Donald Trump Is a Fan of Conspiracy Creepazoid Alex Jones Because of Course He Is

False flag lapel pin
Politics • Views: 79,414

And now, to back up his thoroughly discredited claim that “thousands” of Muslims celebrated in the streets of Jersey City on 9/11/2001, leading GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is tweeting a link to the website of a conspiracy fanatic who thinks the 9/11 attacks were staged by the US government and the Sandy Hook massacre was a false flag operation.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised to see Trump come out for a speech wearing Mickey Mouse ears and scuba gear. I’m starting to think he’s a false flag operation to discredit the Republican Party.

Of course, Donald Trump isn’t the only GOP presidential candidate who’s a fan of Alex Jones.

And the GOP will continue to flail around as his polling among self-identifying Republicans continues to rise. Watch for his polling to hit 40% next week.

Because that is just the way this campaign is going. Fact-free? Points to Trump.
Lies? Another bump.
Peddling conspiracies? Still another bump.

Where are the people harassing and stalking Christians going to and from church? Where are the bomb and death threats, the talk of special IDs for “certain people”? I want to see their evidence of liberals doing the same shit. Where are the people assaulting right wingers at Hillary or Bernie rallies? What’s the right way to push back before it’s too late?

I’m kind of getting scared here. Am I just oversensitive or is it worse than it’s been even since 9/11?

Standard television pictures, too, are broadcast at a color temperature of 6500 Kº. In search of brightness at all costs (Fourth power of the temperature, remember), most TV sets have their color temperature set at anything from 9,000 to 12,000 Kº, like our sun was Rigel. That’s why you can’t adjust the hue so that Caucasian skin tones look normal without making blond hair (and black skin tones) look green.

If Game of Thrones was around in the 1950’s:

Senator Joseph McCarthy: “Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the High Septon?”

High Sparrow: “I reserve my right to plead the fifth amendment and the Faith of the Seven.”

————

Senate Counsel Roy Cohn: “Miss Mirri Maz Duur, is it true you promised Daenerys that you could save Drogo’s life using blood magic, and was this in any way connected to Joseph Stalin?”

Mirri Maz Duur: “I cannot and will not cut my conscience to fit this year’s fashion, and by the way don’t expect to wake up alive in the morning. Just saying.”

————

Senator Joseph McCarthy: “Mr. Shaggydog, can you shed any light on communist infiltration into Winterfell?”

Shaggydog: “Woof woof woof!”

I think it’s worse. The bigotry that showed up then was on a much smaller scale. Now there’s a nationally viable presidential candidate echoing the Fever Swamps on all the cable news shows.

Difference between left and right wing violence.
Left: Moonbats meet up, get drunk rather than high, decide to throw molotovs at cop cars.
Result: 1 patrol car damaged, 3 moonbats under arrest in burn ward.

Right: Ammosexual drunk becomes enraged after listening to Hannity/Limbaugh/Jones, grabs AR-15 and a thousand rounds, goes “Muslim hunting.”
Result: 7 dead, 18 wounded at Sikh temple, shooter killed by police.

Walk in the woods this morning to survey my brother’s unbuilt on plot of land. Putting up another No Trespassing sign, plus met and talked to a couple of deer hunters. (Acquaintaces of my brother who have permission to hunt there.)

Saw some deer while we were driving there, including a few bucks, and one we estimate with a 10-12 point antler rack.

Took a few iPhone pics as well while walking about.

View across stream in the old woodlot.
Frosty leaves

I’m watching an incredible show about sewer systems and clean water. I had no idea that starting in 1850 the entire downtown of Chicago was raised up on jackscrews a building (and in at least 1 case, and entire block), new foundations set, and sewers built. They had to do this because the city was so flat that there was no drainage. One of the engineers was George Pullman (who went on to fame with the Pullman Car).

Here’s an article on it from Gizmodo.

I’m seriously impressed.

Somewhere in the wide world of writers, I hope somebody is penning one of those deep cultural step-back-and-look-in-the-mirror pieces titled “AMERICA’S ASSHOLE PROBLEM”. Exhibit A would of course be Oberst SA-Fuehrer von Trump.

I’d like to see a solid analysis (analysis? ha ha) of why, why, WHY we are so in love with the “tell it like it is dickhead”. These kinds of men do nothing for anybody - NOTHING - and yet our culture worships them, follows them, builds statues of them, and makes them up from whole cloth when real ones aren’t around.

We need to grow the fuck up. We can’t just shoot people in the face for sport anymore. The world is too small. “Fuck you” is not a workable policy position.

The political network backed by the billionaire Koch brothers has no plans to take on Trump. American Crossroads, the super PAC co-founded by strategist Karl Rove, is steering clear and fixated on Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton instead. Right to Rise, the super PAC backing Jeb Bush, is not gearing up to attack Trump either. And major Republican donors, such as hedge-fund manager Paul Singer and the Ricketts family, have shown no interest in supporting the few organizations trying to undercut him.

This is what the Republican Party has built.

