Donald Trump Says He Can Magically Sense an Approaching Terror Attack

Oh brother
Politics • Views: 58,506

How much more ridiculous is the Republican presidential campaign going to get?

“I predicted Osama bin Laden,” Mr. Trump declared in Knoxville, adding, “In my book, I predicted terrorism. Because I can feel it, like I feel a good location, O.K.?

“In real estate — my father always used to tell people, ‘You know, he may be my son, but everything he touches turns to gold,’” Mr. Trump said. His father helped him begin his real estate career with a loan. “When my father said that, that was a great compliment because he was a tough cookie. He said, ‘He has an instinct for location.’ You have an instinct about things. I really believe I have an instinct for this kind of thing.”

So, why didn’t he warn those people in the WTC and the Pentagon, and all those people in the jetliners, or all the people who just died in Paris?

With great power comes great responsibility. I read that in a (comic) book once.

I hung with a girl for a while that had worked for one of the psychic hot-lines. She was a good ‘cold reader’, the whole trick was to keep them on the line, get them dependent on you, but not ring up such a HUGE bill that they would stop calling.

She said she made some good money doing it, but quit because she just felt so dirty at the end of the day. FWIW, she said a lot of the girls there had also worked on phone sex lines, where it was the same basic concept.

Trump isn’t any different in my regard.

When I was searching for the image I used up there, I also got curious about what Miss Cleo was up to now. Not much is the answer but she did appear in a documentary about those kind of phone services called “Hotline”, available now on Netflix. Reviews are generally pretty good, I’m about to check it out.

Background checks won’t do enough to keep guns out of the hands of an ISIS cell any more than they keep guns away from street gangs. They might raise the price, and we can catch a few-would be terrorists trying to buy illegal weapons, but we’re not going to be able to stop enough of their attempts to acquire arms.

I realize where you fall politically and I have no problem with it, but I also know, growing up in Canada, that a lack of handguns does not make a society more dangerous. There are many common sense gun laws that will not interfere with the 2nd Amendment but certain people are so terrified of ANY gun legislation we don’t even have a chance of getting them on the books.

Rough guess, about twice as ridiculous.

And the peak will be two week after either Rubio, or more likely, Jeb drops out, and the leading establishment candidate is still massively behind either Trump, or Cruz if Trump has dropped out by then.

Because they know full well they would find themselves on the receiving end of one of the more epic drubbings in modern military history, and their aura of invincibility would be shattered once and for all.

Also, a good number of Da’esh’s leadership cadre are ex-Iraqi intelligence operatives, and they’re keenly aware of what would happen if they tangled with Israel.

More arrests are following in the wake of the Paris massacre, this time, near Aachen, Germany:

(Alsdorf, Germany) In connection with the terrorist attacks in Paris, special forces police have arrested three suspects in Alsdorf on Tuesday morning. Two women and a man were arrested in a car at the job center. A large contingent of emergency services is on site.

Among the people in the three detainees there were initially only little information. “There are foreign citizens”, Aachen police spokesman Werner Schneider told the news channel N-TV.

The trio was arrested around 9:30 A.M. immediately in front of the job center on Joseph-von-Fraunhofer-Straße. It was her car, a dark blue or black VW Golf or similar vehicle, stopped by several police vehicles on the access road of the Job Centers.

An eyewitness followed the police car on the way to the emergency described the details to our editorial staff. A woman whose hands were fixed with handcuffs behind her back, was on the trunk of the car and beside her was an officer with a gezückter gun. The woman was wearing a headscarf. In the passenger seat sat another woman with dark hair. The witness estimated her to be in her mid 20s. Regarding the driver, there was nothing more to see.

Those arrested are said to have recently visited the job center. The police with numerous forces on the ground, were gathered on Siersdorfer road. Emergency vehicles were also spotted in the neighboring villages.

My BS detector has gone offline. Totally offline. Dead. Kaput.

