Yet Another Donald Trump Spokesperson Associating With a White Supremacist

The Trump campaign has a clear affinity for racists of all stripes
Politics • Views: 71,253

What is it about Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and his inner circle that attracts them so often to white supremacists?

Trump has retweeted white supremacist Twitter accounts at least five times now, his son recently retweeted an especially notorious white supremacist, and now here’s Trump’s main media spokesperson, Katrina Pierson, posing for a photo with infamous white supremacist Chuck C. Johnson.

If you didn’t realize Johnson is a white supremacist, or you think I might be exaggerating, here are some facts about Chuck C. Johnson’s history you may not be aware of.

Before Johnson was permanently banned from Twitter, he also retweeted white supremacist accounts — not once, not five times, but dozens of times. He frequently uses the same sayings as white supremacists (e.g. “anti-racist is code for anti-white”). He has often expressed his support for Nazi theories of eugenics. He believes black people and other minorities are genetically predisposed to violent behavior.

Johnson once went on an epic drunken Twitter rant in which he posted the N-word over and over, at least seven times in a row. That same night, he also retweeted a white supremacist again.

Before he was banned, Johnson also followed numerous white supremacist Twitter accounts, and one of his closest associates who has worked with him on several of his ludicrous stunts (such as publishing the “leaked” Center for Medical Progress videos) is Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer — an overt white supremacist with a big tattoo of a swastika on his chest.

Johnson has written several articles for white supremacist and white nationalist websites such as Takimag and Vdare. (Warning: those links go to openly racist websites; not safe for work.)

Earlier this month he attended the annual conference of the white supremacist group “the National Policy Institute.”

Here’s a screenshot of a recent Facebook post in which he posed for a photo with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, then trashed him with grotesque racist language, arguing that blacks were better off under Jim Crow laws.

This is far from an exhaustive list; since being banned from Twitter, Johnson has posted links to racist and white supremacist sites on his Facebook page many times.

Now, whenever someone points out all these things to Chuck he denies he’s a white supremacist, saying he’s just “intellectually curious.” But with this long list of his own professed beliefs and his open associations and affinity with the racist subculture, I leave it to you, dear reader, to decide for yourself if he’s telling the truth about that.

Exploring different viewpoints Chucky said. That was his response to being questioned about his consistent and disturbing reliance on white supremacists for his views/links/evidence/claims.

When you’re consistently using white supremacists to support your arguments in favor of what white supremacists claim, you’re a white supremacist.

You are a bigot. You are a hack, and it’s not surprising that Chucky’s trying to suck up/associate with other known racists/extremists like Pierson of the Trump campaign.

Acc. to the demographic model the Ohio race is pretty much a toss-up.

The numbers in Ohio jump out, since they suggest — in contrast to the polls — a very close race between Sanders and Clinton. After accounting for the uncertainty in the forecasts, the demographic model gives Sanders a 42 percent chance of winning Ohio, much better than the 3 percent chance that our “polls-only” forecast gives to him.

I explicitly stated earlier today that NRO would accept Trump as the nominee by the weekend.

I am not surprised that they’re already caving, and the votes haven’t even been tallied yet. They know Trump’s going to be the nominee, so they’re already pivoting in advance of the general election matchup that they consider any GOPer, even Trump is better than any Democrat - especially Hillary. That’s the tact they’re going to take.

March 4, 2016
A Tea Party lawmaker who once demanded Muslim visitors to her Capitol office pledge allegiance to the U.S. and renounce terrorism lost her re-election bid by just over 100 votes this week, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Texas state Rep. Molly White wrote on Facebook that “after prayers and conversations” with supporters, she plans to request a recount of Tuesday’s Republican primary race, which she lost by just 118 votes. […]

Followed by this:

Hugh Shine Wins Recount Over Molly White

March 10, 2016
Challenger Hugh Shine secured victory Thursday in the Republican primary for Texas House District 55, defeating incumbent state Rep. Molly White by 104 votes after a recount, according to Bell County GOP chairwoman Nancy Boston. […]

Which will essentially happen after today, because he’ll be the overwhelming favorite to win each successive state and the other candidates are running out of states to win/catch up.

It’s interesting that his closest competitor - Cruz - isn’t even leading any of the races today. It’s either Trump or Kasich (who leads barely in OH).

Racist mass killer Anders Breivik is in the news, giving a Nazi salute in court while complaining about his horrible confinement in his three room prison suite:

The New York Times notes that Breivik’s suite is 340 square feet and includes “a treadmill, a fridge, a DVD player, a Sony PlayStation and a desk with a typewriter” as well as a television, a radio, and newspapers. Breivik has also been allowed to take correspondence courses at Oslo University. His complaint alleges that authorities are violating the European Convention on Human Rights by refusing to allow him contact with other prisoners, heavily censoring his mail, and limiting his phone conversations. The government argues that the restrictions are reasonable because Breivik, who has never expressed remorse or apologized for his crimes, could use interactions with others to encourage and inspire further acts of extremist terrorism.

