Fox News Demagogue Bill O’Reilly Attacks Planned Parenthood: “Deserves Much of the Harsh Criticism”

Following the attack on the Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic, Fox News demagogue Bill O’Reilly, who repeatedly demonized Dr. George Tiller as “Tiller the Baby Killer” and then denied he ever did it, is doubling down on the incitement tonight.

Because of course he is. It’s difficult not to conclude that right wing pundits like O’Reilly are trying to incite violence. And not for the first time.

BILL O’REILLY: Planned Parenthood is in the baby body parts business, and deserves much of the harsh criticism directed toward it. The situation is reminiscent of the assassination in 2009 of Dr. George Tiller, a late term abortionist in Kansas. For $5,000 Tiller would terminate any pregnancy for any reason. He was nicknamed “Tiller the Baby Killer” by organizations who objected to his grisly practice. I reported extensively on Tiller, and after he was assassinated by a named Scott Roeder, some far-left loons blamed me. The Truth is, I reported accurately on Tiller, whose assistant was stripped of her medical license after the assassination. By the way, Roeder was given life in prison, a well deserved sentence.

No, Bill, you did NOT report accurately on Tiller. You incited violence against a man who performed legal operations. Abortion whether assholes like you like it or not is legal and constitutional just as is using fetal research. Planned Parenthood does tons of good things for women’s health that you would realize if you weren’t in the business of doing this crap.

To be in “business”, Bill, one has to make profits. PP dos not profit from tissue donation. And now they don’t even take money to cover expenses of tissue donation. So, if it’s a “business”, they suck at it. OR…or….you’re just a lying asshole.

I’ll go with “lying asshole”.

It actually reminds me of those who claimed to condemn anti-Jewish violence done by the Nazis and far right German movements in the 20’s and 30’s but said the Jews deserved it. If Planned Parenthood actually broke the law, then maybe BillO can explain why even GOP governors and AGs haven’t found a single illegal thing they did.

So the wingnuts scream that they had no part in motivating Dear and should not bear any responsibility for his actions…and then go right back to provoking the next terrorist.

And the rest of the media sees absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Yegods.

Honestly “pro-lifers” like Bill have ben doing this shit for years. I remember abortion being likened to the Holocaust as a kid and there was a website called the Nuremberg files that listed the home addresses of doctors. I at one brief point did consider myself an opponent of abortion but I have always despised the political anti-abortion movement because of their bullying and harassing tactics.

I don’t think any connection was definitively proven, but it was in a theater showing “Trainwreck” that an unhinged man shot and killed two women and injured several others last August.

It’ll get worse before it gets better. The only thing that will satisfy them are show trials where Ms. Richards of PP is grilled relentlessly and even put in prison. The right keeps on getting worse and worse in this country. I thought 2012’s crop was bad. I don’t even want to think what 2020 will look like if they lose a third consecutive presidential election.

Here’s the problem. Nutjob shoots up PP. RWNJs immediately throw the spin cycle into overdrive and label the suspect a “crazed leftist”. Other RWNJs jump aboard the bandwagon and the hate train picks up speed.

You’d think events like this would slow it down, but it’s quite the opposite.

If a major act of violence happened, the intensity of right wing rhetoric, as well as the resulting gun sales, would be through the roof.

It’s an incredibly vicious repeating cycle.

Who cares about violence when you can always deny you’re the bad guys and know your audience will buy it?

Exactly. Like most of the wingnut cavemen who’ve entered into the debate, he thinks “birth control” means one of two things: A guy uses a condom or a woman abstains totally from sex. Can’t use pills because they make the Baby Jesus cry. And can’t get an abortion because it’s “murder.”

Oh, shit…I done fucked up in my advice:

When Tweets have an @reply, but also a period (.) or other symbol (>) before them, users want all of their followers to see the Tweet, not just those who follow both the sender and the receiver. Remember that @replies, in which the @username is at the very start of the Tweet, can only be viewed by mutual followers of the sender and receiver. We call it narrowcasting when users post an @reply and broadcasting when they use a .@reply.

