Utterly Deranged Breitbart “News” Post of the Day: Pope Francis Is “Condemning Millions to Unspeakable Misery”

“The devil’s playground here on Earth”
Wingnuts • Views: 51,584

At Breitbart “News” today, we find the following utterly deranged attack on Pope Francis: The Nuclear Option: Pope Francis Threatens Legacy of Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan - Breitbart.

According to this ranting loon, Pope Francis “rebukes” and “scolds” conservatives, calls free-market capitalism “the dung of the devil,” denounces America, promotes “the devil’s playground here on Earth,” denies the power of God, is “woefully out of his depth,” has a “shallow grasp of science” and a “weak grasp of public policy and moral hazard,” and is “condemning millions to unspeakable earthly misery.”

It’s almost unbelievably insane; those are all direct quotes from the post.

And of course, hundreds of even more deranged comments follow as the Breitbart audience reacts like Pavlov’s dogs and spews a deluge of hatred at Pope Francis. Some excerpts from the nauseating flood:

This guy is nothing but a full-blown commie. Period.

[…]

Dumb cluck wacko. At least he is driving away the remaining Catholics with good sense from an absurd religious leadership scam. Sadly, he is attracting enough from Mexico to more than make up for those who are fleeing as we speak.

[…]

From the mouth of a life long commie who has been made the head of a powerful church….boy, you guys in Rome sure can pick em.

[…]

I have no doubt that this pope serves Satan rather he knows it or not.

[…]

Read the Lord’s warnings about the Antichrist and the False Prophet…..

[…]

Thank you for this article. Thank you for Breitbart to teach and inform so cogently. If only the earnest yet naive, confused, simple-minded Pope would READ this article.

[…]

If this guy were Pope instead of John Paul II in the 1980s he would have been reviewing the Red Army from Lenin’s Tomb on Mayday with his arm around Andropov.

[…]

Catholicism is not Christianity.

[…]

Catholicism starts with heresy and goes downhill from there.

[…]

The Peep is here to feast on the Devil’s Dung.

[…]

Reagan was a cuck who gave amnesty to 2 million mud monkeys. Stop worshiping him.

[…]

This Pope is a jerkoff.

[…]

This fool sounds like he might actually be the Anti-Christ…

[…]

This “pope” is a fraud in every regard. The fear that he holds over Catholics is breathtaking. He just like any man or woman will die and go to an eternal hell, if he has not accepted Jesus as Lord. The mere fact these “priests” think they are interceding to God because we don’t have that ability is sad. Then to have a so called pope who rules over the Vatican like a dictator is both revolting and wrong. The very thing this fraud is condemning in Capitalism is the thing that allows him to live in luxury, travel in luxury. Either way, he’s just a man, and will find that out on Judgement Day.

[…]

The old fart’s an anti-Christ. I hope his plane crashes on the way back to Rome.

So, RWNJs have proclaimed themselves…

Able to run the country better than a twice-elected president.

There’s a ton of pseudo-science being pumped out right now by the right to prove beyond doubt that unfettered US-style capitalism is the only thing that enables anyone in the world to have food to eat.

Oh my. This could be entertaining, if proven in court:

The inquiry, according to court records and people with knowledge of the inquiry, involves such a vast number of suspected crimes it is difficult to know where to start. A quick summary of the government’s theory: If there was money, Shkreli took it. If there were facts to be revealed, Shkreli hid them. If there were securities laws, Shkreli broke them.

im currently reading a biography of john d rockefeller, who certainly benefited from the ‘unfettered’ period of american capitalism

far from believing that unrestricted competition would result in the greatest good, he was dead set against competition and believed that by creating a virtual monopoly, he would substitute beneficial “co-operation”. so many other industrialists in that era agreed with him and created their own ‘trusts’/monopolies

which is why we discovered that truly free market competition REQUIRES government intervention to prevent it from turning into monopoly capitalism

You know, I’d forgotten just how much the mainstream media seem to hate the Clintons. I was reading this article in the WashPost about how Clinton’s account of why she turned over the emails to State differed from State’s account, and what struck me was that it was complete bullshit.

Clinton has said her team reviewed and turned over emails in response to a request from State to the last 4 SoS’s.

WashPosts’s big discrepancy? a few months before they contacted her to ask for the emails, “State Department officials contacted her representatives during the summer of 2014 to learn more about her email use and the status of emails in that account.”

Not to ask for the emails. To learn more about her email use and the status of the emails.

There’s no discrepancy. State isn’t saying they asked for the emails then. The WashPost is implying it, despite their own article not supporting that claim.

