Video: Ben Carson Rants at the Press, Recites a Litany of Anti-Obama Conspiracy Theories

This press conference was the most awake I’ve seen Ben Carson in…. well, ever. I half expected him to pull out a hammer and go after that guy on his left who kept asking him the uncomfortable questions.

Don’t miss the section where he runs through a selection of choice anti-Obama conspiracy theories — Frank Marshall Davis, Bernadine Dohrn, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, sealed college records, etc. — in a voice that keeps getting higher and more querulous, like a child throwing a tantrum.

But the best part is when he says, “I don’t remember this level of scrutiny for one President Barack Obama, when he was running.”

Please! He can’t be serious. No scrutiny for Barack Obama? The media went through every aspect of Obama’s past over and over and over. This is nothing but pure pandering to the wingnut base of Republican voters.

“Other than everything I just mentioned, nothing was brought up about Obama!”

I can’t believe that President Obama made Dr. Ben lie in his book like that.

Wait until Trump starts investigating him. He will have his best people on it.

Tell me how there is equivalency there… Tell me how there is equivalency there… Tell me how there is equivalency there… Tell me how there is equivalency there…

Apparently the MBF didn’t hear his prayers and come down and rescue him.

Cynical Steve says he goes up 5 points in the polls.

He really doesn’t come off well in this press conference at all. He looks like he’s cracking under the pressure.

Wow. Ben Carson is a guy spouting off World Nut Daily’s talking points for the last eight years in front of the press in this video. Incredible.

Carson is starting to remind me of Romano on ER whenever Romano was shown up by somebody.

(The comparison is even better because Romano was a homophobic asshole too.)

Check your settings. I’ve got Lindsey Vonn in a bikini, Rachel Burks in what appears to be a sheer body stocking, and Lynsey Dyer with nothing more than a strategically placed set of ski boots.

“Smartest Guy in the Room Syndrome,” he’s used to people deferring to him and his wisdom because of the white lab coat. Now that he’s under scrutiny because he’s no longer the only guy in the room, you’re going to see more and more of these outbursts as people call bullshit.

5 bucks says that Trump will take advantage of this at the next debate on the 10th (I believe). He’s going to try and crack him like an egg.

Here’s Ben Carson at the press conference about Ben Carson telling the media “not to change the subject” by asking why they didn’t investigate Obama more fully.

Just as soon as he recalls them back from the search for Obama’s birth certificate in Hawaii…

Frank Marshall Davis. Bernadine Dorhn. Bill Ayers. Jeremiah Wright. Why are his academic records sealed???

I’m genuinely gobsmacked. I remember the 2008 campaign very well. Obama gave a goddamned speech throwing Wright under the bus because that’s all people were talking about at that stage in the campaign. Fox News absolutely hammered every one of those talking points to death. Obama still won the election. And got re-elected.

And now we have one of the front-runners of the Republican Party pooh-pooh-ing those same tired talking points. It’s weird, really.

They seem like they’re running against Barack Obama in this election. Newsflash, Obama leaves office on 20 January 2009.

I don’t know, man. It’s the fucking Twilight Zone out there.

jaunte  Nov 6, 2015 • 5:51:54pm

“I want you to ask Hillary Clinton the same questions you ask me,” Carson challenged Camerota, insisting the network press the former secretary of state about Benghazi. “Will you do that? Promise you’re going to do that? We’re waiting.”

Because no one has had a change to ask Hillary anything.

24
gocart mozart  Nov 6, 2015 • 5:52:53pm

Why didn’t anyone ask him if he would release his college transcripts? Why won’t Ben Carson release his college transcripts! What is FERPA? registrar.psu.edu

Who is Jeremiah Wright, I have never heard of him because the media has never mentioned him but if Ben is agreeing to put his pastors religious/political beliefs into play, I say bring it on.

Frank Marshal Davis! I know who he is referring to because Obama mentions him (under an alias) in his book “Dreams From My Father” not written by Bill Ayers: a poet retired in Hawaii who knew Obama’s grandfather and who was a leftist (Ooooh!) Obama mentions discussions he had with him about race relations a couple of times over beers. (That Bastard)

Fuck Ben Carson with a rusty chainsaw twice. Sideways.

Ok wingnuts, if you want to get a pass on Ben Carson’s BS then demand that Brian Williams, Dan Rather and Rachel Dolezal get their jobs back first.

It’s more than that. He’s lived in a right wing bubble for so long, an endless echo chamber, his every word treated like gospel, thus confirming his own warped concept of reality, he just can’t bear it when the real world intrudes. Being questioned poses an existential threat to him. His whole worldview is under attack.

Obama had to make an entire speech telling people why he went to the church he went to.

Holy cow, what a reminder of how this half-asleep mumbling crazy person creeps me the hell out on a very deep and fundamental level.

“Other than everything I just mentioned, nothing was brought up about Obama!”

Everybody knows that real investigations only find evidence of guilt.

Since evidence of guilt was not found, the only explanation is there wasn’t a real investigation.

But seriously…this is a trend with US reactionaries: PP videos, Obama conspiracy theories, Benghazi.

We should be freaked out.

Right. Believing in Carson and everything he stands for is an article of faith for a lot of his followers and you know what happens when you start questioning people’s faith.

Our founding fathers did a good thing by writing down that religious zealots were not welcome to take over this country, i just wish that more people could understand their nuance.

Targetpractice  Nov 6, 2015 • 6:00:26pm

See, right now he can get away with this shit because the base will cheer him on in his fight with the “librul media.” But in six months, if he’s got the nomination, then it is rapidly going to replace his “quiet, well-spoken” facade. Not a lot of people outside the wingnut ranks are gonna want a guy at the podium who froths at the first sign of disagreement from the plebes.

Which will bring the wingnuts into his defense all the more, since there is nothing like seeing the mainstream media after one of their darlings. Tribalism will always trump (ha! See what I did there?) rationality for the 27 percenters.

I do not mince words: he literally sounds like a crazy person. When you attempt to bring a crazy person back to the land of the living, this is the sort of livid response you get.

He can’t hold a conversation with adults who disagree with are even moderately skeptical of every word he says.

iirc, Arizona made it a law that candidates, from now on, submit their birth certificates to prove eligibility before the primaries (general election?). I know that they’ll gloss over this now that Cruz running.

I like when he uses his upper register. The Temptations are still touring. I see a future in show biz for Ben Carson.
