Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump Will Get Rid of 2nd Amendment, Trump Threatens Lawsuit

Belligerent clown threatens belligerent clown
Politics • Views: 40,345

OK, first of all — Ted Cruz is fear-mongering about the Second Amendment again, saying if Donald Trump is elected “the Second Amendment will be written out of the Constitution.” And of course that’s ridiculous, because a president can’t just eliminate a constitutional amendment on a whim, and Cruz knows this; he’s simply lying again because he’ll say anything.

“And if Donald Trump becomes president, the Second Amendment will be written out of the Constitution, because it is abundantly clear that Donald Trump is not a conservative,” Cruz said on ABC’s “This Week.”

But perhaps even more ridiculous: Trump responded by threatening to sue Cruz over his citizenship, and also threatened the RNC that if they don’t “intervene” somehow, he’ll consider them in violation of their “pledge” — which means Trump is threatening to run as an independent again.

If Ted is going to continue to lie with such desperation, I have no choice but to fight back. One of the ways I can fight back is to bring a lawsuit against him relative to the fact that he was born in Canada and therefore cannot be President. If he doesn’t take down his false ads and retract his lies, I will do so immediately. Additionally, the RNC should intervene and if they don’t they are in default of their pledge to me.

What a complete and total clown show this election has become. The Republican Party is tearing itself apart, while Reince Priebus continues to pretend everything’s fine.

It’s time someone had the courage to stand up and say: “I’m against those things that everybody hates”.
Now I respect my opponent. I think he’s a good man but, quite frankly, I agree with everything he just said!
I say your three cent titanium tax goes too far.
And I say your three cent titanium tax doesn’t go too far enough!

We could theoretically go from the whitest-bread, most boring, even staid, election possible to socialist versus legally-challenged Canadian national versus billionaire third party in just three cycles.

What a time to be alive.

In 36 hours we will have a good idea of how raucous the rest of the campaign is going to get.

If Trump wins real big YUUUUUGE, I expect Cruz and Rubio and the other two to go bonkers with Trump attack ads.

To me, Cruz is just as bad as Trump. Theocracy is no more attractive than bigotry-based nationalism.

And Rubio - his constant repeat of the refrain “New American Century” at the end of each debate is a shout out to his sponsors - PNAC - whose vision for America is perpetual global warfare.

Seems to me that Trump’s threats are coming within spitting distance of illegal coercion. The only thing saving him as far as I can tell is that he’s not making material demands, but is instead taking it upon himself to issue legal threats unrelated to an opponent’s political speech in order to try and exert influence on that opponent’s speech. Since these statements and threats are now a matter of public record he’s kind of given away the game here before its even begun, pre-staging any such lawsuit so that it absolutely will be viewed by the Court in a deeply frivolous light.

“Wait a second,” Bartiromo interrupted. “Why are you bringing up Tamara’s boobs?”

“Because she started going back talking about, ‘Oh, you were a Democrat and you supported Hillary Clinton,’” Manigault explained. “If you want to get personal, we can get personal.”

“Wait, how does who you support have to do with the size of my boobs?” Holder wondered. “Considering that this is how I was born. I mean, I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry, I should have called you a boob,” Manigault insisted. “Can we talk about Donald Trump?”

By “balance” I would assume that she means the systematic reversal of the gains that women and minorities made in respect to individual rights and freedoms. Honestly, I’m surprised that they didn’t reverse Loving v Virginia, and Brown v Board of Education (although on this one several states are trying to).

Thing is, this is just more of Trump looking for attention. If he ever actually dropped out of the GOP race and ran as an indie, he’d almost immediately lose at least half his audience because they wouldn’t want to split the GOP vote and risk putting Hillary or Bernie in the White House. Oh sure, the media would still love him and still give him plenty of air time, but the party will move quick to stem the bleeding while Cruz or Rubio will rocket to the top of the ticket.

re: #44 Targetpractice

Most certainly Trump is playing this performance for his ego, and the GOP is his fiddle, CNN/Fox are his agents, and the disenfranchised (in their perception if not in reality) are his marks.

The Cruzites and Rubiots keep crying that Trump is a Democrat.

Well, if that is so, why didn’t he run in the Democratic Party primaries?

Because, frankly, Donald Trump really does hold the worldview that is eeking out through his copious speeches. It’s a worldview that would have tanked him immediately in the Democratic Party of 2016. The Democratic Party of George Wallace - there Trump could find a home, but that crowd mostly became Republican (to the continuing denial of today’s right wing pundits.)

So Trump knows, and has demonstrated, that he can get all the glorious attention his ego desires by running as a Republican.

And the ironic thing is - the GOP needs him. Ted Cruz is less likable than Donald Trump. And certainly the revanchist vote would be courted by, and received by, Cruz, not the likes of Bush or Kaisch or even Rubio.

Donald Trump keeps that Tea Party heat going, and going for the Republicans.

And Trump knows this, which gives him an incredible amount of freedom to say anything he wants to.

Stephen Fry quits Twitter after criticism

Stephen Fry, host of Sunday’s British Academy Film Awards, has quit Twitter after users of the platform criticized his on-air joke about costume designer Jenny Beavan being dressed like a “bag lady.”

In a blog post, the British actor, writer and comedian said he was deactivating his account because Twitter has become a “stagnant pool” littered with scum and other hazards.

“Even if you negotiate the sharp rocks you’ll soon feel that too many people have peed in the pool for you to want to swim there any more. The fun is over,” he wrote.