No, the dot (basically a direct but not private) puts their timeline. No dot puts it in your public timeline. I tweeted a no dot tweet and couldn’t find it again. I had to search for my own tweet.

Cognitive dissonance on steroids as “Wolfpack” O’Reilly contradicts himself:

I reported extensively on Tiller, and after he was assassinated by a named Scott Roeder, some far-left loons blamed me. The Truth is, I reported accurately on Tiller, whose assistant was stripped of her medical license after the assassination. By the way, Roeder was given life in prison, a well deserved sentence.

Uh, Bill, If Tiller was murdering helpless tiny babies, as you claimed continuously for years on end, why in the world do you think Roeder deserved any punishment at all, let alone a lengthy prison sentence?

Trump demands CNN pay him $5M to participate in next debate
via CBS News

Business mogul Donald Trump demanded on Monday that CNN, the host of the next GOP debate, pay him $5 million dollars to participate, with the proceeds to be donated to veterans.

“I won’t do the debate unless they pay me 5 million dollars,” Trump said.

Trump floated being paid to participate in the last CNN Republican debate in September, when he wrote in a letter to CNN president Jeff Zucker: “While I refuse to brag, and you know very well, this tremendous increase in viewer interest is due 100% to ‘Donald J. Trump.”

A few more details about that “stripped of her license” claim:

According to the Associated Press, Neuhaus was hoping to have her full medical license restored after spending years only allowed to provide limited medical care for charity work. Instead, an ongoing investigation into 11 patient cases obtained by Operation Rescue became the center of a movement to have her license stripped all together.

The cases all involved girls who sought abortions due to mental health issues from depression to suicide, with an age range from 17 years old to as young as 10.

Hey! It’s just the opening bid.

I have long suggested that Texas replace its antiquated, farcical, and costly election system with a far more efficient alternative that will achieve precisely the same result:
Replace elections with an auction at the Fort Worth stockyards arena. It has an ideal layout, refined through decades of use, expert auctioneers, good media infrastructure and ample parking for the lobbyists, foreign agents, corporate fatcats, pressure groups, and big money evangelists who will be able to pay the admission fee. It even has VIP suites for the seriously major players. Simply herd the politicos onto the floor in conveniently sized batches and let the bidding begin.

I really think it is both. I mentioned last night that I saw an interview with Kellyanne Conway, head of one of his THREE super PACs, that chilled me to the bone. His campaign REALLY knows what it is doing. The fact he is now everywhere and on the attack against his GOP rivals (after playing nice with Trump for so long) has everything to do with the fact that the Iowa Caucus is coming soon.

Speaking of super PACs and being chilled to the bone, I would like to recommend my page on the topic of Ben Carson working closely with the nasty professional fundraising industry.

You want a fucking American Caliphate with Jeeezus in the driver’s seat? Go for it. Everybody gets an ultimatum: If you think this country is white, chrischun, anti-aborshun, women should be silent baby vending machines, blah blah sacred honor of the white man blah fucking blah, then you have 72 hours to move to the Middle. We’ll help you pack. Get the fuck out, go back to 1850, leave the modern world alone.

We’ll peek over the wall in 50 years to see if you’re still there, or have been reduced to the Bronze Age state you so earnestly desire.

Just please, nobody start this plan until I can move out of Texas. :P

I came down here to get away from the congestion and crusader liberalism of the northeast (I did appreciate the low cost of living and unrestricted gun buying!), and in ten years I’m finding that this place has gone off the rails. This loonbag governor and these fucksticks in Irving are symptoms of a much bigger rot in the psyche of the people here… Open carry is kind of a warning sign for me, that used to be a no-no that was opposed by the police here. Nah. There are a lot fewer of them than there are of them.

They’re disproportionately noisy. Next election is going to be a barometer of how sick the country really is.

