It’s just the latest example of the shockingly overt bigotry and Christian supremacism that’s the main theme of the Republican Party in this presidential election, as Ben Carson goes on Meet the Press and says a Muslim should never be president.

Republicans used to use weasel language to avoid answering questions like this, but in the Age of the Trumpenstein they’re just letting their nativist hatred hang out in public. And they’re comfortable doing this because they know the GOP voting base is loving it.

But don’t take my word for it. Let’s check out what the Republican voting base is saying about these statements by Carson in the Breitbart “News” comment section.