Trump’s bald faced BS has broken it entirely. He owes me a new one.

He doesn’t know jack shit about terrorism, let alone magically sense it is going to happen.

He didn’t know 9/11 was going to happen. He didn’t warn anyone with his premonitions or sentiments. He didn’t warn anyone in London or Madrid before the terror attacks there, nor did he warn Paris before Charlie Hebdo or the latest attacks.

And he certainly didn’t warn Mumbai of the terror attacks there - or any of the thousands of attacks in between.

Oh, and he didn’t warn of any of the domestic terror attacks - mass murders, church burnings, etc. that constitute terrorism as it is commonly defined.

This dispicable POS shouldn’t be anywhere near the WH, let alone on the tour.

It speaks volumes to the goals/intentions of the GOP that he’s still the leader in the polls, and when he says something that should otherwise disqualify him from running, his polls actually rise.

Bear in mind that Da’esh’s real goal, religious rhetoric and apocalyptic mumbo-jumbo aside, is essentially a political one; to re-establish Sunni control over Iraq, and to establish an impenetrable transnational stronghold.

Israel simply doesn’t fit in that overarching political strategy. Israel is basically irrelevant to their goals.

Russia has finally concluded an “act of terror” brought down that plane in the Sinai.

bbc.com

Mr Bortnikov said a bomb had been planted on board the Metrojet plane, equivalent to up to 1kg of TNT. The Kremlin website carried a transcript of the meeting.

The bomb shattered the plane mid-air on 31 October, he said, “which explains the wide dispersal of fuselage pieces”.

Mr Putin said that Russia must hunt those responsible “indefinitely, find out who the individuals were”.

“We’ll look for them everywhere, wherever they are hiding. We’ll find them in any corner of the planet and punish them.”

Russia has offered a $50m (£33m) reward for information on the Sinai plane attackers.

I dunno, having Barack Obama in charge of things fills me, personally, with a hell of lot more confidence than ANY of the Republican candidates would in a million years - which most assuredly includes a blustering buffoon like Trump.

Both hotlines pretty much prey on the same demographic: lonely, frightened, and desperate people. Which, when you think about, is an apt description of the GOP base.

My opinion of him has gone down the drain, as has my view of NRO entirely. It’s a cesspool, and his latest today is an attempt to put lipstick on a pig - claiming that GOP/right wing opposition to resettling Syrian refugees isn’t xenophobic/nativist because of concerns over vetting the refugees coming in.

Umm, yes - it still is. Because those are the same exact claims made that excluded Jewish refugees from coming into the US before and during and after WWII. It’s the same arguments made time and again by nativists who want to keep out the other.

Untrue. The only thing those nuts fear from us right now is direct application of main force. Unity does not impress them as the leaders of Daesh, like the leaders of Japan in the 1930’s-1940’s, command men who are fanatical enough to simply kill those united against them in however large numbers as are needed to secure submission. Daesh would be perfectly willing to turn a city into a burned-out cider rather than permit that city to resist it. I basically only use it now to keep track of my son, my daughter and her kids. I’m down to 53 friends, a few more of them could go. No one’s even noticed I got rid of them, lol. Life’s too short for this horseshit. I look at times like these as asshole detectors, which is a good thing.

I also have a question for the group. Someone I decided to just let go in real life and online has a son in law who did two tours in Iraq. While he was there he apparently had a GoPro camera and actually shot film of him and his unit shooting and killing Iraqis. He then showed this stuff to his father in law, my no-longer-friend. I think this made his xenophobia and racism worse than it was already. Aren’t there regulations against that kind of stuff?

In the long term what this guy says makes sense. If the world turns on the refugees, they have to stay put. Or more likely to. And what choices would they then have? Join or die is pretty much the option. Even if you opt for suicide bombing, there’s the hope your family would get some money and have a little better chance for something better. ISIL wants more violence against Muslims, period. It gives them a never ending pool of new martyrs to keep the ranks growing and keep the war going.