Apologies for the breathless tone, but I’m seeing sensible friends turn into anger-filled freaks over Islamic bogeymen and you can’t reason people out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into. If I suggest calming down and considering the source, then I’m marked as an enemy of Gawd.

That and the open carry thing is bothering me. The first letter in CHL is CONCEALED and that’s sensible policy. If anybody with a permit can just wander around armed, that leads pretty quick to stuff like these assholes in Irving being called a “protest” instead of intimidation. And as a relatively liberal Unbeliever, I’m next on the Big List O’Stuff We Don’t Like if shit comes unglued. I’m not some scared liburl pantywaist - I am armed, after all - but I’d rather not have to consider these possibilties. It’s un-American.

There’s a certain stubborn sense of decorum and responsibility that was part of the culture here until the last couple of years. I don’t know if it’s the economy or just the freaks getting their rage on after Obama got a 2nd term, but I feel like nobody’s driving this flying umbrella. Sensible voices seem to be powerless here and I don’t know why.

I was planning to move anyway, because North Texas sucks shit for living alone, but I’m not getting out too soon.

Wondering if there are any lizards with experience using the newer thermal imaging optics, particularly Armasight, FLIR or ATN. I’m thinking of investing in one.

I’ve used the really expensive dewar LN2 cooled FLIR medium wave cameras in the lab before but it looks like true thermal imaging tech is just now nearing consumer pricing levels. I’m excited to play with one out in the field, and yes I know the resolution is still comparatively very poor.

A teenage neighbor once tried to steal the [factory] radio out of my Wagoneer years ago. He busted a window, but did not manage to remove the radio. The neighbors saw him do it, and reported it to the cops, who later talked to me. Kid’s family paid for the busted window and other minor damage.

Kid was white, a troublemaker, but white. I wonder how the outcome would have changed if he’d been black or Hispanic.

Maybe a bad choice of words. The government’s Ambition Outweighing Talent, perhaps.

Massachusetts government is Calvinism that replaced God with The State. Lots of politicians there don’t seem to realize that it’s a tiny, tiny place. Kennedy worship. Everybody in upper politics trying to BE the next Kennedy. Pages of extravagantly worded paperwork to do anything at all. Musical chair patronage appointments. The worst single terrorist attack in the modern age launched from Logan airport, and all the people in charge of security got re-shuffled through cushy state jobs, while Boston PD roughed up Sikhs on trains. Deval Patrick playing a Diet Coke version of Obama. Roads falling apart. High taxes and fees. Congestion and suburbanization ruining the quiet parts of the countryside (think mass deforestation to build McMansions). Job market in the shitter. And all this, with pop culture running two years behind the rest of the country. No fun at all!

It’s much easier to make a living and commute and work down here, but if you’re alone, you’re in a world of hurt, and the things that made Texas worth all the driving are being eroded away. Not to mention, the leadership has gone nuts. :P

It was a 13 year old kid, missing four fingers on one hand. Troubled kid for sure but there’s no allegation of past violence or that he or any of his accomplices were armed.

People need to learn to just call the cops and stay indoors. You can’t feel threatened if you don’t put yourself in play, and putting yourself in play over material shit is stupid. Killing somebody over material shit is almost always at the long end of a string of bad decision making. The fact that the person killed certainly also made some bad decisions in no way excuses it.

Never fire a ‘warning shot’. Those are very dangerous, both physically and legally. A bullet fired into the air has to come down somewhere and if it hits someone or damages their property you can be held liable. Moreover, in almost all states it does noting positive for your case should you be charged criminally and in some cases can be a criminal charge itself, that charge being Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm. In your case though, EC, that last might not apply since you are in a rural non-incorporated area.

Alabama lawmaker accuses convenience store owners of ‘non-American businesses’ of funding terrorism in ugly Facebook rant

Friends,
I have posted regarding this issue once before and believe it worth another read. As you travel during the holidays or any other time, please try to shop and purchase gas and other items at American owned stores. The C stores/tobacco outlets, etc. with the lights around the windows and doors are not owned by God fearing Christians. In large part, these stores are owned by folk that send their profits back to their homeland and then in turn use these funds against our country to create turmoil, fear and in some cases death and destruction. I realize I am “painting with a broad brush” here, but the madness has to stop. Please join me in making the extra effort to never support these stores/shops! I am trying to do my part and I know you will to.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May God Bless.

