Battle of the true progressives

Martin O’Malley is an ex-candidate, so tonight’s MSNBC debate will feature the first one-on-one confrontation between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The moderators will be Chuck Toddler and Rachel Maddow, so at least one of them will ask some decent questions.

Sanders’s unfortunate pronouncement that true “progressives” can’t also be “moderates” is sure to come up; Clinton and Sanders exchanged some pretty heated words about that one on Twitter this week. I’ll be interested to see if Sanders walks this statement back, because it was very ill-advised.

(Kudos to MSNBC for providing an embeddable version of their live feed — the only network hosting debates that’s doing so.)