“They fear our unity more than our airstrikes”

They cannot be impressed by anything save armed force at this time and until that changes force is the medium we must use.

Long-term, Da’esh will only be defeated ideologically. If you wanna do something interesting, go find an online copy of Milestones by Sayeed Qutb, the ‘Grandfather of Takfiri Jihadism’. If you’re familiar with Marxist literature, you’ll find that it reads almost identically to Lenin’s What Is To Be Done? Indeed, more than a few Western commentators have noted that Qutb copied Lenin’s work almost word-for-word, and did a little substitution of Islamic phraseology.

The reason behind Da’esh’s success in recruiting people to its “Jihadi cool” ideas is that at their core, those ideas are essentially Marxist ideas, and they’re perfectly aimed at a young, resentful and fairly well-educated audience: A proletarian underclass, if you will, and just as how the Bolsheviks attracted a good many followers during the early stages of the revolution, so today Da’esh does the same, using the same appeal, albeit clothed in Islamic rhetoric and tradition. But the underlying message, “Workers Muslims of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains! Death to the decadent capitalist class Western world!” is one we’ve all heard before.

It’s going after some facilities, but the intention is not to destroy the oil infrastructure because the people in the region need the infrastructure if they want to rebuild their lives and have a functioning economy afterwards.

Did you ever think that burning down the house to kill the cockroaches might not be a good idea? And I recall a shit load of bombs not quite working in a certain SE Asian war. Like I said, you may not agree with his assessment, but listen to his words. They grew from murder death and mayhem, and now we promise more murder death and mayhem. I don’t have all the answers. More innocent bodies is not an answer. Daesh is not a government or a country. It is an occupier and a murdering gang. Bombs alone will not end this.

The US dropped a tremendous amount of ordnance on Iraq, to say nothing of the loss of lives and casualties among American service members or the Iraqis caught in the crossfire. It didn’t eliminate the terror/insurgent threat there. It didn’t stop the terror/Taliban threat in Afghanistan either.

By itself, fighting an asymmetrical conflict with bombs alone is insufficient to neutralize the enemy.

Obama seems to understand the need to fight asymmetrical threats better than the GOP, which sees conflict as one that must result in dropping bombs as though that solves everything. Doesn’t mean Obama’s been perfect on this either, but he has kept the nation safe from attack, especially as compared to his predecessors.

No, they just hollow out copies of heathen Bibles, like the New International Version, which having the word “international” in it, is a dead giveaway that it’s not a Bible based on the true English that Moses and Jesus spoke.

Heh.

So they would say that gun ownership is enshrined in the constitution. And that it’s their god-given right.

BUT, you know what IS enshrined in the bible? Compassion and something like this:

“For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’”

According to Fox7 Austin, State Representative Tony Dale (R-Cedar Park) sent a letter to Governor Greg Abbott (R) saying that current Texas laws, combined with how the federal government grants rights to refugees, would allow the newly arrived Syrians to arm themselves immediately.

The B-52H’s bomb load is 70,000 pounds, or 35 short tons.

af.mil

Three waves of twelve B-52s, flying eight missions (assuming, highly unrealistically, a one-hour flight there and back) totals 6,720 tons of bombs. Less than the yield of the nukes dropped at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and they didn’t “cease to exist.” Far, FAR less than we dropped on Tokyo, Berlin, Hamburg, Pyongyang, Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh trail, Baghdad, or any number of other cities we’ve targeted over the years, and they didn’t “cease to exist.”

Of course, his fanfic has a Republican president in October 2016…

Anyone want to place odds on how long it’ll take for the Islamophobes—both in Australia and the U.S. & Europe—to begin foaming at the mouth about Muslims trying to take over the Australian government and impose Sharia?

I mean FFS, people want Muslims to play by the secular rules (democracy, elections, etc.), but you can be sure any time they actually try to do so, it’ll be framed as some sort of 5th column stealth jihad coming to take away your freedoms.