That’s the Kerry map. Barring serious election fraud in Wisconsin and Illinois (to name two), the good news is that one more big state—Ohio, Florida, Virginia…—or a couple of smaller states—New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, Nevada…—puts a Democrat over the top.

The bad news is, election fraud in Ohio did tilt the outcome, so nothing can be taken for granted.

It’s a terrible idea for a hundred tactical reasons, but speaking legally only:

Let’s put it this way - even here in Let God Sort ‘Em Out Country, where local rules dating back to cattle rustling days used to allow for shooting people on your property at night, firing a gun in defense of personal property is specifically prohibited.

The rules were summarized to me as “if it (the property) can be moved, you can’t shoot.” Meaning, lethal force is not acceptable in defense of even car theft.

I’m fuzzy on things like the proverbial racking the shotgun or telling somebody not to move and you’ve called the police - I don’t think threatening with a gun is allowed either - but for sure you can’t kill somebody over replaceable, insured, movable things.

Yeah, and police aren’t to use lethal force unless there’s imminent threat to life. Yet there are dozens, if not hundreds, of unarmed bodies, many of whom with gunshots to the back.

re: #203 gwangung

Nobody instructed me on these things with a wink and a nod. There’s all sorts of bullshit myths on gun forums about saying you feared for your life, blah blah blah, but the laws here on paper in TX are very specific and the conditions to be no-billed by the Grand Jury are tight. Enforcement may be another matter. By the letter of the law, there’s a line on the real estate plan of your dwelling - I forgot the term for it - which outlines the extent of your defensible territory. It does not include your yard, and it does not include your garage on a typical home. I was told that if you’ve shot somebody outside of that line, you may be in trouble, and the investigators WILL check.

(Which makes me wonder, if I was attacked and cornered by armed thieves in a detached garage, that might get into a gray area. I’ll have to ask about that.)

That idiot woman in Waco or wherever the other day, who fired towards the purse thief when she thought he was going to run? She should be looking at criminal charges. I believe if the purse thief gets a good enough lawyer, she could be sued herself for assault. I’m sure the legalities would get convoluted and a little silly, but it could happen.

One I used to go to started out Italian—they just left the plastic grapevines and added the Christmas lights. Maybe it’s an indicator that they’re Asian-run? Or maybe the guy’s just a moron….

It’s even worse when it’s proprietary software that they want experience with.

Back in the aughts, job listings were created around a specific skillset and low pay range tailored to the H1B they were planning to bring over “because there are no qualified Americans”

Joshua Feuerstein (the red cup starbucks douche) is another stochastic terrorist inciting violence against Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood has hunted down millions and millions of little innocent babies, stuck a knife into the uterus, cut them, pulled them out, crushed their skull with forceps, ripped their body apart, sold their tissue, and threw them bleeding into a trash bin.

I say, tonight, we punish Planned Parenthood. I think it’s time that abortion doctors should have to run and hide and be afraid for their life.

Following that, it is easy for them to disregard anything that those lies might have led to.

Again, people who have no idea of the real meaning of things, be it manhood, patriotism or Christianity, are the ones who cling to the arbitrary external symbols that we associate wit those concepts.

Who the fuck cares about a Starbuck’s cup or a shop window except someone with a persecution complex looking for a new outrageous outrage?

OMG. It’s a Red Cup™ (kinda like a red shirt, just more disposable). It doesn’t have pagan symbols and therefore is a sign that Starbucks opposes Christmas!

The guy behind the “red cup outrage” is a scheming and conniving religious extremist who’s looking for the next grift.

And given the right wing’s persecution complex, it’s easy for him to exploit every perceived slight, whether it exists or not.

