Politifact’s 2015 Lie of the Year: Everything Donald Trump Says

Donald Trump has told so many howlers, Politifact couldn’t pick just one. So their Lie of the Year award for 2015 goes to the collected statements of the Trumpenstein.

PolitiFact has been documenting Trump’s statements on our Truth-O-Meter, where we’ve rated 76 percent of them Mostly False, False or Pants on Fire, out of 77 statements checked. No other politician has as many statements rated so far down on the dial.

In considering our annual Lie of the Year, we found our only real contenders were Trump’s — his various statements also led our Readers’ Poll. But it was hard to single one out from the others. So we have rolled them into one big trophy.

One of the many lies highlighted by Politifact is Trump’s re-tweet of fake statistics from a neo-Nazi, a connection first revealed by LGF.

It’s shameful that the Republican voting base simply doesn’t care about issues of basic honesty, but there it is.

Republicans have had many years of practice at not caring about truth.

They all lie all the time. The biggest single GOP lie is actually the lie ‘moderates’ tell themselves that their party is not a landfill fire that should be deserted ASAP.

If/when one of these fascist SOBs actually wins the presidency, most of the blame will fall on the moderate Republicans for knowing better and sticking with the GOP anyway.

As I said, he’s done his best to make the GOP an openly fascist party. The GOP in its present state is an American version of the BNP/UKIP, FN, Jobbnik, name your other European fascist party.

As far as I’m concerned and while I don’t have any ill will to him and his family personally, DF is part of the problem with his party since he continues to treat the GOP like a favorite sports team rather than a political entity that will and does make decisions that impact me, you, and our families and friends.

Taking a moment here to reflect on the 27th anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing. I wonder how the 270 men, women and children who died that day would feel about the GOP is working hard to rehabilitate the image of the man ultimately behind their murder for political purposes.

WOW! The first stage landed successfully! That’s huge.

Blue Origin’s recent powered, controlled landing test may have been first, but the flight was intended to be suborbital and they boosted no payload, plus BO’s rocket is much smaller than the Falcon 9; it’s akin to Freedom 7 vs. Vostok 1 in what it accomplished.

What SpaceX just did is much more important.

Nobody is sabotaging anything coming out of trump’s mouth. Couldn’t say the same about the ACA rollout.

Even here in cooperative California the claim proved to be a stretch. Employers and providers made changes. Sometimes aspirations ought not be presented as facts.

The problem for insurers was that the Obamacare rules were strict. If the plans deviated even a little, they would lose their grandfathered status. In practice, that meant insurers canceled plans that didn’t meet new standards.

Obama’s team seemed to understand that likelihood. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the grandfathering rules in June 2010 and acknowledged that some plans would go away. Yet Obama repeated “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” when seeking re-election last year.

He’s arrogant enough to want to take it there. And the Republican ethos, which exactly matches that of your average two-year-old, will keep them from reconsidering in time to stop him. Keep in mind that the first ballots of the primary season, for New Hampshire military and other overseas personnel, are mailed out on SATURDAY.
