are against him and that they shouldn’t believe what they say.

It’s interesting, he’s trying to create an echo chamber inside another echo chamber.

re: #73 mr.fusion

Hey, do you guys remember when Obama was too egotistical for the job of President because he used the pronouns “I,” “Me,” and “My” too much?

Like when The Economist, Fox News, and that great conservative intellectual Charles Krauthammer criticized him for using those pronouns too much?

Remember when Obama was a “narcissist” and that was an insult for someone who wanted to be President?

Why aren’t we hearing that same criticism now about Trump? Liberal media bias I suppose

Seriously this is a guy who actually has bragged about his looks and his money but nope no “Dr Krauthammer” or Ablow to pronounce him a narcissist.

Because a white guy can’t be uppity, which is what they obviously really mean when they call Obama a narcissist.
