I voted for Bush four times (twice for Governor), and unlike the right’s absolute insane hatred of Obama, I don’t hate the man though I disagreed with many, many things that he did. He is one of the many reasons that I ran from the GOP, and Obama is one of the main reasons I’ve been able to maintain my sanity the last seven years. I like and respect Obama very much, and I think history will judge him well. Letter grade? A solid “B.”

Other than that, and a ‘57 for a flight to Seattle, and a short little turboprop flight, that’s the extent of my aircraft experience.

Yeah, when I flew more, it was a pretty varied mix. The leg between here and Chicago is mostly flown on ‘37’s or 319’s/320’s. Flights into either of the Indiana airports, on the other hand, are mostly serviced by Canadairs. Great little business jets, those.

But after the American Eagle 4164 crash back in the 1990s, all of the turboprops were quickly retired/rehomed to warmer climates once the 40-50 seat regional jets came online.

In OKC, there is a Mosque that caters specifically to African Americans along with my Imam’s Mosque, and the nebulously defined Shia/South Asian Mosque (But Sunnis and others go there. But it has the reputation for those).

I cut ties with Pakistan after I saw so many Pakistanis come out in support of a filthy murderer who killed Salman Taseer on the basis of “blasphemy” almost 5 years. The supposed “blasphemy”? He called the blasphemy law kala qunoon, black law, because he stood up for a Pakistani Christian woman who was falsely accused of blasphemy and in prison for it. Seeing Pakistanis throw rose petals at him and calling him a hero really disgusted me and showed how far down Pakistani society has really regressed. The murderer Mumtaz Qadri should have been executed by now.
If Pakistanis in America can’t speak out on the rights of Christians, Shi’as, Ahmadis and other groups in Pakistan, but pontificate over Palestine on a regular basis, they have no moral ground to complain about Islamophobia rising in the U.S. I’m sorry but again, I can’t stand hypocrisy and the Pakistani community is a community that is riddled with self-absord hypocrites that should clean up its own backyard before commenting on others.
