The Social Security Administration says that as of 2011, 50% of men will live to be 84. Remember that life expectancy is an average, dragged down more by children and young adults than it’s pushed up by centenarians.

No, that’s not what it says.

It says that out of 100,000 men, 37,424 will reach, which is substantially less than 50%, and infant mortality is MUCH, MUCH less than 12.5%

And this is why the general consensus is that you are an asshole. You claim to be some sort of reasonable conservative, but when push comes to shove you always seem to end up backing whatever bullshit thing the GOP is doing this week. So no, not particularly shocked that you support the just-now-conjured-up position that presidents aren’t allowed to nominate a justice in the last year of their term. Of course you do.

It’s easy enough to understand. For GOPers, “I’ve got mine, fuck you” permeates every fiber of their beings.

However, many GOPers don’t actually have anything, so perhaps the real party motto is simply “Fuck you.”
