Video: Donald Trump Says “Islam Hates Us”

Just some more outright bigotry
Politics • Views: 33,643

Yes, it’s Donald Drumpf again, pandering to the most hate-filled elements of the right wing base, telling Anderson Cooper that the entire religion of Islam has “an unbelievable hatred of us.”

Then with his typical belligerent cowardice, Trump refuses to acknowledge what he just said.

Cooper asks him, “In Islam itself?” And Trump responds, “You’re gonna have to figure that out, OK? You’ll get another Pulitzer, right?”

Trump then reiterates that he wants to totally ban Muslims from entering the US, saying, “We have to be very vigilant, we have to be very careful, and we can’t allow people coming into this country who have this hatred of the United States.”

And again we should note that Trump is simply stating outright what all the GOP candidates believe; the rest of them are just a little more careful with their rhetoric.

If by ‘us’ you mean the authoritarian revolutionaries masquerading as conservatives you’d be wrong. They and you are too pitiable to hate.

And Muslims aren’t the only ones to pity you.

Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unpleasant impulses by denying their existence while attributing them to others.[1] For example, a person who is rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude. It can take the form of blame shifting

Trump’s hardly alone with the Islamophobia. It’s prevalent in the GOP, but Trump’s the most overt with his anti-Muslim sentiment.

He’s also stated in the past that he would prevent all Muslims from entering the US, including Muslim Americans traveling abroad from re-entering the US. He’d shut down mosques and prevent new ones from opening.

Other positions the GOP wants to take - stop Syrian refugees from entering US, especially Muslims.

Whereas Bush sought to distinguish between terrorists who killed using their belief in Islam versus the rest of the religion who was not interested in killing, Trump seems more than content to lump everyone together.

Bush at least understood a clash of civilizations and framing the conflict the US was fighting against as all Muslims would mean more than 1 billion people worldwide. Trump doesn’t care.

He, and the rest of the GOP, seem more than willing to push us into a conflict from which no one will escape unscathed.

Trump just needs for his goons to send a protester to the hospital for it to be game, set and match for him. That might even win him the presidency.

The sad love that a huge section of America has for the bully and the aggressor. People who see someone punching down, often literally, and immediately inventing justifications about why the victim is and always was in the wrong . Bullying is strength, belligerence is strength, and they LOVE Strong People. If you’re not strong, you’re not American, you might not be even human deserving of actual fucking decency or empathy.

Trump and his followers believe in the modern version of Hilaire Belloc’s observation.

nuclear weapons and they do not.

Should Trump get the office of POTUS I believe he will be using those weapons, and not necessarily on Muslims.

That’s the galling thing about it all. “Intellectual conservative” is pretty much an oxymoron in the US. In the whole country, there may be a few dozen medievalists like Rod Dreher. The ideology of the NRO et al. probably commands the allegiance of a few thousand.

Meanwhile, Trump is channeling the plurality of US conservatism into ever-increasing fascism by being more brutal and belligerently stupid than any other GOP candidate.

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Is Taking A Ton Of Heat For Helping Payday Lenders

WASHINGTON — Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) has been working to gut new rules intended to rein in predatory payday lending. Her fellow Democrats don’t seem pleased.

Allied Progress, an activist group headed by the longtime liberal operative Karl Frisch, is airing a new ad in Florida hammering Wasserman Schultz’s efforts to undermine the regulations. The ad assails Wasserman Schultz — the nominal head of the Democratic Party — for teaming up with Republicans to defeat a policy backed by President Barack Obama.

This one bears keeping watching - if Trump knowingly violated H-1B laws there might be criminal consequences involved.

Trump’s modeling agency broke immigration laws, attorneys say

Donald Trump’s modeling agency has profited from the very same visa program that the presidential candidate himself has slammed — and appears to have violated federal law in the process, a CNNMoney investigation has found.

Throughout his campaign, Trump has loudly opposed the practice of U.S. companies using foreign workers instead of Americans — specifically the highly-skilled workers brought to the United States through the controversial H-1B visa program.
[…]
In her case, Palmer says she was paid only a few thousand dollars over three years despite being lured with the promise of more than $200,000 in earnings in that same time period.

That salary was also what was listed by Trump Model Management as part of the visa application.

“Ms. Palmer will receive compensation of at least $75,000 per year,” the agency’s president Corinne Nicolas said in a letter to immigration officials. “She is a model whose services have been in great demand, and whose proposed temporary presence in the United States has stirred great anticipation by Trump Model Management and its clientele.” (Nicolas did not respond to a request for comment).
[…]
For Palmer, the prevailing wage acknowledged by the Trump agency on the visa application was roughly $45,000 a year. Instead, she made less than $30,000 over three years from modeling jobs for clients ranging from Conde Nast to Saks Fifth Avenue.

And she didn’t even get to keep that full amount. It was almost entirely eaten up by taxes, a 20% commission to the Trump agency, administrative fees and modeling-related costs like $75 walking lessons and a $200 dermatology visit.

In the end, Palmer netted $4,985 over three years (which included cash advances and a $3,880.75 check), a figure acknowledged by the Trump agency.