At its core this is what the GOP has been during my entire lifetime. All Trump did was rip off the facade. He’s exploiting a perfect storm. Just like water vapor cannot form into rain drops absent the presence of nuclei, the latent racism within US conservatism couldn’t coalesce into open, abject fascism absent something as simple as a black President. Therefore, now we have Trump.

The racism in conservatism, and our larger society, was always there though, make no mistake about that. Trump is just in the right place and time to weaponize it.

Nick Searcy has a serious inferiority complex. Appearing at a “Justified” event, he carried the wine bottle out onto stage with him and was visibly upset when Timothy Olyphant got more applause and attention. He was passive-aggressive petulant throughout.

His sour personality is useful in a production; you know you won’t have to work too hard to get that kind of performance out of him, since he’s basically playing himself. However, he has long ago hit the ceiling of his talent and success. He will never be a leading man, he will never carry a production. He will always be just “that guy … you know, that guy … uhmmmm… ” in the background. Not that this is a crime or anything — but his transparent screaming of “I AM SOMEONE SUCCESSFUL! REALLY, I AM!!” is pretty much the same as Michael Jackson building a life-size cowboys&indians play area at his Neverland Ranch compound.

Sad and pathetic compensation.

Sorry, Nick. Your shitty personality has gotten in the way of your talent, and you are NOT as gifted as a Marlon Brando, who could make people overlook his eccentricities because he flat-out burned up any screen he ever appeared on, and will be remembered for generations.

It’s the only role I knew him before Justified and his running feud with Charles; frankly, I thought he was good as Slayton, but then again, I can’t think of a bad performance with the whole mini-series.

Where else could you get Searcy and Adam Baldwin along with Stephen Root, Al Franken, Tony Goldwin, Mark Harmon, Tim Daly, Steve Zahn, Chris Isaak, Bryan Cranston, Mark Rolston, Cary Elwes, Lane Smith, Jay Mohr, Dann Florek, Kevin Pollak, James Rebhorn, Sally Field, JoBeth Williams, Max Wright, Alan Ruck, Ronny Cox, Tom Hanks (as narrator for the series and for his expanded on-screen role in the last episode)…and Clint Howard?

Vietnam has given transgender people the right to change the gender on their identity papers.

I predict no natural disaster will suddenly appear as punishment for this development.

No surprise to me. It’s hard to explain, but I felt more free in Vietnam than in any other Communist countries I visited. Yes, you could get yourself in big trouble with the authorities easy enough but it still was like a 9 to 5 communism and rather laid back outside of that. Not like Eastern Europe for example.

Funny you should mention that. Today in class a group of my sophomores gave a presentation on American rock music. The Eagles’ Hotel California came up as an example. For some reason, the extended concert version (with the looong instrumental introduction) is featured in Chinese karaoke clubs.

I’m not very sure how karaoke providers choose American songs for Chinese KTV clubs. The choice is quite eclectic, and rarely up to date.

Near our base in Vicenza was an Italian hotel—The Hotel California. We always tried to put our temporary duty visitors there.

A top US military commander says last month’s airstrike on a Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)hospital in the Afghan city of Kunduz was an “avoidable accident” caused primarily by human error.

The findings of an investigation into the bombardment which killed thirty people were revealed in a Pentagon news conference.

“This was a tragic mistake,” said
General John Campbell. “US forces would never intentionally strike a hospital or other protected facilities. I can tell you that those individuals most closely associated with the incident have been suspended from their duties, pending consideration and disposition of administrative and disciplinary matters.”

MSF said the army investigation showed “gross negligence” by US forces .. as the hospital’s location had been clearly communicated to all warring parties

Happy? Thanksgiving to all. I am the former CarolJ, who can’t get in anymore because the email I used to register I no longer have. Ce’st la vie.

I am too pretty scared about Trump. And not because of Republicans. I’m scared that some people will nit-pick Hillary like Gore was, and make it close enough to steal. While I was an Obama girl the last time, I’ve never really disliked Hillary and would have happily voted for her in 2008 if she were on the ticket.

Anyone doing what I am doing this day? Steak for Thanksgiving, cooked in a crockpot with onions, mushrooms, beef gravy and seasoning. Why no turkey? Well, whoever heard of a turkey for one, and it’s too dry for me anyway. Steak at least cooked right remains juicy, is good the next day (or two) as a sandwich, and has no waste.

And I woke up this morning with a craving for pie. Yes, I have ice cream. Yes, I have sweet potatoes. But I want pie, and I don’t think anyplace close is open that sells it…again that’s Thanksgiving for you.

20 pounds? Just in the oven? When Mom used to cook Thanksgiving, she would start cooking the night before and we still ended up having dinner at 1-2. True, she cooked a whole meal, but a big turkey still took time:))

She’s 95 now, and no longer cooks for anyone. My sister and later my niece, took over that. And this year they decided to just buy a pre-cooked dinner, and my niece who used to cook decided that since she had to go out to work afterwards she wouldn’t do it this year.