Just never mind that her probable big wins in Florida and N.C. will result in her increasing her delegate lead today, perhaps to an insurmountable level.

You know all those wingnuts who have been convulsing for the past 7 years over Obama?

America meet your new Overlord.

“You can always tell when the king is here,” Mr. Trump’s longtime butler here, Anthony Senecal, said of the master of the house and Republican presidential candidate.

The king was returning that day to his Versailles, a 118-room snowbird’s paradise that will become a winter White House if he is elected president. Mar-a-Lago is where Mr. Trump comes to escape, entertain and luxuriate in a Mediterranean-style manse, built 90 years ago by the cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post.

I think we’ve finally found the ballot initiative to break the system here in California. Details behind a spoiler because…

From the Secretary of State’s website:

1668. (15-0004, Amdt. #1) - Final Random Sample 11/20/2015 (PDF)

Adult Films. Condoms. Health Requirements. Initiative Statute.

Eligible as of: 11/04/15

Michael Weinstein c/o Bradley W. Hertz[no phone numbers allowed]

Requires performers in adult films to use condoms during filming of sexual intercourse. Requires producers of adult films to pay for performer vaccinations, testing, and medical examinations related to sexually transmitted infections. Requires producers to obtain state health license at beginning of filming and to post condom requirement at film sites. Imposes liability on producers for violations, on certain distributors, on performers if they have a financial interest in the violating film, and on talent agents who knowingly refer performers to noncomplying producers. Permits state, performers, or any state resident to enforce violations. Summary of estimate by Legislative Analyst and Director of Finance of fiscal impact on state and local government: Potentially reduced state and local tax revenue of millions or tens of millions of dollars per year. Likely state costs of a few million dollars annually to administer the law. Possible ongoing net costs or savings for state and local health and human services programs. (15-0004.)

Unless Sanders wins something like 70-30, it’s not really going to matter. If it’s 55-45, they are going to split the delegates and Sanders’ chance of winning will continue to shrink.

Still, that’s an incredible amount of crossover voting, if it’s true. Most exit polls in prior races had it closer to 5-7% on each side switching (so basically a wash).

Thomas DiMassimo, 22, told CNN he wanted to grab the Republican front-runner’s microphone away and tell the crowd that Trump was racist.

But DiMassimo didn’t make it to the podium.

He was quickly blocked by Secret Service officers, and members of Trump’s security detail rushed to cover him. After a few moments, Trump, who was visibly startled, gave a thumbs-up and thanked the cheering crowd for warning him.

DiMassimo, of Fairborn, Ohio, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic. His next court date is Wednesday.

DiMassimo was charged by federal agents Tuesday with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so.

And I think of the third parties, the Libertarians are the only one that has ballot access to get them to 270 electoral votes (not that they’ll actually get there in a three person race)

The Greens are a Republican front organization in this country anyways, put Romney atop that ticket.

In my increasingly isolated dotage I don’t have as wide a circle of contacts as in my youth, but among the people with whom I interact online, relatives, and such, Hillary support is really lacking.

Or as Drumpfskind would put it, her campaign lacks “fervor”.

I find this problematic going into November where the opposition will be some flavor of atavist.

Saving it for the general, to be perfectly honest.

The primary is mostly over but for the shouting.

16 years ago, most women did not see abortion rights as under threat. GWB mouthed pro-life slogans but did little to advance their cause, much as Republicans had done at least since Reagan. After 2008, as Republicans took over state legislatures and began passing ever-more-restrictive legislation, women came to see that they could not take it for granted.

The electorate is not the same as it was in 2000, for a host of reasons, and the parties are not the same, either.

Do they not realize that people (especially in the Middle East) would see such a body as the creation of an arrogant, hostile Zionist-Crusader Supremacy arm of the federal government designed specifically to provoke them?

I’m also gonna guess that the leaders of Israel wouldn’t be down with that, considering where they’re located. Ditto our Muslim allies in the area.

They expect old Henny Youngman tapes will cover the “Judeo-“

Actually, a little less than a third of the world population is Christian. The irreligious, Hindu, traditional Chinese and Buddhist populations combined actually outnumber Christians.

Police arrested an armed worker Tuesday at a Cleveland polling station.

Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said that police took a man into custody about noon at the Louisa May Alcott School in the 10000 block of Baltic Road.

He faces charges of aggravated menacing, carrying concealed weapon and having weapons under a disability. He also faces a marijuana possession charge as police found a small amount of marijuana in his pocket when he was arrested, Ciaccia said.