Backwoods_Sleuth  Dec 1, 2015 • 5:43:35am

A rapid increase in the number of U.S. women turning to intra-uterine devices to prevent pregnancy has prompted escalating attacks on the birth control method from groups that oppose abortion.

The next battle will be at the U.S. Supreme Court, which has agreed to consider a new religious challenge to contraceptives coverage under President Barack Obama’s healthcare law. Although the case deals broadly with whether religiously affiliated groups should be exempt from providing birth control coverage to their employees, some parties in the case have focused specifically on IUDs.

IUDs work primarily by preventing sperm from reaching an egg. But they have come under fire from anti-abortion groups because, in rare instances, they can prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. Those who believe that life begins at conception consider blocking implantation to be terminating a pregnancy rather than preventing pregnancy.

“IUDs are a life-ending device,” said Mailee Smith, staff counsel for the Americans United for Life, which filed an amicus brief in support of the challenge before the high court. “The focus of these cases is that requiring any life-ending drug is in violation of the Religious Freedom Act.”

About that report yesterday of a lockdown at the hospital where victims of the PP clinic shooting were taken:

The report indicates:

A man was detained Monday afternoon at the Memorial Hospital Central parking garage as police investigated reports of a “suspicious person” making threats to shoot one of the victims from Friday’s deadly Planned Parenthood attack, police said.

The man, whose identity was not released, was questioned and released after police did not consider him a threat, said Sgt. James Sokolik, a Colorado Springs police spokesman.

Sokolik said he did not immediately know the man’s motivation.

The search for a “suspicious person” began shortly after 11 a.m. at Penrose Hospital, where three of the shooting victims are receiving treatment, said Andrea Sinclair, a hospital spokeswoman.

So, shooting Planned Parenthood patients and staff wasn’t enough. Shooting and killing a cop (and shooting and injuring others) wasn’t enough.

There was yet another right wing extremist who wanted to take matters into their own hand and engage in terrorism.

Let’s call this what it is - right wing terrorism.

Abortion is legal and safe for women, that is when they’re not dodging right wing extremists who are threatening them with harms (both in setting up legal roadblocks that may keep them from getting access to health care, reproductive care, and abortions via TRAP laws and in actual physical violence condoned by far too many on the right).

One terrorist attack wasn’t enough. We had yet another potential terror attack thwarted within 48 hours of the first attack on the CO PP facility.

The right wing owns it. But the party of personal responsibility refuses to acknowledge the beast of their own creation.

The anti-choice people hope that by shaking hands and being friendly they can start a conversation to dissuade the escort and client from entering the clinic. You’ll find similar behavior by Hare Krishnas and other religious “persuaders.”

Long ago, coming home from college one holiday, a Hare Krishna did his friendly chat-up patter, showed me the lovely book he was peddling, and said I could have it for a donation of $10. I told him I’d like to read the book, but I didn’t have $10 to spare. I needed it for my LIRR train fare from Penn Central. He then grabbed the book from his hands, and walked away in a huff.

No, Emmanuel’s going to be mayor for a good while yet. This cover-up doesn’t invalidate the reasons I supported his reelection and I would have done so even had I known what was on those videos. Why? Because Rahm Rmmanuel is competent to be mayor of Chicago and Chuay Garcia is not.

Further i would note that Chicago is in a massive debt hole right now and cannot afford to undertake expensive populist gestures such as Garcia vaguely proposed. tight fiscal discipline is needed and so long as he is able to impose that discipline and bring businesses and jobs to Chicago, I will continue to support Emmanuel. I don’t like most of his politics, but he’s someone Chicago needs.

MACON, Ga. — Donald J. Trump was in full insult mode at a campaign rally here on Monday night as he egged on a man who called President Obama a “dumbass” and lit into Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont — “may he rest in peace” — as well as Hillary Clinton and several fellow Republican candidates.

But hold up, folks: He jokes! He kids!