I’d forgotten just how shameless they all were in shading their language, crafting their headlines, etc. to cast as dark a shadow as possible without QUITE lying. It’s gonna be a long 14 months.

The major purpose of writing articles that denounce the Pope’s positions on important issues is to protect the wealth of the one and two percent. Many of one and two percenters feel so threatened by his concern for the less fortunate that they’re finally letting their real feelings about the less fortunate show. I look at this as a very good thing. It’s past the time that they were exposed as the greed b*st*rds they are beneath the charming fronts they present to the public.

More from Eichwald’s article on Pharambro’s troubles:

Under Shkreli, Retrophin was highly dysfunctional; in fact, it was informed by its accountants, Marcum LLP, that it had not established appropriate procedures for ensuring its filings to the S.E.C. were accurate, a fact that could easily lead to misreporting of the company’s true financial dealings with its own executives. In a government filing on November 2013, Retrophin reported, “our independent auditors advised management that a material weakness existed in internal control over financial reporting and our disclosure controls.”

That only grew worse. On March 31, 2014, Retrophin reported in a government filing that its controls were not enough to ensure that information required to be disclosed was properly reported and had experienced difficulty in following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Moreover, it reported, its controls were weakened by the fact that there was not sufficient segregation of duties among its senior officers.

Throughout the time that the data obtained by the government suggests Shkreli was engaging in significant and undisclosed self-dealing, he was aggressively selling Retrophin stock. For example, on May 29, 2014, Shkreli posted extremely bullish messages on the Internet, which he called “non-non-non-GAAP guidance,” and proclaimed on Twitter, without explanation, “this is one of the best days of my life.” The next day, he unloaded 292,400 shares of Retrophin, earning about $4.5 million in profits. Then, the day after, Retrophin revealed the magnitude of its problem with its internal controls and accounting, a fact that, as an insider and the top executive, Shkreli would almost certainly have known when he sold his stock 24-hours before. Around that time, Retrophin terminated its accounting firm that kept delivering the bad news about the company’s controls.

Even Turing is wrapped up in the case. While working as Retrophin’s CEO, Shkreli had a legal duty to act solely in the interest of the company shareholders, but he raised money from investors for Turing. Shkreli was tossed out of Retrophin in September 2014 amid allegations of a variety of wrongdoings. The next month, he was running Turing—the company he had financed while running Retrophin—and began raiding his former company for employees.

In recent years brain oscillations have become an intense focus of research by Voytek and others seeking to discover any functional roles they might play. Emerging evidence suggests that oscillations might prime nerve circuits to respond more efficiently to stimuli.

“Imagine that individual neurons are like surfers,” Voytek said. “Nearby surfers experience the same waves, which are like the oscillations linking neurons in the brain. But like noise, additional interfering factors often disrupt the perfect wave at different times and different spots along the beach.”

[…]

So it’s high tide in my head and I’m just trying to catch a wave.

Clinton went up in the polls, so it’s time to put a stop to that. Here is Chuck Todd, hell bent on ruining MSNBC.

He and Mark Murray wrote this today:

Since she apologized for having a personal email system, Hillary Clinton has had a pretty good last two weeks. She’s talked policy on health care; she’s racked up key endorsements; she’s had a long, serious conversation with the Des Moines Register’s editorial board; and she’s had fun on “Ellen” and Jimmy Fallon. So it looked like she was turning the corner - until new stories surfaced about her email system.

Here’s The Washington Post, calling into question her initial explanation why she turned over her emails: “Throughout the controversy over her use of a private e-mail system while she was secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton has described her decision last year to turn over thousands of work-related e-mails as a response to a routine-sounding records request… They said the request was not simply about general record-keeping but was prompted entirely by the discovery that Clinton had exclusively used a private e-mail system.” And here’s Bloomberg: “The FBI has recovered personal and work-related e-mails from the private computer server used by Hillary Clinton during her time as secretary of state, according to a person familiar with the investigation.”

msnbc.com

They cite this Washington Post article from yesterday:

washingtonpost.com

Turns out it’s all recycled news that’s already been discovered and made to look bad for Clinton.

‘corporatism’ is a peculiar choice - i first ran across the term in a biography of mussolini, where it unexpectedly referred to an economic system where all elements of an industry, that is from the workers on up to the top management, are encouraged to work ‘together’ and feel part of a big happy family

in other words, the workers are told to shut up and do what management tells them to do - a really fascist view of how worker/management relations are supposed to work

How Musicians Get Screwed, Example 3,214:

A Tuesday copyright roundtable discussion, hosted by Nashville’s Belmont University and led by the House Judiciary Committee, opened with one of the past year’s most successful songwriters announcing just how little money he’d made from over 178 million streams of a song he co-wrote: $5,679.