Yep—from a year ago

On the heels of a record-breaking number of new abortion restrictions that have been enacted over the past four years, state lawmakers are continuing to push forward with a stringent anti-abortion agenda in 2015.

By last week, states had already introduced more than 100 bills intended to regulate access to abortion, according to researchers at the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation. Lawmakers are working to restrict the procedure in more than half the states in the country

A Republican President was always going to appoint anti-choice judges, whether after 2000/2004, or after 2016. And women knew about that then just as they know about this now. Well, on the off chance that you ever make it out this way and mr. klys and I have finally gotten our act together and have all the things we need to do it at home, I would be happy to do it a) without kelp and b) with halal meat.

The nice thing is you can actually control how long the meat cooks - and it’s so thin that it doesn’t take long, really. And then you have all the tasty sides and you cook veggies in the broth too and it absorbs all the flavors and it’s yum.

I don’t have time for documenting it, but the assault on the right to choose was a moot thing for many years after Roe v. Wade, in most minds. Not any more.

web.archive.org

The Roe v. Wade decision led to a conservative backlash that has not abated. Under President Reagan, the Justice Department regularly urged the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. President Reagan and President G.H.W. Bush both appointed Supreme Court justices who did not support the strict scrutiny standard for restrictions on abortion. This opened the door for erosion of Roe v. Wade. In 1992, a plurality of the court in Planned Parenthood vs. Casey articulated a looser standard for abortion rights by ruling that abortion restrictions must not constitute an “undue burden.”

In 2000, Stenberg v. Carhart again demonstrated how the right to abortion now depends on a slender majority in the Supreme Court. In a 5-4 decision, the Court struck down, as an undue burden, a vaguely written ban purporting to limit so-called “partial birth abortion”. The dissents of four Justices, however, demonstrate that a woman’s right to choose could be imperiled by the death or retirement of a single Justice, potentially shifting the balance against abortion rights.

Under President George W. Bush, abortion rights advocates face one of their most daunting potential threats to date. President Bush has declared his intention to nominate a Supreme Court Justice in the mold of two opponents of choice—current Justices Scalia and Thomas—should he get the opportunity.

A Republican President was always going to appoint anti-choice judges, whether after 2000/2004, or after 2016. And women knew about that then just as they know about this now. So far one relevant change (as concerns the women’s attitudes, because we are talking only about them, and not about changes in general) was pointed out in #217.

You seem to want to continue your talking points forever. I usually only lurk and read but as someone who was once refused birth control - because unmarried female person - roe v wade was an amazing decision and one that should NEVER be further debated in a democratic society where women are supposedly an equal part of that society. Prior to 2000 SCOTUS judges weren’t seen by many women as having their main goal to reverse roe v wade.

That you think #217 is the “correct” response does not make it so.

I was responding to this: “GWB mouthed pro-life slogans but did little to advance their cause”. This was bullshit. I pointed that out. Appointing two anti-choice SCOTUS judges is the direct advancement of the anti-choice cause.

You have women telling you that they feel their rights more threatened now than they did a decade ago, but you’re keep mansplaining that they’re wrong.

With all respect, a person telling about the hardly measurable feelings of all or most other persons in a group they belong to that consists of millions of individuals is not a sufficient basis for concluding that these individuals do actually have these feelings (and not a basis for comparison with the feelings this group had earlier). And not willing to make such a conclusion (or asking for more data) is not mansplaining. Here is the comment again:

Okay, Sergey, the electorate and all the things they care about is exactly the same as it was in 2000, demographic changes, wars, financial collapses, and the rise of Donald Trump notwithstanding.

*rolls eyes*

It specifically references the comparison with the year 2000, which specifically references my #184. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the general argument about Kasich. It was referencing this specific subtopic.

With each comment you are digging yourself in deeper and deeper. You should be embarrassed by now - you can’t describe a trivial exchange without mischaracterizing it.

And you didn’t accuse Decatur Deb of being obtuse for his comment at 200 (replying to your 184) which referenced Keynesian economics, in fact you responded to it also without reference to women’s issues, which effectively negates your claim that it was all about women’s votes.

DD’s comment was #200. By that time I had already explicitly clarified in #199 and #196 that it was only about women, so that even if a wrong impression about my comment remained (and I certainly acknowledge I should have been clearer initially), it should have been gone by then. Our banter with DD thus in no way “negates” my claim, because the comments preceding it are clear. But you, of course, took it out of the immediate context. Again.

And by responding to my 209 with ‘Roberts and Alito’ completely ignored all the restrictive legislation passed in the last decade by GOP-controlled state legislatures.

Because while it may hint at the issue of awareness, it’s not an actual measure of awareness. It’s only the first step to establishing the alleged change of attitudes. But even supposing I am wrong about this, you have shown that you’re not a person with whom this should be discussed.
