The Craziest Scalia Conspiracy Theory Yet: Obama Killed Scalia as a Pagan Human Sacrifice

To mark the festival of Lupercalia
Wingnuts • Views: 49,974

I think we now have a winner in the “Craziest Scalia Conspiracy Theory” sweepstakes, as End Times loon Rick Wiles explains that Obama killed Scalia as a human sacrifice to mark the pagan festival of Lupercalia. Who knew?

It’s tempting to just laugh at this kind of raving insanity, but remember — there are millions of American evangelicals who actually believe it.

Wiles explained that the “Luciferian” “devil-worshipers” who control the government are out for blood, noting that Lupercalia is observed between February 13 and 15. Scalia’s body was discovered on the 13th. “There’s always human sacrifice involved,” he said, claiming that Scalia was “killed” to mark the beginning of pagan fascism ruling over the U.S.

“The 13th was the 44th day of 2016, Obama is the 44th president of the United States,” Wiles said, “so you have this numerology thing taking place.”

Wiles said that the assassins who killed the conservative justice “deliberately left the pillow on his face as a message to everybody else: ‘Don’t mess with us, we can murder a justice and get away with it.’ And I assure you, there’s a lot of frightened officials in Washington today, deep down they know, the regime murdered a justice…. This is the way a dictatorial, fascist, police state regime takes control of a nation.”

The GOP had a chance to distance themselves from Teh Crayzee some years ago fut failed to do so for fear of alienating their “base”. That simply started an attention-grabbing race to the bottom to see who can come up with the most ZOMGoutrageousest nonsense, as long as it was seen as anti-Obama or anti-Democrat.

And we are a long way from hitting bottom here…

White House: Obama will not attend Justice Scalia’s funeral

So what is the “tradition” and/or “protocol” concerning Presidents attending SC judges’ funerals?

Let us assume that Obama is afraid to attend for fear of Scalia sitting up in his coffin and pointing at him accusingly…

Good thing Grover Cleveland managed to win the Presidency for that second non-consecutive term back in the 1800s so Obama could properly time his human sacrifice for his seekrit Muslim pagan ritual.

Once again, when will the librul media correct the record that is helping spawn these RWNJ/conservative conspiracies?

In a statement Tuesday, the owner of the ranch clarified to CNN what he meant when he told the San Antonio Express the judge was found with a “pillow over his head.”

“I think enough disclosures were made and what I said precisely was accurate. He had a pillow over his head, not over his face as some have been saying,” John Poindexter, owner of the Cibolo Creek Ranch, where Scalia was found, told CNN over the phone.

“The pillow was against the headboard and over his head when he was discovered. He looked like someone who had had a restful night’s sleep. There was no evidence of anything else.”

When pressed for clarification on Obama missing the funeral, White House press secretary Josh Earnest repeated that “the president will pay his respects at the Supreme Court on Friday and he’ll be joined with the first lady when he does that.”

When asked whether Obama’s Saturday plans include golfing,
Earnest stressed instead that the president believes it is important to honor Scalia’s life and service.

Not that it will probably make a lick of difference to the “outraged” wingers, but is Scalia’s funeral going to be a formal “State” funeral, or a private affair for the family/ close friends?

If the former, then I can understand (and somewhat agree with) criticism of President Obama; If the latter, his decision makes sense.

Fighting against the Cruz machine’s propaganda:

Carson gets first congressional endorsement, vows to stay in race

Despite dismal polling numbers, Dr. Ben Carson grabbed his first congressional endorsement from Maryland Rep. Andy Harris, a physician.

Harris joined Carson on the campaign trail in Columbia, S.C., on Wednesday for a town hall on veterans issues. The two, both physicians, have been friends for more than 30 years. Harris told reporters Wednesday that he is supporting Carson because he “understands the historic constitutional background” of the United States.

Odd case of pollution in Michigan:

Mysterious Tar-Like Substance Coats Homes in Michigan Neighborhood

Residents in Harrison Township, Michigan, got a rude surprise on Sunday when they awoke to find a strange oily substance coating their cars and homes.