Mr. Trump, in defending some of his recent jabs before making new ones, resorted to the old trick of suggesting that anyone who took offense at his remarks simply didn’t have a sense of humor. Speaking to a friendly crowd of several thousand people in Macon Coliseum, Mr. Trump contended that he was simply telling “jokes” when he mocked Ben Carson’s oft-told tales about his violent youth and a New York Times reporter’s physical disability.

“We can’t tell any more jokes, you know,” said Mr. Trump, the leading Republican presidential candidate in many opinion polls. Referring to news media coverage of those earlier comments, he continued: “They do whatever they can to make you look bad. So what I’m going to do, I’m not going to tell any more jokes, I’m not going to kid.”

The crowd began to boo, as Mr. Trump surely knew they would. “O.K., so I will,” he said of resuming his “jokes,” and then did so.

As Mr. Trump was hammering Mr. Obama over his strategy against the Islamic State, a man in the crowd shouted that the president was a “dumbass,” which stopped Mr. Trump cold.

“I didn’t say it. I didn’t say it,” he repeated, before egging the man on: “Go ahead, say it again — louder.” The man shouted the word again. Mr. Trump, clearly amused, said, “They’re very rude in Georgia. You heard what he said.”

Another story in my “Libya Focus” series, meant to help me keep my sanity amid screams of BENGHAZI!!!11:

SAS are in Libya tracking influx of ISIS commanders setting up new HQ after being bombed out of Syria

British special forces have been operating in Libya in a bid to combat efforts by Islamic State to open a new front in the chaotic country, according to reports.

Western officials say both the UK and US have secretly sent in commandos to undertake surveillance and gather intelligence in central Libya amid fears that ISIS may even move its main base there.

The officials told the New York Times that, as IS loses ground in Syria and Iraq, the terror group increasingly sees war-torn Libya as crucial to continuing its jihad if forced out of its heartland.

Concern has focused on the port city of Sirte, the home town of Muammar Gaddafi, which is just 400 miles southeast of Sicily.

IS has already won complete control of a 150-mile stretch of coastline near the city, forcing back local militias that had vowed to force out the largely foreign IS fighters.

re: #193 Dark_Falcon

I call foul. No charges of voter fraud in Ohio were ever substantiated. It was just rumormongering by conspiracists.

Morning.

I call bullshit on this comment by Dark. There may have not been any charges substantiated but then now can you substantiate a fraud when the fraudsters were those officials that set up the polling and were good friends with one of the voting machine manufacturers and probably cleared the vote as legit after the election?

Dark will probably see this link as a conspirators site, but from info around the state there are more than this site that will back up parts of this mess.

Vote Fraud 2004: How Ohio was “Delivered” to Bush

But I can testify to this personally…

The Washington Post reported “Franklin is the only Ohio county to use Danaher Control’s ELECTronic 1242, an older-style touchscreen voting system.” Franklin County’s voting machine allocation report shows that Damschroder deployed his Danaher (formerly Shooptronics) voting machines, which have been in use since 1992, in a formula that favored Bush over Kerry.

In precinct 55-B on Columbus’ near east side, there were 1,338 registered voters and, according to Franklin County Board of Elections estimates, 956 active voters who had voted in the last two federal elections. Despite voter registration being up 17%, and by the BOE’s own guidelines the polling place requiring ten machines (one per 100 voters), the polling site had only three machines, one less than for the 2000 elections.
The Election Protection Coalition that visited the voting site between 7:30-8:30 a.m. documented a dozen people leaving the polls, six to go to work and six who were either elderly or handicapped. But things were worse in other areas of Columbus.

In precinct 1-B where there were 1,620 registered voters, a 27% increase in voter registration, the precinct had five voting machines in 2000 and only three in 2004. Where did they go? Out to Republican enclaves like Canal Winchester, where two machines were added since 2000, for a total of five to service 1,255 registered voters? Or were they re-routed to Dublin 2-G where 1,656 registered voters apparently needed six machines, twice the number of Columbus’ 1-B?

