Al-Shabab Terror Group Uses Donald Trump Soundbite in Recruitment Video

After all the fake right wing outrage, Hillary Clinton is proven correct
Terrorism • Views: 61,241

Terrorist group al-Shabab is now using Donald Trump’s anti-Muslim bigotry as a recruiting tool, exactly as Hillary Clinton stated.

Terror group al-Shabab, al-Qaeda’s Somalia-based affiliate, is using a clip from Donald Trump in a purported Islamist propaganda video — and it’s gaining traction among Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) online channels.

The nearly hour-long video, produced by al-Shabab’s media arm al-Kataib, uses a soundbite from the Republican front-runner’s speech in December calling for the “total and complete shutdown” of Muslims entering the country.

Preceding the Trump clip, a bite from the now-deceased al-Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in Yemen in 2011, warns “Muslims of the West” to be cautious and “learn from the lessons of history.”

This was inevitable once he started running his stupid mouth. I picked up a couple of new Twitter followers over the past few days and was getting ready to follow one of them back, until she RT this asinine comment:

It’s like people don’t even think. WTF kind of dumbassery is that, Captain Obvious? No one said or even implied that terrorists NEED Trump’s words for recruitment, the point is that he’s giving them a frickin’ bonus gift of yet another thing to use for recruitment.

So what do you think is a more-likely response from Trump and/or his campaign: ?

A. Apologize to Hillary Clinton for her “terror recruitment” remarks?

B. Castigate Hillary Clinton for giving ISIL the idea?

(PS: kind of a rhetorical question here - when has The Donald ever apologized for anything….?)

Off topic already, but grrr, hiss.

I just got a call from my credit card company about a “possibly fraudulent charge,” which, indeed, was fraudulent. So they’ve cancelled the card and they’re sending me a new one. Now I’ll have to memorize a new number and three-digit code. Grrr hiss.

First world problems, but it still sucks.

Of course not, conservatives are a special breed and deserve special rules. To expect them to be held to the same standards as everybody else is discriminatory and a violation of their freedom of speech…even when it’s speech on a privately-owned social media service that does not have the same constraints as a publicly-owned one.

But we have a first amendment right to make hateful right wing statements on a private companies service. Our constitution says so.

re: #12 Snarknado!

I don’t twitter, but aren’t rules supposed to apply to everyone?

Yes, but some reports on Twitter are done dishonestly. The perceived threat is from people reporting others over matters that aren’t related to terrorism or prohibited activities.

An example of the feared outcome would be that Person A, who has an interest in firearms and military matters, posts a link to this story about how the 7.62x39mm and 5.56x45mm rounds inflict injury. Person B reports Person A , either because B does not guns and feels an article like that glorifies them, or just does not like Person A and wants him banned. Person B send a message to Twitter saying “This is stuff useful to ISIS!” and Person A gets banned without having done anything wrong.

Personally I think such fears overblown, being related mostly to the previous meme of “Liberals sending conservatives to the Twitter Gulag!!1” and the subsequent formation of the so-called “Twitter Gulag Defense Network (TGDN, said as ‘TiG-DeN’). That meme was BS of course, but fears of reporting being done maliciously are not entirely unwarranted. But the proper reply is careful monitoring and Twitter making adjustments as needed.

However, moderate responses do not make for dramatic television, so FNC goes for the “conservatives will be targeted!!1” mode of coverage.
The Medium Is The Message…

Zakaria:

“…For decades, people in rich countries have lived longer. But in a well-known paper, economists Angus Deaton and Anne Case found that over the past 15 years, one group — middle-age whites in the United States — constitutes an alarming trend. They are dying in increasing numbers. And things look much worse for those with just a high school diploma or less. There are concerns about the calculations, but even a leading critic of the paper has acknowledged that, however measured, “the change compared to other countries and groups is huge.”

By the way, right-wing “news” websites are now indistinguishable in tone from supermarket tabloids. I was in line at Kroger the other day and Weekly Sun or World Crazy Bullshit News or somesuch had a big splash on the cover about Obama having a secret Muslim meeting with Muslims because Muslims. For a second I wondered if Fox had a print rag, too.

“Tabloid” might be more accurate than putting “news” in quotes when referring to the sewer fountains of the Derposphere.

And that’s what things like Open Carry are about: White privilege. FDR’s New Deal and WW2 gave whites a lot of economic security, large enough that blacks and women could actually demand a share. But a lot of that has eroded, and Republicans are attempting to replace it with things that say “here’s what you can use to get your privilege back.”

But there are ways to get than info other than listening to hate-p0rn. Are you feeling like you’ve got no access to how they think on this week off AM radio?

Sorry if I’m bugging you, but listening to that crap just makes me want to go jump off a bridge.

Listening to it doesn’t make me want to jump off a bridge.

AM Radio is the older medium and blogging is the new, plus media in general is very dynamic. It is interesting to see AM Radio evolve to integrate with blogging and new media. Has anybody noticed the mainstreaming of Erickson and now Hewitt?

I swear I commented on the article by Zakaria… but I can’t find it in a search. Should have favorited it I suppose.

Anyway, I think I wrote at the time that it was bait or the VDARE crowd.

And sure enough it landed Nolte.

Smug and cloying. Everything about Cruz smacks strongly of total insincerity. I bet he even practices his delivery to make it as sugary heart-felt as he can.

If the cat doesn’t fit or seems cramped, reconfigure how you packed your travel bag. A squashed cat is not be the target of your mission. Any items that will not fit into the bag comfortably (when your cat is inside) should be either left at home or could be transferred to your purse or possibly to another bag, made to look like “all that extra work you did at home last night”. However, be careful because bringing too many bags into the office may draw attention toward you - the idea is to bring one bag containing the cat for the total sneak attack.

If questioned, say you have to return a lot of library books after work.

True, but being a lawyer is more of an asset in politics than being a doctor, at least in terms of being able to speak and develop tactics.

BBL

Perhaps he is a good politician, and I will admit he has a certain type of intelligence. But intelligence alone does not make for a good leader. You need wisdom. And from my viewpoint, he is sadly lacking in that department. He is a complete asshole. Nobody who really knows him, likes him, not even in his own party.

He does not have the judgement needed to be POTUS.
Carpet Bomb! Make the sand glow!
How ignorant is he really? Or is he just pandering? Doesn’t matter. Same result either way. He is not up for the job.

The men were convicted of arson, but under a provision of an expansive federal law punishing terrorism. They each served prison terms that the sentencing judge thought just, only to be told by appellate judges they had to go back to serve longer.

The Hammonds in late 2014 agreed to pay the federal government $400,000 to settle a lawsuit seeking to force them to pay more than a $1 million in costs for fighting fires they set. The Hammonds paid $200,000 right away and paid the rest Thursday.

Have you set fire to a nearby forest and is the government asking you to pay for it? Call the lawyers at Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe to reduce that fine. We work with government officials to reduce the payment to pennies on the dollar. Call us now.

Not shot by police

Matthew Bromson of North Granby, Conn

Bromson is charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, possession of an electric stun gun and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Foxborough Police said the assault charges were due to Bromson’s “actions and words with an object that caused three witnesses to be in fear for their safety.”