Days later, what the substance is and where it came from remain a mystery.

[…]

The fire department came by on Tuesday and inspected the scene. “It was an ash type of substance with a little bit on an oily consistency to it,” Harrison Township Fire Department Chief Michael Lopez told ABC News.

“It appears to have fallen straight down,” he added, noting that the substance was only found on the roofs of cars and homes, and not splattered across the sides.

[…]

The fire department did not do any chemical analyses but was able to determine that the substance was not a fire hazard and turned over the situation to the airbase.

Schlutow said he believes the substance might have come from the airbase, as it is only a few miles away. He is still waiting to hear back from them and also said a representative from the DEQ was supposed to show up later today.

Indeed. Lupercalia sounds like fun:

Lupercalia, of which many write that it was anciently celebrated by shepherds, and has also some connection with the Arcadian Lycaea. At this time many of the noble youths and of the magistrates run up and down through the city naked, for sport and laughter striking those they meet with shaggy thongs. And many women of rank also purposely get in their way, and like children at school present their hands to be struck, believing that the pregnant will thus be helped in delivery, and the barren to pregnancy.

Though probably a bit chilly for February.

The rites were directed by the Luperci, the “brothers of the wolf (lupus)”, a corporation of sacerdotes (priests) of Faunus, dressed only in a goatskin, whose institution is attributed either to the Arcadian Evander, or to Romulus and Remus. The Luperci were divided into two collegia, called Quinctiliani (or Quinctiales) and Fabiani, from the gens Quinctilia (or Quinctia) and gens Fabia; at the head of each of these colleges was a magister. In 44 BC, a third college, the Julii, was instituted in honor of Julius Caesar, the first magister of which was Mark Antony. Antony offered Caesar a crown during the festival, an act that was widely interpreted as a sign that Caesar aspired to make himself king and was gauging the reaction of the crowd.[9] In imperial times the members were usually of equestrian standing.

I dunno about that. I think my grandfather would have been receptive to the idea of more affordable tuition for his children. And for a lot of blue collar jobs today, you do need some post-secondary education. I have to say, I like the idea but I just think it’s unrealistic how it’s proposed.

My experience has been when witnessing a race to the bottom the bottom is never found.

The Bern is all-in on super awesome free college for everybody, right?

I’m not sure why blue-collar folks who do actual work for a living should necessarily find that in their wheelhouse. A lot of people out there actually like their job, or at least think it’s important.

Making college free doesn’t mean everyone has to go, and a lot of Union workers historically sent their kids to college - good thing, too, since the manufacturing jobs they might otherwise have taken evaporated.

There seems to be an odd response to the idea of making college education universally affordable, the idea that it means everyone HAS TO go. Historically and statistically, those who have gone to college do better over their lifetimes and are less likely to lose their jobs. That doesn’t mean that skilled tradesman aren’t needed, don’t do valuable work, etc. It’s just true.

The value of a college education may be diminishing, but the advantage over its absence is still there.

Right, same thing with my mom’s dad. NBC is really pandering to the conspiracy theorists. The article right after the one VB mentioned in her #6. The clickbait headline is bad enough, but it goes on to say:

Cryptic 911 Caller Didn’t Identify Scalia, Texas Sheriff Says

The owner of the Texas ranch where Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died called the local sheriff to report the death — but specifically didn’t say whose body it was, the lawman said Tuesday.

All the owner told Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez in a Saturday afternoon 911 call was that the person’s name was “big and it’s overwhelming,” Dominguez told the Associated Press. […]

Those comments were the latest shadowy details to emerge about Scalia’s death. Critics have questioned whether it was handled in a way that befit the passing of a Supreme Court justice who had seemed to be in good health. […]

These “journalists” aren’t even pretending to be professionals with ethics anymore. *spit*

Also starts with the obligatory “Comes now” which I decided to Google and came up with this gem.