I live in 55-B. It was a fucking nightmare. The line at 5:00 PM was out the auditorium, down the long hall, back around and up the other side of the hall and into the school gym/cafe. I got there a bit after 5 and if I remember right, I was there until about 8:00 as they kept the polls open after 7. That line was probably 200+ people for hours.

If I remember, the election was called while many in Ohio were still standing in lines.

What it did was caused many people to get discouraged and leave never voting. Still there were many that stayed and tried (like me) but some had kids to pick up, dinner to start, etc, and they left. Don’t tell me that isn’t fucking with the system.

It is fraud as far as I can tell.

Dark seems to like to cross the Tees and dot the Eyes after the fact. Too bad no one made sure things were okay prior to the election. The fix was already in before the voting.

Maybe I should downding Dark. But what would it change? Republicans running Ohio’s vote can do no wrong. Ever.

That is what bothers me about the Republican Party in that they want to make it harder for people to vote and that’s something I can actually attest to. My second to last year at GMU, there was a proposal for a precinct to be established on campus. The local R’s fought it knowing that more students voting was bad for their party. Clerical glitch causes speculation about Colorado Springs shooting suspect’s gender identity

Although Dear clearly identified himself as a man, the information was incorrectly logged into a computer, Parsell added.

“Our employee inadvertently clicked on ‘female’ and gave the confirmation to Mr. Dear to review,” he said. “He missed it and signed it.”

Thirteen days later, Dear received the erroneous driver’s license in the mail. Records show he traveled to a Department of Motor Vehicles office in Salida to report the error and request a corrected license, which he received, Parsell said.

To change his voter’s registration card, however, Dear would have had to mail a separate request to his local clerk and recorder’s office.

Unless there has been great technological improvement, I’m surprised anyone is going back to the IUD route. Products like Dalkon from the ’70s turned out to be a health/liability nightmare.

en.wikipedia.org

Talk to klys… but an IUD is a “fit once - forget forever” (or at least several years) kind of thing, a great benefit, especially in developing countries, and it’s one of the most popular and approved methods of contraception worldwide.

The Dalkon Shield had some specific design problems, which could easily be avoided in other designs, and it seems to have permanently depressed the market for IUDs in the US, but that’s not the case elsewhere.

Keyword in the Sliwa video Trump is claiming is about the people in Jersey celebrating the 9/11 destruction.

“Heard”

He starts off (in this edited video) saying “people celebrating, cheering, when they actually had heard the World Trade Center struck and more importantly continued to cheer when they heard the World Trade Center both towers had imploded.”

Weren’t these people “watching” the World Trade Center? Didn’t Trump say there “where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.”

Why did they need to hear about it? They saw it in real time right?

Or, was Sliwa talking about the people on the West Bank who would have had to have “heard” about the whole thing?

I call more TRUMP® bullshitting. It is getting deep. I hope the whole Sliwa video shows up.

If you were in Jersey City, all you’d need to do is look outside and see Lower Manhattan. Maybe walk a block to get an unobstructed view. No need to hear about the attacks if you’re living in Jersey City.

Paterson doesn’t exactly have an unobstructed view, but there are places that let you see right into Manhattan, including from Garrett Mountain. Or I-80. And some of the taller buildings there.

And over in Brooklyn, Atlantic Avenue is a focal point of a Muslim community, and they certainly knew what was going on - as the smoke and debris was coming down on their neighborhood (they were downwind).

Planned Parenthood killer terrorist believed Christ’s forgiveness meant he could get away with anything

In divorce documents from 1993, one of Dear’s three ex-wives described the killer as controlling, abusive and serially unfaithful. He routinely gambled away the family’s money, she said, but was ever reluctant to provide for his wife and children financially.

Hot-tempered and unstable, he “erupts into fury in a matter of seconds,” said Dear’s second wife Barbara Mescher to attorneys. In her time with Dear, she testified, she continually “lived in fear and dread of his emotional and physical abuse.”