Current meme? I saw this sort sort of magical thinking shortly after 9-11. There was someone seriously saying something to the effect that aircraft security would be improved if every passenger before they got on the plane was made to eat a piece of pork and spit on the Koran. Never mind the fact that the actual 9-11 hijackers were known to have gone to strip clubs and had drunk alcohol in the days before they carried out the hijackings.

Much like Columbus Day, Thanksgiving is seen by some as a celebration of the conquest and genocide of Native Americans by colonists. Professor Dan Brook of the University of California, Berkeley condemns the “cultural and political amnesia” of Americans that celebrate Thanksgiving: “We do not have to feel guilty, but we do need to feel something.”[71] Professor Robert Jensen of the University of Texas at Austin is somewhat harsher: “One indication of moral progress in the United States would be the replacement of Thanksgiving Day and its self-indulgent family feasting with a National Day of Atonement accompanied by a self-reflective collective fasting.”[72]

Yes! This is what I was talking about, it’s time everyone admit that turkey is simply the worst. Today I’ll be slow bbqing a bone in leg of lamb that’s been marinating since Monday. If push came to shove I’d reheat El Pollo Loco before deigning to eat another ridiculous turkey.

From what I’ve read, there’s always has been a Harvest
Festival of some kind forever just about everywhere. “Thank God for the food and lets stuff ourselves just before the winter starve” seems to be universal.

And a national day of atonement? It’s hard enough to have and get one in a religion-think Lent, Yom Kippur- when God commands it. But a national day? Forget about it. Besides there’s a phrase from the Bible-“Go and sin no more”. The aggrieved, once the sin is acknowledged, would rather be compensated and the sin cease to be committed.

And as for Thanksgiving, it doesn’t celebrate genocide and I wish folks like Mr. Carr would chill out.

Living abroad, we have to adjust for the lack of holiday. Here in Germany we used to use Buss- und Bettag, the Day of Atonement and Prayer, which fell on the third Wednesday of November, as our substitute Thanksgiving (it somehow feels more authentic when held in during the week rather than a weekend) but that holiday was abolished to help the government fund old-age care insurance.

In this case, I can see a separation between the first Thanksgiving and our subsequent near wipeout of Native Americans. The Puritans were trying to find a place to practice their own version of Christianity, but they pretty much just wanted to survive. It was the profiteers later who really started the reign of conquest.

Yesterday was such a beautiful late fall day, sun out, high 50s for temps. So, my buddy the dog trainer and I were out at a local park in our area of town shooting some video of his dogs to show his training capabilities.

We were by one of the ponds and the geese were all formed up and swimming in a large group and when they got in front of one of the walkover bridges I thought they made a great pattern in the water and fit the backdrop of the park nicely. So, I took a few shots. I thought this one came out pretty good, and I love the color of the water driven by the brilliant sky above. Thought I’d share.

Franklin Park, Columbus Ohio, November 25, 2015

And one of the fun shots of the pooches. Bailey is on the big concrete slab and Molley down front. Keep in mind Bailey is a good part Lab so he had already taken a dive into the pond as cold as the water was. And even though my buddy has him in a hold on the slab, and he will not run off…there are geese back there and I am a retriever…

Georgia, giving Texas some competition.

I’m really getting tired of this “Support the Troops” bullshit from RWNJs. They do no such thing, never have. There was constant trouble with local whites when I was stationed in Texas and other conservative, Nixon-loving regions, much more than other parts of the country. They were afraid we were there to steal their women. Oddly, this is the same fear they traditionally have of black men.
One old codger did not want me dating his daughter because I was not (yet) a commissioned officer. He thought enlisted types were trash, cannon fodder and we should be grateful for regular paychecks and nifty uniforms. He was part of the yokel gentry, owned a furniture store. He was also a fanatical Nixonian, hippie hater, and outspoken advocate of the Vietnam war.
This kind of demographic is where the many right wing chicken hawks came from and why there are so many of them.

Maybe not if you don’t care for it, lol. “Phantom Tollboth” on TCM today. Great movie for all ages!

Post and run - Happy Thanksgiving, gentle Lizardim, from the snow-covered wild north country. I am thankful for Charles, for LGF, and for all of the lizards who make this such a wonderful place to come and discuss politics and random life topics. For the Americans, may you overindulge on turkey and the regional dish of your choice; for the rest, I wish you could be here to enjoy it all with us. Later lizards!

I have yet to meet a single person (including non-Christians) who is offended by being wished a “Merry Christmas”.
Certain “Christians” OTOH getting outraged by “Happy Holidays”…

You can say “Merry Christmas” all you want as a private citizen. Just not in an official capacity. That’s what our beloved Constitution tells us.

I’m thinking having somebody dressed as Basil The Blessed walk up to Putin and declaim, “Vladimir! It is enough! Go home!”

And as for Thanksgiving, it doesn’t celebrate genocide and I wish folks like Mr. Carr would chill out. The Pilgrims were genuinely for the help they had received from their Native American neighbors and those neighbors saw the pilgrims as a useful in keeping themselves from being attacks by more powerful tribes.

Doctor Carr, and he’s plenty chill.
