I think Tyson is talking about random variations in genes, things he talked about in Cosmos for instance.

He was trying to make a genetic joke (celibacy v. inheritance) that fell flat.

OK. But it seems a bit of a stretch to rake someone over the coals for a bad joke, especially when the point seems obvious to me.

But, then again, this is the week when misstating the Reagan’s support of HIV is worse than supporting torture and a spectacular failure on Clinton’s part, so maybe it’s just me.

Well a day or two ago Hillary said something to the effect of “where was Bernie when I was fighting for healthcare”. Then a video surfaced of Bernie standing right behind Hillary when she expounded on her plan - and thanked Sanders.
Now this.

A minor gaffe in the great scheme of things, but a gaffe nevertheless.

Thanks. We will be hearing about this tonight for sure. It is getting increasingly contentious.

I wonder if there is another element to this…like level of support, bucking heads, practical versus unrealistic…blah, blah, blah.

We are in the launder cycle of this political washing machine. Spin is up next. Yuck. I know it is all a part of politics, but I don’t always like when mom and dad fight.

Welp, I found out what was causing those server issues - it wasn’t the bots (although we do have a lot of bots crawling the site today).

It was happening because someone (I won’t say who) uploaded an animated GIF image, but with a JPG extension, and our new mobile image scaling function was getting very confused. It kept trying to scale the image over and over, causing the server load to skyrocket.

Fixed now.

Another great Republican blast from the past updated.

Christine O’Donnell ordered to explain finances

DOVER, Del. - A federal judge overseeing the Federal Election Commission’s lawsuit against former GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell has ordered O’Donnell to provide information about her finances.

The judge on Monday ordered O’Donnell to submit documents by March 15 showing her income, assets and liabilities for 2014 and 2015.

The judge said the information is relevant to O’Donnell’s ability to disgorge funds or pay a civil penalty. In lieu of providing the documents, she can waive any argument regarding her inability to pay.

The lawsuit claims O’Donnell used at least $20,000 in campaign contributions to pay bills at a townhouse that also served as her 2010 campaign headquarters.

O’Donnell, who famously proclaimed during the campaign that she was not a witch, has denied any wrongdoing, calling the lawsuit a “witch hunt.”

The Cruz forces in the party are the recognizable heirs of its
Regulars of generations ago. Their beliefs have been the bedrock for the
Grand Old Party since it started calling itself that in the 19th
century.

Their credo prizes individual liberty over government
programs and regulations. They are ever-respectful of states and
suspicious of Washington. They detest taxes and have no use for labor
unions. They are steeped in traditional social values, faith-based
religion and commitment to a strong national defense.

ahistorical “information” about a party that was founded on a radical social reform and fought “states rights” for over a century

He must have some deep-seated daddy issues or something. His behavior isn’t that of a well-adjusted, self-confident grown man—it’s much closer to the pathology of the trash-talking schoolyard bully who’s actually a whiny, needy coward underneath it all. Part of me wants to feel pity for such people, but I can’t because they do so much damage to others (who seem to be surrogates for whoever first belittled them and caused their insecurity).

My only fear was that someone else would hit ‘submit’ first.

For Lawhawk and others who have been referencing Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’…

These guys did a pretty good mshup of Trump rallies and ‘In The Flesh.’

There he is with the ‘hit me” quip again. Trump has a strangely limited vocabulary.

Definitely. Going viral on Facebook now.

The outfit who made it is in the UK. I’m surprised no one here beat them to it.

The comment at the end of this leads me to believe that if Trump loses in Chicago some of Trump’s followers are revving themselves up to take power by the bullet rather than the ballot box.

Yeah, and they’ll probably have about as much success as the #YallQaeda numbskulls who thought legions of Americans would run to support their cause in Oregon, but currently find themselves languishing in jail under federal charges.

I would hope so. The thing is they might kill a few people this time. I hope these threats are being investigated and watched by the FBI.

I’m sure they’re watching. They’d be foolish not to.

Thanks! That’s much cooler than the one several years before that in the Chino Hills area in which a cyclist was eaten! Urban/wildlife interface. Too much fun.