That’s exactly the kind of crap groups like Da’esh use to radicalize young Muslims: “See? They hate you. They hate/fear Islam. They’ll never accept you. Come with us. We love you. We’ll be your new family. We’ll protect you and teach them not to screw with you.” It’s really not that different from how street gangs operate.

The Islamophobes are just as big a danger to our society as the jihadis—the former are enablers who help the latter recruit.

You bring up an interesting point about gangs. This is precisely what they do to recruit members. They pick vulnerable young people from mostly poor families and promise them a quasi family who has their back and an income so they can have at least food, clothing and shelter covered. Some of the morons doing the most crowing about kill them all, kill, kill, should talk to cops on gang task forces. You have to offer viable alternatives to hopelessness if you want to break the cycle of violence. And in the case of many Middle Eastern locations, there is literally nothing but piles of rubble to go home to. It’s not like there’s a Home Depot down the street to go get supplies from and start over. Violence begets violence, it’s endless. And it seems as though nearly all the efforts at reconstruction and rebuilding are nothing more than sinkholes for graft and corruption rather than actually fixing what’s broken.

It really is rather amusing, in a disgusting sort of way admittedly, that the same people who profess to be so tough and fearless and courageous instantly void their bowels at the very thought of taking in Syrian refugees. Not to mention Muslims in general - I’d daresay that if any of these “Patriots” walked into a mosque during, let’s say, the Friday congregational prayers, the stench of them losing control of their sphincters would quickly overpower everyone present.

BTW, I’ll be updating my list as I find time and as the weaselling governors manage to find their backbones and give straight answers. I’ve also updated some of the links (and will continue to do so) with articles from local news sources as they tend to have more details and know their politicians better than the national media does.

One thing that really irked the crap out of me reading one statement after the other was their bullshit concern trolling over screening refugees, as if it’s not already sufficient. In case you end up needing it, here are the steps in the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program Application and Case Processing and here is how they’re provided for when they arrive.

I look into this stuff myself because I no longer trust the media and too many opportunistic politicians are bent on raising their profiles by vilifying refugees. These effing sociopaths are essentially stepping on the backs of poor, miserable, terrified people who’ve already lost everything but their lives and are completely at the mercy of strangers. Much of the media is just as bad as they only seem to care about the clicks. It’s shameful & disgusting.

Here is some in on MA Gov Baker (R) and Boston Mayor Walsh (D):

bluemassgroup.com

And, also from the bluemassgroup.com

Governor Baker’s (and all the other governors’) knee-jerk, no-Syrian-refugees-in-my-state response to the Paris attacks — to the extent that it relies on safety as justification — is a declaration that he hasn’t been preparing properly. It’s a declaration that he hasn’t been doing an adequate job protecting the safety of the Commonwealth.

“If they can spur a backlash against refugees, then they can recruit from that population when the backlash occurs,” says Daveed Gartenstein-Ross, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. “This was their playbook in 2005 and 2005 when they were known as al-Qaeda in Iraq. They would attack Shias, spark a backlash against Sunnis, and then recruit by posing as the defender of the Sunnis.”

It’s clear that the Republicans don’t care about fighting ISIS in an intelligent way, they only care about whipping up fear in their voters to get re-elected.

I know a young man, friend of my kid, who is from Tehran. He recently went public with being diagnosed with depression. He’s a good kid, kind of a wild ass, but not a criminal, and is actually kind of conservative politically. But he’s dark skinned, dark hair, sports a little beard, etc. I worry about him right now. He’s a school system employee (maintenance) and I really hope some asshole doesn’t give him a hard time. He’s been so sad lately, I worry about him hurting himself if things were to get ugly for him at work. He really likes his job and wants to be successful. His parents fled Iran for the US a little over a decade ago. He just got all his immigration stuff sorted out last year. He just turned 21. I’m going to go check on him in a bit.

You checking on him is the best. For him to know a sane adult in his environment could make a big difference.