The operative part of the legal wording the author doesn’t care for:

13. Now comes the [party]. I would add one last banned phrase to make a baker’s dozen. In a recent case, I received briefs from Massachusetts attorneys who started their briefs with Now Come the Plaintiffs (in ALL CAPS, of course). After that introduction, the attorneys then said what they were asking the court to do. Unfortunately, their local counsel started using this introductory phrase in briefs in a different case, spreading this virus to Minnesota. Except for this recent example, I’ve never seen this introduction in any briefs written by Minnesota, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey attorneys (the three states in which I’ve practiced). What exactly is the purpose of this phrase? What were the Massachusetts attorneys trying to convey? Did the attorneys think that the phrase made them sound more thunderous and authoritative?

Apparently, not much has changed in Massachusetts since the time John Adams practiced law in Braintree, and I doubt that Adams would have ever used such a ponderous, unnecessary phrase. Regardless of what they do in Massachusetts, please don’t start any briefs with Now Comes the [Party].

Best of all is her claim she’s being maliciously prosecuted for her criminality - it’s the old she who smelt it, dealt it defense/offense.

She claims that the real offense here isn’t her criminality at the NWR, but the government’s actions.

Again, is there some sort of tradition or protocol concerning Presidents attending funerals of sitting SC justices who have died?

I still remember the time I had a patent examiner start an office action with “Comes now the United States Patent and Trademark Office…”.

I should have saved a copy of that, since it was filled with so much pointless and random legalistic sounding argle-bargle.

Hard to say, since there’s only been ONE in the last 60 years.

Off to do some sewing. Somehow it is hard to work up a lot of enthusiasm for a long wool vest when it is too warm to wear it, but if I stall out at the lining phase, I’ll leave it half finished for months. I don’t do a lot of linings, so I consider them kind of a pain. Oh the horror…

Blackjacks over the North Sea…

The MoD reports they scrambled Typhoon interceptors to shadow a couple of Tu-160 Blackjacks which were in the vicinity. Just being neighbourly…

The Russians have been flying these missions more and more often over the past few years. The MoD released some nice high-def pictures of one interception operation a couple of years back, with Typhoons escorting two Tu-95 Bears somewhere to the north of Cape Wrath in fine flying weather. I do hope they release pics of the Tu-160s too.

From the NBC article VB linked to in her #6:

Four out of the past seven funerals for a Supreme Court justice have either had the president or vice president in attendance.

Former President George W. Bush attended the funeral for Chief Justice William Rehnquist.

Former President Bill Clinton attended the funerals for former Chief Justice Warren E. Burger and Justice William Brennan but did not attend the funerals for Justices Harry Blackmun or Lewis F. Powell Jr.

Former Vice President Al Gore attended the funeral for Justice Thurgood Marshall.

The funeral has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, a national Catholic pilgrimage site in northeast Washington. Pope Francis visited the basilica last fall. The funeral is open to friends and family and is sure to attract many of Washington’s top officials.

So not sure if that falls in a “family affair” category or not.

The other thing is the President’s presence would require tons of security. Perhaps that’s something the Scalia family does not want at their father and husband’s funeral.

Heh, Just got back home after going through the banking machine and getting eaten alive. I turned on the TV and it was still on MSNBC from last night so I caught the beginning of MTP Daily with Chuck.

He just showed a new national NBC poll with Cruz now ahead of Trump. Trump has lost 9 points since their last poll and is now at 26%, Cruz up by 8 and is now at 28% and Robotio 17% Kasich at 11% also up. Carson somehow still has double digits at 10&. Jeb! at the bottom with 4%. Sad Jeb!…sad.

I hope this is a telling sign that maybe Trump is finally starting to be seen for the dick he is. Chuck Todd thinks Trumps performance in Saturday’s debate weighs in.

Anyway…about banking. Do not ever get caught up in a credit card scam. I was placed in the middle of the scam for a graphics job and as far as I can tell the bank heavies are treating me like I was involved. It fucking sucks. This one hurts. Never lose your job at 58!