“He claims to be a Christian and is extremely evangelistic, but does not follow the Bible in his actions,” Mescher said. “He says that as long as he believes he will be saved, he can do whatever he pleases. He is obsessed with the world coming to an end.”

Heck, you could see smoke rising for days and weeks after the attacks from pretty much anywhere within 20-30 miles of Lower Manhattan depending on the wind/vantage point.

It even had a glow at night from all the lights on the rescue/recovery efforts as well as ongoing fires in the rubble.

I watched another Civil Rights history documentary last night about the three who were murdered in Mississippi. Edgar Ray Killen denied his guilt obviously but he and a lot of the other older whites interviewed pretty much said that Schwerner, Goodman, and Chaney deserved their fate for “messing around where they shouldn’t have” and of course calling them communists. So yeah while no one you knew owned slaves, in that part of the South especially, you probably knew or had a white relative who was very racist. And this wasn’t that long ago.

Oh look what they said there:

Conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel, who is believed to be the originator of the claim Trump is now championing, attributes the rumor directly to the MTV News story.

“It’s strange that there is no record of it online,” Schlussel told The Washington Post before MTV posted the video on YouTube last week, “but as I always say, just because it is not online, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”

The Mrs. suggested that Fargo is really Game of Thrones set in the Upper Midwest. She’s not entirely wrong given the body counts.

Given some folks are Fargo fans, but might have missed last night’s episode, I’m putting the rest into a spoiler tag:

If you had Dodd getting killed by Hanzee on your kill list, +1 to you. That’s one end I didn’t see coming until the moment Hanzee actually came to the door and didn’t start with the gunfire right away.

Hanzee is pissed at the world for treating him as something other than an equal - and that came to a head in the bar. He did his service (as a tunnel rat no less) in Vietnam, so he’s about as bad-ass as could be in his back story.

Hanzee’s also quite loyal to his adoptive family, but Dodd goes too far too often and Hanzee sees this as his way out.

If you thought that Ed was a goner hanging from the end of Dodd’s rope, but Peggy saves him, yeah, I thought so too.

Peggy clearly isn’t right in the head but the scene where she stabs Dodd for talking crap about her shows that she understands power and exposes Dodd’s weaknesses. He’s a big bully, but when someone gets the better of him, he’s cowed. He can’t stand/understand strong women (which makes him loathe/resent Peggy, his mother, and his daughter).

Meanwhile, Mike Miligan and the Kitchen brother (not a prog rock band) are figuring out their next step, and we know where this leads - the massacre in Sioux Falls.

Yeah I guess. I think Illinois has a special reputation due to the Daley machine and the 1960 election controversy. Of course, everyone rags on Kennedy for having mob connections but Nixon had some oto.

Not the same dynamic, for sure. But although corruption tends to be seen as a Democrat thing in both states, in fact it is equal opportunity. I was born and raised in Illinois, but not Chicago; in the much more “red” downstate farming area. As WhatEvs said, there are (or were) plenty of good politicians as well.

re: #380 Snarknado!

The new ones are a huge improvement over what used to be available. They used to rely primarily on blocking or copper toxicity, I believe, while some of the new ones are actually hormone delivery right in the uterus - similar to the pill, except a much lower dosage because it’s at the right spot. (That’s the type I have - copper would have caused some serious problems for the medical reason I am on BC.)

Plus the whole not having to worry about when I took the last pill and whatnot is amazing. I absolutely discuss it with my friends who are considering and offer my experiences. I did a bunch of reading about the incidence of side effects when I was making my decision and it had been used in Europe for quite a bit (over five years?) before coming over to the US. And that was a while ago, since I’m on my second and they’re good for 5 years.

The only downside is the insertion/removal, but I will spare you those details.

re: #535 Eclectic Cyborg

Maturity does not necessarily go along with age. I know guys in their 40s and 50s who act like they are still in high school and 20 somethings who act like most of us do in their 40s or 50s.

Yep. Growing older is mandatory, growing wiser not so much.