That means Nashville songwriter Kevin Kadine, the co-writer of the hit 2014 Megan Trainor song “All About That Bass,” made close to $31.90 for every million streams. According to a report by The Tenneseean, Kadine didn’t clarify to the roundtable’s five members of the House of Representatives exactly how the songwriting proceeds were split between himself and Trainor (who shared songwriting credits on “Bass”), but he did allege that the average streaming-service payout for a song’s songwriting team is roughly $90 per million streams.

“That’s as big a song as a songwriter can have in their career, and number one in 78 countries,” Kadine said. “But you’re making $5,600. How do you feed your family?”

The reason Kadine and other songwriters were complaining to members of Congress, as opposed to representatives from either music labels or streaming services, is because American songwriters are paid per play through what’s known as a “mechanical license”—a term derived from all the way back in 1911, when songwriters’ works were distributed in the United States via piano rolls. The funny thing about a mechanical license is streaming music services do not have to negotiate with songwriters over what that per-play fee should be. That rate, according to American copyright law, is chosen by the US Government. (This is a different issue than the kinds of negotiations performing artists

It is interesting that Netanyahu addresses Congress and wants to hold off on the Iran deal and deal tough with Iran and the rest of the M.E. Then the Pope comes and addresses Congress and there is a decent chance he mentions he supports the Iran deal along with upsetting them with climate and economic disparity.

Seems a bit unprecedented for Congress in the same year. That much global politics on focused on the same topic. It’s good stuff.

I have a love-hate relationship with CATO. The work they do on behalf on individuals with amicus briefs when the government clearly oversteps the bounds is good stuff, but some of their stuff when it comes to business is so over-the-top bass-ackwards its nuts. When you have a so-called CATO banking ‘expert’ who never worked one day in his life in a bank but was an aide to a House/Senate Banking member criticize banking legislation? That’s laughable.

As far as the CATO banking experts go, there’s an old Sufi saying: “He who tastes, knows.”

And in the “Probably didn’t sound nearly as bad in the original German” Category. Pat “Too Evil to Die” Buchanan says that Kim Davis is right, just like he was right when he advised Nixon to defy the ‘71 Supreme Court decision implementing school bussing….

Buchanan added that he himself had advocated civil disobedience when he urged President Nixon to defy a 1971 Supreme Court decision that “called for district-wide desegregation and allowed for the use of busing to achieve integration.”

“I think that [Davis] did the right thing,” Buchanan said, “she defied the law and went to jail and paid the price, that’s the price of civil disobedience of an unjust law. But I do believe this. When I was in the Nixon White House, I urged the president to defy court orders mandating court-ordered busing from counties into cities, which were tearing apart cities and towns, defy the court and work with the Congress of the United States to really circumscribe the jurisdiction of the court under … Article III, Section II of the Constitution. re: #148 dog philosopher ஐஒஔ௸

‘corporatism’ is a peculiar choice - i first ran across the term in a biography of mussolini, where it unexpectedly referred to an economic system where all elements of an industry, that is from the workers on up to the top management, are encouraged to work ‘together’ and feel part of a big happy family

in other words, the workers are told to shut up and do what management tells them to do - a really fascist view of how worker/management relations are supposed to work

given, that, i’d take ‘capitalism’ over ‘corporatism’ any day…

The “Corporate State” is another term for Fascism. The heads of the most important corporations are officers of the government. As opposed to Communism, where officers of the government head the most important corporations.

This is why they say the political scale is a wrap-around deal.

God damn. What a prick.

I found the reasoning he gave to be rather interesting:

“I’m disappointed if someone says, ‘I’m a Christian,’ but you invite the pope into your home and then you invite a whole bunch of people who are at odds with the Catholic Church policy. I think there’s something very unseemly about that,” he added.

Unseemly to act like an actual leader of a free nation?

Argentina and especially neighboring Chile prove that “free markets” = “free people” is a lie. CATO also lives under the lie that we’ve been a truly capitalist economy too.

Neither country’s economy has ever really even come close to qualifying as free market either, as Chile has nationalized ownership of almost all mines and mining activity, and Argentina has re-nationalized control of it’s largest oil company YPF after a failed bid at privatization.

seriously, though, in historical fascist states like italy and germany, corporations were left intact and mollified with huge government contracts. mussolini was somewhat different than hitler in that he actively carried out the will of corporate magnates

in stalinist, maoist and cuban socialist style fascism, the corporations were taken from their private owners and run by the government
